The scorching ray struck the twisted flesh of the monster, blackening the skin with a sharp hiss. Snagging the rough bark of the tree with razor-like legs, the terrifying creature sprang backwards, leaping towards the surface of another tree. Crydmarr’s long tongue lashed out to smear its length across the bark, leaving a trail of saliva to drip down the uneven surface. Auroros dived towards the exposed backside of the beast, talons outstretched. With unnatural speed, Crydmarr’s long neck twisted about at nearly a 180 degree angle, and the demon slayer suddenly found his flesh being devoured by a tornado of ash-like blackness. Fear’s lacerating breath ripped and tore at his skin, raining blood and small strips of flesh on the ground below. Distracted by the searing pain of the attack, Auroros lost control, flying straight into Crydmarr.
The impact itself was surprisingly soft. Crydmarr’s body sagged like a boneless sack as the avian crashed. Its skin was dripping with a blood-like substance, and its ragged surface provided the feeling of touching cold, raw flesh. Auroros struggled to pull away from the horrid beast as Crydmarr’s putrid scent filled his nostrils, filling his head with disturbing visions. Small, yet powerful tendrils erupted from Crydmarr’s very skin, snagging the struggling bird and hugging him close to its cold body. It was one thing to gaze upon fear itself, or to hear its splitting screams. But experiencing prolonged physical contact with the horrid thing was another story altogether. Auroros began to shiver and shake, as the visions in his head increased in their terrifying intensity. Even as his predicament steadily grew more dangerous with each passing moment, the disfigured tendrils began to re-adjust the demon hunter, so that he was pressed between the tree and Crydmarr’s chest.
The abomination’s head was still fixed in its backwards position, and the rolling eyes soon noticed Crigan diving down to rescue his ally. As if confused by the worm’s heroic action, Crydmarr cocked his backwards head… and then continued to rotate until it was nearly upside-down. The twisted sight of this strange act nearly caused Crigan to hesitate, but the hero pulled himself together regardless. Right as the worm’s claws began to glow, Crydmarr’s tail flicked upwards. Blood spurted from Crigan’s neck as the axe-like stinger slashed across his throat, leaving red stains on the forest floor below. White-hot pain shot from the wound, leaving the worm thrashing in agony as the flesh struck by the stinger began to slowly melt
liquefying before the eyes of anyone watching the battle.
With Crigan distracted for the time-being, Crydmarr’s head rotated back to its original position, before turning back to face Auroros. The bird was now pinned between the tree and the monster, held by the tendrils, but even this didn’t stop the demon hunter from thrashing about. Whatever the guardian was experiencing in his mind, it must have been absolutely horrifying to reduce one used to slaying the most terrible of demons and abominations into a writhing, shaking mess. A terrible scream erupted from his jaws, his shivering slowly increasing. His heart was beating so hard he could barely even breathe… beating to dangerous levels. Puke was beginning to dribble out from the bird’s maw.
Trapped this state, it was nearly impossible for Auroros to resist Crydmarr’s next attack… a terrible egg-like sack was loosening itself from its chest, ready to attach itself to Auroros’s flesh…

Time seemed to slow down for Crigan as he lay on the ground, his throat spilling out blood. Everything was going slow, yet it wasn't in death... no, it was like something else, something he didn't understand... What, your giving up so easilly? Your just gonna let this walking violation of sanity get his way? His conscious screamed into his mind. I did expect better of you. Just when I thought you were actually giving that lovecraftian horror some true justice... If only you let me hold the reins for once.
"alright." Crigan mentally moaned, trying to rise back off the ground, but he failed to have the strength to do so.
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to honor the memory of Mara and the UCA. Taken from us because the spineless wuss who swore to protect them in the first place couldn't stomach a little aggressive self defense.
"Alright, alright"
If only there had been someone willing to go the extra mile to defend her. If only there had been someone willing to stand up against this unholy affiliaton of all that defines terror and fear
"ALRIGHT ALREADY!" Crigan nearly shouted, anger fuming out of him. This shout caught both Auroros and Crydmarr off-guard causing the latter to look back at the worm... and not finish laying the deadly egg sac. Taking advantage of the situation, Auroros, fighting through the fear as best he could, kicked Crydmarr off of him, Fear incarnate landing on the ground and hissing in what seemed to be anger as Auroros took to the fkies and flew bakc away to get away from the monster.
