Shinryu half snarled and half groaned, hardly able to breathe with all but its head trapped beneath tons of earth and pavement...a problem not helped by the sudden, powerful stomping of Sid's foot upon its crown. Its spines bent and splintered, asphalt cracking upon its jaw--and jaw nearly cracking in turn under the pressure. Fierce and relentless pain pounded through its skull, and its buried body struggled to move, to do something - anything - to free itself and answer its foe's attack...
...Wait. Its opponent used the earth to ambush and trap it for its attack. Without magic, no less...!
The dragon drew as quick and deep a breath as it could manage before it felt Sid would remove its foot, rolled its eyes upward and used the Stone Glare again--this time binding its adversary's foot to its own head. The hybrid grunted in confusion, which quickly became distress as it remembered Shinryu's Lightning magic...and then a different sort of distress when it sensed the wind beginning to rise instead. Doubly trapped now, to the serpent's head by the shackle of magic rock and to the ground by the serpent's own buried body, Sid could neither flee nor brace against the Maelstrom's fury. Bombarded with rubble, sliced up and down by magically sharpened currents of air, the biped's only small relief came in the fact that the intense gales - plus some of the heavier debris' impacts - helped the serpent as it pushed upward with its flight and ultimately broke free of its entrapment in the ground.
The two beasts fell to the ground as one, rolling and tumbling rather uncomfortably away as the windstorm wore itself out(OOC: no damage here). Once they came to a stop, Shinryu quickly levitated into the air, straightening its body as it did, and before Sid could regain its bearings enough to counter, lurched into a quick and sharp spin with its head still bound to its opponent's foot. The result was not unlike what the brawler had inflicted upon its wounded arm earlier; the creature screamed in immense pain as the bones and connective tissues of its leg twisted and stretched like they were never intended to twist or stretch. The limb would still work, but it would be exceedingly painful to use.
Shinryu at last dispelled the binding of stone about its head, freeing its foe and taking a much-needed breath. The dragon now opened another hole into the rift and disappeared inside while Sid began trying to pick itself back up, having to go more slowly with its injured leg...and when it saw the ground beneath it once again crack and start to give way, it growled as it tried to throw itself clear of the pitfall--
--only to end up suddenly rising into the air instead, breath blasting from its mouth as it was harshly rammed in the gut with chunks of rock and pavement crushing between its mass and its adversary's. At close to 100 meters off the ground, Shinryu ducked and glided away to allow the winded hybrid to now fall into the open portal. Maneuvering close to another building - this one not extraordinarily tall, only slightly more so than either combatant - the serpent now dispelled the rift's entrance and forged its exit a distance overhead. As its foe reemerged, Shinryu flew up to meet it, tail lashing out and seizing the brawler's uninjured leg; its weight and speed dragged them both down a ways, but the serpent managed to lurch into a spiral to turn Sid's momentum more lateral than vertical, swinging it around with the aim to slam it into the nearby structure...

Like a fuzzy baseball bat, Sid was cracked into the side of the building! The little giant howled as he was bent in half, his twisted spine skewered by broken glass, his leaking blood painted silver by glittering diamond dust. But even as his flesh was raked by the shattering structure, skin and meat left smeared behind in a broad trail of gristle and fur, the determined little brawler punched out with his spiked knee and tail. The spade-like spines that coated the hybrid pierced the building. Like a ship held back by its hooked anchor, Shinryu snapped back with a groan, his metallic hide splitting under the pressure wrought by his own momentum. Dark rings spraying from his body, the divine serpent was reeled back to face the clenched fists of Earth H-594's greatest brawler.
Blood and scales flew from the dragon's screaming jaws as Sid's clenched digits hammered into them multiple times per second, his arms blurred like pumping pistons. Bruises were blasted across the pristine hide of the god like black paint catapulted onto a canvas. The left eye of the crowned beast quickly became ugly and swollen, a sickly purple in hue, the enlarged brow nearly blinding his golden eye. The slitted eyes could only glare as Sid reared back his whole body, dense form still perched vertically, and then brought his entire weight forward to tackle the middle of Shinryu's lengthy, writhing body. The snake-like deity was dragged from the side of the building like a worm torn from the ground, both beasts tumbling down in a tangled, bloody mess. The former-human curled into a tight ball as they plunged, his speed increasing as he approached the level ground like a living meteor.
