Using his tail to maneuver himself into a better position, Ketos unleashed a blast of boiling water. The steaming geyser slammed into the ice wall, slowly melting it. The great force of the powerful stream also pushed him backwards, slowing him. By the time the sea dragon actually struck the wall, it was half gone and he was moving sluggishly enough to avoid any major damage. He hit the weakened wall of ice with a grunt and wet spatter, water and slush sloshing out. As he slid down into the ocean, the wall collapsed. It's hadn't really hurt. It was like tripping or accidentally running into something.
That still didn't keep Ketos from throwing a fit.
"STOP WITH THESE STUPID LITTLE TRICKS, SHE-WITCH!"
Cerulean's answer was a downpour of icicles. The frozen weapons zipped down at Ketos, pelting him with sharp blades of ice. Bringing his arms over with head, the aquatic giant tried to protect himself. The icicles rained down on him, open long gashes and stabbing into his shark-like hide, adding to the lacerations left by the early bombardment of ice crystals. When the barrage was complete, the water around Ketos was a deep shade of red. Snarling and roaring, the Demon of the Deep loosed another pressurized jet of water. The forceful blast stuck one of Cerulean wings as she soared overhead, jerking it up violently. The hydrokinetic screamed in agony as her wing was almost torn out of socket. Plummeting, the dragoness struggled to regain control. Seeing that she would soon right herself and break her fall, Ketos made his move. Muscular tail pumping back and forth, the ancient beast began gaining steam, the sea foaming in his wake. Soon, he had reached an incredible speed and his wake had become a mighty wave, towering over all its surroundings. As Ketos passed under Cerulean, the great tidal wave slammed into her with a crash. The wave merged back with the sea and Cerulean fell, the heavy blow knocking her unconscious for a moment. When she opened her eyes, she was plunging into the ocean bellow.
And Ketos was waiting for her.
Rearing from the water, the Tyrant of the Sea jumped high into the air, like an enormous crocodile leaping for prey. Reaching up, he managed to catch one of her legs in his talons. The marine monster heaved her downward, throwing her against the water with a sharp slap! Her weight and the speed of descent made the impact like that of hitting solid concrete. Ketos snorted in a quick laugh. Water tension was a bitch sometimes.
Angling himself into position for a full-body tackle, Ketos dropped down after Cerulean, mouth pulled into a gleeful grin...

Cerulean grimaced as Ketos slammed into her, but did not give him the satisfaction of screeching. Instead, she used their promixity to dig her talons into his flesh as she focused her hydrokinesis on his blood once more, boiling it in his very veins. Ketos screamed in agony as he withdrew, trying to put some distance between the two of them, all the while screeching vile oaths and epithets.
Cerulean paid him no heed though, as she fired off another freezer beam, striking Ketos in the chest and giving her some new ice crystals to work with. Rather than take the time to make more, she used these newly formed ones on Ketos's chest and began to burrow them through his flesh with her mind. Ketos continued bellowing as the crystals expanded and bit deeper into flesh, but was suddenly silenced as a large, blunt chunk of ice rose up out of the water and smashed him upside the head.
With Ketos momentarily decommissioned, Cerulean generated another storm of monomolecular ice blades and sent them swarming towards Ketos...

