Name: Halion One (“hah-lee-on”)
Aliases: The Electric Enforcer, The Gladiator, The War Machine, The Tower of Power
Gender: N/A
Height: 120 meters
Length: 180 meters
Weight: 120, 000 tons
Appearance
His limbs
Halion One is a tall war machine. He has six optics and large, forward-facing spikes looming over his head, as well as sharp fangs. His armor is dark blue, striped with dark grey, and has some minor silver and orange highlights. It consists mostly of sharp ridges. He possesses large, clawed fingers, and his tail is tipped with a spiked club. He has three clawed toes and assorted weapons attached to his body; more prominently, two cannons on his back.
Personality
Halion One is, quite literally, built for combat. His AI shows regard towards allies, but he has no mercy for his targets, focused entirely on the goal of neutralizing them. Halion is a powerhouse of strategic brutality and toughness suited for both long-ranged and short-ranged combat. He answers only to his creators, the Mehrksis.
Attacks
- Ixion: Ixion is the name given to the electric weapon attached to Halion One’s back. It is notably his favorite. It is a spiked mace, attached to a chain swirling with lightning bolts – the chain’s pieces held together by magnetism. It creates shockwaves when striking, and inflicts both blunt and slashing damage. The blue machine can hook enemies against the spikes and lift them up. When sheathed, the flail folds by separating into smaller plates, kept into a specific compartment between the war machine’s shoulder cannons. Ixion is constantly electrically charged, with the exception of when it is stored.
- Meteor Strike: Shot from the large cannons mounted against Halion One’s shoulder blades. These are a total of 32 red, auto-guided bomb-like projectiles made of alien energy. They burst on contact, with the explosions lingering for a moment to choke foes. The homing bombs are fast and useful for breaking through tough materials, but there is a drawback; it takes minutes for the weapon to reload automatically by creating new bombs. However, to make up for it, the mechanical being can use only one cannon at a time and use the other while it reloads.
- Railway Spike Guns: Installed into the hands’ knuckles are electromagnetic launchers, guns that use electromagnetism to fire incendiary rounds at a very high velocity. The metal spikes fired have their tips heated before being launched at a rapid rate. They are used to penetrate tough materials and burn their insides.
- Meat Grinders: Meat grinder-like weapons are installed on the underside of Halion One’s forearms. They are most useful when a foe is grappling with the war machine. They are kept retracted and protected by armor plates. These armor plates slide sideways to reveal the blades, which are then pushed to stick out. Alternatively, Halion can retrieve the blades themselves to use them as throwing weapons.
- Heat-Based Attacks:
Flamethrower: Halion can project a portion of the fire of his core into a billow of flames from his mouth.
Flare: Instead of a billow of flames, he can expel small waves of flames outwards.
*Zhu-Rong Flare: Named after the ancient Chinese god of fire, this is a much more powerful version of his normal Flare. By overheating his core, Halion can cause a gigantic shockwave and a firestorm which has a radius of about 1000 meters.
- Flaming Whips: As their name implies, these are two whips made of flame, whose handles are stored in the robot’s thighs. They each have a length of 300 meters.
- Laser Katana: Kept sheathed on the side of the machine’s left shin. It is, as its name suggests, a katana sword that has a laser blade, which is turned off when sheathed.
- Electrokinesis: Though he runs off thermal energy, Halion One is also capable of using the electricity in his circuits – generated by the particles constantly charged by components around his flaming core – and project it, as well as being able to shape it to an extent. For example, he can switch the trajectory of the bolts to form lightning balls or nets. Halion is capable of magnetizing his body to attract objects to him. His AI is capable of using this “electrokinesis” strategically, such as using conductive surfaces to reach foes from afar. This ability gives him a wide variety of attack or passive options. Notably, he can use it to travel faster in the air or recharge his thermal power by channeling electricity throughout his body and absorb the heat, although he will choose to drain objects or foes from electricity, or absorbing the energy of heat-based attacks to recharge his supply.
- Ion Beam: Using the same energy as the one used by his jets, Halion One can project it into a concentrated blast, which is able to melt most metals. Though these blasts are often fired from the mouth, they can also be fired from the robot’s eyes.
