GorgoVS. CarcinosREF: HayesAJones ARENA: A field of underwater ruins, encrusted with coral. It's deep enough for both monsters to completely submerge, but shallow enough for Gorgo to surface for air.

The beauty of the majestic Archipelago was perpetual, even after much of it had been ravaged by other, more powerful monster conflicts. Even as the seaside realm was scorched black by monsters of evil, cruelty, and just plain insanity, another, more serene section of the watery realm remained. Today, it was to be the battleground for two friends. No world is in danger, no lives at risk, no demons, tyrants, or evils: just a good, honest sparring match between two buddies.
A ray of light cut across the archipelago, signallnig the summoning of the first combatant: Gorgo. The saurian glanced about the trully sublime arena, his midn drifting off to memories of his mother, and all the other Gorgosauruses he once knew. But now was not the time for such things. He was to be his friend's sparring buddy!
BUT: just becuase they were friends did not mean he was going to go easy on him. Standing atop a tall rock, Gorgo let out a mighty roar, signalling he was ready for combat...

The Archipelago of Ujiak, like most of the other locations around this planet, was scarred with many conflicts. But some locations wore fewer marks of destruction than others. This underwater refuge, with great coral-encrusted monuments in stone, was one of them.
The second beam of light cut through the water, revealing... a giant coral-encrusted rock on the seafloor. Gorgo looked down at it, a bit confused. This was his opponent? A rock? But before he could say anything, said rock began to move. It rose up off the seabed, and sprouted enormous claws, legs, and crackling antennae. Yes, in case you were wondering, I was that rock - or at least, disguised as a rock. My friends call me Carcinos - well, everyone does anyway. I was here because both of us wanted our spirits to be lifted, and what better way to do so than with a good test-battle?
As Gorgo smiled in anticipation, I raised my two pairs of claws, electricity crackling around them. And, my maw open wide to display my rings of fierce teeth, I let out an earth-shaking, ear-rattling, sea-splitting...
Yay.
Well, that was rather... anticlimactic. The dinosaur blinked in shock, and then smacked his forehead as he started to sink towards the ocean floor. "Ugh... Note to self, teach this crab to roar eventually." Well, it's not my fault that I'm naturally docile, I replied, my squeak sounding like dolphin chatter. Figuring that I might as well improve my entrance a little, I raised my pincers, and the electric charge surged out of them, arcing back to connect with my tail paddle, forming a field of lightning that surrounded my exterior. "Well, that's... better," said Gorgo, alighting on the seabed to face me. "So, may the best monster win?" Agreed, I said, as the electric charge died down, if only for this moment.

The seas boiled in the archipelago, as the two friends locked gazes with each other. Gorgo's crimson eyes locked with Carcinos' four golden eyes. Things were about to get chaotic. Bubbles rose from both combatants' maws, as they began to approach each other deep beneath the sea. Crcinos' claws were ready to strike, and Gorgo's shap dagger-like talons were readied to strike his crabby foe. Yet neither budged, out of fear of crippling the other.
But Gorgo had waited long enough. If his buddy wanted to prove himself, he needed to fight NOW.
Gorgo suddenly swam towards Carcinos with surprising agility and majesty. The crab brought his claws in front of his face, looking a bit frightened by the prospect. Gorgo resisted the urge to simply let hi mget the first hit and instead slammed his body into the giant rainbow crab. The force knocked Carcinos off balance and sent him drifting deeper into the sea. The crab squealed in protest as he drifted deadly in the sea. Gorgo didn't pause for a moment; instead, he dove towards his foe and slammed his tail into his form, the blade-liek structures striknig the colorful creature's carapace and leaving a slight crack in the armor. Carcinos groaned and swam back a bit.
Gorgo sighed in disappointment.
"Come one, Carcinos- hit me!" Gorgo growled, bubbles rising up from his maw. "If you want to get better at fighting, yougot to show some backbone!"
"Okay..." Carcinos said as he swam a bit closer to Gorgo. "Is this close enough?"
"Yes," Gorgo grunted. "Now, block and counter!"
Gorgo slashed towards Carcinos, but the crab managed to block it with one of his claws. Gorgo rose an impressed eyebrow, before this friend struck him with a thunder empowered fist, sending him reeling as his body sparked with electricity.
"Wow! That was a lot stronger than I expected," Carcinos hissed.
"Yes... that's how you do it." Gorgo smiled before he rushed up to Carcinos and delivered a powerful kick to his side, pushing him through the water, but doing little to his carapace.
"Ow!" Carcinos grumbled. "What was that for?!"
"We're fighting, remember?" Gorgo said.
"Oh, yeah." Carcinos chuckled. "How could I forget?"
Gorgo grunted before he swam towards the crab monster again, ready to strike him as he passed by...

