(OOC: For now, this thread is between me and giratina93.)
The time had come for the dynamic duo to work together once more. Once unknown to the both of them, Auroros and Crigan had been forced together to fight off the evils of Crydmarr, an emotion given a physical form. From then on, their bond had been nearly inseparable, though Auroros' anger has been causing trouble recently. However, these petty things could not get in the way of their views of justice- both decided to pursue Selstar in an effort to thwart the Maluvor before they could grow in power.
"We should be getting close," The blind seer said to Crigan. "I can sense that coward's Aura from here..."

Beside him, Crigan nodded. "They are close, both Selstar and Yukari. All we need to do is kill Selstar, and the Maluvor will go back into their prison. And I don't sense them anywhere near Sel-"
he stopped. There was something he was sensing... a soul in pain, a soul damaged, similar to Auroros's but in a way... different. As a Death God, he was attuned to the souls of the dying and dead, and this one was horribly scarred already. "Do you sense that? There is a damaged soul nearby... most likely the work of the Maluvor..." He was wondering wherever or not to to and save it, or to stop Selstar... it was a dilemma. This was their best shot... but the soul, he couldn't just let it be tortured and destroyed...

Auroros turned his head, confused. "What are you talking abo-"
Suddenly, the unexpected happened- it was like a thousand suns exploded within Auroros' body as once! His whole body became overwhelmed with a dark pain- like a devil from below had infiltrated his body and was assaulting him from within! The Pristine avian collapsed to the floor, holding himself up with his wings, before he vomited from the pain. Suddenly, he fell to the floor in a heap, and began to violently seize up, his entire form vibrating uncontrollably in pain. His white eyes could visibly became bloodshot, and parts of his body became black, as if something was dying within him....

"AUROROS!" Crigan gasped as he flew down and caught his friend's body in his hands. He hoisted the bird over his shoulder, and as he did, several Anti-Matter loops extended from his body around the sticken being of light. That way, he would not slip and fall. What... what had happened to him? "What is wrong? What is happening to you?" Crigan asked, confused and horrified. He had never seen anything like this before... this was alien to him... unless... He connected the dots. Most likely, this was connected tot hat very soul in pain. That soul and Auroros's were most likely tied to one another, meaning damage to one, meant pain to the other. "Please hang in there... I don't want to loose another ally. I have lost far too many already."

Auroros could not hear Crigan... he could only feel pain. Darkness was overtaking his mind, piercing his soul. Even with the strength of Emmanuel within him, he could not fight the pain. Auroros realized there was only one thing that had this power- the power of necrosis! A powerful wielder of black magic was within here, attacking his spirit somehow... but form where?
Suddenly, it dawned on him.
"MY... M-MY... MY EMISSARY!" Auroros howled in pain, his pain uncontrollable...

As soon as he said that, Crigan understood, and at the same time, it sent shivers down his spine. If his emissary had been attacked... did that mean the Maluvor, or whoever it was that was behind this was deliberately attacking them, or had the Emissary merely been a coincidental victim? Either way, he had to help her... but with Auroros in this state... could he help him?
"Are you going to be well enough to aid me in this situation, Auroros?" Crigan said. This was heard both physically, and in Auroros's mind. "I will leave you in a safe place to heal, while I go and save your emissary if you cannot help. I do not wish to endanger your own life in this..." Even as he said this, he was already homing in on the location... he couldn't afford to waste any time. Lives were at stake here.

But just as suddenly as the pain had come upon him, the pain had ceased. Auroros groaned audibly in pain, his breaths deep and raspy, and he quickly rose up on his own. He refused to admit his pain, but it was evident- his whole body was still aching form his soul's suffering. Auroros moaned as he turned his head in Crigan's direction.
"Don't take me... for one who is weak of body... and of soul," Auroros said, as he shivered his body, chuckling weakly as he did so. "I won't let this impede me... we must find my Emissary, and quickly. Someone has found her.... and has ill intentions... who knows when he will strike next..."

The shadowy tendrils that had Auroros latched onto Crigan's back were undone, and the great bird was slipped off gently onto the ground. " I am glad that you are not out. It is always better to have company to help, especially in these dark times." As he said that, his head twisted, as if looking off into space. "I think I might just know where she is." Crigan said. With that, he closed his eyes, and concentrated. So many souls were within the UCA, yet each was unique. As a Death God, he had the power to isolate and pinpoint whatever souls he so desired, even if they were across dimensions. Almost as soon as he concentrated, did he locate the Emissary... and the one who was torturing her. "They are this way." Crigan said, before spiraling through the air. Her soul was weakening... but if they were fast enough... they could stop this madness.

Auroros' face contorted into a vicious snarl. "Then let us go and find the perpetrator!" Auroros growled, clearly angered, even though he was in pain. The White bird was enraged- he had been attacked where he was weakest... and he wanted his revenge. Damn the Maluvor, there was hell to pay....

