Jake the Fire Spittervs Utsuhovs NanookRef: Hayes, I think... [You thought right, young grasshopper. -Hayes]Intro: Nanook was overjoyed when he emerged from the light of the teleportation beam. After the uncomfortable heat of that unfamiliar environment of fire, the polar bear was pleased to find himself in his natural environment - a soothing white landscape of ice and snow. He was near the coast, where large icebergs drifted across the open water like great platforms of ice. Further inland, huge glaciers rose up to the heavens, forming rough and uneven terrain full of icy walls and hidden pitfalls that led into freezing water or small ice caves. A huge blizzard hammered at his fur coat, the winds so thick with snow that even Nanook had trouble seeing. It was home.

The second arrival wasn't to come down as most fighters did, but in her own special way. Dark clouds began to gather overhead, and winds began to blow as they twisted and funneled around themselves. A massive twister, easily 900 meters in diameter, descended down from the dark clouds and engulfed the bear. Nanook looked around uneasily as the twister around him raged, blowing up ice and snow and cracking the ice, causing the water underneath to spray up around him, yet he himself was safe within the heart of the twister.
And them, from above, came the Hell Raven, flying down from the dark skies and landing on a tall spire of ice in the middle of the raging twister. The bird looked down at the bear with interest. Her second foe, another bear? What was it with the UCA and them sending bears after her? Had she pissed off some bear god in her sleep again? Wouldn't be the first time she had done that. And this coldness around her, she didn't like it one bit. It made her uneasy...
But she didn't know there was a third foe coming to the fray...

The third opponent arrived with a flash of the teleporter, nowhere near as flashy as Utsuho. Jake the Fire Spitter gave a short cry of surprise at the sudden change around him, remembering the last time it had happened, and that...THING he had faced. This time however, he was in an environment he didn't recognize at all! It was cold, white, and the wind was whipping harder than he had ever felt before. Nothing like the man made structures he was used to.
He growled deeply when he spotted the bear, his mind going straight from confusion, to anger. The last time this happened he had fought against that bizarre...psychic...alien...THING! While Nanook was nowhere near as bizarre as the other, Jake knew right away what this meant. He was looking at another opponent. From the corner of his eye he saw another thing, and all his attention turned to that one. The Hell Raven seemed perfectly content eyeing her two opponents who sat on the snowy ground below her, surprised by the dragons appearance, but intrigued all the same.
Jake unfurled his large, armored wings, ignoring the winds whipping even harder against them, and let loose a roar at Utsuno, and Nanook.
It was a roar of challenge.

"Monsters!" revved the Announcer like a machine of passion. "FIGHT!"
(Order: KK first, then Gira, then Jake. Rinse, wash, and repeat.)

