Hurrying down the halls of the UCA as fast as he could without appearing suspicious, Selstar cast a glance over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being followed. This was an extremely risky move. If someone knowledgable in the myths and legends of the underworld were to find out what he was up to... He didn't want to finish that thought. But under the threatening shadow of the False Gods, what other choice did he have?
He slowed as he came to the door leading to Yukari's living quarters. He peered around for spies one last time. When he was certain the halls were clear, he raised his fist t the door and knocked once. Twice. Three times.

"What do you want?" The voice of the owner of the room called out. Though it was a voice Selstar never heard before, he could tell it was the person he was looking for. "I'm not in the mood for visitors right now, kin of Kadru. So just leave... unless you're here not to mock me or hurl more insults."

From far behind Selstar, from down the hall, a small sphere of light could be seen slowly hovering behind a wall. The sphere observed Selstar closely, as if it was a living thing. What was he planning?....

"Of course not," said Selstar, keeping his voice slow and calm. He couldn't mess this up by having her drive him away. "I have a bit of a problem, you see, and if my sources are correct, I hear you yourself have a problem of your own. I believe we can help each other."

From behind the door, came a laugh, a tired, half-hearted laugh. Then, the door opened, and out stepped the owner. Needless to say, the last week had been torturous on Yukari, as well as taxing. her hair was beginning to grey out from the stress, and large bags were forming under her eyes. She looked at Selstar for a few seconds, ignoring the sphere behind him, before she laughed again. "You do not know of the problems I have, of the hell I have gotten myself into because of my desire for revenge. What could you possibly have, that would deal with a sadistic weed that wields more power than she should? Unless it's prime weed killer, then leave before I turn your legs into asphalt." There was no joy in her voice, no humor, just tired, sickened, and exhaustion. Helping out what she could during the Orsa crisis was one thing... but along with her now conflicted morality? Damn that shadowy dragon... and damn that stupid bird... no... they weren't the ones at fault... it was Minerva, that stupid brat that had almost turned her ambition into a fiery hellhole...

"I bring knowledge," he replied simply. "Knowledge of things many believe to be little more than legends. Knowledge of an ancient power. Knowledge of how to control it."
He glanced around quickly. "Do you mind if I came in?" he asked. "Perhaps it would be better if we were to discuss this in private. Others in the UCA might... get the wrong idea."

Yukari narrowed her eyes at Selstar. The hell was he babbling about? Ancient power? What was there to know about power that she didn't already know... The power to manipulate reality was all she needed... and yet, here was her frail, human body, unable to even use that power to its fullest. Just sending Persephone and Ketos back in time and back to the present had been exhausting for her... and then, there was that damn plant Yuuka Kazami, whose reservoir of power frightened her. If this was a power Yuuka didn't know about, and that she could use for herself... "Fine, come on in, but you better not dare waste my time." She hissed, yanking Selstar in before closing the door behind him. Now that he could fully see her, Selstar realized the woman was in a large, purple dress, something like a nightgown, which only seemed to reinforce her tired appearance. "So... what is your problem, and what is this solution you have to it?" She asked...

The sphere quickly zoomed after Selstar and Yukari, only for the door to be slammed on it. The light soon pressed itself close to the door to listen to what was going on...

"As you so keenly sensed earlier, I am an Ophorus," he said, looking around Yukari's room. His eyes wandered over the walls and ceiling, searching for anything that could be watching them. When he found nothing, a smile formed beneath his mask. So far this plan of his was working. "I don't suppose Kadru ever mentioned the False Gods around you? To make it short, they're here, in the UCA. All of them. And unfortunately, I know for a fact that at least one of them is intent on killing off the rest of our race." Finding himself a wooden chair, Selstar sat down and made himself comfortable. He looked Yukari in the eyes. "I need something to protect myself in case they catch wind of me. I was told that you might be able to help me obtain this... rare artifact."

Yukari snorted, turning her attention back to the tray of food that had been left for her earlier. Atleast food service had been kind to her the last week. She took a bite out of a donut on the tray, unaware of a small seed on it that she swallowed. "False Gods? Let me guess... Behemoth, Ziz, and Leviathan. Well, I can tell you for certain leviathan is no longer here. As for the other two... well, why should I help you with this? And what is this artifact you are talking about? Let me guess, some magical earn or vase to seal them away in?" She half-heartedly joked. It was easy for her to guess they were the False Gods. After all, they were godly beings that all heralded from the same place, and given what had happened with Kadru earlier when she had told her Leviathan was at the UCA those months ago...