Eyes flashing, Ketos used his tail to kick up a wall of water. The barrage of ice crystals struck the water, meltimg almost instantly. Cerulean barred her conical teeth in frustration. When the water returned to sea level, the bio-weapon was shocked to see that Ketos was...
... gone.
Cerulean looked around in alarm. She scanned her suroundings, checking arir, land, and sea for her foe. But she just couldn't find him! Far below her, on the ocean floor, Ketos was gathering his strength. Eyes glowing in the eerie dark of the deep, the sea dragon summoned a mighty, spiraling column of seawater. The great whirlpool rose around him and began to compress, spinning closer and closer to Ketos. Soon the tower of water was woven tightly around the Tyrant of the Seas and moving at an unbelievable speed. Pushing off the seabed, Ketos shot upwards, the whirlpool powering his rapid ascent. Cerulean sensed the motion below her and took fligt, bursting from the surface of the ocean.
Ketos immediately followed her.
Exploding from the ocean, the whirlpool became a waterspout. The brutal vortex engulfed Cerulean. The she-dragon tried to escape, charging at the wall of water and sharpening her hydrokinesis into a parting point. But the violent flow beat her back, bruising and splitting her hide. Flying lop-sidedly in pain, Cerulean tried to flee upwards, eyes wide and frantic. Ketos was suddenbly looming in front of her, blocking her way out. Clinging to the inside of the vortex with his talons, the Demon of the Deep unleashed a pressurized blast of water, throwing Cerulean down. The drgoness countered by firing her freezer ray. The sub-zero beam struck Ketos, freezing over his chest. Wincing as the biting cold seeped into his body, Ketos roared in anger. But he didn't attack as Cerulean expected him to. Instead, he pulled hinself into the wall of the waterspout, disappearing. Cerulean narrowed her eyes in suspicion. Ketos was up to something.
The clever alien creature was proven right when the waterspout collapsed.
It retractyed really, pulled down faster than gravity alone could accomplish. Cerulean yelpe in panic as the vortex closed in around her, desperately looking for a way out. But there was no escape. The spiraling column of water crashed into her, its immense power and weight pummeling the she-dragon. A distinctive red tint was adopted by the vortex in its final moments.
Ketos surfaced, eyes searching for Cerulean. There. The war veteran was struggling to stay afloat, her body battered and bloody. Diving, Ketos swam beneath her. Rushing up with a sweep of his tail, the ancient leviathan rose one clawed hand, hoping to skewer his foe on his talons...

Cerulean grimaced again as Ketos' talons found their mark, leving bloody trails in her hide. Clearly, her foe could take a beating better than she could. But he could in way match her psionic talents. As Ketos reared back to strike once more, Ceruelan focused on the sheer amount of moisture coating Ketos. The sea tyrant laughed as his fist was about to cave her face in, as he completely ignored the chill in the air around him. But, much to his horror, his fist stopped mere inches away from Cerulean's face, a sheet of ice covering it.
Cerulean's face was clenched in concentration as she used the water covering Ketos to manipulate his body, throwing him back onto hard ground and pinning him down like a butterfly on a display mat. Ketos struggled as Cerulean loomed overhead, a sinister gleam in her blue eyes as she raised a massive icicle overhead and thrust the point into Ketos' gut. Blood sprayed everywhere as the sea tyrant struggled to free himself, but to no avail.
Cerulean raised up several more spikes of ice and began to drive them into Ketos' hands and feet, effectively crucifying him to the beach, as she generated more and more spikes, driving them into his pinned form. The beach was stained crimson as she snarled in fury, the fight finally starting to take its toll on her, both physically and mentally. She remembered all those monsters she had killed so many thousands of years ago, of the worlds they had devastated. If left unchecked, Ketos might become one of them. And there was only one way to deal with such things.
She focused her powers once more and created a veritable glacier over his head and released it, hoping ot let gravity and the weight of the ice end her troubles...

As the glacier loomed over him, Ketos eyes widened into perfect circles, full of fear. The eyes of a child. Then, the vast collection of ice fell, threatening to crush the sea monster's head like a grape.
"No... no, no, no! NO, NOO! NOOO! NOOOO-!"
The glacier landed squarely on Ketos's skull with a loud, wet crack! The Demon of the Deep went limp, head lolling to the side. The glacier rolled to the side as well, stained red. More blood soaked into the beach. Cerulean let herself relax. There was no more need to fight.
It was over.
The dragoness turned and trotted away, head hung in exhaustion. A tiny, weak sound made her pause. As she recognized the deep voice, a jolt of shock and terror (Tee-he... Birdemic) shot through her weary body. Her slender jaws fell open and her limbs froze. It couldn't possible be... could it?
"... you bitch." (No offense.)
Slowly pulling himself to a kneel, Ketos growled savagely at Cerulean. A broad flow of blood covered his face, making the furious look on it even more horrifying. Staggering to his feet, the ancient beast yanked one of the icicle from his hand with a spurt of blood, ignoring the pain. Clutching it with a crushing grip, Ketos steadied himself. A single swing of his fists shattered the glacier that had almost killed him, shards of ice pelting the beach. Eyes hard and fangs barred, he charged, roaring at the top of his lungs.
"YOU LITTLE WRETCH! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT. YOU'LL DIE FOR THAT! NO ONE WILL EVER GET AWAY WITH SOMETHING LIKE THAT AS LONG AS I STILL MOVE AND BREATHE!"
Barging into Cerulean before she could even react, Ketos clobbered her over the head with the icicle. The bio-weapon's head snapped to the side at a sharp angle, blood spewing from her scalp. Splintering the icicle with a squeeze of his claws, Ketos raised one foot high into the air. Lining up his webbed foot with Cerulean's skull, he slammed down, smashing the she-dragon's head into the sand. A warm wetness spread across his sole. Smiling in sinister delight, the Tyrant of the Seas dug his claws into Cerulean's hide. Heaving up with all his might, the berserk leviathan hurled the bloody mess of a creature over his head. The alien landed in a heap, flesh tearing and bones jarring. He began to chase after her again, but slowed. Ketos breathed heavily, each chestful of air taking a considerable amount of labor. His fury was fading, fatigue becoming stronger. Eyes dropping slightly, the sea dragon lumbered over to Cerulean. Sick of fighting, he placed a heavy foot on her neck, pinning her down. Shoulders flexing, he clasped his claws together high over his head and prepared to bring them down.
It was time to end this...

