Sariel at first didn't respond, the archangel's body in a sort of still trance. Then, its eyes slowly closed, and it looked up at Rumaka. "Yes... It is a name we of the Angelic High know very well... A name marred in violence, destruction, hatred, and war... "
It took a seat by the wall, the genderless being's wings dropping. "A long time ago, we as a race were among the earliest of creation, blessed by our creator Jinengus. We numbered in the hundreds of millions, an entire civilization that lived in peace and tranquility. All was well... all was peaceful..."
"But then... the balance of power shifted. Those who were supposed to keep the afterlife in check ran wild with their power, and threatened to destroy the world we knew. Zekshi the Defiler... Garduk, the Destroyer... and Ranukada, the Devastator. They desired to twist the world into their own sick perversion of order and justice, to topple what our creator had sought so hard to lay the foundation for... And, they had to be stopped. "

"No, NO! Everything we worked for, everything she worked for. It was-it was all a lie?!"
Seriously? The equine's trust once again, taken advantage of and tossed aside. First Kazami goes insane, then he finds out his backers would probably betray him. '
Shit...'
The photokinetic pegasus slumped into a heap, muttering under his breath. "It can't have been in vain..."
(I'm attempting to close the plot hole now. I can't just retcon it...)

"The lies of Zekshi are appealing to those who hear of it." Sariel said, raising itself back onto its feet. "He speaks like what he means is the truth, that he truly does want whatever you desire... when really, it is only to advance his own goals, goals to subvert and pervert the natural order around him, and throw it into chaos and destruction. We were told by him when we went to war that he seeked only the best for the cosmos... when his lies could not have been more apparent."
it began to walk around the slumped equine. "We fought it, 250 million against three... We fought as hard and valiantly as we could, to bring the Maluvor to justice. Others who knew of the great calamity that was upon us came to our aid... the High Council of Hell, Yzazil and Aurorus came to help us, all desiring to see the monsters stopped... The fight was brief, and we managed to seal the evil away... but it was at great cost. Just to seal the Maluvor away... we were downed from 250 million... to a mere 5 million. The High Council suffered even greater losses... And for what? A peace that would be destroyed as we would begin fighting amongst ourselves, overthrowing and smiting our own creator, before plunging into a civil war that destroyed what remained of us? The Maluvor did more than just threaten our lives... they destroyed the balance that once existed, and brought pure evil into our world."

"Shit, NO! How stupid could I have been? Should've listened to the fucking plant..." The equine huffed under his breath, barely coherent in his rage. "Xena, I'm sorry..." The equine whispered more softly this time, but the rage bottled up inside the equine's shattered heart was agonizingly obvious. Everything... The tables had just been completely turned, flung overhead, in fact.
His ideals burnt out like flickering flames.
Xena...
How poetic, the equine's charismatic speech given just minutes earlier could relate to him with astounding new depth.
Rumaka's pathetic form suddenly stirred, shocking the archangel with a message, loud and clear.
"What in figurative Hell should I do now?..."

"Cast down Zekshi's lies." Sariel told him, the face of the Archangel not wavering. "Spread the world of the evil he poses. As dangerous as he is now, he is only more dangerous with allies believing his deception. Informing any and all of the danger he and his allies pose will rob him of additional help, and render him less of a threat... unfortunately, that is all you can do..."
The archangel's eyebrows furrowed for a second. "You mention a plant... tell me, what does a plant have to do with this?"

"Kazami, Yuuka Kazami. That bitch is fucking bonkers." Rumaka brayed, his lips forming into a thin, wiry smile at the mere mention of the crocodilian sadist. "When I was still affiliated with that serpent tongued wraith, Zekshi, she tried to warn me of the true hearts of the Maluvor." The equine's gaze shifted back to his original stern expression. "Blinded by arrogance, I paid no heed to said warning. Consequently, she sent Salavance to do what she must've thought was grunt work, and end what she called our 'pathetic existence.'

It wasn't Yuuka Kazami's name that caught Sariel off guard. Afterall, it knew perfectly well that the plant sadist was here at the UCA. It was Salavance that caught the ancient Archangel off guard, the seraphim staggering back, eyes wide with confusion and shock. "That... That cannot be true. Salavance has been deceased for over three million years. The records are all there, the eye witnesses, the lack of a body having survived the attack... You must be mistaken. Salavance the Golden cannot be alive and well. He simply cannot!" The archangel nearly shouted. It was, impossible. There was just no way. They had performed a detailed analysis of the aftermath of the conflict between the Legends and Salavance, and all the evidence had pointed to the beast perishing. He hoped it was just an illusion, an extension of Yuuka Kazami, anything but the real deal...