Good, I knew you'd warm up to me. Now just relax... the voice wispered into his ears, and immediately, Crigan felt himself slipping off, as if being put to sleep... The eyes closed... and then reopened, bluish flames ignited within. With a single push off the ground, Crigan flew right for Crydmarr at a speed not yet seen of him. Crydmarr could not react in time as the demonic tapeworm's jaws clamped down on his neck, spilling eldrict blood. The momentum of the impact sent both tumbling over and over, crashing through trees unti Crigan emerged ontop, pinning Crydmarr to the ground. The walking horrorshow lashed out with it's legs, slicing through Crigan's flesh, but the changed legendary merely smirked as bluish flames gathered in his maw...
and a fireball exploded right into the bite wound. Crydmarr howled in pain as he was let go, a gaping wound in the side of his neck, snickering coming from the Legendary as he admired his handywork. "MUCH better. Now I wish I could show you how we did things back in my day, but I'm on probation at the moment, so I'll simply up the ante from earlier." He grinned as energy formed around his claws, and he fired a Focus Blast at the creature... This was not the Crigan from the start of the match... this was a Crigan from ages ago, a Crigan that few who knew him would recognize...

The Focus Blast struck the unprepared Crydmarr full-on. With surprising force, the massive orb of raw energy struck the eldritch abomination, eliciting a surprised hiss, before the beast was sent flying through the air, and crashing into a large tree off in the distance, creating a massive crater in the side of the trunk. Auroros cackled in a bird-like fashion, as he flew overhead, bloodied and shaken, but otherwise okay. Something seemed... different about Crigan. Something he didn't like. But, he shrugged it off, and simply complimented Crigan's aggression.
"Excellent work, Crigan," Auroros said. "Now, let us take care of this monstrosity, and purge it form this world."
"Yeah, yeah, you old fuddy-duddy," Crigan replied in a crude fashion. "Less talky, more killy!"
Auroros was somewhat shocked. That didn't sound like the Crigan he'd met before!
"Are... you alright, Crigan?" The light wielding bird inquired.
"Didn't I just tell you to stop talking, and start attacking?" Crigan said somewhat harshly to Auroros.
The Bird of the Heavens snarled. "No need to be rude, young one," Auroros replied, before he and Crigan began to soar, side-by-side, towards the eldritch monstrosity's last seen location.
Upon arrival, neither of the heroes could see where the monster was located. Once more, Crydmarr seemed to have disappeared. Crigan searched low to the ground, his ghostly vision allowing him to perceive beyond a mortal's comprehension, and Auroros searched high, his ESP allowing him to search essentially the entire area for the monster. Yet, once more, there was no sign of the creature. Auroros was getting frustrated by this. How could a monster literally faze in and out of this plane and not allow anyone to find it? It agitated Auroros, almost to the point of fury. Suddenly, from behind, Auroros sensed Crydmarr rapidly approaching, like a meteorite, launching his small but sharp body at Auroros, in order to body slam him.
Auroros was ready.
Though unnerved and very anxious at this point, Auroros turned around, and blasted Crydmarr with a beam of light, frying Crydmarr with a focused beam of light. Crydmarr's flesh was instantly charred and vaporized, exposing the emptiness beneath, but Crydmarr kept coming. The fear incarnate slammed full-force into Auroros, sending the two plummeting to the earth below. Crydmarr was on top, and the egg-like sacks of his chest prepared to Peirce their way into Auroros' Hide. Fear overtaking his mind, Auroros struggled to focus his thoughts, as his ESP became blurred and unfocused in terror. Channeling the powers of Emmanuel, Auroros, soon delivered a vicious kick to Crydmarr's chest, tearing straight into the beast's chest, and crushing and/ or destroying some of the "eggs" on its chest. Crydmarr growled in annoyance, as he reached down to bite Auroros.
The king of the skies kicked off from Crydmarr, launching the fear incarnate away from himself, as he too off into the distance, Crydmarr slowed his fall with his levitation abilities, and floated to the nearest branch on a tree, his devilish glare piercing Auroros' soul.
The hero had had ENOUGH!
Auroros' form began to glow, before he cried in a booming voice, "CRIGAN! GET OUT OF THE AREA! I HAVE A PRESENT FOR THE ABOMINATION!"