His paddled tail sweeping through the air, Sid controlled their spin so that the god-blooded serpent hit the ground first, its midsection taking the brunt of the impact as his stout body came crashing down atop it. Blood and breath burst from Shinryu's jaws as he folded in half, his tail and skull striking each other like bronze gongs, Sid bundled in his blackened coils like a cannonball with a pelt. Unfurling with an energized yelp and arms spread wide, the jostling impact shaking off any of his battle-wrought weariness, Sid swung the heavy, spiked end of his tail towards the moaning head of his divine foe like a cricket club with nailed punched through it...!

In spite of its sudden breathlessness and the ceaseless waves of pain pounding throughout its being, Shinryu fought to keep the upper half of its body upright and attempted to bring its claws to bear against its foe...which proved to be an unwise move; once again failing to see Sid's tail as it swept in from the side, the serpent was first stabbed by numerous sharp spines and then slammed by the massive, muscled bulk of the tail itself. Its midsection twisted less than comfortably as its torso was sent crashing against the ground.
The brawler made what seemed like a tut-tutting sound as it tapped its communicator: "GONNA HAVE TO DO BETTER THAN THAT, BUDDY."
The bruised and bleeding dragon coughed, spit more red-tinged froth and turned its head to look upward at its opponent, eyes honing into a firm and resolute stare.
(...Very well.)
Sid's head cocked as the words echoed within its mind; was Shinryu speaking to it? Before it could come up with any sort of reply, the ex-deity lowered its eyes and once again shackled the biped's feet to its own body with magical rock. The creature growled--which quickly became a bellow, more of aggravation than anguish this time, as it was once again subject to the conduction of the Lightning magic...and as the deadly power diffused through it, the serpent pushed against the ground to tilt its body so that the hybrid would fall over upon its thick-spined back. This done, Shinryu ceased the electrical charge and focused its power first into lifting itself clear of the ground, and then in one swift, stone-cracking motion pulling its opponent free of the ground and whirling its body so as to flip Sid over and slam it face-first to the ground on the other side.
The dragon now dispelled the stone binding and hovered quickly out of reach of its adversary's flopping tail, then moved back in to press its attack: as the tenacious hybrid started to try to get back up, Shinryu took hold of the spines closest to its neck and head and pulled it up upon its knees, slipping over its shoulder to face it before it could swing its tail back to strike. The former god proceeded to deliver two quick slashes with its right and left claws across Sid's chest and abdomen; the brawler's right arm reflexively crossed its midsection to ward off further blows, but the serpent instead seized the limb and slithered down and behind its foe's back, twisting the arm so to point the elbow upward and pulling it taut with its tail, then raised its left arm and finished the combination with a forceful hammerblow to the joint. The biped roared as its arm was quite painfully slammed and strained...but with this, the blood-stemming cast of stone crushed and crumbled apart entirely, and ample trails of fresh, dark crimson flowed free.
Running short of both time and options, Shinryu ducked away and half-rolled, half-glided to a relatively safe distance, remaining prone on the ground as it concentrated its waning energy for another detonation of the air around the reeling Sid with Flare...

Teeth gritting and eyes tearing, Sid made a quick decision and lifted his injured arm. The air in front of the staggered biped detonated under the fierce glare of Shinryu, and the hero was slammed by a brilliant fireball. Sid howled as his raised arm was scorched by the fires of the apocalypse, the aching limb taking most of the blast for the mixed beast. It hurt like hell, but the human hybrid figured it was better to have one messed up arm rather than two. The explosion of empty air picked up the G.A.K.F. fighter as easy as a loose sheet of paper and hurled him back helplessly, Sid screeching across the shattered pavement, his wounded flesh leaving crimson streaks behind and his spines creating earthy gouges. Although his arm throbbed with immense pain, the little giant had the mind to tuck it close to his chest, protecting it from further harm.
Dexterous toes and good arm digging into the ruined city street, Sid slowed his uncontrolled tumbling and rolled to his feet in a swift, smooth manner than only a trained warrior could manage. Even as he struck a low, readied pose, prepared for any followup assault from his enemy, the stout beast looked weary. Blood and sweat smeared the pelt of the former-human creature, but his eyes were hard and angry. His claws flew across the metal box on his wrist, clever claws typing out a message even at the rectangular device spat sparks and smoked. It was on the arm that Shinryu had ravaged and very close to death.
"YEAH, YOU'RE PRETTY GOOD, I'LL ADMIT IT."
