Name: Dar Felinus (AKA Darwin)
Height: 6'3'' (5'9'' in human form)
Mass: 211 lbs
Age: 1,900 (although he looks to be in his early to mid-40s)
Description: Like Fainis, the cruel queen that he usurped, Dar is an Outer Worlder and, in his true form, a demonic humanoid creature. (True in appearance only. At his true stature, Dar could stare kaiju in the eyes.) Though he often hides his body behind a large black cloak, Dar is a red-hued creature with four clawed arms and large legs shaped more like those of a dog than a human. Three bony spikes adorn each knee- one large spike in the center that curves upward and two smaller secondary spikes than face down. A long, heavy tail tipped by a serrated arrowhead flows out from behind Dar and his mouth is filled with sharp, triangular teeth. His gaunt, creased face is framed by thick greasy black hair that struggles to hide an irregular trio of horns that rise from his skull like thorns. The unblinking eyes of the demon are unnaturally dark in color. Underneath his cape, the (relatively) young Outer Worlder is covered by all manners of arcane symbols and unholy marks.
In the human guise that Dar often takes on in order to blend in or change things up, the Outer World sorcerer appears to be a tall, slender middle aged man in a trim black suit, white shoes, and blood red tie. His wild mane of hair, onyx eyes, and tattooed body remain the same though. While he does look strange because of this, he still comes across as perfectly human to all those except other powerfully magic creatures or bestial beings with strong senses of smell. He insists on being called “Darwin” while in this form for the sole reason that it amused him.
Personality: Dar, though a dictator and a warrior, is a perfectly friendly individual who loves nothing more than to sit down and chat with the fascinating people that he comes across. Polite and witty, he is a fine conversationalists and could talk for hours with someone who intrigues him or even about himself, although he hates to think of himself as a braggart in this regard. He merely loves the spoken word and knows himself well, thus reasoning: what better to talk about than what you know best? Dar can be best defined by the two most dangerous traits in all the known world- ambition and curiosity. He wants to know everything there is to know in the universe and controls his slice of it as a means to attain this ultimate knowledge. While the Outer World only raided other dimensions for food and raw materials under the rule of Fainis, they now plunder knowledge as well. While not as savage or bloodthirsty as other Outer Worlders, he is an extremely cunning and skilled warrior with mastery over both melee and magical arts and will not hesitate to use these abilities to defend himself or achieve his goals. His greatest asset is his charm. By winning over the hearts and minds of the otherwise warlike Outer World people, he successfully overwhelmed and overthrew the brutal regime of Fainis and took the throne for himself, ruling through a series of representatives and councils that disguise his tyranny as democracy. Dar is not cruel or unfair with his power though. He genuinely wants to see the Outer World become a better place, although his personal goal of feeding his hungry mind and soul with knowledge takes precedence over any other sort of progress.
History: Born in the year 124 to a record keeper and a warrior, Dar was trained to be cunning and decisive from birth by both his parents and his merciless surroundings. The world ruled by Fainis was a savage and bloody land where murder and thief was lawful and power was the only rule that the people adhered to. The strong ruled over the weak and the powerless were left behind to die- that was the way things worked. But Dar, a relatively small, fragile demon, found a way around this unspoken law though. By relying on his intellect and charm rather than his might, he made allies who respected and were fond of him rather than fearful. Rising fast in the ranks, he was noticed by Fainis, the queen of the Outer World herself, and made her adviser because his magic and fast talk amused her.
She had handpicked her own doom though, because, when the Outer World became anchored to Earth H-945 in 780, it was Dar who lead the rebellion against her. It took many years and a heavy barrier of secrecy for him to break through the deep set fear that the Mother of All Murders had instilled in her subjects without being found out and dealt with, but he eventually succeeded and the flood gates of outrage opened. Angry that their queen's careless back and forth travel had trapped their world beneath another, the Outer Worlders banished Fainis to the very realm she had wedged them under and formed a new government, one that Dar ruled in secret. Allowing his people to think that they were being fairly represented, Dar used magic and technology, two subjects neglected under Fainis, to bridge the space between worlds and resume the interdimensional raids that supported the Outer World.
Eventually these methods began to fail and Dar was forced to bring an invasion force to Earth to try and physically detach their world from ours, but he was thwarted by the surprisingly resilient people of Earth H-945 and the monsters that dwelt there, so Dar too was cast out of the Outer World. Now that he is a similarly disgraced monarch, Dar has decided to track his former queen down and see if he can at least enjoy his time in exile. He always thought that Fainis was a lovely, if crude, beast and hopes that her time off of the throne has made her more reasonable. If not, then there is always the option of funning her for all that it is worth.
Either way, Dar will be entertained.
Living Quarters: The living space of the intelligent Outer Worlder is a massive, multistory library filled with classical literature ranging from Shakespeare to Franklin as well as modern books on psychics, engineering, psychology, and medicine. Further inspection will unveil cleverly hidden caches of tomes of arcane knowledge, scrolls on wartime strategy, and a large collection of romantic fiction (one of his guilty pleasures from Earth).
In the center of the library's second floor is a large, well organized desk similar to what might belong to a corporate executive or dean. Daseiwr, the legendary sword of Satan, the first king of the Outer World, is mounted on the wall behind this elegant work place. The blade would usually be on Dar's person, but he has elected to adhered to the UCA rules about carrying weapons and cast a spell on it that prevents it from being removed, even by his hands.
Monsters and characters associated with: Dar has a long, bitter history with Fainis, though one couldn't tell by his mannerisms towards her. He treats the chimeric hound- once his queen- like an old friend. Fainis would like nothing more than to crush him underfoot, but she now knows better than to underestimate him. Besides actually being a sixty-two-meter giant in disguise, he is also a master of trickery, charm, and alliance. Fainis once lost a war and her throne to him. She does not plan to risk repeating that again- even if she would like to slit his throat the moment he isn't looking. Dar is also familiar with Kedos and vice versa. Once a simple adviser to Fainis when she was ruler of the Outer World, he occasional accompanied her to Earth and used the time to study the native draconic people.