(OCC: Holy shit, I'm so sorry about that wait. I've been unbelievably busy with college. I have, honest to god, the longest days of ANY class in that college, and plenty of homework to boot. But now been more manageable, so I'm finally able to get back in here for real, and I will do my best to make sure this doesn't happen again.)
The bear was already nervous when the very wind around him began to sweep around him to create a whirlpool of falling snow. So when the booming voice of the announcer thundered across the icy landscape without warning, Nanook’s fight-or-flight instincts fired up instantly. The polar bear charged at full speed towards Utsuho’s icy perch, his primitive mind associating her arrival with the beginning of this terrible storm. Perhaps if he drove the bird away, the twister would disappear?
The bear tucked in his head as he rammed the icy spire as hard as he possibly could with his shoulder. A cry of surprise escaped the hell raven as the base of her spire shattered, and the bird quickly found the ground rushing up to meet her. She spread her wings, letting them carry her up and away from what would have otherwise been a hard landing.
Nanook lunged. His jaws caught the middle leg of the bird before she could fly beyond reach. Pain jolted up her leg as she was dragged back down by the powerful mammal. She felt his huge paws close in around her, but Nanook flinched and let goof her torn leg, howling as the bird’s scalding hot touch burned the inside of his mouth. Utsuho’s wings flapped madly in an attempt to escape the enraged bear while he was distracted. The resulting winds scattered the blood from her leg across the snowy floor. She heard the bear snarling behind her as she managed to take off, but the bear struck out once again. His paw scooped up the smaller monster, but the bear couldn’t hold onto the burning raven for long. Nanook pulled his paw back, Utsuho pressed against it and held by curved claws. He spotted the Jake, and saw fire flash from the jaws of the deadly reptile. Unwilling to let that creature near him, the bear threw Utsuho as hard as he could.
The bird streaked towards Jake like a hardball. The dragon was knocked off his feet as the raven slammed into his abdomen. Utsuho crumpled into the snowy floor, bruises swelling up under her coat of feathers, vision temporarily blurred by the forceful impact.
The bear watched the two, growling as the thrashing, enraged dragon rolled to his feet. Fire gushed out from his open maw, and the reptile roared at the polar bear. This angry creature reminded Nanook of the furious tiger he had fought before, but this creature was covered in armor. The earlier blow had managed to crack a small section of the plated abdomen, but the dragon was much better off than Utsuho. Already Jake was stomping towards him, rage fueling his every breath.
As the apex predator of the arctic, Nanook was not one to refuse a challenge. The monster rose on his hind legs, bellowing at the approaching dragon. His enemy only responded with a short burst of flames that instantly melted the ice before him. Dropping on all fours, the bear charged his fiery challenger, quickly moving over the slippery ice with ease. Nanook smashed into the armored creature. Jake was thrown back by the bear’s sheer size and strength. He roared furiously as he skidded and bounced across the ice. The bear followed the dragon, groaning as he realized that that he had only managed to only crack another portion of the tough armor, this time on Jake’s chest. The bear bared [heheh, “bear bared”] his teeth at the thrashing, snarling dragon and lunged, jaws aiming to clamp down on the monster’s head…

The jaws of the bear clamped down onto the armored of the dragon, and Jake began to trash about, trying to free himself from the vice-like grip of the bear. Nanook gripped on for dear life as the dragon's wings began to beat, and flames spewed from his maw, trying to dislodge the mammal's lock on his head. The angle that Nanook had it bitten, though, was such that the flames couldn't hit the bear, and Jake was left thrashing about, all the while the polar bear kept his grip on...
Though both seemed to have forgotten they were within a giant flaming twister... or that their third opponent was recovering.
Utsuho rose up onto her three legs as she shook off the snow and ice. That had STUNG... The bear was strong, she would give him that... but when you played with fire, you were gonna get burnt... and she would show that to them in force! With a flap of the wings, the Hell Raven took off into the skies, the fiery energy coming from the twister spiraling around her form. Her beak opened, and the energies warped together, before she then fired them back down as a beam of flaming destruction. The two titans below, caught up in their tug of war match, were consumed in the beam, their hides and armor put to the limit as the hellfire flames engulfed them. What was worse, the very sea ice they were in was melting from it, and with such a weight on the thinning ice...
CRASH!
As her beam ended, Okuu couldn't help but admire her handiwork as the ice caved in, taking both fighters down into the icy water. Good... they could both drown in the frozen sea... or come up in the only air socket for miles... where she would be waiting. The Hell Raven flew down low, and waited, waiting for one of the two to come up for air, or a reprieve from the frozen ocean. And sure enough, air bubbles began to rise up out of the ice pocket, signaling someone was coming up. Seizing the chance, Utsuho flew forward, talons arched as she dove in...
What she got, was not flesh as she had hoped, but the head armor of Jake, though it had been scratched and cracked from Nanook's bite. The talons sliced against the armor as the dragon retaliated with his own fire breath. At this range, Utsuho was too close to dodge, and cried out as the firestream slammed into her, sending her careening backward. It wasn't so much the flames... but the force of the actual flames that had hurt her, and her current bruises weren't helping. Catching herself in midair, the Hell Raven flew right back toward the fire dragon as he tried to rise out of the frozen sea, her beak and talons primed to slice into any area that wasn't covered by armor...

