The Sub-Titan collapsed, clutching feebly at its open jugular. The downed beast was floundering about in the dust, staining the island crimson. A constant flow of blood was making its way out of the ugly wound, the mole-like giant's very life seeping out with it. Taninim snorted as he stood above the dying mammal.
It was over.
Placing a heavy foot on the Sub-Titan's skull, Taninim grimly prepared to end both the battle and the mammal's already fading life. As it felt the pressure on its cranium, the Sub-Titan realized the next few seconds would decide its fate. It had to act now or die. A jolt of adrenaline- indescribably huge and powerful- exploded into the muscular beast's body. Just as Taninim prepared to apply the lethal pressure, the Sub-Titan's paw shot up and grabbed his ankle! With a sharp tug, Taninim was pulled off his feet. As the fish mutation fell, the Sub-Titan rose. Still grasping Taninim's ankle, the mighty mammal shifted all its weight on one foot and heaved the heroic monster into the air. Swinging Taninim's struggling form over his head, the Sub-Titan brought the bioluminescent warrior down, face-first, on the other side of him.
WHUMP!
A loud, wet crack rang out, blood splattering the ground. Taninim groaned, the pained sound gurgled by blood welling in his throat. Hoisting the mutant's leg high into the air, the Sub-Titan stabbed its blunt, knife-like claws into Taninim's flesh! The aquatic beast roared in pain, spine arching as its bellows shook the sky. Hissing, the Sub-Titan dragged its claws inward, slicing open Taninim's calf with a gush of warm blood. The fish monster's screams increased in volume and pitch, become wails of agony.
Pulling its claws from Taninim's flesh, the Sub-Titan made to o the same to the other leg. But the amphibious giant lashed out! A powerful kick caught the Sub-Titan square in the gut, winding the great mammal and hacking at his flesh with sharp talons. Blood drizzled to the ground. Regaining its breath in a few strained heaves, the Sub-Titan snarled in anger. Grabbing Taninim's other ankle, the rodent-like beast pulled the fish mutant from the ground. Wheeling around over and over and over, the Sub-Titan swung Taninim around in a great circle, blood speckling the surrounding palms trees. Finally, the mammal let go.
Taninim was sent soaring, limbs and tail flailing uselessly, as if the humanoid fish though he could somehow fly. But, alas, he couldn't. Instead, Taninim took a brutal nosedive into the pit he had damaged earlier.
CRASH!
Dirt and rubble burst upward, a dust cloud billowing from the great hole. Trotting to the edge of the pit, the Sub-Titan wrinkled its muzzle in dissatisfaction. Taninim was still moving, trying to squirm from the mound of debris he was buried in. Growling, the massive mole went to work. The Sub-Titan's claws tore up the soil, the mammal obviously looking for something. The Sub-Titan's claws struck something hard. Snout pulling into a grimace of effort, the furry beast ripped a vast boulder from the ground. Muscles bunching and tearing, the Sub-Titan hurled the gigantic rock into the air. The boulder tumbled across the tropical skyline, making a gentle- but deadly- arc towards Taninim...

