Mecha Warrior LENNETHDark Valkyrie, bane of monsters. -V E R S U S- Mama Bear KITAMURAThe Guardian, kung-fu master of strength and toughness. Arena: A wasteland of snow, frost and puddles of ice. Tall icy structures are dotting the landscape here and there. Underneath the thick sheet of snow is a bed of rock, but there is deep water a little farther. Ref: LEEDLE LEEDLE LEEDLE LEE ((I just realized that Kit is still in the retired section... for some reason. And I apparently forgot to toggle her energy manipulation for Agnikinesis and Ondojutsu. I is smart. Is it okay with you if I make a last-minute change to add those before the match actually starts, Omega?))

(Yeah, I don't have a problem with the edits.)
It had been some time since Natalie had been called forth to participate in a match. And with Orsa rampaging around the forested zone, she wasn't sure she wanted to get out there. There was even a big brawl going on, but she hadn't wanted to watch it. Now though, the UCA had called her out to fight a fight she had never seen before. One named Kitamura. And with the advice by the announcer to dress warmly, she had a pretty good idea of where she was headed.
----
The light from the teleporter faded as Natalie surveyed her surroundings. A nasty arctic wind blasted the landscape, scattering flurries of snow and ice everywhere. Inside Lenneth's temperature-controlled armor, Natalie was snug and secure, for the moment. All she had to do was wait until this Kitamura showed up, then figure out a valid combat tactic.

((A'ight! And thank you for reffing, Hayesorz. :3))
A blinding flash illuminated the frozen wasteland. When its glowing length faded from existence, leaving only tiny sparkles of electronic light still flying, the spiked, broad-shouldered form of Kitamura could be seen standing tall. Her blue body appeared somewhat greyish in the tundra. Her toes tapped the snow under her clawed feet, as her extremely high body heat began to melt it. Taking notice of this, her tiny eyes quickly shot downwards, hoping that she was not going to fall in deep water. Thankfully, it turned out to be rock, not ice - much to her relief. The armored, spiky titan began to scan the area, already building strategies in her head, as the wind ruffled her "fur" and reddened her eyes - but she was also scanning for ice puddles, her aquaphobia making her slightly paranoid about it. She had already been to this arctic area, and once more, the cold did not bother her at all.
It was a miracle how she was actually awake when she was told that she was about to be fighting. She hated to be told what to do, but hated even more to fight without reason. She had built skills over her hundreds of years of age; skills that made her what she was now. She was not about to be killed here, but she was still reluctant.
She knew her strength and her capabilities, her limits, but wasting such strength in pointless battles?
It bothered her.
Regardless, she had to oblige. After observing the freezing location, Kit turned to Lenneth, apple green eyes scanning the machine up and down. She could tell that this was a machine because the heat generated from the tall metal form was not as intense as the body heat of a monster of flesh and blood. She could also see the "aura" of heat of a tiny form. A human.
Bringing her fists to her hips, the Beast took the time to greet her opponent in her thunderous, but ragged voice:
"Hrmm... Not a coward, are ya? Goin' toe to toe with giant monsters, even in a well-armed machine. I don't wanna fight you, but it looks like I dun get a choice. Come on, then. Greet me not as pilot, but as fighter!"

"Great, another talking monster," Natalie said to herself. "I guess it's a good bet she's intelligent too. No sense in taking her head on if I don't have to."
So, with that in mind, Natalie gripped her sword tightly, as she began to scan Kitamura. The spiked beast had an incredibly high temperature, and the chilly arctic winds seemed to not phase her. Whether or not she could handle the sub-zero temperatures of Lenneth's Zero Cannon was another question entirely, one Natalie rapidly put to the test as Lenneth's faceplate split to reveal the Zero Cannon's firing port, as te beam of intense cold struck Kitamura across the chest, leaving icy patches across the Gyradanic monster's armored hide.
Kit howled in pain, even as her own internal furnace began to heat the ice off of her. But as she did, a volley of missiles exploded across her body, generating more icy patches in their wake. As Kit flared her body temperature in a move to rid herself of these painful cold patches, Natalie hit the thrusters and rocketed right at Kit, her claymore already glowing with a laser charge as she swung with all her might, right at Kit's midsection. She expected to cleave right into the spiked monster's hide. Instead, the blade barely passed through the outermost layer of armor before stopping cold.
"What the..."
Natalie's bewilderment was cut short as Kit drew back a fist and slammed it into Lenneth's chest plate, denting the armor and driving the mechanical Valkyrie back. The sheer heat radiating off the punch would have scorched a lesser machine, but Lenneth's temperature control system reduced its output some.
"So much for up close and personal. I need to get through that armor first. And I know just how to do it, too."
With that, Natalie rocketed backwards and fired another volley of ice missiles, hoping to continue chilling Kit's armor...