Crigan replied, "Alright, birdy. I'm getting out of there!"
Suddenly, the skies above the arena became bright white, and the air became devilishly hot. Suddenly, the sky seemed to rip in half, as a blindingly powerful ray of light sliced from the sky over the arena. The heat slowly grew hotter and hotter, the area slowly becoming almost unbearable in heat. Auroros soon cried out in a voice, signaling his final attack.
"REQUIESCAT... IN.... PACE!"
From the heavens, the beam of light suddenly became even more powerful, as the ozone above the location of Crydmarr was temporarily dissolved. Crydmarr could barely even cry out, before the sun's rays of light engulfed all of the area.....
As the light died down, nothing was left. What was once a majestic forest had been reduced to ash form the unfiltered light. Lying on the ground was the motionless form of Crydmarr. The horror had been burned beyond recognition, his hide essentially having been vaporized form the intense heat, with his already hideous face disfigured and charred into a nonexistent mess. His body smoked uncontrollably, what was left of his once horrendous appearance burned away from the light's rays. Auroros let out another cry, as his form became covered in flames once more.
"Time to die, demon!" Auroros bellowed, as he dove down towards the eldritch beast....

Crydmarr's head shrank back as its neck slipped back into its body like an eel within a rock, until it was swallowed up in darkness. As the fiery guardian drew closer, the now headless beast sprang away at the last minute. A scorching explosion of light struck the ground where Crydmarr once stood, and Auroros soon rose from the blast. Scuttling towards the rising guardian like a massive spider, the abomination's head rocketed out from it's body, massive fangs flashing in the bird's light. Auroros had no time to dodge this sudden move, and the creature's jaws soon clamped shut on his head.
The bird could not even open his own jaws to scream or retaliate as Crydmarr's wicked fangs slipped through skin and dug into bone. Its powerful neck dragged the guardian to the ground, and without hesitation, began to twist and shake. Blood spilled onto the forest floor as Fear began to maul Auroros's face. Its multiple long teeth left deep trails of red, cutting into his skull along the snout and jaw and leaving scars in the bone. The jerking movements of Crydmarr's neck was causing Auroros's head to be pulled and tugged in several directions at a frantic pace, further deepening the wounds left by its terrible fangs. One fang managed to slip past the bird's lower jaw bone and slice into his mouth, cutting the guardian's tongue!
It its merciless assault, Crydmarr was completely oblivious of Crigan coming up behind him, at least until a fireball slammed into its back, blowing chunks of twisted flesh away from the abomination. Still the creature did not react, causing the new Crigan to growl in annoyance. "What does it take to get your attention off the bloody chicken?"
The Ruler of the Distortion World charged the abomination, his claws surging with energy. Just as he reached the repulsive beast, Crydmarr's rear leg suddenly struck out! The bladed limb flashed with blinding speed, carving a deep wound that stretched across the worm's length. The spark of pain from the attack caused Crigan to drift off course, slamming into the ground beside Crydmarr.
The abomination's jaws relaxed their grip, allowing Auroros to part his own jaws a small amount. The guardian prepared to spit a ray of sunlight down Fear's throat, but Crydmarr had other plans. Its long tongue pushed into Auroros's mouth, its foul taste nearly causing him to vomit. The long appendage forced its way down his throat, and Auroros's began to squirm as terrible visions and sounds filled his mind from close contact with the beast. The slippery tongue began to pulsate, slowly slowly at first, before quickening into a rapid pace. Before long, hot white liquid shot from the tip of the appendage. Crydmarr emptied the foul essence into the bird, and once finished, released its hold on the guardian. The monster threw back its head, its fangs wide apart. Its ear-splitting cry echoed into the sky.
Already, the foul liquid within Auroros's body had began its work. The guardian began to thrash and scream in distress and pain, as a white, 25 meter long maggot-like creature erupted from underneath the skin on his ribs, before burrowing back underneath. It, and three others, could be seen creeping under his skin, chewing their way through. Auroros swatted at his body with his wings trying to crush the creatures within. He even cut into himself with his own talons to catch the soulless monsters. Anything to escape the agonizing pain.
As this was happening, Crigan now had Crydmarr's full attention. The worm swooped through the giant trees as Fear's jaws parted, and a blast of its lacerating breath rose towards him like a tidal wave of ash...