Unfortunately for the Hell Raven, Jake saw the attack coming, beating his powerful wings against the raging winds. While he wasn't quite fast enough to get out of Utsuho's way, he did manage to get his claws level with her talons, catching them. Well, two of them at least. Utsuho's third leg and beak jabbed at Jake, denting and scratching the armor on his head and chest. Jake gave a roar of fury, which sooned turned to a hiss of pain as the heat of the Hell Racen's body started effecting him. Taking a deep breath, Jake unleashed a gout of flames into Utsuho, hitting her right in the chest.
Releasing the Hell Raven as she was blown back, Jake continued to rise, though with some difficulty. He prepared to dive towards the Hell Raven, before remembering that something else had fallen into the ice with him. Nanook shot up out of the water, catching Jake's tail in his mouth, just above the blade. Jake gave a shriek of surprise as he was pulled back towards the water, trying as hard as he could to stay in the air.
Utsuho soon righted herself as well, seeing the predicament her foes were in, once again caught up between themselves and ignoring her. She summoned more of her energy, preparing to blast the bear and dragon, but the two had indeed noticed her, Nanook releasing Jake to drop safely back in the water, and Jake, not expecting sudden loss of weight, shooting upwards, Utsuho's beam blasting harmlessly into the ice below. Before she could make another move however, Jake slammed into her from above, forcing her down under his own weight.
The two crashed to the ground, though Jake quickly disentangled himself from the searing flesh of the bird. Nanook once again burst forth from the water, the chill barely even registering to the arctic beast. He charged Jake from behind, ready to maul the dragon, but it would not be so. As soon aa he was in the range of Jake's tail, the Fire Spitter whipped his tail around, bashing it into Nanook's side, blade first. Nanook lost his balance, crashing to the ground, as Jake summoned more flame in his maw...

His fur dripping wet, Nanook struggled to rise as Jake's flames sped towards him. But suddenly, the his water covered coat froze, almost instantly covering him in a thick layer of ice. The flames washed over him, melting the ice as fast as it had froze, but Nanook was spared from the worst of the attack. The flames still licked his hide, burning sections of his body, but it could have been worse.
Nanook charged, swatting Jake's chest with his paw. The dragon hit the ground, tiny cracks joining the rest on his chest. The bear was employing a useful tactic he had learned while hunting armored prey: Wear down the same spot until the armor was breached. Hoisting his weight on his hind legs, Nanook stood at his towering full height, arms raised over his head. A layer of ice formed around his paws, decorated with short spikes. With a thunderous roar, he slammed his paws down as hard as he could.
The ice encrusting his paws exploded as he drove them into Jake's cracked chest. Weakened by the earlier attacks, the thick defense caved in from the tremendous blow, and the shattered icicles dug themselves into the open crevices and cracks between the broken metallic plates. Their sharp ends poked at the vulnerable flesh underneath.
A sudden sharp pain pierced his shoulder as Utsuho dug her talons into the bear's hide. The bear wheeled around, trying to reach her with snapping jaws. Quickly realizing the futility of his attempts, a coat of ice blanketed itself over his shoulder... and around the raven's foot. The bird gave a surprised squawk and attempted to pull away from her frozen prison, but her foot was stuck fast to the bear.
Without hesitation, the mammal immediately charged towards the hole in the ice, and the Utsuho's nuclear heart leaped as she realized what he was about to do.
She stiffened as freezing water enveloped her, immediately cooling her burning body. Utsuho gasped at the shock of the sudden temperature change, and almost immediately regretted it as water entered her lungs. The bird began to panic, thrashing wildly as she tried to free her leg. The hole in the ice, a hopeful sphere of light, was shrinking into the darkness as Nanook descended further. The ice suddenly began to melt, but the bear swung out at the bird before she could surface. His paw smashed against her skull, stunning the avian as Nanook kicked his way to the ice covered surface above.
His paw hammered at the ice, first cracking, than finally shattering it. He gladly gulped down fresh air as he breached the surface.
Nanook was outside the boundaries of the twister, having swum right underneath the raging winds. The dragon was still trapped inside, and Nanook hoped that he could avoid further battle. He would keep an eye out for Jake in case he had followed. As for the bird? The bear could only pray that the terrifying nuclear menace had drowned...