"That was definitely him. His fabled battle prowess surely was retained at least. enormous fangs, razor sharp claws, serrated pincer-like tail. It was all there. The Golden One survived." The equine began pacing once more. His whole world had been turned upside down by just one conversation with the Hellian wiseman, so it would come as no shock if this detail, now minor in the changed equine's mind, was regarded as irrelevant or false by the seraphim. Nonetheless, the photo kinetic pegasus pleaded his case on the existence of Salavance. At least the alteration of this minor factoid wouldn't send his ideals to proverbial Hell. "I myself am not familiar with Hellian mythos, but one tale I've surely heard is one of a drake, clad in gold, with control over both the blazing element of light AND the chaotic energy of the shadows. I have definitely fought with a beast such as that described in your lore." The equine's face grew grim at the thought of his legendary battle with Salavance the Golden. "What a brutal fracas that was.. Xena and I were able to fight him to a standstill, but not without being horribly maimed in the process." The equine shifted to expose his marred flank, and three very particular scars became instantly visible, ones that could only have been created by the triple tails of the primal terror.

Sariel didn't respond, atleast expression-wise. He stood there, eyes peering into Rumaka's own. "I am afraid that does match the description. And those wounds.... I have seen them before. There is no doubt in my mind now. Against the odds, against the hopes of the High Council and my own sister, the cursed monster that is Salavance the Golden lives. Truly, this is a dark times for us all... If you heard that tale, then surely, you heard of the Twilight of the Gods? How Salavance brought upon the dark ages to the world Crigan and Mara call home, and helped begin three million years of eternal suffering and damnation?"

"I am no stranger to the tales of the destruction and despair wrought by the Golden One." The equine stroked is chin with a hoof. "If he is really powerful enough to bring about an entire era of terror, then answer me this. Why hasn't he slaughtered the UCA? And why is it that a being as lowly as I survived an encounter with the gold-clad drake?" This message was so loud that it hit Sariel's mind like a freight train. Rumaka was seriously on edge, he was really hoping the myths had been embellished, but with his luck, that was doubtful.

"Because, that was not its desire." Sariel said. "You said before that Yuuka Kazami unleashed it upon you. No doubt, it was her sick method of humor, though that does raise unfortunate implications... If Salavance the Golden and Yuuka Kazami are indeed in league with one another, then we have more to fear than I thought. Salavance is doing Yuuka's dirty work for her, and she is sitting back and laughing at the whole thing... and if they were to join forces with the Maluvor..." He shook his head. He didn't want to think of that notion, the terrible, evil notion of such evils joining forces.

"Unfortunately, the sadist has already mentioned a deal between her grotesque visage and the deceitful bastards." The equines heart hung heavy, as he realized how brash he was, not looking at the true picture.

Sariel nearly reeled back from the news. This was... this was terrible, most terrible indeed. His own sister's attempt to stop Yuuka Kazami in her tracks had backfired in the worst way imaginable. It was... It was just unexpected, impossible to phantom. he Maluvor, and Yuuka Kazami, in league with one another... and with Salavance as well thrown in... The angel doubled over, hands at its mouth. It was trying its hardest not to vomit, but it felt so... so sick, so disturbed by this... "This... This is... Everything we've done... all for naught."

"I'm truly sorry that your efforts have all gone to waste, Sariel." The equine's head drooped low at the mere sight of the archangel's grief. "There are plenty of individuals here that are strong enough to fight them off, but for now, I'm afraid there's nothing we can do." Rumaka continued to pace across the room, his own grief being suppressed by labored footsteps. "As much as I want to tear their hearts out myself, in this synthetic prison, we can't hurt them, and they can't hurt us."

"I... I wish I could say it is alright... but I would be lying to myself, and to you." Sariel said as he kept himself under control. He couldn't panic... Not now. He needed to keep a straight head on. "I fear that death in this place may not be so strict as you believe... There are... records, of several who have perished here." Sariel said. "Mostly, they were not in actual fights, but outside... A few friends of my sister were kind enough to inform us of these deaths. Razin, Eleking, and Gwangi and his band of friends... the last of which was preformed by Yuuka herself. Death may be frowned upon in this place, Rumaka, but that does not mean it cannot happen."
