"Seal all maintainence hatches and clear the gantry! I want Gandiva ready to deploy immediately!"
The voice of Air Chief Marshal Pavak Mehra, amplified through a set of loud speakers, echoed through the massive hangar as his engineers rushed to prepare their weapon for battle. He had gotten the call not five minutes earlier, Gandiva was to take the field. It hadn't been long since they were brought to the UCA and they had yet to take part in a battle, the Marshal knew nothing of what to expect. Though he had his own personal reasons to hate everything about the UCA, he wasn't about to let Gandiva be deployed unprepared. If they had no choice but to fight, then they would give it their all.
Pavak stood before a bank of computer screens showing Gandivas status and internal processes. The startup sequence was in its final stages, its functions appearing as a feed on the central monitor.
[Prepping Engines]
Gandivas jets began to warm up.
[Testing Shredders]
The massive gattling cannons began to slowly spin.
[Launching]
Gandiva, who had been hanging within the gantry throughout the startup sequence, began to rise out of his bindings and into the air. The cybernetic golem drifted clear of the frame, ready to be tested against everything the universe had to offer.
The sun was setting over the vast and eerily silent city, only a brief flash of light disturbed its stillness. Gandiva hovered through the air, his Mask side up and ready for action. Its Shredder guns began to slowly spin, ready to fire in an instant.

From a shadow cast by one of the largest of skyscrapers in the entire empty city, a ghostly hand reached up. Clenched into a fist, the appendage stretched out into a full arm covered in ivory bone armor. The Death God emerged from the shadow, wisps of darkness surrounding him like a morning fog. Standing upright, the demon lord rolled his shoulders as he stepped around the structure to view his heroic, if not twisted looking, opponent…
A golem-mech fusion!?
“No soul to swallow…” “Nobody to join us?” “Surely it has a master.” “A pilot?” “Yes, a pilot.”
His captured souls spoke to one another from within the limitless voids of Darklore’s body.
Darklore’s right hand clenched tightly into a fist and, with a surge of purple and black lightning, his mace materialized out of thin air. Weak souls surrounded the spiked tip, surging it with unholy energy. The dark one answered his once mighty slaves as he lifted the legendary weapon. “There is no soul here to conquer. Just an unruly machine.”

(OOC: Sorry, been really busy with class projects. Barely enough time to sleep, let alone post. Fortunately, one of my bigger obligations is now out of the way)
Gandiva immediately started flying backwards down the massive city street, away from his unholy opponent. His twin shredders let loose with a hail of fire and pelted the death god with explosive bolts of burning plasma. The sound of the rapid fire cannons shattered glass and shook the world around the cyber-mech, the air before him became wavy with the heat of his projectiles, and yet Darklore withstood the fury of the attack.
The demon had crouched and raised his arms to block most of the explosives. Though the city around him was blasted to pieces by the off target shots, he held his own against the barrage. The soul eating monster dove left to the side to escape the stream of oncoming projectiles and let loose with a swing from his Chaos Mace. The horrid weapon launched a pair of shadow bolts at his autonomous foe. Thanks to the distance Gandiva had built between himself and the hellish creature he was able to dodge to the side, allowing the shadow bolts to strike a building further down the street, shattering it like glass.
His shredders grew quiet, Darklore was gone. The machines computer mind began to calculate what had happened and where his opponent was likely to be. It had little information on its target, but concluded it had continued moving to the side after firing and was currently moving down the next street on the right. The buildings in that direction were immense; if he were to take the time to fly over them he would surely lose his target. Gandiva moved to the nearest intersection and headed down the street, intent on intercepting his foe and continuing his assault.
Gandiva hadn’t accurately calculated Darklores speed, as the demon was already at the corner of the humongous block when the golem had arrived. Darklore turned the corner and brought his mace down on his opponent’s metal helm with enough force to bend it out of shape. The golem used the momentum from the attack to perform a front flip, the mace pushing down on the Mask end while the Face end swung up with an Arcane Grenade in hand. Gandivas odd body shape and strange method of movement was enough to catch the demon by surprise, it was left wide open to the attack.
The Arcane Grenade was delivered to the fiends face where it exploded in a burst of mystic energy, the red blast enveloping most of Darklores body. Gandiva backed off from the blast while charging another grenade and before the energy from the first had even dissipated, he had thrown a second. The ground crumbled and the nearby buildings shattered. Screams could be heard from within the blast zone. They were thousands or more, belonging to lesser beings.
Gandivas computers had him in an aggressive style, he wasn’t about to let up on his foe. Though the clouds of dust still hung in the air, an outline could be seen of the demon. The jewel on the golems forehead began to glow, its intensity increased as red bolts of electricity leapt about in the air around it. Gandiva let loose with a Mystic Wave.

