As Halion One prepared to strike while the metaphorical iron was hot, Golemech had other plans. A pulse of gravity waves erupted from his body, throwing Halion One back, as well as having the added benefit of blasting all the sand around him free. Halion One slammed into the ground, a metallic screech escaping his frame as it was rocked by the impact. But, the Merksis mech was undeterred, and was in the process of getting back up, when it noticed something odd. Golemech, despite his prior attempts to take any advantage he could find, was using the opportunity to...gather discarded scrap with his Gravity Cannon, as a spiny sphere of armor plates and wires formed in front of the machine. Golemech was also periodically zapping it with his massive shoulder crystal, causing the amalgam to glow hot as parts fused together, strengthening the object as a whole.
Halion One decided to attack before Golemech was finished, and fired several shots from the EML at Golemech, the rounds perforating the machine's exterior, but not stopping Golemech, as he finished the formation of his makeshift weapon. Golemech swung the flail via gravity leash and smashed it into Halion's chest, caving in armor and knocking the Merhksis machine back. Halion One's recovery was dashed short with a blow to the head, as the gravity flail smashed into his head, driving him to his knees, whereupon Golemech planned to smash him into the ground, as he swung the gravity flail again...

As the flail came down, a massive wall of flames collided with the gravity blast, sending Golemech lurching back, the flaming blow clubbing his chest like the giant hammer of a god. Halion One’s burly hand wrapped around the made up weapon and tossed it aside, as the damaged mech slowly heaved himself to a stance. His brick-like fist clenched tightly before it began to surge with power. Soon, it started to shake somewhat as it mustered the electric energy across its form. Spiked, clawed fingers uncompressed suddenly, and a mighty discharge pummeled Golemech. The harmless light blue streaks stretched across his figure and rendered him immobile, imprisoning him in a prison of electric leashes. The Mehrksis lumbered towards his downed opponent, nudging his arm with a foot to make sure he could not move, and sticking his tongue out: a sign of annoyance after being tossed around so much.
The mechanical behemoth of flame and lightning hoisted his clawed foot over his opponent’s damaged cranium. However, although he could not really move, his cannon arm could, and dragged the makeshift weapon closer... While Halion’s main pair of eyes were concentrated on his foot and Golemech’s head, the others were scanning around – the third checking behind, and the first having a nice view of the weapon being pulled forward. Alerted by this, the titanic warrior threw his arm upwards, almost in an uppercut motion, to whip the weapon back with a powerful backhand move. A clang! resounded, but Golemech was apparently well determined to escape his shocking prison, as he grabbed the weapon again and hurled it at his opponent’s direction with even more speed.
This time, the weapon collided with its target!
With a protesting sound of armor plating being crushed and smoking, Halion whipped his head upwards and shook it around to get rid of the steam obstructing his vision. The weapon had hit his lower jaw and severed a cable in which the steam generated by the mech’s core circulated. Clacking his jaws together, Halion One retorted by slamming his foot down, caving more of his foe’s armor in! His face was buried underground with a tremor and sparks flew briefly.
Thankfully, he was not damaged further – for now – as the Mehrksis titan reabsorbed the electric currents running across his foe’s body and permitted him to get back up. However, he was imprisoned once again, this time by Halion’s mole-like arms and his tongue wrapped around his throat. The Meat Grinders roared to life, having difficulty at first to pierce through the rocky plating, but soon managed to, shredding plating, circuitry and a portion of Golemech’s cannon arm.
The assault ended, but a new one was about to begin, as Halion retrieved his flaming whips and a horizontal “X” shape with them, the two whips aiming to slash Golemech’s knees...

Golemech could not counter or avoid the attack, as the burnign weapons carved smoldering Xs into his knees, causing the machine to buckle. But, Golemech was far from out of the fight, as his central insignia pulsed again. Halion one, expecting another blast of gravity waves, braced for impact. Instead, he felt himself practically floating away, as Golemech had instead used his Mass Inverter. With Halion One practically paralyzed, Golemech took the opportunity to hammer him into the ground with the gravity flail, Halion One's reduced mass making it easy for Golemech to drive his opponent into the ground, creating an efficient displacement as Halion One was flattened into the earth.
As Halion One's mass returned, Golemech took the opportunity to fuse several of the scattered fragments of his crystalline power source to the gravity flail, the glowing shards adding an extra layer of spikeynes as he slammed the weapon into Halion one's back again. This time, the explosive, high energy nature of the shards went to work, as the gravity flail literally exploded against Halion one's back, rending armor and circuitry alike and leaving a gaping wound in its wake, which Golemech promptly exploited by firing bolts of power from his shoulder crystal.
Fire and smoke poured from the Mehrksis mech's backside, as Golemech tried to stand. Only one of them could win this, and he planned to be the one, as he leveled the Gravity Cannon at Halion one's prone form and charged a blast...