To be fair, this was my first solo match, ever. The one time I ever had to break out the big guns was alongside the pterosaur twins against an opponent whose appearance, name, and abilities I couldn't remember. Then again, it had happened so fast that I'd barely had time to recall what was going on. Today, however, was very different. Not only was I determined to find out Gorgo's abilities, but Gorgo was also teaching me to be more assertive - a must-have for the UCA. Gorgo's next strike sent me spinning wildly across the reef, tucking under my shell in fright. With a crash, I ended up sprawled on one of the great hunks of rock that must have been an ancient temple in the days of old. "Come on, Crabby. MAN UP!" Gorgo snarled as he headed towards me again. "The Arena doesn't tolerate weakness." I know! I cried, flailing and snapping my claws in panic as I tried to figure out how to fend him off. By sheer luck, I managed to smack him across the chest, sending him reeling, and as his tail came within reach, I instinctively seized it in my pincers, holding it tight for dear life as I flailed around wildly, unwittingly swinging my opponent around with me. Gorgo found himself straining and struggling as he tried to break free of my vice-like grip, but I ended up pounding him against the broken columns and platforms again and again. It was his pained cry as I smacked him against the ocean floor that made me realize what I was doing, and with a final swing, I released my claw, sending him sailing towards the surface. The great dinosaur breached like a whale! It was an impressive sight, even from under the water, as he inhaled a much-needed gasp of air and dove under once more. "All right! Now we're talking!" Gorgo cried, pumping his fist with one hand and rubbing his pinched tail tip with the other. "So, care to get serious now?" Ummm, sure, I guess, I said, stepping forward cautiously. The dinosaur moved so fast that I barely had time to block, and next moment, I was spinning through the water thanks to a blow from his tail. However, I soon noticed that I was spinning faster and faster and faster still. Within moments, I was spinning so fast that the water itself was moving around me. "Whoa!" Gorgo cried as I floated away. "Carcinos, are you really doing that?!" But it was then that I banked across the water, my whirlpool in full force. Erm... I started, passing dangerously close to him. I'm not entirely sure... "But why aren't you attacking?" Gorgo asked with a mixture of awe and irritation. "Why don't you just go on the offensive?" All right, since you want to know... I said as I barreled towards him. The smug look on his face quickly transformed into a look of Oh Crap before the malestrom swept him up. Your tail swipe is off by a few feet when it should contact the bottom cervical segment for maximum stunning potential, your claw attacks are berserk-style, not precision-based, your Sonic Roar needs to be aimed at the auditory regions for the best effect, you used a roundhouse kick where a kangaroo kick would be most effective and you aimed it at the side of the body instead of at the more vulnerable abdomen, and your defensive strategy is too focused on taking attacks when you're supposed to evade the ones that will do you more damage. I finally stopped spinning at that point, coming to rest on the sandy part of the seabed, but my whirlpool still raged across the field, with Gorgo in the middle. If I'd had vertebrate eyelids, I would have blinked. But, uh... you know... um, whatever you want to do is fine...