The almighty Death God was lifted off of his heels and sent flying back, his rubbery flesh and skeletal arm fracturing from the impact of the intense, crimson beam. However, as his toes cut trenches in the extra-wide streets, something broke his flight. He was pinned between a huge building, well over 1,500 feet tall and hundreds of feet wide. Walls caved in and floors fell upon his body, but the structure withheld until the beam ceased to exist. The monolith… the two torsoed Gandiva… remained hovering like a man-made God. It remained as silent as ever, only the occasional surges of red power flickering within its gem indicating it was the one to have sent the dreaded Darklore flying back…
Darklore slid down the huge structure, landing on his feet. His arms slung down, back hunched over, and head facing down… the dark lord remained just as silent. Dozens of his enslaved souls began to speak in unison. They were frightened, trying to warn the being that had attacked their captor.
“You have woken him up.”
Darklore’s head lifted, piercing orbs of red fury dancing in the eye sockets of his mask. In just a second, Darklore lifted his Jaws of Death. The dinosaurian maw opened as wide as it could and a cannon-like shot unleashed! The ground beneath the orb cratered and walled up before the shot struck the mid-section of Gandiva! The golem was engulfed in a twisting ball of hellfire and its body pushed back, spewing sparks and holy power. Chunks of artifact and machinery raining across the battlefield…
Gandiva’s lower torso just barely touched the streets as it recoiled.
The golem looked around, but Darklore was gone. The artifact looked around, scanning for the local of his unearthly, unholy opponent…
From behind the stone idol, Darklore rose like a ghost. His body entirely hollow, the Death God lifted his colossal mace before the lower torso could react…
WHAM!
The weapon bludgeoned the back of Gandiva’s head! The guardian hovered forward before slumping into the side of a structure. The building caved in and the back of the stone skull cratered, gem and eyes showering sparks. Before the machine could recover, the Jaws of Death shot around the right, upper arm. The teeth grinded against stone and steel, fracturing it while yanking the golem up. Darklore spun, releasing his hold and sending the protector of humanity into the opposite side of the enlarged streets!