Like a swarm of frosty bees, the cold missiles raced through the air with smoke in their wake, and crashed into Kitamura's armored form. Most simply harmlessly detonated against her armor plating or were crushed against it like tin cans, but out of pure luck, one of them struck into a scar adorning the blue guardian's shoulder, the projectile managing to stab into the tenderized flesh. However, the frost it injected into the thick muscle there simply melted, streaks of water bubbling from the small wound and water flowing between her spiky scales like a silvery river. The spiked colossus, never one to be slowed down by neither pain nor weapons, continued to advance through the flurry of missiles, instead stepping faster through the assault. Clawed paws hammering the ground under her weight with earthquakes and flying snow, Kit strolled after Lenneth like a bear chasing a prey.
“Wurrrgh, not so fast! That old spiny carcass of mine can hardly keep up.” The protector rumbled, telepathically as always, as she could not speak verbally - using something like "audible telepathy" instead. Her vocal chords did not allow her to do anything else than low-pitched, rumbling bear-like groans.
She may have been old, even by Rahneek standards, but her old bones and muscles were still remarkably healthy, allowing her to keep up to a decent rythm - but not as quick as she would have been, years younger. Before the Gydranic bear could come in too close, the machine boosted up, but Kit outstretched her burly arms and caught the machine by the legs before it was too late, the machine's plated shins trapped in-between a pair of meaty hands. The armored one brutally tugged her foe back to ground level, and then flipped her upside down. Natalie struggled frantically with the controls in hopes of freeing herself - but she would not escape from the BMB's grasp without a souvenir... Keeping Lenneth's legs together in her toothy jaws, Kitamura clenched her fists into armored bricks, and struck like a giant hammer on an anvil.
CRRRUNCH!
The plating had no chance. It crumbled under the power of the hit – although the mamma bear had not struck with all her strength, which would’ve destroyed the legs like twigs – and disfigured the once majestic legs. Kit allowed her opponent to fall down – it was difficult for the machine to set itself upright after being damaged to the joints, the two straining and keeping damaging themselves even more with movement. Circuitry, which had been split by armor plates embedding themselves firmly into them like a group of scaly knives, spat sparks and smoke like venomous snakes. The Martial Master huffed smoke from her maw as her furnace of a body heated up even more, the air beginning to shimmer around her. Her fist clenched and flames burst from within, engulfing the muscular arm in a blanket of fire. The old martial artist whipped her arm forward in a circular motion, and the gout of flame followed suit, like a sort of fiery tai chi. It flowed in the air like a majestic phoenix, and directly into the damaged leg plating. The roaring fire spread like a deadly virus from the leg to the neck of the machine, burning circuits and metal pieces in its wake. As molten slag oozed from the breaches, Lenneth clobbered the Kung-Fu mamma bear in the side with her great sword. The muscles’ thickness forbade it from digging too far, but hot blood began to build up in this section of the Guardian’s prone form.
Unbothered by the cleaving, Kitamura grabbed the blade and swung it, launching her smaller opponent, still attached to her weapon, a good thousand meters back. The blue Beast bunched up her muscles, making her look nearly twice her size, scales spiking up like a big puffer fish. She pulled herself forward into the snowy flooring, then began to roll, huge back spikes embedding themselves in the soil as she did. The ancient guardian circled her foe like a malevolent car wheel, and flames licked her back as she did, soon engulfing her full body. The fire became more and more intense, turning the Rahneek into a living star, a fireball of power, smoke pouring from the monster’s now meteor-like appearance. No amount of freezing missiles was going to stop her fiery powers once unleashed... but this was a simple trick to help her launch herself higher. A burst of flame soon propulsed the monster in the sky, and Natalie tried to move her machine out of the way, but Lenneth’s damaged kneecaps made it too slow. The living blue comet smashed into her, shaking the earth like a massive earthquake. A geyser of snow was projected sky-high and Lenneth was buried underground under Kitamura’s girth, the monstrous brute’s spikes embedded into her armor. The impact had broken a generous portion of the armor, and this would come much handy later on for Kit...
The monster mom extirpated herself from the massive crater she was responsible for the creation of, her enemy pinned to her back – but she did not notice it yet, her immense strength making the extra mass feeling absolutely nothing. It was only when she felt movement in her back that she realized where her enemy was.
“There y’are! I was wonderin’ where ya went.” With that, the dragon-bear retrieved Lenneth from her massive spikes, then wrapped her thick arms around her, crushing the machine with a monstrous bear hug...