The small titan smashed out one last line before wrapping his claws around the metallic cube and ripping it from his wrist.
"BUT I'M BETTER," droned the thing in a warped, damaged tone as Sid gripped it high over his head and bolted towards his god-blooded foe.
Shinryu reared high and readied his claws to slash the determined brute out of the air if he lunged, but his eyes widened in surprise as Sid cocked his arm back and threw the ruined electronic device. His golden eyes followed the tall arc of the spitting device. They should have been tracking Sid, because the little giant ducked down low, increased the drum-like fall of his feet, and careened into Shinryu like a brown bolt of fur and furry. The serpentine deity coughed violently as Sid scaled his lifted body and slammed a fist into his throat, winding the god and forcing his jaw slack. A splatter of blood flew from the open maw and onto Sid's clenched brow. The serpent tried to hiss at the scowling thing that clung to his front like a reptilian monkey, but all that tumbled from his limp maw was a weak wheeze. Sid smirked. Seizing the hanging mandible of the divine one and holding it open, the once-human hero raised his hand up- his separated voice box landing square in his palm- and then shoved the broken device down the gullet of the beast. The eyes of Shinryu went wide. Lines of blood and spittle ran down his head as he gurgled and bubbled from the corners of his mouth. His crowned head pulled back, trying to remove itself from around the forearm and sparking box of Sid, but the G.A.K.F. fighter held his jaw fast. Blood dirtied the knuckles of the hybrid. When the damaged box was shoved far enough down the god-blooded beast's esophagus, Sid unwrapped his claws from around it, removed his arm from the choked beast, and leap away, numerous thick and sticky trails of saliva whipping from his arm like gooey, translucent flags.
Immediately, Shinryu's slimy food pipe constricted and heaved, forcing the broken box back up. Back lighting up as the god's throat bulged and his eyes popped from his skull, Sid fired a burning Nova Ray! The gold-orange spray of energy engulfed Shinryu just as he belched out the sparking cubicle of metal. The glorious serpent drew back with a shriek as the damaged cube was launched back into his mouth by the fiery shot of gaseous anger! The taunt skin on Shinryu's skull smoked and peeled back like paint, bubbling flesh spreading down his jawline and snout like a eldritch plague, but, worse yet, the ruined box shoved into his jaws caught fire. Most of the device's plastic and metal innards simply melted into slag, which, although painful as it burned into the lining of the god's maw, paled in comparison to the real threat- the remaining spike-capped missile.
As if his head was struck by lightning, Shinryu's gasped and breathed in an explosion!
Flames and ash falling from the smoking head of the serpent-god, Shinryu collapsed into a heap of pained coils, each loop of his long body kicking and twisting in agony. The entire skull of the deity was blackened and hot, as if it had been left over an open flame for too long. Steam and smoke poured from the slack maw of the god. As the body of his fallen foe lashed and flailed, thorny segments writhing like a worm on a sunlit sidewalk, Sid charged forward and leapt up, his foot swinging down and towards the charred skull of Shinryu...

Shinryu choked, warbling weakly as even the mere effort to cough or breathe sent pain up and down the scorched flesh of its airway, not helped at all by the smoke and shrapnel and burning-hot air left by the detonation of Sid's concealed weapon...nor by the sudden, crushing impact of the biped's foot with the serpent's skull, driving its maligned face through the unforgiving pavement. Its body flopped meagerly in response, and it could barely muster the strength to plant its weakened arms against the ground...was this it? Was this the limit of Shinryu's strength; could it truly not grasp the power that eluded it? ("I will fight...'til the light fades!")That voice...the dragon could not mistake it; the champion of the warriors once summoned to battle for the god's empowerment. The nameless swordsman--the Warrior of Light. It had been he who led them to challenge Shinryu for freedom from their cruel cycle of battle and purification...it had been his solemn, unyielding resolve that led them all to stand and fight against the most daunting of odds--to somehow overcome the embodiment of their own power and wisdom culled by the deity. Resolve...was this what Shinryu lacked? Was this the source of Sid's strength and tenacity? ...The serpent drew a deep breath, heedless of the pain, and planted its claws firmly. The pressure upon its head sharply increased as its opponent saw its movement; it pushed with its arms and tail against the ground, wrestling against Sid's foot...the pressure intensified further as the former human fortified its stance, and the former god's muscles burned as they fought back. Bit by excruciating bit, the dragon pulled its face free of the ground...the hybrid uttered a snarl as it made ready to apply even more