All monsters should be on the 100 meter Heisei Godzilla scale, meaning most monsters are around 100 meters tall. 130 meters is the max for normally-shaped monsters, but long-necked monsters (like King Ghidorah) will be allowed a max of 150 meters. Keep the weights within reason, too. On occasion, players may be allowed to make monsters that exceed the standard parameters, but they must ask permission to do so first.
Description
Be as detailed as possible. Pictures are preferable (if it’s on Imageshack, DeviantArt, or some other image hosting site, please make sure to link to the image itself, not the page it’s posted on).
Note: Players are allowed to use pre-existing monsters, as long as they differ in some reasonably significant way from the original. For example, a person is allowed to use their own personal version of Godzilla, but cannot just use one of the various versions from the movies. Players can use movie concept art for their monsters, but only one person can use a particular piece of concept art. So if someone is already using the concept art that you want to use, tough luck.
Personality
A basic outline of the monster’s personality and combat style. It should be detailed enough to allow other players to keep your monster in-character in their posts. In the case of piloted mechs, you should just simply state that their personality is the same as their pilot.
Attacks
Describe what the attack looks like and where it originates (mouth, hands, etc). When describing attacks, try to give a comparison to known monster attacks.
Ex:
- Death Ray: A pink and purple beam fired from Shicaca’s mouth. About equal in power to Heisei Mechagodzilla’s Mega-Buster.
Limited Attacks
Any excessively powerful attacks (like Heisei/GFW Godzilla’s Spiral beam) will be limited to two uses per match. The only exception to this is for attacks that have a mechanic that inherently limits their use (like Heisei Mechagodzilla’s Plasma Grenade; it can only be used by absorbing the opponent’s attacks). A monster can have no more than one limited attack.
Banned Attacks
One-hit kill and kamikaze attacks are strictly prohibited. In addition, attacks that can transform part or all of an opponent’s body into something else are not allowed. In other words, no turning opponents into stone or freezing them solid or any of that stuff. Encasing an appendage in stone or ice is fine, though.
Finally, please don’t give your monster a ridiculous number of attacks. Try to keep it in the single digits.
Powers
Powers are abilities that your monster possesses that are not attacks, such as flight or shields. Don’t make your monster obnoxiously fast, either. Keep it below mach 5. Regeneration and invincibility of any sort are not allowed. Also, as with attacks, don’t give your monster an excessive number of powers.
Weakness
Any weaknesses your monster has. This is only for specific weaknesses like Destoroyah’s extreme reaction to freezing attacks, or Hedorah’s susceptibility to dehydration. There’s no need to list generic weaknesses like lack of ranged weaponry.
Roster
Players are only allowed to have a maximum of 8 monsters on their roster at any given time. That isn’t to say that you’re stuck with the same five monsters for your entire stay at the RPG, though. The UCA is a tough business, and sometimes monsters get seriously injured to the point that they aren’t able to compete for a while. Sometimes they’re even forced to retire because of their injuries. In very rare and extreme circumstances, monsters are even killed. Regardless of whether it’s because of injury leave, retirement, or death, you can switch out one monster for another. To do so, ask a mod to move the monster to the Injured/Retired/Deceased Monsters subforum, as well as informing them of the reason for the move. Additionally, you should post something in the Hub regarding this (i.e., if the monster is injured, make a post in which it’s taken away for medical treatment). However, you can’t be switching out your monsters every other week just because you feel like it. Keep it to a minimum.
Also, it’s a good idea to try to get a mix of both good and evil monsters on your roster, and maybe even some neutral ones. That way you won’t be stuck with all your monsters playing similar roles and will add variety to your playing experience.