A force of gravitic might washed over Halion One like a tsunami, causing more parts of the alien alloy composing his armor to crumble and roll to the ground. Some parts had caved in, and from these nasty wounds poured smoke. More smoke soon joined in and jagged lightning bolts streamed across the Mehrksis gladiator’s mechanical body. The flaming core in the middle of the blue alien's chest began to roar and blaze with more and more fury, waiting only for the right moment to unleash its power upon Golemech.
It was boiling with way more might than with regular flares the mech had done a few times over the course of this battle. Bright orange flames rose from the chest opening and licked at Halion’s face and upper body, without however harming him. Two destructive elements – roaring flames and sizzling electricity – were working together to power up the strange mech, who used the thermal energy to power up his core. Small pebbles, shards of scrap and rocks began to shake on the ground and levitate as a mechanical hum could be heard. Halion One clenched his burly hands into tight fists, arms shaking somewhat as electricity danced across them and the rest of his body, each bolt headed for his core.
Suddenly, the core began to roar louder and flashed brightly, as a sound similar to a demon inhaling could be heard. For a second, it almost seemed like time had slowed to a stop, until...
BOOOOOOOM!
The ground shook like a majestic earthquake and lifted up like a giant carpet, kicking a gigantic cloud of dust as a monstrous dome of hellish flames were expelled in all directions! A massive crater had been dug in the soil; large rocks and rocky structures were reduced to rubble or sent flying.
The Zhu-Rong Flare in all its glory!
Golemech had no time to react as the terrible wall of flames rolled right into him like a giant bowling ball, sending him flying head over heels. The flames continued their advance, dragging their golem-like prey in their hellish grasp, trapping the machine like a bug pulled into a large waterfall. Parts of his armor were melting, the mineral parts turning into slag and infiltrating the circuitry, which had begun to pop at some points. Several explosions thus rocked his body [Ohmy, I think I spotted a pun!] from seemingly all sides, until the machine crashed to the ground with a thunderous crash when the flames seemed to calm down.
The flooring cratered under his weight and blazing body, but it seemed that he was not out of the woods yet, as he was still caught within the Flare’s operating radius. The air was still hot, like the rocky machine had been thrown into a giant smelter. His armor continued to bubble and melt, bits spitting sparks.
Amidst the air rippling like the water's surface, standing perfectly immobile in the middle of the large crater, Halion One lowered his head and observed his opponent, waiting for a bit to see any movement, his tongue sticking out and looking like a blazing popsicle.
As the assault’s fury slowly appeased itself, Halion reared his head back and fell over on his back with a thud, limbs outstretched like a starfish. His tongue lolled out of his toothy jaws and electricity still crackled across his frame, while his body – especially the fiery core – was smoking like a chimney; from both vents and open wounds...

With that final attack, the voice of the UCA rang out, "THIS FIGHT IS OVER, THE WINNER IS... HALION-1! I REPEAT, THE WINNER IS HALION-1! BOTH MECHAS RETURN TO YOUR HANGERS AT ONCE!"
OOC: A nice, short fight. I wanted this to be longer, but KC was sorta runnin gout of ideas. Both combatants did quite th enumber to one another, but KC' slast attack let her jet ahead just by a hair. Overall, good match.

Halion One slowly rose to his feet after the announcement was heard. His fist clenched once more, before he suddenly threw it upwards at the level of his face in a motion known as a "fistpump". In the Mehrksis ship, Kalrus smirked and nodded in approval upon seeing his creation prevail. The wicked mechanical anteater turned around and lumbered away, before numerous lightning bolts raced across his form and engulfed his whole body, disintegrating him and leaving nothing but a few cyan sparks!
The Mehrksis gladiator reappeared in a special hangar in the gigantic Mehrksis ship, which exited the atmosphere to reach space, where he raised his arms to his side so that his body formed a T shape, to allow better access to the repair bots. As the blue mech's articulations locked in place, preventing him from moving as anchors from the walls and ceilings provided more solidification, Mehrksis repair bots went to work on the gladiator, whose sickly green eyes turned to black as the machine entered a sleep mode. In a week or two, he would look as if he never was broken in the first place, and ready for another battle...
(OOC: Forgot to say, noice match! I'm happy I'm not winning by DQ again, lol.)

As Halion One disappeared, Golemech slowly rose to a standing position. His body had been wrecked, but not beyond repair. At least much of the rocky exterior had been blown off, revealing the chassis beneath. However, when the UCA set about to repair him, they would doubtlessly restore him to the way they found him, half fossilized. Apparently, he drew a bigger crowd that way. Golemech was not angry or sad about this, nor about losing. This was only a small step towards inevitability. He would return, and be victorious.
(Great match. Made me think Golemech needs a bigger arsenal.)