Down in the icy depths of the water, Utsuho shook herself awake. Why... why was she down here? Why was she in this alien, hostile environment? Oh wait... now she remembered... caught onto the bear's frozen ice and dragged under here. That last hit stung like nothing else, and she flinched from the freezing cold... A strong flap of her wings propelled her for the surface. as she broke through the water, she crawled up out of the hole that Nanook had made... and saw the bear facing her, his white coat giving off streams of fridgid air. She turned back, and saw that they were out of the fiery twister she had made... Her eyes narrowed as she turned back to the bear.
NO ONE escaped from her self-made arena! NO ONE DID!
Letting out a blood-curling shriek, the fire bird flew up into the air, and dove right toward Nanook. The bear rose up onto his hind legs, and prepared to slap her out of the air, when she suddenly twisted straight upward. Nanook turned his head up, confused by this action. WHy had the bird not hit him?
And why was the bird now glowing like the su- Uh OH.
Sure enough, Utsuho was glowing, steam rising off of her body as she erupted into a brilliant light. Nanook was blinded by the light, forced to cover his eyes... Which was just what Utsuho wanted. Now she dove right back toward the bear, and slammed into his gut, her sharp beaka nd talons ripping through his flesh and hide. Nanooh roared as he was pushed onto his back, but Utsuho wasn't done with him... Her sharp talons dug into the bear's flesh, and flapping her wings, she flew up into the air, straining to carry the blinded, raging animal. Carrying something over twice her weight... it was a strain for her to do, and Nanook's thrashing wasn't helping at all. The bear swung his claws in a fury, and all of them hit home, slicing into her legs and chest, barely missing her 3rd eye. But the Yatagarasu kept the grip on right, until they both plunged back into the flaming tornado. Once they were in, Utsuho let go, allowing the bear to be thrown around inside the raging firestorm, where the dragon was as well... she would be sure to not allow another escape from her own arena to occur...

Jake had merely watched as the two brought their fight under the icy water, then back again, his anger towards the two boiling. Were they ignoring him?! Was he not a threat?! He didn't try and escape the twister, no he let the power the twister held wash over him.
As Utsuho dropped Nanook into the vortex, she searched for the dragon, not noticing that he hovered above her, gathering energy from the very firestorm she had created. With an amplified roar, Jake dropped down on Utsuho, feet first. The Hell Raven gave a shriek of surprise as Jake's weight slammed into her, pushing her into the ice below. He quickly ascended once more and unleashed his gathered energy. A huge blast of energy slammed into the ground, coming from Jake's mouth, hands, even his wings. The ice melted immediately, Utsuho being pushed into the cold water once more. Cutting off his attack as he used the last of his energy. He eyed the water for a second, waiting for his opponent to resurface. When she didn't, he turned towards the tornado, trying to glimpse Nanook and continue their fight.
Utsuho burst out of the water, wailing in anger as she unleashed a huge blast of fire into Jake's chest. Jake screeched in agony as his armor was melted off his chest, the flames too intense for his armor to hold against. Once the raven cut off the attack, Jake merely fell from the sky, unable to cope with the pain. With a mighty crash, Jake slammed into the ice, steam pouring off his armor as the cold snow met boiling armor. Utsuho descended on the downed dragon, dragging her claws across his back. The combination of hot, cold, and pain shocked Jake to full awareness, his mind in a rage. He leapt off the ground, lunging after Utsuho as she began ti ascend. He caught one if her legs in his mouth, swinging her down into the ground. But he did not stop. He gathered up his energy, preparing to unleash his flames on the burds leg even as it was in his mouth...