(Sorry for the delay. Work ate my time.)
As Kitamura began to squeeze, causing rather considerable damage to Lenneth's midsection and warping armor plating in the process. This did, however, have the advantage of putting Kit's face right in from of Lenneth's. ore specifically, in front of the Zero Cannon firing port, as Natalie took the opportunity to chill Kit out with a blast of freezing cold to the face. Ice crystals rapidly formed across Kit's head, muzzling and suffocating the bear-dragon in its icy embrace. The effects weren't lasting long, as Kit's own internal furnace was flaring up again, but it did cause her release the mech, more out of reflex than anything, and subsequently give Natalie some breathing room.
Natalie quickly hit the retro-thrusters as she used her shield hand grab the chain dangling off the back of Lenneth's head. Although the bladed tip of the weapon was unlikely to penetrate Kit's hide yet, the secondary effect would still prove an electrifying experience...literally. Natalie cracked the Shock Chain like a whip before lashing it across Kit's midsection, discharging its payload into the bear-dragon's body. Kit jerked from the electricity coursing through her form, as a volley of ice missiles streaked across the space between the two fighters, before detonating across Kit's body.
"Just a few more shots like that," Natalie muttered to herself. "And we'll see if that armor's any easier to crack open."
In order to buy some time, Natalie launched off several orbiting drones before hitting the DOS cloak. Hopefully, the drones would be able to pinpoint weaknesses int he armor and exploit them...

((No worries!))
The mama bear grumbled as the drones entered the open wound on her side. They dug into her flesh like terrible termites, carving resistant tissue with difficulty - not extremely hard, though, because of the area already weakened before. She paid no more attention to them than that, however, even as dark red blood oozed freely and tainted her pointy scales crimson - she was too busy scanning around for her opponent. Narrowing tiny eyes shaded under spiked brows, the blue monster observed the ground carefully and focused her hearing. She could hear the sound of snow crunching under the weight of Lenny, and she observed footprints dotting the ground. But mostly, she could see the thermal aura of the machine, which appeared as some sort of orange cloud. She was known, after all, to track her foes for extremely long distances, never losing their track and never stopping. She would always find them... then she would tear them apart - quite an efficient hunter.
The old martial artist spun around on her heels and thrust her arm forward, catching the machine by the throat. The invisible cloaking almost immediately faded to reveal the form of Lenneth. Most likely, Natalie was surprised to be discovered so soon; a mix of surprise and possibly annoyance. The machine's feet wriggled in nothingness as she tried to escape BMB's grasp - she settled on trying to push herself off, but the master of strength and toughness had her covered on that, holding her neck in a grip of titanium. If she tried to pull herself harder, her head, along with the neck, would have stayed in Kit's paw. What the Guardian was up to was not a staring contest - she was slowly raising the neck area's temperature, while Lenny struggled. Smoke soon escaped the armor plates and some circuits bursted or melted - but thankfully, nothing too vital. She did not allow the mecha to fall down yet, as she transferred her grasp from the neck to the head, the pounced!
Flipping herself forward, Kit threw Lenneth forward like a mere baseball, the machine sent flying into a rocky cliff. The armor on the head and shoulder caved in, the machine stuck like an ostrich's head in the sand into the rock. She slid down the structure after extirpating herself from there, and Kit hopped just behind her head on the ground. Her fists clenched, spiking her armor plates like dozens of brass knuckles. She wheeled her arms forward, hammering her fists onto Lenneth's chest with near blurring speed. With each horrifying clobber, the armor splintered and gave in. One of the Wing Chun techniques she had been shown years and years ago - it was kind of amusing how she melted any snow around her with her body's temperature as she practiced a martial art whose name could be translated as "eternal spring".
When she was done "submachine-punching" her enemy, the dragon-bear hopped backwards, then set her arm ablaze, aiming a Charged Punch to Lenny's damaged chest...