The guardian of India spun about in the air, desperately trying to right himself with bursts from his powerful jets. The golems attempts may have given him some stability but they did little to slow his flight, he crashed into the towering structure with enough force to make the building sag forward. Steel twisted under his weight, glass shattered under his force, the Face side had been inverted during the spin and was partly embedded in the uninhabited structure. Darklore rushed forward, faster than one would think possible for a being of such immense size, with the intent of finishing the jury-rigged artifact.
The Mask, now right side up and facing its foe, lowered one of its colossal arms and fired a short burst into the charging demon. There was little time for the target to react, nearly a dozen of the shredders bolts tore into his chest. The effect on the dark gods strange flesh was difficult to make out, but his bone exterior cracked and snapped under the force of the blast. Chucks of bone, great in size to most mortals though fairly small to the giants, fell to the ground.
The monster reeled back from the unexpected attack as Gandiva pulled himself from the looming structure. Darklore, not one to give up so easily, again charged his enemy. He was slower, more cautious, observing his foe as he closed the short distance between them. Strangely, the golem did not retreat. It responded with its own charge, shredder cannons raised to combat the monsters mace and jaw.
At the last moment, as the two titans were pitched to clash in what would have been a brutal melee, Gandiva leaned back and dropped several meters in altitude. Had Darklore fought a being with such a unique body before, he may have understood the threat it posed at lower levels.
Gandivas Face side reached back, behind its head, and dug its claws into Darklores ankles. With an explosive burst of power the golem pulled up and away from its foe, pulling the dark gods feet from beneath him and bringing him crashing to the ground. The cyber-golem dragged the demon for but a moment before rising higher into the air. Once clear of the ground, both of Gandivas engines pushed to their maximum output.
Many who witnessed the event would go on to describe it as an absurd sight. The golem flipped at faster and faster speeds, all the while rising higher into the air and swinging a god of darkness by its feet. The centrifugal force of the spin kept Darklores weighty Jaw from being aimed at his attacker and the shadow bolts from his bone made mace went wide of their spinning target. The anger boiling inside of the soul eating monstrosity was immeasurable. To be spun about by a foe, any foe, was an infuriating notion.
This embarrassment was brought to an end when Gandiva simply let go of the god, a perfectly timed release to send it shooting like a bullet, back first, into the streets five hundred meters below. Seventy seven thousand tons of demon hit the ground with enough power to quake the mega city in its entirety. The force of the impact was so incredible, the only weapons the humans of Earth could have used to surpass it were of the nuclear variety.
Gandiva, still slowing himself down from the immense rotational force of his jet powered backflip (how many flips he performed would require close video analysis to discover), found the time to calculate a follow up attack. An Arcane Grenade released at the right point of a flip turned into a speeding bullet of mystic energy flying straight at a prone and battered target below.

Like an opening umbrella, a fireball filled the city streets. The grenade detonated, causing the windows to blow out all across the battlefield. Nearby buildings collapsed like houses made of cards, sending wave after wave of dust and debris. The carnage mixed with the sea of fire, but as Gandiva hovered, a dark figure emerged from the abyss of hell. His rubbery hide dented inward and parts of his armor chipped and shattered completely… Darklore survived! He was damaged, but he survived!
The demon looked up, eye sockets flashing with crimson hate…
A banshee-like scream caught Gandiva off guard. It had been so focused on its assault that it missed a soul being released from Darklore! The cast off was a winged, skeletal fiend. Horned head and bat-like wings, it crashed into the back of the two-torsoed weapon. Razor-sharp teeth scrapped against stone and metal. Lengthy arms hugged its body, carrying it down. The bat-like banshee screamed in hellish sounds as it pulled away, taking with it boulders of Gandiva’s stone build. The weapon immediately fired in response, obliterating the cast off with a single shredder round to the face! The minion instantly turned to ash, flowing away within the bellowing clouds of black smoke.
However, its sacrifice was a necessity.
Limbs and clawed tentacles stretched up to the size of skyscrapers. A field of souls! Gandiva’s lower torso was quickly ensnared, its body raged by demonic entities. Sparks and mechanical workings began to fall from its body as scythe-like claws and hooks from a tentacled hand ripped into its rib cage. The weapon began to fire wildly, shredding through the field like a weed whacker. But for every appendage obliterated, dozens more replaced it. A pyramid of limbs was swallowing up the ancient defender!
As bits and pieces continued to rain from the struggling golem, its entire front side was covered in a colossal explosion! It flew back, tearing through the vertical field of souls from the impact of the darkness orb! Gandiva flipped over several times in the air before cutting through the mid-section of a skyscraper. The structure split like a cookie, sending one half onto the darkness field and crushing it under countless tons of rubble. Gandiva, however, fared no better. It landed in a sparking, crushed up mess. Body dented and smoking, the weapon twitched.
Going hollow, Darklore walked through buildings by the many. He cut through the streets, Jaws of Death wide and ready to fire again…