The rancid breath was countered with a fireball that dissipated through it and nailed Crydmarr's still open mouth, toppling the creature onto its back, stunned by the attack. "Now now, that's why we keep our mouths closed. You don't wanto to swallow flies and fireballs by accident.
" Crigan taunted the creature, before forming a Focus Blast with his claws and sending the orb of energy at Crydmarr. The attack hit, engulfing the creature in a large cloud of dust and smoke, the creatures snarls and howls penetrating through the smoke. But Crigan wasn't done with him yet. He flew in, and flew out with Crydmarr clutched tight within his claws. The abomination shrieked and spat, its own claws stabbing into Crigan's flesh time and time again, but Crigan did his best to ignore the pain. He flew straight up, above the trees, and began to fly around and around. At first, it was reasonably slow, but then it sped up. Faster and faster it went, the entire world blurring around the two.
"And now, here's a little something I like to call, the Mad Ferris Wheel." Crigan shouted as he abruptly let go. The abomination of fear that was Crydmarr howled in rage as he was sent flying at high speeds, and probably would have gone miles had it not been for a massive tree trunk a thousand meters away that haulted his flight. Crydmarr slammed into it, the tree shaking from the impact, but not snapping from the hit. The horror was stuck to the treeside, the juices and charred body embedded into the tree. Seizing his chance, Crigan flew right toward him, his claws turning bright red in color...

The nightmarish entity looked Crigan straight in the eyes, its empty gaze seemingly peering straight into the giratina's soul. Crydmarr prepared to dash out of the way of the strike, and counter with a blow to the guardian of the dead. The monstrosity zoomed forward, his limbs floating just above the forest ground, as its chest began to convulse and pulsate, more of the egg sacks preparing the launch towards the nightmare's opponent....
But the beast would be denied.
From the side, Crydmarr was slammed into by the flaming form of Auroros. The sky king's Devil Breaker attack sent Crydmarr flying acorss the arena, letting out a cry of surprise, before it slammed into the base of one of the many massive trees, creating a massive explosion of dust and bark. Crigan slowed to a stop, as Auroros' form returned to normal once more. The Giratina looked over at the power of Auroros' attack with surprise and respect. The White Feathered monster panted, his chest bloodied and scarred from the demonic beast's egg sacks doing their duty. Thankfully, Auroros managed to scorch the maggots that were in his chest, though not without burning himself a bit as well. Old Crigan soon commented on the Guardian of Eternity's attack.
"Nice moves for an old fart, there, birdy," Old Crigan said, before he looked at the wound on Auroros' chest. "You might wanan get that checked out."
"Later, later..." Auroros grumbled. "I have a pest to deal with first."
Crigan simpyl chuckled as Auroros soared towards the impact zone, using his ESP to search out Crydmarr. This time, the beast would HAVE no chance to escape. As Auroros approached, Crydmarr suddenly lunged recklessly at the avian hero, spooking him into swerving to the side, just as Crydmarr wanted. With lightnnig speed, Crydmarr's tongue shot out, and stabbed straight into the hero's woudned chest. Auroros cried out in pain, as the horror reeled him closer. Crydmarr's souless gaze filled with a murderous joy, as the sacks on Crydmarr's chest seemed to move in anticipation of attack. Auroros' heart raised wildly, the hero's mind becomnig frayed and disorganized as the beast reeled him in closer. Though panicked, Auroros struck fast and ferociously. A beam of light fired out from Auroros' maw, and the the bird caught Crydmarr's eggs and tongue in the blast. The abomination's main weapon soon shrivelled and burned, forcing Crydmarr to withdraw if he wanted to stay intact. The Eggs were not so fortunate; the sheer heat of the light ray fried the eggs, causing them to violently pop, sending their deadly payload flying through the air, if it wasn't instantaneously vaporized from the intense heat of the beam. Letting out a scream, Crydmarr quickly withdrew, leaping a good distance backwards in order to spare his scorched tongue and his destroyed egg sacks.