force-- --and at that instant Shinryu slipped its head and neck out from beneath the biped's leg, leaving it to bury its foot in the pit previously occupied by the dragon's head. Sid flailed about, needing to stop itself from falling over yet trying to avoid aggravating its wounded arm, and before it could steady itself, Shinryu curled up, whirled round and lashed out to deliver another hefty blow of its tail to the hybrid's face. While it reeled from this strike, the serpent cast another encumbrance of stone upon the end of its tail, then whirled back around and this time slammed its club directly into Sid's sternum, dispelling the rock after impact and pulling its tail away as the now-winded brawler clutched at its bleeding midsection. It wasn't the only one lacking for composure; Shinryu wobbled briefly in the air, starting to feel dangerously faint as blood continued to pour from its ravaged arm, to say nothing of the countless other wounds it had incurred...it needed to conclude this fight, and quickly. With a vigorous shake of its head, the dragon mustered its dwindling power into two more spells: the first, a Maelstrom of smaller scale - but no less intensity - than had been summoned before, with its master within the eye of the storm and its victim trapped within the wall of raging wind. The second, a final Stone Glare upon Shinryu's right arm--this one encasing the arm not in a simple bludgeoning club, but a sharp, spear-like point. As Sid struggled to fend off the rubble and razor gales that assaulted it, unable to see through the dust and blinding wind, Shinryu braced and then lunged with all its remaining strength and speed to punch through the storm, driving the point of its weapon for the center of its foe's mass... (OOC: Just pointing out, the "fight 'til the light fades" bit is a memory of Shinryu's, not him speaking to Sid again. Cool fight, bro. May the best beast win.

(Likewise! Glad to have you here at the UCA. Now let's finish this!)
Sid howled into the savage winds as airborne debris blinded and bloodied him. The human hybrid could only cover his eyes and hunch down low, hoping that nothing too large would slam into him. Most of the debris merely sliced across his skin or broke across his pelt. Blood and severed bits of tissue tumbled down his coat, but otherwise the damage was not too tremendous. Some of the blows rocked his whole body though, threatening to ruin his balance. Building tops, whole blocks lifted up and cast into the wind, lonely cars placed in the city by the UCA- these are what put the hero in danger, not broken asphalt and glass shards. A particularly nasty impact of an intact street corner against his wounded arm convinced the former-human to tuck it into his breast and roll his mas around it. Sid held back a scream as the ruined limb as pressed on all sides by his own flesh, but at least it could not be damaged further by the storm.
Something ticked in Sid's skull suddenly, some primeval warning from his animal side.
Sid tried his very hardest to remain human. He was monstrous in form, but hoped to stay human at heart and in mind. Sometimes though, on occasions where tactic and even sense failed, he had to listen to what the animal in him said. It had saved his life many times before. It would probably save his life many more times here. As much as he disliked the dumb, instinctive beast that dwelled in his skull, he had learned to trust it.
And it now screamed at him: dangerdangerdangerdangerdangerDANGER.
Like a furred bolt of lightning, Sid acted, just acted, no thought, his brain too slow to tell him what to do. Only his instincts drove him. He uncurled, revealing himself fully to the unforgiving wind. His arms swung together, agony swelling in the injured one as it moved. He half expected his palm to slap into each other, but instead they closed around a hard rocky point. Agony exploded into his bad arm as 55,000 tons rammed into it. Sid shrieked like a beast caught in a bear trap. He was lifted up and flung back like something small and wooden, a child's thing, and a sharp point stabbed weakly at his chest, not quite breaking the skin. Hazel eyes cracked open. The crowned face of Shinryu was right before him, his body almost wrapped around the dragon's skull. The god's arm was grey and jagged, encased in stone, its spear-like end pressed into Sid's chest, drawing blood.
Anger swelled in Sid's cranium, giving him a migraine. Ignoring the agony racking his bad arm, the little giant wrenched the blade poking his chest to the side, creating a small slice across his left pectoral. Forcing the arm backwards like the tip of a plastic straw, the magical rock around its joint cracking and crumbling under the adrenaline-fueled strength of the G.A.K.F.'s greatest brawler, Sid stabbed the stone spear back at Shinryu. The former-deity was writhing pain already, his right arm bullied far beyond its normal range of motion and his elbow releasing a fine spray of red mist. His distressed cries reach a new pitch as his body was pierced, stone-encased arm skewering into the base of the opposite limb and unleashing a thick, messy geyser of blood.