Cerulean jerked her head to the side at the last moment, causing Ketos' fists to slam into the ground beside her, throwing up a veil of sand. She snarled and retaliated by launching her freezer beam straight at Ketos' face, ice crystals forming over his maw and eyes. She kept the pressure on, as more and more ice formed over his head, blinding him, deafening him, choking him.
Ketos staggered back, removing the pressure off he rown body, tearing desperately at the ice covering his face, when suddenly he began to convulse. The reasons weren't immediately apparent, but when blood started mingling with the ice, it became all too clear. Cerulean was crushing his skull in an icy embrace, hoping to squeeze the life out of him, one breath at a time. But even as she focused on expanding the ice and crushing him, she could see it melting, despite her efforts to the contrary. Ketos was boiling it down from the other side faster than she could keep it frozen.
Rather than let him regain the upper hand, Cerulean relinquished control once more and generated another ice spear, skewering Ketos' shoulders, first the left and then the right. His powerful tail thrashed as he stomped across the beach, his icy muzzle almost removed, when Cerulean prepared to perforate him with more ice spears. Unfortunately, her timing was a little off, as Ketos shattered the muzzle with a mighty show of strength before launching a geyser of superheated water straight at her, melting her makeshift weapons and searing her flesh.
But Cerulean was undaunted, and instead fired her freezer beam once more...

Ketos made to avoid the subzero beam, but something stopped him. His foe had shown brilliant tactic throughout the fight, making a total fool of him many times. Even if he preferred to use brute force, he simply didn't like to be shown up. Maybe it was time to show a little tactic of his own...
Instead of dodging the freezer beam, Ketos thrust his arm forward and let it strike his clenched hand, covering it in ice. The cold bit into his flesh, numbing it and making him grimace in pain. It would all be paid back in due time. The ice spread and thickened, encasing his whole hand. When Cerulean finally let the freezer beam fade, Ketos's hand was completely hidden in a heavy lump of ice. Confidence flared in Cerulean's eyes. She had successfully made one of Ketos's limbs useless.
How wrong she was.
Ketos rushed the alien bio-weapon, bellowing a war cry. Balancing himself with his tail, the ancient leviathan delivered a good kick to Cerulean's gut. The she-dragon was thrown back by the powerful blow, coughing up blood. She landed rather ungratefully and quickly rose to her feet, readying herself to counter an attack from Ketos's free hand. But the strike came from the opposite side. Roaring, Ketos smashed Cerulean across the face with his ice-covered fist, the frosty casing acting like a super-sized pair of brass knuckles. The hydrokinetic's head whipped to the side violently. But Ketos wasn't done yet. He swiftly followed up with a swipe from his free claws, raking them up Cerulean's neck. Then, he slammed his icy fist down into the top of her skull with a sharp crack! Cerulean crumppled to the ground with a pained wheeze, blood covering her face. The beach at her feet was wet and stained black.
Ketos found it delicious.
The ice over his fist was crushed and cracked, so he simply brushed it away. Leaning down with a throaty purr, the Tyrant of the Seas grabbed Cerulean by the nape of her neck. Hauling her up roughly, the sea dragon placed one of her elbows against the war veteran's cheeks. A savage grin split Ketos's face. With one fluid motion, the cruel beast dragged the side of his arm across Cerulean's face. His skin was like that of a shark, made up of millions of backward-pointed, blade-like 'teeth'. Thusly, having such skin ripped across your skin was total agony, shredded skin and spilling blood. Cerulean went into spasms, her body writhing in pain. A horse screech escaped her slender jaws, music to Ketos's ears. Satisfied, the Demon of the Deep threw Cerulean back to the ground.
Marching towards the surf, Ketos turned to face Cerulean's limp form. Summoning all his remaining power, the sea monster roared in effort and his eyes glowed, two evil spotlights. The sea behind him exploded. A huge geyser of water, powerful enough to shatter rock and level landscapes, arched from the ocean, its crushing weight aimed squarely at Cerulean...

