YIMAKAgainst BERGUNTHA battle of brutes. A brutal battle of behemoths! Ref: Eenie miney meenie moe... Intro:The area flickered. A single beam of electronic brilliance split the skies in two halves. Soon, a thunderous shape was formed in the middle of the column. The being rose and stood tall, flexing his arms and repeatedly clenching his plated fists. He took a deep breath and opened his pupil-less, apple green eyes, and he looked down. Bergunth. The fearless, disciplined brute looked around. He was back from a vacation, and now was time to be back in action - fighting against his will for the simple entertainment of many. The monstrosity sighed and rolled his eyes, although it was impossible to see. At least, this was nice combat practice. All he had to do was wait for his opponent to show up. Then, the battle would commence...

Bergunth did not have long to wait. Yimak appeared in a flash of light. At first he ignored his opponent. Instead looking around at the arena. Grass, a few scatterd trees, this simply wouldn't do. Without a second thought. A gushing stream of blue plasma erupted from his palm. Setting massive swathes of the area on fire. Once he was sure that the area was ablaze, he looked back at Bergunth. Pure blue met pure green. Then Yimak rose into a fighting stance. A furry toy. How fun!

When the announcement rolled over the area, Bergunth did not move an inch. He had always been taught that the best fighting stance was the one he was the most comfortable with - the one that would allow him to act quickly. So, Bergunth chose to stay perfectly still, standing tall like a unmovable mountain.
Yimak, on the other hand, charged towards the walking mountain like a wild animal. Perhaps he assumed that his opponent offered him the first blood. When he was close enough, he leaped and thrust his fist forward.
He did not expect Bergunth to act so fast.
With blurring speed, Bergunth's large paw closed shut around Yimak's fist. His grip tightened, cracking bones as they slid against one another. Nerves and connective tissues tore apart, causing several internal bleeds. They soon became external when Bergunth's claws slowly dug into the flesh, causing the brute's life fluid to pour out. Yimak tried to tug his arm off, but Bergunth would not allow him.
Yimak was strong, but Bergunth was nearly thrice as strong!
With a flex of a muscle, Yimak was flung over Berg's head like a ragdoll, only to be brought down like a hammer on an anvil on his attacker's knee. There was a sickening crack as Yimak's skull split open like a coconut, and his blood spilled on the ground and on Bergunth's knee. The sense was knocked out of him, and he stayed on the ground for a moment, before rising rather shakily due to his painful hand, from which blood still spurted with every heartbeat.
With his other hand, Yimak lashed out, planting his claws into the back of Bergunth's leg, where no armor protected it. However, he was surprised again when his claws only entered halfway through before stopping cold. He tugged hard, stripping the leg from a piece of meat. Bergunth looked down, tilting his head at the sight of his torn flesh. He crouched down slowly, before grabbing Yimak and lifting him off the spot he remained on with seemingly no effort. Taking a step forward, the bear launched his prey in front of him. Yimak went cartwheeling through the air before slamming against a boulder. The structure instantly became pebble and pain shook Yimak's brutal form. His kidney had been hit, and was now swollen like a balloon. The pain would have floored any monster, but Yimak was different. As he rose to his feet, Bergunth crouched and clenched his fists, waiting for his foe to come back...

Yimak looked at his foe, then let loose a stuttering roar that could be seen as laughter. His backpack began to hum, and two spiraling blue lasers shot out of the cannons above his shoulders. The beams seemed to reach Bergunth in the blink of an eye. Sending the Martial Arts Master spiraling back. A trail of smoke following him. Bergunth hit the ground with a crash. Squashing trees in his impact.
Yimak let out another roar of laughter. He walked up to his seemingly downed foe, like a flash, Bergunth was up and drove a massive punch into Yimaks chest, only to have his forward movement arrested by a swarm of nanites. As soon as Bergunths fist connected, a stream of nanites spread up his hand like molten silver. Yimak seemed to grin, but it was mixed with pain. The force that Bergunth had managed to deliver made Yimak hut terribly, but he returned the favor with a blast of his mouth laser. As soon as the blast hit, the nanites retreated. Flooring Bergunth once again. Burning away hair, and scorching hair and flesh.
Yimak stepped away from Bergunth, a whirring was heard, once again emanating from Yimaks backpack, then a massive swarm of missiles coated Bergunth. Showering him with dozens of small explosions. Bergunth scrambled away. He was covered in burns, and in some places, flesh was blasted off. Yimak let out another laughing roar, and brought his tail down to slash his foe...

((For your information, Berg doesn't have fur/hair. It's only a metaphor because his scales look like fur.))
The appendage came down like a hammer, creating cracks on Berg's armor - as Yimak expected. The armored monolith on the ground caught the tail between his paws as he muscled himself to his feet before it could retract. With the appendage stuck in his grip, Bergunth tugged hard, pulling the tail sideways.
CRUNCH! said the tail as part of its connective tissues tore like paper, stopping Yimak's misplaced laughter cold.
The Brutal Strategist allowed his opponent to go free as blood flowed from the torn flesh of his wounded tail. He watched on as Yimak posted himself in front of him and fired forth blasts. Acting quickly, Bergunth dodged them and crouched, sending blue bolts knocking them out of the air. He pulled a plated fist in front of him, which he clenched into a brick. His limb caught aflame with alien, blue power, and he opened his palm just as blue shapes leaped from his fingers, flying in the air like auto-guided missiles.
For many, these bolts were nothing special. But not for Berg - to him, they were beautiful. The came and went, being momentarily amazing before vanishing completely. Somehow, they reminded him of the improvised firework shows his mother would orchestrate when he and his sister were little.
The blue projectiles slammed into his knees and elbows, and a last one hit Yimak in the throat. The flesh split open where it was hit; spreading like a virus, the power charred flesh, muscle and even bone, killing the nanites that ran through the brute's body. The little explosions caused by the nanites detonating worsened Yimak's pain, to a point where he parted his maw to unleash a bellow of rage.
In front of him, Bergunth pounced off the ground. Locking Yimak's head with his elbow as he wrapped a burly arm around it, the bear flipped himself forward, tearing the brute off his feet and back-first on the ground underneath his girth. His fist raised high, Bergunth clobbered down on his foe's ribs. The blow resounded like thunder, nearly breaking the ribs like twigs. With the wind knocked out of his foe's lungs, Bergunth hopped back and huffed blue smoke, preparing to fire a blue fireball in Yimak's wounded chest...

When Yimak toppled over like a card castle after being hit by the fireball, Bergunth waited patiently. Second after second passed, but Yimak failed to rise. Bergunth was patient, but he was also no fool - perhaps his foe had been knocked unconscious?
Seconds became minutes, but there was still no movement from the downed brute. Yet, Bergunth still waited. He sat down with his legs crossed and elbows rested against his legs, his back hunched and head hung low.
A single pillar of light, after more time, grabbed the blue bear to return him to his quarters.

Time is up, Ebillulz. Yimak is DQ'd and Bergunth wins by default.

Aaah... ol' DQ winning, we meet again. But, I'm not disappointed; I enjoyed it for the time it lasted. A short battle was actually just what I needed to get back in the groove. I wonder if Ebi had something urgent that prevented him from posting, though. Or maybe... Berg is just cursed with never having a completed match, hahaha.