Selstar smiled. "Because this same artifact can just as easily protect you from Yuuka. Or indeed, from any enemy that would wish to harm a young girl like yourself. And funny enough, this artifact would do the exact opposite of sealing anything away."
He leaned closer, clasping his hands together and propping his elbows up on his knees. "The residents of the underworld are not without their own superstitions and legends. But like any good legend, there lies underneath a glimmer of truth. One such legends speaks of terrible things lurking in the deepest, darkest depths of the underworld. And in the darkest of these regions - places even Persephone would not dare enter - there lies the Black Pit. Imagine if you will a yawning abyss that stretches on without end. It has no bottom. Not a flicker of light shines in this freezing place, and its walls of slippery black slime can only be navigated by narrow wooden staircase built into the sides of the Black Pit. The stairs have no railings, are frighteningly steep, and spiral down the pit for seemingly endless miles."
"They say the staircase leads to a prison: "Azorg'thu". A prison, if legends are to be believed, that is sealed off from the outside world by unimaginable power and energy. They say Azorg'thu is all but inescapable. No amount of energy or firepower, foundry manipulation or reality warping can penetrate its walls; not even the full might of the UCA itself. Nothing but the souls of the dead can get inside. But more importantly... nothing, absolutely nothing... can escape."

Yukari was impressed, as well as flattered by the age comment. This sounded like quite the prison. Only the dead went in, nothing got out. It sounded like the kind of place Yuyuko would rule, if the Netherworld weren't so open... then again, this sounded far more terrifying... and more up her alley. Oh, if only she could lock Yuuka away in there for all eternity. Never able to get out... just what she would love to see. "Now, this sounds all so interesting... but, what doe sthis artifact you want me to get for you have to do with this Azorg'thu place? Unless you want me to use it to let something out... But I cannot fathom-"
She stopped herself. Suddenly, she connected the dots. "Wait a second... Persephone told me of this place before... and of the monsters locked away in it... as well as the instrument used to unseal them... You want me, to grasp this thing for you.. a mask, if I recall correctly, and bring out several monsters that even demonkind fears? Several monster that would make Yuuka Kazami wet herself in fear?" Yukari asked, suddenly finding herself no longer tired. She could hardly contain the grin on her face. This was just too good to be true. During those years she had been getting Persephone's trust and turning her into what she wanted, the young lady had told her the stories that her own mother had told her. Stories... of Death... stories of Decay... and stories of Destruction. It was just so glorious... and she could USE those monsters against Yuuka... "And what a nice compliment you have me. Few realize I'm not as old as they deem me... "

His smile became a grin. "So you have heard the stories? Of the three unspeakable entities that reside inside Azorg'thu? Yes... they are to demonkind as demons are to mortals. Neither wraiths, nor demons, nor spirits or gods... instead something much worse."
"You're a smart girl. You know that in order to free these beings we need the mask of Azorg'thu. The magic binding them to their prison will prevent them from reaching true freedom. Instead they will be bound in servitude to the one that summons them, forced to obey their new master. Unfortunately, the Mask of Azorg'thu has a habit of warping through time, space, and even dimensions anytime between 2 or 48 hours. The only way to normally obtain it is through sheer chance. That's why I need your help, Yukari."

"So I have been told by Persephone." Yukari said, liking this the more she thought about it... until she reached another realization. This time, she frowned, and groaned. "Well.. this is going to be problematic. Seeing as I have never come across this mask before, nor have any idea where to start looking for it, I cannot just reach into a gap and yank it out for you.. But I do know of someone who knows how to obtain it with ease... the person who helped seal them away in the firstplace... I might just have to pay them a visit... and I will need you to come with me... we don't exactly see eye to eye." That was an understatement if there ever was one. The relationship she had with Persephone's mother could only be described as a goddamn battlefield, especially because of the influence Yukari had on Persephone. This was going to be rough, VERY rough... but it was the only way she knew how to get the mask. Otherwise, she could spend years scouring the cosmos looking for it... and she didn't want to do that.

"Then we have no time to lose," said Selstar, rising from his seat. He had come this far - he was so close to obtaining his prize he could practically smell it. There was no way he was going to lose hope now. "I suppose we better be off."
