Background: After the extensive damage dealt to Riptide during the battle with Heidenreich, the UCA staff came to the conclusion that, while Riptide was well suited to dealing with monsters from its home universe, it was less well suited to dealing with the different threats present in the arena. So, once again, they delved into the history of a dead world and found this upgraded model. And, since the UCA has realized that they can get Davidson to cooperate if they send him after...certain types of targets, they have decided to do so to get the most out of their investment.

Description: Looks very similar to the original version of Riptide, save for the addition of particle intake vents on either side of the core crystal and the replacement of the the "eyes" with a single visor. The coloration for the entire machine is black, with red highlights, while the core crystal, Barrier Field generator crystals and the visor are all green. The wings are otherwise unchanged and can be dropped mid combat if needed. The dual shoulder mounted guns have been replaced by two separate weapons; a charged particle cannon on the left shoulder, with a triple barreled railgun on the right. Additionally, only the left arm has a Plasma Cutter. The right arm unit has been replaced with a Harmonics Disruptor weapon. Both arm units still maintain Barrier Field generators however.
Attacks
-NVA-117 "Hyper Nova" Cannon- Advances in heavy particle beam technology has boosted the power of Riptide's original Super NOVA cannon, resulting in a 25% increase in power output. The beam is still fired from Darktide's mouth but is now a bright red color with "spirals" around the edge of the beam.
-ECPC v.2 Ion Linear Cannon- The charged particle cannon on Darktide's left shoulder is an incredibly powerful weapon. It accelerates charged particles, which are drawn in via the front intake vents, to near light speed, resulting a weapon that in exceptionally hot and fast with incredible penetrating power. However, it takes some time to charge, usually 4-6 seconds and cannot be fired rapidly as it must cool down between shots. The beam is a bright white in color.
-MAC-3 Triple Penetration Cannons- The triple railgun setup on Darktide's right shoulder is designed to be able to fire off projectiles in rapid succession by charging the other two barrels as the first one fires. This weapon fires incendiary tipped depleted uranium slugs at high speeds, resulting in heavy damage to anything it hits. However, Darktide only has enough ammunition for 24 shots per battle.
-HDC-X9 Harmonics Disruptor- The Harmonics Disruptor is a weapon that uses focused sound waves to set up sympathetic vibrations within the target, literally shaking it to pieces. When used against solid targets like bone, heavy scales or metal, this usually results in fractures and similar damage to the armor. Softer targets like skin and musculature are usually turned into jelly as a result of being struck by the Harmonics Disruptor. The AI has stored frequencies for various common materials and can also scan a target to determine an appropriate frequency. The weapon takes a few seconds to charge and requires that the target be within 100 meters for effective use, although it can penetrate layers of defenses to strike at the keyed material.
-Plasma Cutter- Salvaged from the original Riptide, the Plasma Cutter is identical in all ways to Riptide's version.
-TX-9F "Lernean Hydra" Missiles- Fired from ports on Darktide's legs, these missiles possess excellent mobility and tracking functions with a medium range. Additionally, the missile is itself a dual warhead weapon, causing the secondary warhead to split off in mid flight. These missiles are powerful anti-kaiju rounds, designed to penetrate armor and the like with relative ease. Missile strikes are launched in bursts of 8, for a total of 16 warheads per launch.
-Corona-Eclipse Overdrive Cannon-
Darktide's ultimate weapon and finisher attack, the CEOC is fired from the chest panel. the panel itself splits into four sections and opens up. The area is tied directly to the reactors, and immediately upon activation, the power-up sequence begins. Due to the nature of the UCA, however, the power of the weapon was exceptionally limited. While still extremely potent, it is now a shadow of it's former self.
The CEOC generates a massive stream of thermonuclear energy is a straight line. This white hot beam is essentially an oversized version of the ANECs and generates a massive shockwave in the immediate vicinity of its firing. The beam is hot enough to melt most kinds of armor (being comparable to the output of a nuclear weapon) and the shockwave can knock smaller monsters back if they are caught in its path. However, the atack is extremely draining on Darktide's reactors, limiting it to one use per battle.

Powers
-TiTun IV Plasma Forged Alloy Armor- Improvements in alloy technology, in combination with captured alien technology resulted in the ability to make plasma forged armor. The TiTun plating is both durable and lightweight and is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 15,000o Fahrenheit without melting.
-NXT Synthetic Neo-Diamond Hybrid Armor- The synthetic diamond heat shield covering Darktide offers protection from most any thermal based weapon, including electricity, plasma, fire, lava, and thermal energy beams. The sheath also prevents or reduces the cutting power of most weapons without a comparable hardness factor.
-Multi-tiered Sensor Array- Dakrtide posseses multiple sensor systems, including RADAR, SONAR, and Infra-red, as well as X-ray and electromagnetic sensors.
-Barrier Fields- Darktide can generate powerful force fields from the crystal units on the forearms. Each shield is approximately 50 meters in diameter. The force fields can block both physical and energetic attacks. However, they can be shorted out by being hit with an exceptionally powerful attack, one with an unusual composition (anti-matter for example), or from a prolonged assault. If the shields are shorted out, it takes 20 seconds to bring them back online. The shields must be activated for each subsequent use and are not permanently active. Prolonged use puts a great strain on Darktide's power supplies, and kinetic force can still be transferred through them.
-Advanced Computer Support Systems- Although Darktide is piloted, an advanced pseudo-AI program interacts with the pilot by activating weapons and targeting systems via voice command. The system is shielded against EMPs and high magnetism. In case of an emergency, such as the unlikely event that the pilot is otherwise incapacitated, the AI can take over and pilot Darktide, although it will often use this opportunity to run away, rather than re-engage the opponent.
-Overboost Systems- As Darktide has been re-worked entirely to operate within the atmosphere, the machine's thrusters have been re-worked as well. They now use a new blend of more traditional rocket fuels, rather than Ion Thrusters. This allows for flight at Mach 3, and the numerous booster engines across the machine allow for incredible mobility. Additionally, a new Overboost system has been added, giving Darktide the ability to fly faster for brief periods of time. However, using this system consumes large quantities of fuel. The Overboost system allows Darktide to make one extra melee attack during a post, but is limited to two uses per battle.
-DOS System- Darktide is equipped with a light distortion device, allowing the machine to become invisible to any visual based sensors as well as RADAR for brief periods of time.
Weaknesses
-Intense freezer weapon strikes to the core area cause power fluctuations, weakening Darktide's energy weapon arsenal for a few moments.
-The NXT can still be easily breached by bludgeoning strikes.