Auroros groaned as he rose to his hind legs. Though wounded, Auroros wasn't gonig to let Crydmarr get away. As Crydmarr turned to face Auroros once more, Auroros shot towards the horror like a platinum shaded rocket. Crydmarr snarled, exposing his sharp teeth, before he lashed out with a vicious bite. Auroros dodged once more, before he quickly spun himself around and impaled his talons into Crydmarr's neck. The eldritch monstrosity let out ah orrific squeal, one which assailed Auroros' head with a vicious headache, threatening to cause the strong-willed hero to collapse, but Auroros preservered. Gripping the interior of Crydmarr's body, Auroros tugged Crydmarr up ,and began to ascend higher... and higher... and higher... and higher! Soon, the two had ascended several miles above the canopy of the forest, with even the clouds resting below them!
And then, Auroros released his grip.
Crydmarr was soon sent plummeting down to the earth in a potentially fatal freefall. But Auroros wasn't going to let Crydmarr potentially escape... no, he had a plan for him. With a cry, Auroros' form once more became engulfed in flames, before he dove down after Crydmarr, intending the slam into him and crash both him and Crydmarr into the ground, many miles below them....
To uphold justice, To defend the weak from oppression, To destroy enemies of peace, And burn away malice with the flames of passion. This is my mission. This is my purpose. And all evil shall crumble before my wrath...

A savage screech escaped the mangled jaws of the otherworldly horror. The terrible creature began to levitate in an attempt to avoid impacting the ground, but with Auroros pile driving it down, Crydmarr’s attempt wasn’t meeting expectations. Instead, the counteracting force of Crydmarr’s levitation merely tilted the monster. Seemingly seizing a new opportunity, Fear’s slimy neck coiled what length it had around Auroros, shifting its body weight and rotating the diving pair. Within moments, the beast was on top of the heavenly bird, who had now ceased his attack and was attempting to get out from underneath the quickly falling Crydmarr. However, their speed was now to great for Auroros flapping wings to make any progress. Without the guardian pushing him down, the horrid beast re-activated it’s levitation, leaving Auroros to fall alone.
The ground erupted into an explosion of earth and rock as the bird landed, cratering a 300 meter wide gash into the landscape. A shower of crimson sprayed about the impact site, scattered about the motionless Auroros within the crater’s center. The winged guardian was unconscious for the time being, and like a vulture from hell Crydmarr descended upon its unmoving opponent. Fear’s influence would increase ten-fold upon the sleeping victim.
If not for the fireball that exploded against the back of Crydmarr’s head, causing it to faceplant into the ground.
Crigan chuckled as he passed the spider-like monstrosity, swerving around for another attack. With a savage “SCREEEE!!!,” Crydmarr leapt to its needle-like legs, recovering far faster than the ruler of the distortion world anticipated. The insane monster dove into the air, colliding with Crigan and sending both monsters crashing to the ground. Its eight legs thrashing around rapidly, the beast scuttled on top of the downed Crigan. An unsettling hiss escaped its fanged maw as it feasted its eyes upon Crigan’s own.
Its eyes. They were paled and dim… soulless, pus colored orbs that dripped with dark intent. The blood-like slime that coursed down its pale, writhing skin dripped onto Crigan’s mask. The stench violated his nostrils, the odor sinking down his nasal passages. It felt as though some repulsive disease had somehow infected him, and a cold shudder dripped down the worm’s spine. Yet even as his heartbeat quickened, Crigan couldn’t turn himself away from Fear’s gaze. With a wet ‘pop’, Crydmarr’s eyes pulled themselves from their very sockets. Held aloft by long, fleshy stalks, the detached orbs lowered towards Crigan’s own eyes. A sound like the tearing of paper filled the worm’s ears as a single tendril pushed its way out from Crydmarr’s eye, bringing with it a layer of oozing pus and false blood. A second tendril exploded out of the other eye, twitching in the daylight. More began to expose themselves, transforming Crydmarr’s eyes into bloody heaps of mangles tissues and writhing tendrils that crawled ever so slowly towards the guardian’s own. His heart was pounding in his chest, blocking out most of the sounds around him, yet still the sharp tearing of flesh pierced his feeble blockade. A high-pitched scream cut through the chilled air, and Crigan wasn’t sure if it came from the monster or him. Perhaps it was merely another illusion? How was he even to tell? He felt the tendrils creep into his mask, slither between his eye sockets, and curl around his eyes like worms. His vision was soon engulfed in a withering grip of cold slime as Crydmarr’s eyes drew closer to his own…
He was surrounded in darkness, an endless sea of horrifying nightmares that ripped and tore him asunder. Screams, howls, whines, drones echoed unceasingly around him. Masses of multi-limbed horrors clambered around him, itching and scratching. There was Mara… his beautiful Mara… She was in agony, crying for his aid. Try as he might he could not help her. He could not. He was helpless to save her. He could not stop it. Helpless… He begged for it to stop. He begged her to be set free. She was ripped apart before his eyes, feeding the mouths of hundreds of demonic as geysers of her life force drenched his body. He had failed. His sobs were only answered by the howls of demons and monster. Creatures too terrifying for mortal minds descended upon him. A buzzing drone that echoed through the pitch-black world drowned his screams out. Mara cried for his help. His flesh was torn apart. Blades pierced his eyes. He could not save her. He could not scream, he could not move. What could he do? What else but feel the cold sweat that dripped down his shivering body. He had no body, nothing, useless, unable to stop it. Monsters leaped from the shadows. What was hell? What was hell… compared to this?