Gorgo struggled to free himself from the whirlpool, feeling himself get sucked deeper and deeper into the spiraling vortex of death, his powerful lungs holding plenty of oxygen, but still slowly running out. Much to Gorgo's relief, the whirlpool died down, giving Gorgo a couple seconds to recover his strength. His eyes glanced about as Carcinos began to swim towards him, claws sparking with electricity as he prepared to strike him with his electric weaponry.
As soon as Carcinos came within range, Gorgo dove under Carcinos' strike and delivered a double-kick to Carcinos' softer underbelly. The force of the blow elicited a high-pitched scream of pain from the crab beast, before a second blow in the form of a double claw strike raked across the belly armor, blood seeping into the water as Carcinos cried out in pain. Gorgo grunted.
"Rule number one, Crabby: NEVER give your opponent advice," Gorgo grumbled in a sagacious manner, a bit out-of-character of the normally barbaric saurian.
Carcinos simply groaned as Gorgo spoke, nodding his head in agreement. As the gargantuan crustacean turned his body around, his face was met with a point-blank snic roar, sending the armored beast rolling through the sea before slamming into one of the rocks. Carcinos groaned, and Gorgo roared, bubbles risign from both their maws. Gorgo soon began to swim towards his combat buddy, readying his claws for attack, his muscular legs kicking to help him swim, as his tail paddled up and down to steer him....

I was hoping that you'd think about that in a fight with someone else, but I see your point, I chuckled nervously, just as Gorgo struck with his claws at the same spot he'd hit. I could feel the impact almost bringing me to the surface as I struggled through the water. My claws came into contact with something and I grabbed onto it to keep myself from going out of control.
The grunt of pain told me that it was, in fact, Gorgo's arm. Thinking fast, I grabbed the other arm and twisted my claws together, pulling his arms around his back so he wouldn't try to claw my face off. My slashing claws came out at last, cutting into the small of his back... and sending a jolt of electricty into the wound for some reason. Gorgo reacted with a strained snarl as I realized what I'd done. With an embarrassed chuckle, I let go, which was a mistake. Gorgo came back at me and whacked me across the face, again, with his powerful tail. "Rule number two: if you've got your enemy, NEVER let him go," he added. Sorry, I laughed, embarrassed, before he came at me with another double-kick to the same wounded spot. My legs came together and enclosed him like a cage, their sharp points cutting into his skin. The two of us spun around, whirling and readying our claws to strike again. Both of us just missed, but as soon as my claw closed, the electric pulse sent him reeling back once more. The dinosaur drifted for a moment, a bit confused, but then an appreciative smile spread across his face. "Still, you never cease to surprise me," he said. "For a guy who tends to masquerade as a coral reef all day, you've got lots of stuff in you." Self-preservation, I guess, I replied, as I decided to play it serious this time and promptly scuttled towards him, readying my claws for another electro-magnetic pulse.

As Carcinos unleashed his pulse attack, Gorgo gracefully dodged to the side. The massive saurian's webbed hands and powerful tail propelled him through the water at shocking speeds, kicking up currents as he swam towards Carcinos, claws readied to strike. The saurian growled, bubbles rising from his mouth, as he reached out to claw at his foe.
But Carcinos, much to his surprise and enjoyment, struck first.
With lightning fast reflexes, the crab's claws slammed into Gorgo's face, sending a high voltage through his form. Thankfully, his rubbery skin was resilient to such damage, but that didn't make him immune. The pain from the strike was substantial, but Gorgo managed to fight through the pain and crack a smile.
"Good, good!" Gorgo chuckled. "Now you're gettin' it!"
As soon as the saurian recovered, he spotted the crab lunging towards him with surprising speed. With quick reflexes, Gorgo delivered a vicious forward kick to Carcinos' face, forcing him backwards a bit, and making the crab like critter rub his nose. Gorgo whirled around, bubbles rising from the quick maneuver, before he opened his mouth and loosed a sonic roar, the concussive force of the blast sending Carcinos reeling even further in the water before slamming into one of the rock pillars. The crab grunted as he righted himself quickly.
"Y'know, this isn't as bad as I thought," Carcinos said as he saw Gorgo approaching.
"Not everyone is going to be as friendly to you as I am, crabby," Gorgo replied sternly.
"True enough," Carcinos sighed.
Gorgo chuckled deeply.
"Ah, Carcinos.... you are wise, yet you still have so much to learn about the world."
As Carcinos pondered this statement, Gorgo lashed out with his claws. Though Carcinos blocked the blow, he could feel his buddy's claws raking across his rainbow-colored carapace. As soon as he moved his claws from in front of his face, Gorgo spun around, aiming his tail for his buddy's visage...

