Zizvs Ceruleanvs VolucrisRef: The Hayes, the A, the JONES! At the edge of the main city area, was a section near the archipelago section. here, there was a large harbor around 200 meters deep. And it was here, that a light came down, and revealed the largest arachnid this world had ever seen. Volucris clicked her mandibles together as she surveyed the area she was now in. A large city... just what she liked. It had beena long time since she had seen a human settlement like this... but alas, it was abandoned. What a shame... no food for her here... But she could sense it, arrivals incoming. As she prepared a makeshift web between two buildings, she readied herself mentally... she wouldn't be able to kill these two... but she would feast on their blood.

(OCC: Was just getting to that, actually. Had to post in the Goralzen vs Crydmarr fight first.)
Ziz emerged from a brilliant flash of a second teleportation ray. She flexed her wing as she did so. It seemed to be healed, though it was still a bit stiff. Of course, it was certainly better than having no wing at all.
The bird noticed the demonic spider within moments, and the corners of her beak twisted into a frown as she noticed the hunger in the arachnid's eyes. This opponent didn't seem like the type that would play nice. Ziz would have to prepare for a hard fight. And if rumours were true, there was still one being left to make itself known...

(Just a heads up, I will be out of town from the 29th through the 1st or 2nd for Dragoncon. So I will be unable to reply during that time frame.)
Cerulean had been called forth to do battle once more, this time in a coastal city. It was similar to the areas she had battled in beforehand. This time, however, she faced two foes at once. This would be a true test of her skills. One she would not back down from.

No sooner had the words been announced, had Volucris launched her attack plan into operation. A strand of webbing flew from her mouth and latched onto Ziz, taking the bird off guard. The guardian flew upward, trying to free herself, but the webbing was strong, stronger than she had realized, and all it took was a single tug from the arachnid to bring the massive bird crashing down to the street floor, the resulting boom sending up a cloud of concrete and debris. The arachnid chuckled as she cut the line, but her eyes took note of movement behind her. She leapt to the side...
But that wasn't enough to escape the Diamond Storm that rained down from above. Volucris gritted her mandibles as her hide was sliced into by the ice crystals , and several had even lodged themselves into her abdomen! The nerve of it all! he dragon would pay for that. Grabbing the webbing, Volucris whirled around, and then let go as Ziz, still recovering from the slam down, was sent flying into the surprised form of Cerulean, both of them sent tumbling down into the harbor. The giant spider leapt onto the nearest building to the body of water and peered into the depths. From what she could see, the two down there seemed to be struggling with each other, though it was obvious the bird was out of her element. "Well, if those two can have fun in the surf, why not I?" Volucris purred to herself, before leaping off and into the harbor itself, her razor-sharp legs ready to slice into one of the two fighters if she landed on them...

