Name: Nanook
Height: 80 meters at the shoulder.
Length: 140 meters
Weight: 110 000 tons
History: Nanook is not a kaiju known to the human population of his world, other than a few Inuit’s and travelers that venture into his cold home in the North Pole. The bear was first discovered when Chimbwi, a hyena kaiju from the hot plains of Africa, was pursued across the globe by his gigantic and powerful nemesis, Nandi. The Great White Bear met the scared and lost Chimbwi when he had wandered into the arctic tundra, and displayed an astounding act of compassion by warming up the cold hyena with his own body heat. The two quickly became fast friends. When Nandi arrived, the bear and hyena joined forces and managed to drive away the giant Andrewsarchus, but not without Nanook sustaining permanent scars to the left side of his head.
Description:
Personality: Nanook is a friendly and curious animal, unafraid of anything due to being the apex predator of his environment. If not hungry, he will attempt to befriend and play with kaiju or even humans he comes across, though he will never attack an ally even if starving. He has been known to eat humans, but this is only when the bear is hunting. Otherwise, Nanook poses no threat the mankind. While kind and loyal, one should do well to not provoke the Great White Bear, as he can be extremely dangerous if he feels threatened.
Attacks:
T&C: The Great White Bear is a powerful melee fighter. While he doesn’t know any fighting styles (martial arts, wrestling, boxing, etc), he is a very adept fighter nonetheless. His long claws can carve through armor and flesh alike. Backed up by his strength, these make very deadly weapons.
Icicle Spikes: Thanks to the super cooling gas his hair produces, Nanook can build up sharp icicle spikes and armor around his body, which further aids him in melee combat.
Powers:
Strength: Like all polar bears, Nanook is extremely powerful, able to lift three times his own body weight, an astounding 350 000 tons. A single swipe from his paws can easily floor most opponents, and powerful muscles give his jaws a bone-crushing bite force. Add his heavy weight and large size into the mix, and you have a kaiju that can manhandle smaller monster if he gets close.
Sprint: Like most bears, Nanook usually lumbers about at a slow pace to conserve energy. However, he can sprint at an incredible 600 miles per hour when needed. Nanook rarely, if ever runs this fast for a lengthily amount of time.
Insulation: Nanook is covered in a thick layer of blubber and a duel layer of fur, a thick, dense under-fur and a layer of long “guard hairs”. This not only makes the great white bear all but immune to freezing temperatures, but also acts as a protective armor in melee combat. His thick fur coat is resilient against sharp weapons, and his blubber lessens physical blows to a degree that he would hardly notice them. His insulation is so powerful, that he also cannot feel pain from fire-based attacks… though they still do as much damage to him as they would to other kaiju.
Icy Coat: Unlike normal polar bears, Nanook is not in danger of overheating, even if in a hot environment, such as the volcano or wasteland. His guard hairs give off a freezing gas that cools him down to a comfortable degree. This gas is light blue, and while it doesn’t pose any harm to opponents, it can create a build up of sharp icicle spikes and ice armor, especially if combined with moisture. While this coating of ice can easily be shattered with blunt force, it provides excellent resistance to sharp objects. Unless the weapon is aided by heat, like a laser horn, the ice armor is nigh impenetrable.
Snow Shoes: Nanook possesses large feet that distribute his weight while walking on snow or ice, and also aid in swimming. The pads of his feet are covered in small dermal bumps, which help to provide traction on slippery surfaces like ice.
Stealth: Nanook can be very stealthy, despite his size, though any stealth tactics he may try are only successful in Arctic environments, where his fur provides camouflage. His insulation also hides his body heat, making him invisible to infrared vision and sensors.
Sense of Smell: Nanook has an extremely well developed sense of smell, helping him to detect hidden opponents by the scent of their very breath.
Bipedal: Nanook can rear on his hind legs in combat, allowing him the use of his forepaws in a more practical fashion. This gives the bear a towering height of 140 meters.
Climbing: His long claws, great strength, and dermal bumps allow Nanook the ability to climb vertical surfaces just as well as his black bear cousins.
Swiming: Nanook is an excellent swimmer.
Weakness:
Aquakinetics/Cryokinetics can use Nanook’s own ice armor to their advantage.