- Physical Weaponry: Halion’s armor design features sharp, pointed edges. These face downwards and are extremely awkward, if not nearly impossible, to get a hold of, preventing enemies from grabbing him by these points, while still allowing him to harm foes by passing his plates across them. The longest points on his body are his head, elbow, knee and tail club’s spikes. Besides his sharp fangs and strong bite force, Halion possesses very long, sturdy claws. Those of his feet serve to anchor him firmly in the ground – this and his heavy weight give him a solid stance and make him difficult to knock over, as well as allowing him to deliver firmer physical blows. Those of his hands, backed by his strength, are savage mauling weapons. These hand claws can retract slightly to allow him to form fists to punch with more ease. The robot has a long, anteater-like tongue, which can constrict foes with enough force to crush ribs, or heat up to strangle and scorch foes. Halion can lift monsters with his tongue along, which also means that it is extremely difficult to rip it out of his mouth.
- Piston Punch: The war machine can launch his forearms at a distance of 500 meters, after which he will reel them back with the chain they are attached to. This is actually the very same chain, whose root is in his shoulders, that makes up his hooks – instead of firing simply the hooks, the mechanical warrior fires his arms. The added force and speed which his arms are sent flying with gives him three times the punching power he would normally have.
- Gravity Guns: Installed in the elbows’ spikes, these weapons can throw foes off their feet, or rip chunks off their bodies. This is done by sending a leash of energy that lightens particles.
- Gooey Grenades: Just next to his shoulder cannons, Halion has storage devices containing a green, goo-like liquid. He can toss theses blob-like grenades at his foes and they will stick to them. To organics, mere contact with the alien liquid feels sore even before they burst, as it elevates sensitivity of the nerves and has acid-like properties. The actual explosion occurs at the center of the sticky grenade, causing the rest of the liquid to splatter to cover more ground, after which it will explode. When detonating, the goo will generate enough heat to melt most metals, if the acidic properties do not get to them first, and it reacts strongly to heat. As such, Halion will often choose to detonate his grenades with lightning bolts or other heat-based attacks to trigger and empower the explosion, rather than commanding them to burst. The detonation itself has a radius of 50 meters – the splatters will cover more ground. The goo is actually heat-seeking, and so will stay stuck on target even after being sent flying by the detonation, unless the target has extremely little body heat. Alternatively, he can throw the goo on the ground to form a field of mines, which, depending on proximity of the foe, might cause them to crawl towards the target.
- Freezing Missiles: Fired from shoulder pods, these are guided bursts missiles, which inflicts a cooling agent upon contact. Halion will commonly fire them into an enemy’s open mouth or wounds, or have them work in conjunction with his heat-based abilities to weaken the integrity of materials he wishes to punch through.
Powers
- Cybernetic Strength: Halion’s mechanical muscles are quite powerful, allowing him not only to drag his bulk, armor and weapons, but also make him capable of lifting 300, 000 tons above his head. If it falls down to it, Halion will still be able to hold his own in close-quarters combat.
- Flight: With the help of eight ion jets scattered across his body – two on his back, two below his shoulders, two behind his thighs and knees – Halion can fly at speeds of up to Mach 3. He is capable of reaching faster speeds with his electrokinesis by supercharging himself to empower his jets, or creating electromagnetic repulsion fields to rocket him.
- Grappling Hooks: Installed besides the Meat Grinders, these are sharp grappling tools used to immobilize foes. A powerful electric discharge causes the foe’s muscles to lock up, preventing any struggling to get rid of the wires. The hooks’ penetrating power comes from the fact that it is the same launching device that allows Halion to throw his forearms, allowing the hooks to pierce through materials without too much trouble.
- Shielded Circuitry: The electric gladiator does not have to fear about his circuitry. Magnetism does not bother him, nor does thermal stress, the latter of which he actually absorbs to power himself. His wires are installed close to each other and protected by rubber-like materials of Colossian origins. Similarly to his armor plating’s design, it is difficult to grab the wires to pull them due to how they are firmly connected and kept together tightly. Their protection against attacks is moderate.
- Armor: The mechanical guardian’s armor is very tough, capable of taking large amounts of punishment before buckling. His armor plating’s design has little to no grabbing points, and it is difficult to get a hold of the “spikes” his armor plates display.
Weakness
The Mehrksis did not deem it necessary to sacrifice protection for mobility with Halion One. He is very slow and can rather easily be outrun. Cold-based attacks can also impend his heat-based abilities. The armor covering his underbelly and the undersides of his limbs is slightly weaker, and its plates are mostly straight, which makes them easier to strike.