WhiteFireRodan, you've had over seven days to reply. Since you received no warning because my own forgetfulness (whoops), I'll give ya' an extra twenty four hours to respond.
I understand you have finals and are busy though, so if danzilla agrees, we can temporarily put this match on hold. That sound good? Would hate to have to call this on disqualification.

As Gorgo's tail came at me, I just managed to duck into my shell, and lost only a few pieces of coral. I'd regrow these over time, but what was more important was defending myself. As a passive beast, I was not used to fighting, but now that I'd gotten the hang of it, well, I supposed it was only fair that I learned my own moves too. The tail-swipe bought him just within reach of my pincers, and without hesitation I reached out and grabbed his tail to pull him in close, before smacking him with a Thunder-Punch to the face. Gorgo recoiled, momentarily stunned. I could have sworn I'd felt the bones of his skull crack somewhat. Oh, I'm sorry, I chuckled. Did I overdo it? "No no, I'm fine," Gorgo replied, baring his teeth in a smile... before rushing in and biting down on the joint connecting my big right claw to its arm. The jolt of pain made me react instinctively. I grabbed his snout, and pried off his jaws as gently as possible... before throwing him across the arena and into a sunken column. How's that? "Not bad for a first-timer. I see you're getting the hang of this." You can say that. As Gorgo rose upwards, charging his sonic roar, so did I with my electric discharge. Together, as one, we fired towards each other, concentrating our attacks with all our might...

Gorgo's sonic roar tore through the oceanic waves, bubbling forth and colliding with Carcinos' electrical blast (somehow). The two duked it out for a few moments, pushing their energies into their attacks in the hopes of getting an advantage over the other. Finally, the stalemate was broken, when Gorgo's sonic roar broke through Carcinos' high voltage blast, sending the crab reeling backwards.
"Nice try, crabby, but you're gonna have to do better than that!" Gorgo chuckled.
Carcinos cracked a smile, before he launched himself at Gorgo like a meteor, slamming his hard-shelled body right into Gorgo. The force of the blow shook the saurian's entire body upon impact, and sent him reeling through the water, before he crashed through one of the pillars and broke it to pieces. Gorgo growled, and rolled himself over to face Carcinos, brewing up bubbles in the process. As Gorgo's red eyes locked on to Carcinos, the crustacean lord of the seas launched himself at Gorgo once again.
This time, however, Gorgo was prepared. As Carcinos neared, claws outstretched to snap at his friend, the saurian grappled the large appendages with his hands, and spun Carcinos around in the water. The crab's eyes widened, before Gorgo let go, sending the crab into a wild spinning frenzy, before he thumped against one of the stone walls and landed on the sea floor once more.
"Excellent move, crabby," Gorgo growled. "Almost got me that second time."
"Thanks!" Carcinos replied happily.
Gorgo smiled as best he could. "Ha ha... now, dodge this!"
Gorgo suddenly dove down with lightning fast speed, tail paddling to keep his momentum. Carcinos managed to move to the side, but not before Gorgo raked his claws against his buddy's carapace. Carcinos hissed with discontent, just as Gorgo slowed to a stop and whirled back to his foe. The saurian growled, as Carcinos clacked his claws at his opponent, the two circling each other. Gorgo soon, growled, before he launched a roundhouse kick towards Carcinos' face...