Blood was spilt from Ziz’s side as one of Volucris’s sharp legs pierced her skin. A massive blast of electricity arced from her wings in retaliation. Both the spider and the dragon were thrown into spasms as the high voltage assaulted their bodies, sending white-hot pain crackling through their limbs and body, searing their carapace and scales with its power. Strong winds tore into the harbor’s surface as though recreating the story of Moses, scooping up the massive bird and propelling her from the sea with their unbelievable force. Her wings extended like fans the size of skyscrapers to catch the supernatural updraft, carrying her high into the air. Her many tails twitched to the left and the wind changed course instantly, and with a single flap of her wings, Ziz spun at a perfect 180 degree angle. Hovering silently without a single wing beat, her keen eyes watched her enemies struggling beneath the waves far below.
It seemed Volucris had made a mistake jumping into the harbor. The underworlder’s huge weight was dragging her down to the bottom, and Cerulean’s hydrokinesis gave her a huge home-field advantage. Having recovered from Ziz’s lightning, the dragon had begun to increase the temperature of the water, trying to boil Volucris alive. The goddess began to prepare an attack of her own as huge, dark clouds rolled over the skies from seemingly out of nowhere. The sky was soon blanketed in darkness, a swirling structure that stretched for miles upon miles like the worlds largest ceiling, easily visible from the planet’s surface. A low rumble of thunder and the beginning of heavy rainfall signaled Ziz’s success. This was no mere storm…
Cerulean was the first to notice the change in the ocean waters, slowly pushing her with increasing intensity. She abandoned her plan of attack on the spider, now stuck on the ocean floor, rolling in the sand as the strange force acted upon the surrounding waters. The air pressure above had reached mind-blowingly low levels, and the wind had increased to terrifying speeds, literally sucking the ocean upwards and bombarding it with wind, causing the entire harbor to pour into the city like a massive tsunami. Cerulean made the decision to surface and deal with the weather controlling bird.
It was a mistake the warrior regretted instantly.
Above the surface raged a titanic hurricane unlike anything ever seen on earth. Huge waves smashed across the partially flooded city, smashing whatever the god-like winds had not already completely torn down. Huge pierces of debris ranging from concrete blocks, steel grinders, and entire trees raced across the lightning filled sky like airplanes, and several massive tornadoes had already touched down, scooping up water and concrete alike in their massive funnels. And it was one of these swirling twisters that caught Cerulean as she surfaced to investigate.
The surprised dragon was pulled from the ocean and immediately hammered by the powerful winds of the tornado, carrying her higher and higher into the air. The swirling air shifted, their high pressure concentrating into several dozen blades of wind. Cerulean’s hide was split open repeatedly by the razor-like wind, bloody gashes crisscrossing her wings, back, and chest. The twister finally released it’s hold on its captive, and the warrior was sent flying beyond the flooded section of the city, smashing into the hard pavement face-first and skidding across several blocks, smashing a few structures lucky enough to survive the hurricane’s wrath.
Although the tornado had disappeared, the massive storm was still raging hard as ever. The winds weren’t enough to hurt the monsters, but they were noticeable enough, and Cerulean was forced to dodge a few large pieces of debris more than once. A giant shape glided though the air towards her, seemingly unaffected by the howling storm around it. With a few flaps of her wings, Ziz’s talons touched down on the ruined ground. She wasted no time for words, instead charging her opponent with long strides. As she closed in on the dragon, her wings flared open, carrying her up like a parachute. At the same time, both of her strong legs kicked out at her enemy, smashing six curved talons deep though the dragon’s ribcage and knocking the air out from the lighter fighter. The blow knocked Cerulean to the ground, as Ziz prepared to follow up with a electrical orbs: the patterns on the tips of her tail feathers surging with lightning…

As Ziz's tail flashed, Cerulean mentally yanked a sheet of water from the air, compressed it into a thick barrier, and interposed it between herself and Ziz. The electrical cluster struck the barrier, which dispersed the charge through its watery contents, which Cerulean was warping around herself. Ziz screeched in frustration as the swirling barrier absorbed her attack, then screamed again, this time in pain as water formed into icicles that were rapidly forced into her hide.
Blood mingled with water as Cerulean turned the rains of the hurricane into a grasping hand tat enveloped Ziz before smashing her into the side of one of the few intact structures in the area. Cerulean then beat her mighty wings and went airborne, once more, only to receive a rude awakening as a loop of webbing grabbed her by the ankle and swung her back down to the ground. Volcuris, who had been forgotten in the preceding scuffle, had snared the dragon and was in the process of reeling her back in towards the harbor. Cerulean, however, was not one to take this lying down.
A compacted blade of ice, a mere molecule thick, easily sliced through the web before it was joined by several others, all headed for Volcuris. The youkai screeched in agony as her flesh was sliced to ribbons, her blood, or something like it, spilling all across the harbor, as Cerulean charged up a frost beam and aimed it right at the spider's head...

Volucris was not going to allow herself to be hit like that... but her being in the water would normally make dodging near impossible. However, the spider had a trick up her sleeve to make such a thing doable despite her lack of swimming prowless. Bending her legs down, she leapt upward like a spring at the last moment, the frozen beam flying right under her as she then landed on the body of Celulean, her spear-like legs digging into the dragons flesh. The bio-weapon howled on pain as the spider kept herself latched on, pinning the beast underneath her bulk. But Cerulean wasn't going to let Volucris have her way, for the dragon began thrashing around wildly, smashing the arachnid against the side of a building. Blood burst from Volucris's maw, an her exoskeleton rattled and shook from the blow, forcing her to let go. Cerulean flew up high, and dove down toward the spider, trying to splatter her where she was.
But even dazed, the arachnid had a plan. Waiting until the last moment, she leapt up again, but this time, she also swung her abdomen forward, and three balls of webbing shot out. Only having enough time to close her eyes, Cerulean's face was plastered by the webbing, and the dragon crashed into the building, causing it to crumble. As Volucris landed safely on her legs, she hissed in delight as Cerulean, face bound by the webbing, flailed around on the ground, trying to rip it off. Thanks to her eyes being closed, the dragon wasn't having her yes be sliced into by the sharp webbing, but the rest of her face and her eyelids were being dug into as the substance rubbed against her scales. Volucris chuckled to herself as she neared the thrashing dragon. A perfect opportunity to strike, and a feast laid down right for her. Her mandibles extended outward, and clamped together as she prepared to dig them onto Cerulean's hide...
She stopped. The hairs on her legs were shaking. Something was amiss.
Suddenly, she leapt to the side, and not even a second later, a lightning bolt crashed down where she had been standing. The spider whirled around, and saw the Queen of the Skies above her, having recovered from Cerulean's assault sooner than Volucris had expect. A shame, really... but the spider was willing to change her plans up abit. Webbing began to churn between the mandibles as Volucris shot out a strand of it right at the airborn bird...