Looking back down at Auroros with a nod, Crigan flew off in the direction of the soul, with Auroros following behind him...
It wasn't long before they had arrived at their destination. It seemed to be just an ordinary Hub door, but within, Crigan could sense it, pure evil and darkness radiating out. As he landed, he was surprised to see that Diamen was also there, his son having just arrived as well. "Diamen? What are you-"
The man shook his head. "Not the time for questions, pops. No doubt, I'm here for the same reason as you... and while you told me to stay away from the Maluvor, I couldn't just let whoever's in there be harmed." he said, his voice in a whisper, to prevent those inside from hearing him... hopefully, they would have the advantage.

A fourth being was already on the scene, hidden deep within the dark folds of the Astral Plane. Zekshi, nothing but a black inky mist, weaved between their souls like a great snake. The cloud gave an unearthly hiss as he passed Auroros' as he sensed the pristine stench of Aether. Ranukada had attracted the attention of three others - far too much attention than he would have liked - and they were planning to attack. He'd have to persuade her into leaving her victim's body behind.
Yet at this distance, Zekshi noticed that something wasn't quite right. The aggressor behind the door indeed held traces of nether, but that was it. Traces. The Maluvor as a whole were entirely nethereal beings. Perhaps it wasn't Ranukada after all.
Zekshi's concern dulled, and was replaced by curiosity. The soul felt strangely familiar, but Zekshi had lived far to long to accurately remember every soul he had ever encountered. And yet, this one stirred a faith memory. Could it be? And if it really was, then this event could still benefit him. Had the cloud had a face, Zekshi would have smiled, as he swept through the door and into blackness.

"We'd best take as subtle a shape as possible and attempt an ambush," Auroros grumbled. "Barging in could cause us further trouble."
But that was when Auroros sensed it- a strong force of nether waft by like a breeze in the wind.
A Maluvor was nearby.... _________________________________________
Inside, Zekshi saw little of anything. The room was dark and dank, with chairs and tables scattered about. However, if Zekshi listened closely, he could hear a vaguely feminine voice from higher up the stairs.
"I knew you would find me eventually," a low voice said. Suddenly, a robed shape emerged from the shadows of the room, and appeared within Zekshi's own pocket dimension. "Welcome to my... humble abode.... Maluvor."

A shiver went down Crigan's spines. He could feel it as well, something NASTY moving around. He had never felt it before, but he knew what it was all the same. He tried to ignore it, but he could tell that Diamen also felt it, for the man had his fists tightened at that moment.
"I think I have an idea... You two wait on my signal. I'm going to sneak up on them from an angle they won't see coming."
"You mean..."
"Not the Distortion World, Diamen." Crigan whispered back to him... "But rather, the main portion of what it's attached to. Wish me luck, and when I give the signal, you help Auroros in, understand?"
"Wait, I don't think-"
It was too late. Already, Crigan had vanished from where they were. Already, his spirit was within the dark expanses of the Astral Realm...
and facing both Ommadon and Zekshi, which he was NOT expecting. This was ... "Fudge." He muttered under his breath...

A warm smile etched itself across Zekshi’s face. “I thought I recognized the presence of one of your kind. Forgive my haste, but it appears that you have…”
The Maluvor was interrupted as a certain tapeworm bust into the astral plane and through the door, nearly running right into the pair. He heard him quietly mutter a curse.
“… visitors,” he finished. His brows betrayed a brief a frown, and he shook his head in a condescending manner. “An injudicious move, Crigan. Facing the Maluvor on their own ground?” His eyes flickered to the soul of Diamen, visible along with Auroros’ through the door. “But then, your actions have been injudicious from the beginning. What parent would allow their child to be involved in all this?”
And as he spoke, tiny flakes of nether drifting in the astral plane flickered into the mortal one, invisible against the black backdrop. The very air inside the living quarters was being corrupted.
“And what brings you here, Crigan? What justifies risking the life of your child? What’s at stake? The well-being of a stranger that you’ve never met? The trust of an arrogant bird that already holds ill will against you for something you couldn’t control?” He gave an audible sigh. "Do you even value your son?"

"My, what a pleasant surprise," Ommadon chuckled, folding his arms across his back as he turned to face Crigan. "If it isn't the death god from before. What brings Crigan of hell here to the Astral plane?"
Ommadon chuckled. "It doesn't really matter, however. I must say, you made my original plans much easier than I anticipated." He looked out of the Astral plane to see Diamen and Auroros waiting for Crigan's cue. "I only expected that old bird to be drawn here to his death, thinking he could handle my thralls on his own. But not only have you isolated yourself from your friends to face both me and Zekshi, but you've brought your son and the Avatar of Emmanuel here as well! I can kill 3 birds with one fell swoop..." Ommadon laughed now, his voice raspy and hoarse. "I must say, you've been more helpful than my best thralls have! I should add your soul to my collection... but perhaps once we're finished here."
Suddenly, Ommadon snapped his fingers, as bluish energy began to gather in the hub... ________________________________________________________________________________
Auroros and Diamen were quickly surrounded by bluish energy, when suddenly, from the floors of the hub, and army of spirits surrounded them, innumerable in their numbers!
"It's an ambush!" Auroros snarled as the spirits descended upon them to attack....