The serpent's flight falter as he thrashed, and Sid could feel his tailtip skid across the ground as they descended.
Slamming his heels into the paved earth, the G.A.K.F. fighter raised his arms and clasped them around Shinryu, grappling the lengthy monster. Holding the struggling creature still, Sid parted his jaws and allowed his spines to burst to life with a bright light- the mother of all Nova Beam charging across his bristled pelt. The chimeric giant's entire back was lit up like a bonfire, golden light and gaseous energy raising from his spine like a great forest blaze.
Shinryu's bright eyes widened. His flailing body redoubled its efforts. The dragon's jagged coils beat against the ground just as fiercely as they pounded against Sid, but the winding creature was held tight.
There was no escape.
Jaw dropping open like a bay door and crackling, lightning-spewing back climaxing into a bright spear of light that split the heavens, Sid unleashed a Nova Beam broad as the street it shattered!
Shinryu howled as he was engulfed completely, not an inch of his coils left unscathed by the malicious light. A black outline in a sea of golden-orange light, the dragon burned away, his silver skin charred black and his crimson mane becoming ash. Sid himself was scorched by the heat of the blast, his scaled underbelly spouting smoke and the scraggly fur on his face smouldering with hot embers. Like the chosen victim of a alien spacecraft, Shinryu began to lift away, caught in an horizontal tractor beam carved from the inferno itself. Pushed away from Sid and into the open air as he dissolved away, his edges slowly turning to soot, the god-blooded beast ascended, launched skyward by the blast that consumed him. The dragon's screams shook the air like whining thunderclaps and his muddy remains- mixed blood and ash- rained down like the death of the Earth. The dark shaped of the dragon hung suspended in a moment of pure hell masked as heaven.
Soon, no more than a quarter of a minute into the infernal assault, Sid burnt himself out. Blazing spines delluminated in a second, the human hybrid snapped his smoking jaws shut and dropped to the ground, his eyes dull. Shinryu, freed from his brilliant prison and painted black as night, also fell, his curling form almost hidden completely by slate smoke. The rivals slammed into the earth very near each other, so close that they could probably lock claws if they reached out. Spent to the full extended that any beast could be, injured equally and smeared heavily with char and blood, the two foes laid still, unable to do much else.
All that was left was the call...

And sure enough, the call came out, like a voice from heaven. "Attention, this fight is over. The winner is... Shinryu! I repeat, the winner is Shinryu. Now return to your living quarters at once!"

Victory...
Shinryu might have felt joy, were it not simply too exhausted and wounded to feel much of anything besides pain. Nonetheless, the former god slowly placed its arms, looped its tail beneath itself and pushed into somewhat of an upright position. Equally exhausted but still alert and wary, Sid's eyes followed its every move, watching closely for any further hostility...the dragon swayed briefly before regaining its balance, raised its burned and bloody arms...
...clasped its claws together and lowered into what seemed to be a bow.
(I commend your strength and spirit,) the dragon spoke telepathically to the biped. (I am glad to have shared this battle with you. May we both grow stronger for it...)
Indeed, Sid had fought with intensity and courage worthy of the Warrior of Light himself; Shinryu would not let such valor go without praise even if the UCA deemed it unfit to claim victory here.
With this, the teleporter's light enveloped the serpent, and it vanished from the battlefield to return to its - hopefully not still waterlogged - personal dwelling.

Sid offered a wave of his claws and a weary smile to the silver dragon as its bowing coils vanished. The little giant held his injured arm and hunched painfully, but his eyes were flickering with satisfaction. Win or lose, that had been a damn good fight.
The G.A.K.F. hero couldn't help but be at least a bit disappointing though. He should have had that in the bag. The former-god was a powerful warrior, but he was just that- a warrior. Not a beast or brute that ravaged world and threatened the lives of all. Those were the creatures Sid was trained to take down, and he had fallen against a fellow warrior. Sid was suppose to be the best brawler there was. The people back on home depended on him to be.
Today, he had failed them...
"..."
Glancing down, the monster prodded a talon into his plumping belly. The curved claw sunk in with an ease that made the hero practically feel the glares of his trainers. Damn, Sid thought to himself with a frown and an experimental wriggle of his stout midsection. I need to start working out. I got a gut.
The human hybrid was engulfed in light and was gone as the alien beam faded.
