OOC: Closed thread between myself, akantor, and MM.---------- A week after his grueling battle against Drakia, Suchodon is fully recovered. As a reward for the astounding fight, he’s been given a “vacation” in the Natural Zone. Within a few hours of being teleported in, his forked tongue has lead him to a large watering hole in the savannah. He leans down, flicking his long tongue at the water, the forked tips just barely touching its surface before pulling back into his mouth. It’s clean. He then drops to all fours and scoops up a few mouthfuls of water. Standing back up, he wades out into the lake, finding that it gets deep rather quickly. A mere 300 or so meters from the shore, the water is already past his chest. He lets himself fall forward, bringing his arms and legs back as he switches to using his powerful tail to propel him forward. Upon reaching the approximate center of the lake, he does a lazy circle before letting himself drift to a stop. He lifts his head up and partially raises his tail out of the water, inhaling a great deal of air. The increased buoyancy makes him float higher in the water, exposing much of his back. He then exhales, his throat visibly inflating somewhat. The water around his back begins to dance as the vibrations from the infrasound agitates it, sending spray flying into the air. A deep, rumbling bellow fills the air a few moments later as Suchodon starts to sink, his buoyancy reduced again as his lungs are emptied. Once empty, he immediately inhales again and repeats the process. He does this several more times, signaling to every living creature for miles around that he’s claimed this lake as his territory. But unbeknownst to Suchodon, there’s a monster in the area that will be drawn in by the bellows...

(just to note that after this reply I made here.. I will not be back till late Friday to continue off. apologies for my absence and what not, but giving yall a heads up)
Grrgrggrgrgrgrrgrgrgrgr...grgrrgrgrgrgrgrgr...
The noise was plenty loud and clear, if not too clear. It probably sent every hint of prey down a hole or at least put it on edge. But then came a reply: a rumbling roar from the throat of another reptile that came from the horizon.
Vastrato was on the hunt. She was often found on the Natural Zone and kept a low profile to the point she was virtually none existent. Prey often had no idea what hit it. But the loud and clear sound brought her out of the dusty pile of dirt she buried herself under and heading toward the lake.
Again the female crocodile roared out as she galloped toward the water in reply.

Hearing the reply, Suchodon bellows again. A few seconds later, there’s another reply, which he again responds to. The back-and-forth repeats a couple more times before he finally sees the source a few miles away and approaching quickly. He tenses up for a moment, thinking it’s another monster coming to challenge him. But then when the figure gets a bit closer and he can make out the details, he realizes it’s Vastrato. Relaxing again, he swims toward the shore and climbs out of the water to meet her.

ooc: Bitches, I AM BACK! Let us continue!
In the distance she saw the other crocodilian and picked up speed, her gait spreading out and giving her the equivalent of a kaiju sized horse racing at high speed. She covered the miles rather quickly and skidded to a stop across the dusty ground of the Savannah.
Only a few body lengths away, Vastrato rumbled in her throat. It was almost like a purr, but it was clearly some sort of benevolent growl as opposed to anything aggressive. She was happy to see him.
---------
From the inner hub, Marian sat back in a chair, watching the screen. She was almost always watching one of the monsters from her world. Preferably Vastrato. She enjoyed studying and watching her. But this new fellow Suchodon made Vastrato act in unrecorded ways. She wanted to see what would happen.

Suchodon answers with his own rumbling growl and walks up to Vastrato. The two monsters circle each other, tasting and sniffing the air, respectively. When they’ve sufficiently greeted each other, Suchodon heads back into the water. Vastrato follows shortly after.
The crocosaurs spend the rest of the day alternately lounging in the water and basking on the shore.
-The next day-
Suchodon and Vastrato are laying next to each other on the shore, basking in the noontime sun. Vastrato is asleep, but Suchodon has been awakened by a Gnattra buzzing around his head. He growls in annoyance and snaps at it, but the small insect dodges and continues to buzz around him. He snaps his jaws again, but again narrowly misses. The Gnattra seems to get the massage though and leaves. With a snort, Suchodon lays his head down to go back to sleep...
...Only to have the Gnattra land on his snout a few seconds later. He quickly shakes it off then holds his head motionless, carefully watching the bug’s movements. Then, as it approaches again, he reacts. This time, he’s rewarded with a satisfying crunch as the Gnattra is crushed in his jaws. As he throws his head back and swallows the deliciously spicy morsel, he notices a cloud of dust rising from the savanna off in the distance. Standing up to get a better look, he can tell it’s a group of creatures, though they’re too far away to tell what they are. He lets out a low growl, then barks at Vastrato to wake her up. She does, and he motions toward the dust cloud with a snort. Seeing it, she stands up as well.
Both monsters stare at the approaching herd, the same thoughts crossing their minds. Almost as one, they turn around and slink into the water, disappearing beneath the surface save for the tops of their heads.
They lie in wait for the next hour, watching as the herd of Gigabeest slowly wanders closer. Upon reaching the shore, the herbivores line up almost shoulder-to-shoulder and begin to drink. One subadult male takes a couple steps further out into the water than the rest.
A deadly mistake.
The water in front of the subadult explodes as Suchodon strikes, grabbing it by the head before pulling back. At the same time, the rest of the herd erupts into panic and bolts. Suchodon drags the thrashing Gigabeest into slightly deeper water before performing a Death Roll, instantly snapping the creature’s neck and killing it. Standing up, he pulls the limp body ashore, Vastrato following behind him.
The two crocodilian monsters quickly being tearing into the carcass, but the scent of the fresh kill will soon attract the attention of another apex predator.