(OCC: This new UCA is messing with my poor brain.)
Before Jake could roast the bird's leg, he felt powerful jaws lock around the back of his neck like fanged pliers. His armor bent inwards, pressing into his neck as Nanook squeezed. The dragon released Utsuho as he let out a gasp of pain, and the bear was quick to drag his opponent to the ground. He shook his head like a savage dog, and Jake roared as his head was whipped back and forth, sending pain stabbing through his neck. Forcing the dragon onto his back, Nanook, still dripping wet from his swim, raised his left paw into the air. The collected water froze as cold blue gas escaped his fur, transforming his paw into a long, sharp spear-like icicle. With a thunderous bellow, Nanook plunged his frozen weapon deep into the damaged chest of Jake. The armor there had been breached, and the blade quickly pushed through the shrapnel and crumpled armor to pierce the skin and flesh.
Three pairs of talons raked across Nanook's face. The bear snarled and withdrew his blade, coated in crimson blood as Jake's internal fluids gushed out the hole in his chest. The bear swung his icy arm at the bird, but missed the speedy flier. Slamming his paw into the ground and shattering the blood-soaked weapon, Nanook sprinted after the avian, snapping at her feet only a few dozen meters above. The hellraven twisted around and soared far over Nanooks growling head, preparing to carpet bomb him in miniature suns.
The bear leaped straight into the air with as much strength as his hind legs would allow. Utsuho squawked in surprise and tried to ascend, but the bear's heavy paws clapped together around her head. She struggled in protest as they fell back to the ground, Nanook rolling in midair so that the bird lay under him. The ice splintered as the landed, causing an explosion of snow to wash around the edge of their small crater. The bird crushed and pinned under his heavy bulk, stunned and bruised by the attack, Nanook reached down to attempt to crush her skull in his jaws...

That, was to be a very grave mistake on the part of Nanook. Snapping to her senses faster than the bear had thought she would, Utsuho opened her beak, and a flaming pillar of hellfire spiraled out, and right into Nanook's opened maw. The bear howled and twisted in pain and agony as the beam ripped through the back of his throat, charring and spilling chilled blood. Letting go of the bird, Nanook dragged himself away, digging his mouth through the snow in an attempt to alleviate the pain. Utsuho staggered up onto her feet, and narrowed her eyes as the bird. spread her wings and prepared to take off...
A mistake on her part, for she should have been paying more attention to her surroundings.
A sharp pain pierced the back of Utsuho's head, forcing the bird onto the ground. Above her, Jake seemed to chuckle, his tail whishing back and forth as he held his hands against his bleeding chest, the birds blood running along the armored bits of the tip of the tail. He twisted ar ound and prepared to slam down the tail on the Hell Raven's head, when Utsuho rolled out of the way, and kicked up snow into Jake's face. The dragon snapped and hissed as he was momentarily blinded, allowing the bird to finally get back up into the air. She looked down, focusing her eyes on both foes... They were proving to be a hassle... time to break out the big guns. The fiery energy that warped around her began to glow, and she flapped her wings, transforming it into twin miniature suns that she hurled down upon the fighters. With both monsters as they were, they couldn't escape the danger that was approaching. Nanook howled as his icicle fur and flesh was burned and charred, the flaming energies lashing out against him, while Jake's armor was heated to temperatures beyond their safety zone, and his flesh was steamed up, and roasted. Deciding to follow it up a notch, the Hell Raven this time formed an entire ring of the miniature suns, and flung them down at her foes, all 7 suns ready to explode upon contact...