Cerulean had little choice. She had no room to move, no way to counter. She simply had to endure. She summoned most of her remaining strength and focused on the guyser, seeking merely to divert it's flow, rather than redirect it to Ketos. Like Moses, she parted the waters around her, all the while waiting for the moment to counter. When the flow finally ceased, she was still standing, breathing heavily, a trickle of blood flowing from her nostrils from the mental strain.
Ketos was dumbstruck. There was no way she should have been able to survive that. Of course, Cerulean was about to one up him by attacking as well. A frozen beam arced from her mouth and struck Ketos in the chest before traveling up the the side of his face, leaving a wake of ice in it's path. Ketos roared as he tried to summon another blast of water, but a second frost beam silenced him, giving Cerulean time for her grand finale.
A waterspout erupted behind Ketos and quickly swirled towards him, enveloping him in it's crushing embrace as thousands of tiny ice shards ripped at his flesh. With a mental flick, Cerulean then froze the whole thing solid, entombing Ketos in the ice. The seconds ticked past as she waited. If this was the end, then this was the end. If not, then she would fight on. She would endure, as she always had...

Awesome match. Both fighters utilized excellent tactics to try to overcome their respective opponent. Ketos brought the brute force, but Cerulean's finesse with her greater hydrokinesis overcame her comparative physical disadvantage. That monomolecular ice blade barrage in particular was extremely impressive. Had it not been for Cerulean's lesser durability, she probably would have pulled off the win here. However, as it is, this is a draw.
----------
As Cerulean struggles to her feet and Ketos struggles to free himself from the ice, a voice booms across the battlefield.
"ATTENTION! Cease combat at once! This match has been declared a draw! Congratulations to both combatants! Now report back to your quarters immediately!"

As twin shafts of light entered the battlefield, designating the loactions of the telepads, Cerulean took one last look at Ketos. A savage beast, with a temper and propensity for dialouge to match. Under ordinary circumstances she would have taken him down here and now. But as it was...
She turned and limped into the telepad and disappeared from sight, leaving Ketos to remove the icy tomb himself...
----
Back in her quarters, Cerulean climbed into the regeneration tank and slumped against the wall as the doors cloased and green liquid began to fill the structure. Her wounds would heal in time. And then she would be sent out to fight once more. At least this time she got to start one on her own terms.
((OOC: Great fight Hayes. You really had me on the ropes there. Here's hoping we get to do this again some time.))

Breaking free from his frozen prison with a flex of his muscular body, Ketos dropped to his knees. Eyes burning with absolute hatred, the boisterous beast roared with rage.
"HOW DARE YOU DO THAT! YOU'LL DIE FOR THAT, SHE-WITCH! WITH ALL THE FURY OF THE OCEAN BEHIND ME, I SHALL-"
Ketos stopped when he realized his foe wasn't even present.
"Huh? Where did that wretch go?" The sea dragon looked about in confusion, rising to his feet. "Did I... did I win?"
There was no answer. Bloody, battered, bruised, and completely puzzled, Ketos slowly stomped towards the tele-whatever pad, grumbling to both himself and the absent Cerulean the whole way.
"Abandon a fight will you? Hmph.... I'll get you next time... there will be no escape!"
With a bright flash, the tele-whatever pad activated. One last thought that occurred to Ketos before he disappeared, destined for his regeneration tank.
He forgot to close his eyes.
"GAH!"
(Likewise. That was great fun. You had some brilliant tactics. I'm surprised you didn't win.)