He had been trekking through the dry grassland for about two days now. The chaos elsewhere in the UCA was allowing the predator a much longer stay in the Natural Zone than normal. But now he was hungry. It had been over a day since he fed. A rumbling in his stomach made the behemoth groan. However, he could find no easy prey here. And he wasn’t at the desperation point to start digging for Big Fatters and Gnattra nests. The dinosaur continued to walk aimlessly for hours, body swaying and eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of life…
But it wasn’t his eyesight that caught the sign, but his nostrils.
It was a long way away, but he could smell it and it made his large jaws salivate. Gorgs licked his lips as he tasted the blood in the air. He began to walk forward at a much faster pace, keeping his body aligned with the ground. It took him about a half hour to reach eyesight of the source of the tantalizing smell of food. And when he found it, he also found them…
Suchodon and Vastrato were devouring the Gigabeest like there was no tomorrow. Guts were spilled onto the muddy shore as the two reptiles burrowed into its body like demonic chainsaws. The crocodiles were too busy feeding to notice Gorgs standing a few hundred meters away, drool falling from his boxy jaws in thick sheets…
Vastrato ripped her head back and something snapped within the carcass. Her body fell back into the crimson water, guts smeared across her face as she chewed on intestines. But her eyes caught Gorgs’ watching them. Her mouth slowly opened, a mass of half-chewed entrails unraveling and falling onto Suchodon’s tail. Taken by surprise, the crocodile lifted his gory face away and looked back at his friend. He saw the look on her as she eyed something. Following her gaze, Suchodon turned his head and stood up, peering over the hollowed out body of the Gigabeest.
The man-made saurians instantly recognized one another. Gorgs, having flashbacks of his victory over the crocodile, tilted his head. Suchodon’s blood-smeared jaws hissed as Gorgs stomped his clawed feet and slammed his tail down like a bat…

Gorgs, being the dominate predator he normally was, glared at the two carnivores. Far as he was concerned, they were messily walls that stood in the way of a fresh kill. He sat upright, lips parting first before the entire jaw in a massive, intimidating roar.
Suchodon hissed, but it was Vastrato he got extremely defensive. She lunged over the kill, landing on all fours before rearing on her hind legs. She sucked in air, inflating her gut slightly to seem a lot larger than she appeared to be. Splaying her claws out, she roared out in defense at the dinosaur.
Taking two steps back, Gorgs was taken by surprise. That fear quickly vanished thought has he came forward again, roaring back. He was hungry and no one was going to stop him from eating.
From behind Vastrato, Suchodon was ready to back up the other crocodile at a moments notice. She seemed to be oddly aggressive, however. It was very alien for Vastrato to act in such a way. Perhaps the presence of another Crocodile of sorts was doing something to her. The air in her gut erupted out of Vastrato, the large breath becoming a long, loud and threatening blast of noise that roughly translated as a "GET THE FUCK OUT" to the intruder. This was THEIR territory, and he was going to abide to that.
The Rex just curled his lips and charged head first, lowered, successfully ramming his heavy skull right into Vastrato's gut. Suchodon had to move fast or get crushed by the two other monsters. Vastrato had pretty good arms compared to Gorgs and managed to wrap one of he claws around the beasts neck, turning over, pulling him with her. The saurian got a nice mouthful of dirt from that, but he pushed up. This beast of muscle and might reared back, throwing the crocodile off.
Vastrato simply backed off and reared on her hind legs once more, opening her jaws as wide as they will go at a wicked and uncanny 190-Degrees in intimation; much like how a cottonmouth would open its mouth to intimidate.

As soon as the reptillian jaws opened wide, they were slammed shut by a bat-like blow from Gorgs’ thick, muscular tail. The bipedal crocodile rolled to the side, body flailing in the shallow water. The man-made dinosaur stomped his feet and roared, thick strands of saliva unraveling from his boxy jaws. The beast of beasts charged, biting down on Vastrato’s leg!
She hissed in fury, kicking with her other leg before he could do serious damage. He backed away, shaking his skull from side to side…

Pulling herself back, it seemed Vastrato was about to retreat... then she lunged, charging head first at the dinosaur with her head low. Gorgs lowered his own head and both of their skulls collided with a sharp crack! Gorgs was good at using that thick head of his as a weapon. Now the two were in a pushing match with Gorgs using his tail as a third leg to anchor himself. He won this match; haven thrown Vastrato back with a hard shove.
Not that Vastrato gave up. She came back again swinging her head and broadsiding her hard skull into his, making Gorgs stumble back a bit as he worked his jaw. A tooth came loose and fell to the ground. His own blood filled his jaws, some dripping out over his lip.
Vastrato was good on her feet. She pulled herself around, bringing her entire hindquarters to face the dinosaur with the tail stretching out, extending, becoming a hard, thick, extended whip to deck the beast right across the face.

As Vastrato swings, Gorgs ducks under the tail. He then charges forward, slamming his bulk into the female crocodilian. The two monsters grapple and shove each other, struggling for dominance, with neither able to succeed.
Suchodon, meanwhile, moves around the fighting duo in an attempt to attack Gorgs from behind. Just as he’s about to pounce, Gorgs and Vastrato vanish in a flash of light. He cocks his head and looks around, confused, but soon realizes that they must have been taken by the UCA. With a snort, he walks over and lays down on the shore next to what’s left of the Gigabeest carcass.