As Kitamura came barreling forward like a burning locomotive, Natalie reacted quickly and grabbed the incoming appendage with one hand, while twisting Lenneth around wat the same time.
"You're not the only one who knows some martial arts," she said as she used Kit's own momentum and mass against her by flipping her through the air before she crashed headfirst into the same ice wall that Lenneth had hit earlier. While the impact did little, if any, damage, it did give Natalie some breathing room. It didn't last long, as the ice wall was already melting around Kit's flaring body temperatures. Natalie decided to mitigate this somewhat by firing her Zero Cannon across Kit's back, the icy weapon searing the dragon's flesh and merging her once more with the ice wall.
The effect didn't last long, as steam began to pour off Kit's form, with the Gyradanic monster already forcing her way out of the ice. But Natalie didn't need to use the ice any more. She could see the cracks forming in Kit's armor, as the constant heating and cooling had done a number on her scales. And now was the time to take advantage of it, as Natalie hit the thrusters and rushed forward before jamming her bladed shield into Kit's back, careful to avoid the spines. Although she still faced resistance from the double armor layer, the attack at least penetrated, eliciting a cry of pain from Kit, the first one she'd heard all match.
However, being in such close proximity had its drawbacks, as Kit wrenched an arm free from the ice and smashed it upside Lenneth's head, driving the mechanical valkyrie back a few steps. But Natalie was undeterred, as she surged her machine forward before slashing her sword across Kit's now exposed midsection, drawing another bleeding wound there, before falling back and opening fire with the Breaker Cannons, hoping to further weaken the armor with a direct strike...

The legendary armor plating shook and cracked a little under the attack. The mama bear hated to see her armor crumble. Not out of fear to be harmed, but because her armor was a part of who she was. It had done so in only very few battles; the UCA's fault for weakening it with the help of the Gydranics. Her opponent had broken her armor; now, she would break her. The blue guardian rolled on her belly to avoid another flurry of angry missiles, before her lips drew back into a slight grin, exposing huge ivory fangs - deadly boney blades that nearly reached her chin. From deep, deep underneath the earth, something was being pulled up under her control with an audible rumble. "Come to mamma!" the colossus muttered with a throaty chuckle, as the area began to tremble and shake violently. While one fell with a splat! on her back, the other rose; Lenneth quickly lost her footing and stumbled on her back, while Kit calmly muscled herself to a stance.
Suddenly, the ground split open like a broken coconut, and Lenny was flung airborne like a ragdoll. Extremely hot air from the very depths of the earth was heating her armor and melting it at some parts. Hundreds of meters below, Kitamura was pouring smoke like a chimney from between her armor plates. Huge muscles bulging under her thick hide and scales spiking up, the Beast of Flames ran on all fours, circling her foe. A gigantic wall of flames roared under her control. The column of fire speared the sky and imprisoned Lenneth in the middle as she was still in the midst of burning air - she probably wanted to slap the person who told her to dress warmly, now.
Down below, the Guardian was slowly lumbering towards the rocky outgrowth she had launched the machine into, earlier - as shown by how the hole dug by the robot's head being rammed into it was still there. Her huge arms wrapped around the base of the wall - which was roughly 200 meters tall - her huge size was helping her a bit. The "momster" tightened her grasp around the structure and pulled with a hoarse grunt. With a small tug, the rocky outgrowth was torn clean off the ground. While her opponent was still caught in the inferno, Kit dragged her old, scarred corpse toward the flaming maelstrom. Amidst the flames, Lenneth could see what was the dragon bear doing... but could still not escape the firestorm. Suddenly, the flames surrounding her headed towards the boulder held by Kit, and launched with a burst of fire... into her face.
BANG!
The machine was launched back and crashed on the snow-covered earth like a meteor, the boulder breaking under the impact - an impact that rattled her weakened armor and left it broken and smoldering.
With some difficulty, the robot was back on its feet, smoke still blanketing its metallic form. The armored brute came barreling towards her, footsteps resounding like thunder, and thrust her spiked fist towards the robot's face - only aiming to gaud her into making a wrong move. And she did, just as planned. Kit slowled her fist before it actually struck, and Lenneth caught it - but she was not ready for this:
The spiked colossus latched on her wrist with her other hand and pulled her arm up, forcing the warrior down. Turning around, Kit twisted the mechanical appendage like a mere noodle, tearing connective wires apart - but preventing herself from tearing them all, unwanting to rip the appendage off. She did not want to be attacked with Anti-Beast Blood, because she had a daughter to take care of.
Without letting go off the arm, Kit placed a clawed paw on Lenneth's back, sticking the chain there between her toes, and heated her fist again, aiming to send a wave of flames travel up the arm to the chest...
((Darn it... I tried to put some effort in there, but it still came off bland. I guess creativity just comes in waves. -w- Also, just to clear up something, the wall of flame did not hit Lenneth; only circled her.))

