So by now everyone has seen the UCA announcements in some matches that read as follows:
ATTENTION! __________ DETECTED BY COMBATANT: _____!
-insert description of arena weapons attacking aforementioned monster-
-insert reasoning for attack-
Well, here's a list of the various fouls, including what specific types of infractions they cover and what the penalties for each are.
Excessive Brutality: This is the most generalized, and thus probably the most common, foul call. Having too many attacks in a post, overusing limited attacks, and inflicting excessively gory or crippling attacks (impaling, breaking bones, spraining joints, severing muscles/tendons, etc.) fall under this. Standard penalty is an attack by the arena weapons. Limb removal and killing the opponent fall under this as well, but the penalty is instant disqualification.
Unfair Combat Behavior: Another fairly general foul. Not allowing your opponent to land a hit in your post and spamming “cheap” attacks (paralyzing/stunning, blinding, etc.) fall under this. Overusing limited attacks can fall under this as well, depending on the specific attack. Standard penalty is an attack by the arena weapons.
Match Interference: When a monster other than the designated combatants enters and interferes with a fight. Penalty is both an attack upon the interfering monster by the arena weapons and disqualification of the monster that they didn’t attack.
Unauthorized Transformation: When a monster undergoes a transformation that involves significantly changing their body. Penalty is initially an attack by the arena weapons. If the monster refuses to revert back to their previous state after being attacked by the arena weapons, they will be disqualified. If this foul is called, the player that received the warning must post again immediately afterward with their monster’s decision to revert back or stay transformed.
For Excessive Brutality and Unfair Combat Behavior fouls, players will be allowed a total of two per match. On the third infraction, they are disqualified. An Unauthorized Transformation foul effectively counts as two fouls, assuming the monster reverts back to their previous state after the initial warning and thus doesn’t get disqualified on the spot. If they already have an infraction, an Unauthorized Transformation will result in immediate disqualification. Likewise, if they’ve already received a UT foul, they will be disqualified if they receive any other foul.
Questions/comments? Also, Yaburu gets credit for the idea for this, since prior to his post I wasn't sure how exactly I should standardize the way refs deal with rule breaking and punishment.