Crigan stirred, opening his sore eyes. He was shaking terribly, and it took a while for him to remember where he was. What he was doing. A familiar cry echoed near him, and Crigan felt a warm, soft sack plop into his chest, sizzling and tearing apart his skin and flesh with its terrible fluids. Moments later, Crydmarr re-appeared behind him. It had fed well on its prey’s sanity within the last few moments… though to Crigan, the experience seemed to have lasted years. The worm was still stunned by what had befallen him, still traumatized by the horrible experience… as Crydmarr’s jaws parted to charge a fragmentation bolt right into his face…

The bolt of destrucion carved across Crigan's pace, sending blood and flesh flying all over. Crydmarr screed as he primed his legs, ready to pierce them into the worms hide...
But that was interrupted by a point-blank fireball into Crydmarr's chest, sending the abomination flying off of him and in flames. Crigan groaned as he flew across the ground, smearing away the sack laid on him. He turned to face the recovering Crydmarr... and his eyes narrowed. "You have crossed a very fine line. You can harass the lovely worm, you can harass those around him, but the moment you harass him with images of his wife... your already dead." He growled, energy forming amongst his claws as he fired a Focus Blast at Crydmarr. The abomination leapt ou tof the way with ease... but was caught off-guard by Crigan flying above him and spiking him down with a slam of the tail. Crydmarr collapsed on the ground, eyes scanning the area for his foe... but Crigan had dissapeared. He was nowhere to be seen. It was an ironic and bitter reversal of roles. With blue flames lashing around the forest, now he was the one being stalked. A movement from behind. Crydmarr whirled around an dfired a Fragmentation bolt... only for it to explode against a tree. He swerved this way and that, trying to locate him...
"I'm facing the wrong way but..." This time, Crydmarr swerved around, and there was Crigan, back facing him. "GOTCHA BITCH!" He shouted as his claws twisted backwards and dug into Crydmarr's neck, taking the abomination by surprise. Turning his head around, the crest on it began to glow, and energy gathered in his mouth. "Audios, you cancerous sight"

Before Crigan could deliver a final blow, the voice of the UCA, now a robotic tone as opposed to the usual human voices, rang out over the battlefield.
"Attention! This match has concluded. The winners are Auroros and Crigan."
The reason being that, while Crydmarr has some seriously nasty abilities, The fact that the fight was two on one, the fact that Auroros was generally resistant to Crydmarr's influence, and the fact that Crydmarr is kinda squisky compared to the other two swung things in the team's favor. That being said, Crydmarr put up a hell of a fight.
"Return to your quarters at once."

The moment the announcement rang out, the fires within Crigan's eyes died, and he seemed to collapse onto the ground. "What.. what just happened? Did we win?" He said, his voice normal as he looked around... Yup, we won. I helped you out best I could, and now, you deserve a break. Now head on off to the Hub... There's someone waiting for you there. The voice in his head said. Crigan nodded, and was wisked away in a light from the heavens, though the sounds of sinister laughter echoed across the forest with his departure...

Auroros, battered and wounded, soon was embraced by the warm light of the heavens, causing the feathered hero to fade away from the arena. A voice rang in his head, saying:
rest now, Guardian of Eternity.... you must gather your strength for when evil arises once more....