As the waves of flame traveled down Kits arm, numerous drones launched from Lenneth's wings. Even as the flames warped and twisted metal, the drones delivered their payload into the recently created gaps in Kit's armor, as well as other vulnerable areas, like the eyes. Kit relinquised her grip as she bellowed in agony, clutching her eyes. This gave Natalie the briefest of moments to bring her machine back to a stand position. Although one of Lenneth's arms had been damaged, it still functioned enough for her to grab her sword with, before driving it's point into Kit's chest. The bear-dragon still had tough armor, preventing the sword from going all the way in.
Kit, though, wasn't going to just take this lying down, as she attempted to deliver a powerful punch to Lenneth's chest, which Natalie blocked with ehr Barrier Field. Although it prevented the damage from being down to Lenneth directly, the kinetic impact did drive the mech back, as well as dislodge her sword. Natalie needed way to really put the hurt on Kit, and so quickly devised a plan. The drones from earlier, now fully recharged, launched forth once more, swarming around Kit as the spiky beast attempted in vain to swat them away, as Lenneth rocketed into the air.
Kit was distracted by the more present threat of the drones, and didn't notice until the last second, as Lenenth's shadow fell over her head. But by then it was too late, as Lenneth crashed down, feet first, into Kit's skull, putt massive amounts of pressure behind the blow as well as driving the dragon to the ground. As ice crystals and snow settled from the impact, Lenneth stepped back, as the drones she had previously launched moved in for the kill...

