Personality:
Suchodon is a cunning and intelligent fighter, preferring to use his speed and agility to outmaneuver his opponent while getting in attacks of his own. He likes to use the terrain to his advantage when possible to set up ambushes and sneak attacks.
Attacks:
- Jaws: Suchodon’s jaws are immensely powerful, capable of exerting pressure in excess of 300,000 tons.
- Claws: Suchodon has 3 massive, strongly-hooked claws on each hand which are capable of tearing into even tough hides and inflicting tremendous wounds.
- Skull: The structure of Suchodon’s skull and jaw are very crocodilian in that the bones are completely fused and very thick and heavy. This degree of reinforcement is obviously necessary to withstand his tremendous bite force, but also has the secondary effect of making his head a very powerful bludgeoning device.
- Venom: Suchodon possesses neurotoxic venom, received from his Komodo dragon DNA. Two large glands located along either side of his lower jaw have multiple ducts which lead to the spaces between his teeth, meaning the venom seeps into the wounds inflicted by his teeth instead of being directly injected. Immediate effects are excruciating pain and a rapid drop in blood pressure, the latter of which often leads to weakness and dizziness. After a few seconds, numbness and swelling begin to spread from the bite area. The venom also causes hemorrhaging of the bite wound, and potentially of internal organs if enough venom is introduced.
- Death Roll: The maneuver famously performed by crocodilians to tear apart prey. Suchodon can do it as well, and heaven help the creature that he does it to. Rarely performed on land because of the difficulty in doing so, but he uses it very often in water.
Powers:
- Armor scutes: The crocodilian armor scutes along Suchodon’s neck and back provide him with an extra degree of protection against attacks directed at his spine while still allowing him great flexibility.
- Speed: Suchodon’s top running speed is 700 mph (for reference, if he was 10 feet tall his top speed would be about 30 mph), though most battles don’t really allow him to get up to this. He’s also very agile.
- Adept Swimmer: Suchodon can swim at up to 400 knots and can remain submerged for extended periods. When he goes underwater, nictitating membranes cover his eyes to protect them.
- Smell: The vomeronasal organ located on the roof of Suchodon’s mouth allows him to detect the faintest of smells by flicking his forked tongue out and then touching it to the organ.
- Dermal Pressure Receptors: Located along Suchodon’s upper and lower jaws are numerous tiny sensory pits which look like black speckles. These pits detect the slightest vibrations in water. Their usefulness is rather limited, but they’re noteworthy regardless.
- Immune system: Suchodon's immune system is absolutely amazing thanks to both his alligator and Komodo dragon gene donors. Both reptiles have incredibly powerful immune systems capable of fighting off practically any infection with exceptional speed and efficiency. So basically, he's essentially immune to disease, be it caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi, whatever.
- Circulatory system: Suchodon’s circulatory system is basically identical to that of a crocodilian. It allows him to control his blood pressure and flow to an extent. The primary function of this is to divert blood away from non-essential areas to allow him to stay submerged for longer periods, but it also allows him to prevent severe blood loss from wounds by constricting the damaged blood vessels.
- Respiratory system: Suchodon has an incredibly efficient respiratory system, inherited from his ostrich DNA. Like all avian respiratory systems it allows for constant flow of air through his lungs, extracting the maximum oxygen from the air and enabling him to maintain high levels of activity (i.e. running or fighting) for extended periods without tiring.