(OCC: Forgot this thing existed somehow... sorry 'bout that.)
A gust of wind exploded from Ziz's wings with a mighty flap. Flung away by the force, the sticky webbing flew back right into the face of its owner! Volucris unleashed a screech of hatred as her own webbing smothered her face. Clawing away at the blindfold with her spiny legs, Volucris failed to notice the energy building up inside Ziz's open beak. A powerful beam of pure electricity exploded against the side of her abdomen, flooring the heavy spider and vaporizing the impact point, leaving behind a jagged, cauterized hole. Smoke from the powerful electric smoke seeped out from the joints in Volucris's legs. The stench of burt arachnid, filled the air as Volucris groaned.
Allowing the spider to recover. Ziz circled down to face Cerulean. Both opened fire at the same time; a freezing ice beam tearing across the bird's chest as explosive ball lightning blew small bits of flesh from the dragon's hide. The bird fired again, this time with a gust of razor wind that sliced deep into the bicep of Cerulean. Ziz folded her wings and dived down towards the warrior, talons outstretched before her to puncture the dragon's back...

Cerulean banked in the air so as to avoid Ziz's diving strike, the talons catching her along the flank instead of her spine. While painful, it wasn't the worst hit she had ever endured, as she fought against the pain. Fortunately, Ziz's dive had put her right past Cerulean, as the frost dragon blanketed the back of the bird's head in ice, courtesy of her Frost Beam. Ziz's pained screech was cut to a squawk as Cerulean mentally tugged at the layer of ice, taking Ziz with it as she smashed the bird down into the recovering Volucris. The giant spider demon flailed as she was mercilessly pounded into the ground, a plume of dust and debris rising all around them as Cerulean winged overhead.
Her assault was not yet finished though, as huge columns of water erupted from the harbor before fragmenting and coalescing into large chunks of ice. With a mental flick Cerulean dropped her kaiju-scaled hail storm onto the two entangled opponents, pelting them with super-compacted ice crystals easily the size of their heads. Screams and shrieks filled the air as Cerulean exhausted her supply of ammunition. When the assaul finally died down, both spider and bird were covered in nasty bruises and shards of rapidly melting ice. Cerulean continued to circle overhead as a fog began to blanket the battlefield, obscuring her from view. At the same time, the temperature surrounding the bird and spider was rapidly beginning to climb, as fog turned to steam...

OOC: This still lives? I had no idea!
Volucris and Ziz were caught in the steam blanket, the scorching temperatures in causing more harm to the bird than to the spider. After all, spending most of her time in the heated subterranean tunnels leading to the Underworld gave one something of a minor resistance to heat in this case. Oh it stung, yes... but it could have been worse.. though that didn't come with lightning insurance. Volucris hissed, ignoring the pain caused by her bruises and burnt abdomen as she turned on her fellow sufferer! Her fangs dug into Ziz's flesh, pumping rich, deadly poison into the body of the bird, before twisting her head up, sending the injured bird up toward Cerulean. Eyes widening, the dragon was caught off guard by the powerful throw, both of them crashing into each other, knocking Cerulean out of the sky and down into the steaming fog with the sinister arachnid.
Cerulean groaned as she got back up, as did Ziz, the latter's bite wound already starting to get infected, while the former now had her own large bruise on her side. In this dense steam that she had made, she should have been able to find the spider... yet, where was she? It was so dense... perhaps she should dispel of it...
The attack came from behind.
Several sharp pains dug into Cerulean's back, flooring the dragon on her stomach as Volucris pounced upon her. Her legs dug into the scaly hide of the creature, she was anchored in, pinning the struggling dragon where she was as Volucris leaned in, ready to deliver a nice, poisonous bite to the back of Cerulean's neck...