"Baaah, I'm too old for this." rolled out the words from seemingly nowhere. The voice was cavernous, deep, seeming to be everywhere at once. Although it spoke on a nearly growling tone, the words were perfectly clear to recognize. Indeed, the martial arts master was more than ten thousand years old, and she had stopped caring about a few things during this span of time. But mainly, it was negative things. Such as pain, which she barely felt anyways due to her sturdy body and tolerance to it. So, the Guardian simply rose, a bit shakily, and wiped dirt from her front side casually with a pair of clawed, slightly bear-like paws, as the tiny drones stabbed into her body. Out of pure luck, one of them struck an area where a weapon from an old opponent - one of the thousands who had tried in vain to take her down - was still stuck between two scales. It drove the spear there further, and, making profit of such aid, the drone managed to pierce all the way through the insanely resilient hide and gained a bit of blood for its effort. Like a crimson worm, blood lazily oozed from the punctured flesh, but Kit barely noticed it - either that, or frankly did not pay attention, or care, to it. The old Beast spun around on her heels to face her opponent - she had to lower her head to look at her properly - and spoke again. "Ya got a bunch ov determination, lady. Pretty strong-willed..." The spiked one lowered her spiked head thoughtfully. Her eyes, from Natalie's perspective, disappearing under spiky brows. A slight smirk formed on the walking fridge's lips. "Much like myself..." The Protector's powerful voice caused Natalie's ears to sizzle, but she appreciated the compliment. "But I digress... we still gotta clash for nothing, hrrmm?"
With this, the discipline one's arm bolted up like blue lightning to catch the blade which the robot wanted to cleave her with. The colliding forces made it so that the bladed edge carved through a bit of flesh on the Martial Master's paw. Dark red painted the blade and the blue hand, and the old brute pulled out the weapon effortlessly from her opponent's grasp, before she planted it in the snow at her side. She then raised her fists and her opponent tried to reel back to escape from close quarters combat, but momma Kit was faster, as she latched thick arms around the machine from behind as she tried to escape and lifted her off the ground in a huge bear hug. The mechanical warrior was pinned to her chest and belly, as ten sharp claws mauled her front side. From the front of her shoulders until the top of her legs, everything was ravaged. However, smoke rising from the robot’s back made it clear that her backside had been affected as well, as the mammoth mom’s burning body heat had been melting the machine’s back armor and a bit of wires which had surfaced.
One could've wondered why the colossus was bothering with martial arts while she could simply use her monstrously immense strength to tear those who opposed her to shreds. It was because she also practised martial arts for her mental well-being and keep herself in good shape, and, mostly, it made her deadlier. What was worse: being faced with a dumb brute or be faced with one who knows exactly what they are doing, one who knows one's weak points and could break them without losing too much energy into it?
The black belt allowed her foe to fall down, the snow unfortunately not cold enough to cool the molten armor down, and observed the trails formed. The chain at the back of her head, for one, had some of its links fused together. She had to chill out!
As Lenneth stumbled forward, preparing to turn around to cleave that walking mass of spikes’ head off, the motherly badass absorbed the heat, which cooled the molten slag into metal. Beneath BMB’s feet, the rocky flooring melted, leaving blazing footprint wherever she stepped. She was going to position herself, when her foot stepped into a puddle. The towering mamma bear froze on place, becoming nothing but a frightened cub as she realized what was mere meters behind her. She remembered when Gorgo had launched her into deep water and tried to drown her, and hoped her current opponent had not noticed; that she would dismiss it as water from melted snow, like the boiling water in her melting footprints...
Thankfully, Lenneth had her back turned. When she spun around, Kit was aligning a muscular shoulder with her and lowering her head to expose her spikes. She preferred her to see nothing but a rampaging kung-fu mama bear than her enemy’s weak point – Kit also hoped that her foe did not know her weak point in the first place...
Her rhino-like head spikes stabbed into her foe’s chest and hauled her up against her, crushing her face against her shoulder. She tried to push herself off to prevent her face from boiling like her front and back’s armor, but was not out of the woods yet, as Kit abruptly slid to a stop, launching the machine into the fissure she had created earlier, where smoke still rose...

Lenneth went sailing through the air before sliding into the fissure, her descent slowed somewhat by Natalie's timely use of Lenneth's sword and shield, as well as the booster engines. Although banged up from the fall, Lenneth still held together. As Natalie forced her machine out of the fissure, she silently thanked her alternate counterpart that had added the onboard temperature controls. She had no idea what she had faced that warranted such a thing, but she was glad to have them now.
As Lenneth finally emerged from the hole, Kit was already preparing to force her back in. Natalie, however, was having none of that, as the Breaker Cannons popped up and delivered their payload into Kit's wounded chest, the force of the blast driving the behemoth back, as the energized beams shredded armor far more easily than her sword had. Unfortunately, their energy consumption rate was less than ideal. As Kit stumbled and tried to recover, Natalie hit the engines again and went rocketing forward, befre slamming her shield arm into Kit's torso. The force of the blow didn't even face the BMB, but the thrust of Lenneth's engines did, as the two went sliding down the icy path to the sea behind them.
Kit was big and Kit was heavy. Likely, she had some difficulty swimming. At the least, the chill artic waters might have an effect on her internal furnace, the same one that Natalie was busy cooling down now by firing her Zero Cannon at Kit's face. Ice crystals formed across her maw as they edged over the ice shelf onto the sea slope proper, before Natalie reared back with her shield arm and prepared to drive the bladed tip into Kit's wounded neck...