So much power...so much pain. There was so much of it that Jake's body was, quite literally, burning up from it. If only there wasn't so much pain, he could have shot a miniature sun of his own. As it was, he could barely stay conscious as his armor pretty much roasted him alive. With each subsequent hit from Utsuho, more of his armor was peeled off, revealing the softer skin beneath. Nanook didn't fare much better, the mini suns bombarding the giant polar bear. Two of the suns hit Nanook, and thres hit Jake, the rest however slammed into the ground near the two, sending steam into the air, and causing the freezing water to temporarily boil! The ice below Nanook gave away, dropping him into the quickly cooling water. Jake was not do lucky.
Each mini sun slammed Jake harder into the ice, which, miraculously, didn't break. Jake's body was on fire, his dark green armor burnt black in some places, flowing red hot, amd even missing entirely in places. The majority of it remained however, and kept most of the heat trapped inside. Utsuho swooped down, claws extended to tear into the exposed flesh, unaware of the buildup beneath. The heat was unbearably painful, but ultimately was still energy. Energy that had nowhere to go, except in...or out. Jake's body naturally absorbed energy, which he could manipulate to his whim, but in his current state, he was acting purely on instinct, getting ready to shed his armor. The pain in his body reached a fever pitch, the armor literally glowing with heat, causing Utsuho to stop and cock her head to the side in curiosity. Jake's bloodshot eye's shot wide open, glaring at the bird, the glowing of his armor becoming blinding, before it literally exploded off of him.
Utsuho screeched in pain as shards of armor flew at her, not all of it solid. Some of it was melted to slag from her very own attack, which now stuck to her body and burned away at her flesh. She qas lucky she hadn't gotten any closer, if she did she could very well have been impaled by one of the larger pieces that now lay about the ground. Jake himself was gone, having fallen into the water after shedding, melting what ice had remained beneath him. Below the surfacr he swam, now that he wasn't weighed down by his armor, fighting against the cold to catch his bearings once more. He had lost his armor, depriving him of his greatest defense, but now the Hell Raven couldn't flay him alive, and he could eaaily keep up with the faster kaiju now. Plus, he could still use that...
Jake shot out of the water, quickly ascending towards Utsuho, who gave a squawk of surprise before sending a stream of her own flame at the dragon. With a flap of his powerful wings, Jake changed hia course, letting the fire pass harmlessly by, but Utsuho eould not be denied. She gave chase to the now faster, but still injured dragon, able to jeep uup with him despite the boost. Jake had a plan however, as the two flew around, Utsuho trying in vain to catch Jake with a blast of fire. He snapped both wings against his body, going into a dive that Utsuho followed. Once near the ground brought his wings back out, stopping his descent, and spinning around to face the oncoming bird. With a screech, Utsuho fired another blast of fire, which hit Jaje in the chest, bringing forth a hiss of pain, before he toom a deep breath, and spat out a huge fireball. Utsuho gave a shriek, flapping her powerful wings to stop her descent, trying to get out of the way in time, but she was too late. The concussive firebally slammedvinto her chest, blowing her backwards, higher into the air, before falling from the sky. Jake watched her go down, a frowl of satisfaction escaping his maw. With a wince, he looked at his injured body, remembering similar injuries from not so long ago.
As Jake lowered himself to the ground, he kept an eye on Utsuho, watching for any sudden movement. There was movement, but it wasn't from Utsuho. Nanook burst out of the ice in front of Jake, gasping for air, before grabbing one of Jake's legs with his paws. Now it was Jake's turn to shriek in surprise as the bear tried pulling himself free of the ice, using Jake as leverage. Jake struggled against the powerful grip, before bending over low enough ti sweep one of his wings across one of Nanook's limbs. Blood was spilt acriss the snow from the sharp blade-like wings, causing Nanook to release Jake, before digging his claws into the ice, and pulling himself out of the ice. Jake circled the bear as it shook itself. Neither combatant looked good, both were burnt and torn open, but neither was ready to give up. Jake charged, head low and ready to impale the bear with the horn on his snout...