Taninim's maw opened as wide as they could as a brilliant beam of ion energy launched out! As the boulder rapidly approached, the beam smashed full-force into the giant rock! The energy surged through the object, engulfing it in an explosion before the boulder blew in half! As the two chunks fell to the ground, Taninim collapsed to a knee. He looked at the edge of the pit, but the Sub-Titan was gone again!
For a brief moment, the creature remained still, breathing deeply to clear his head and attempt to forget about the pain. As he did this, he closed his eyes and maw, allowing strands of bloody drool to fall from his dagger-like fangs. The hero remained in this stance for what seemed like an eternity, but it would prove a mistake.
For the lethal mole had burrowed behind him again!
Parting the ground as if water, the mammal crawled forth. In a heartbeat, it leaped through the air, claws and fangs bared! The creature landed hard on Taninim's back, dragging his claws down the green, scaly flesh. Taninim's eyes bolted open and a painful wail escaped his maw as he tried to stance with Sub-Titan holding onto his back like a frenzied cat!
Moving his head from side to side, Taninim avoided its lethal jaws as he tried to reach back. After several failed attempts, Taninim brought his lengthy tail up, smashing it hard into Sub-Titan's back! The mole released an "ooph" sounding noise before the tail came up again, bludgeoning his spine! The mole, however, refused to relent and dug his claws in deeper, drawing more blood and making Taninim snarl in rage.
In a last ditch effort, Taninim leaped into the air and came down... on his back! Sub-Titan bellowed loudly, but that bellow turned into a screech as Taninim's weight sandwiched the mole between the ground and his body! The fish kaiju snarled as he rolled off, rubbing his wounded back as crimson waves flowed from the deep, penetrating wounds. The creature's ruthless eyes watched on as the mammal began to recover already...
Before it could fully recover, Taninim's foot came down on the side of its head, specifically its right ear. The mammal screamed in absolute pain as talon-like claws carved up the burnt flesh. As a spray of red gore washed over Taninim's ankle, Taninim dragged his foot downward, cutting a deep gash from the ear to the snout before dragging the foot up again, only to repeat the process.
The Sub-Titan screamed in agony as his blood was sprayed across Taninim's leg. After the fourth gorge, Taninim dropped down to all fours, maws opened wide. As the squirming mammal lashed out with pain and rage, Taninim's mighty jaws wrapped around his wounded throat! Multitudes of dagger-like, irregular teeth burrowed into the ruined, burnt flesh! A wave of blood flowed into Taninim's gaping maw and the mutation drank it up as if a vampire!
The super hero snarled in rage as he tore off a huge chunk of mole flesh, dropping it down to the ground before thrusting his snout into the wound and biting down, trying to tear out more of the mole's throat!

An enormous amount of adrenaline still roaring through its veins, the Sub-Titan acted swiftly to prevent even more damage to its open throat. Thrusting its great claws out, the great mammal tried to block Taninim's gaping jaws. But instead, the defensive motion put the titanic mole 's paw too close to the deadly maw.
The fish mutation bit down.
The Sub-Titan screamed in pain as long, crooked fangs sunk deep into its flesh. Thin streams of blood ran from between Taninim's teeth as he chomped down, flesh giving way with a horrible crunching. Hurt and enraged, the Sub-Titan lashed out and smashed a closed fist into the aquatic warrior's face! Taninim grunted and winced, but refused to relinquish its fanged grip. Hissing, the Sub-Titan began pounding in the tenacious giant's face, heavy paw coming down again and again. Blood splattered both mammal and fish, the brutal beating sprinkling the ground in crimson essence. Finally, face bloody and deformed, Taninim relented.
With a gurgled moan, the mutant released the Sub-Titan's paw and stumbled back, vision bashed out of focus.
The Sub-Titan snarled at the dizzied hero. Pressing its wounded paw protectively into its pelt, the mammalian leviathan charged! As Taninim regained his senses, the Sub-Titan slashed at his stomach. Sturdy claws ripped through thick flesh, blood pouring from the gory furrows left behind. Taninim cried out in pain and alarm as his gut was laid open by the vicious swipe. Splattering the landscape red with a flick of its wrist, the Sub-Titan hissed in satisfaction.
Then the berserk beast lunged again.
The Sib-Titan's already bloodied paw plunged into Taninim's open stomach! The heroic giant wailed in agony as his soft insides were shredded. Wrinkling his snout in a grimace, the Sub-Titan clenched its claws, tearing at vulnerable innards and earning a second pained howl. Then, the enraged mammal twisted its paw around, claws destroying blood vessels, easily cutting through delicate tissues, and grazing vital organs. Taninim's jaws were slathering with blood as he desperately clawed at the Sub-Titan's arm.
With a clean jerk, the rodent-like beast pulled its claws from Taninim's gut with a small geyser of hot blood and diced flesh.
Taninim fell to his knees, arms wrapping around his gored midriff. The Sub-Titan hissed savagely, paw drenched in blood and strips of tissue clinging to its claws. Sucking in a huge breath, the gigantic mammal prepared to split the air with another sonic scream...

The super-loud scream penetrated the air and tore into Taninim's ears, making the wounded hero snarl in total pain. He clenched his eyes shut and bit down, trying to fight through the unbearable pain. As the sound continued and more blood began to fall from each of Taninim's ears, the fish brought his arms to his head, crushing his skull between them as he tried to block out the noise.
But it was no use.
The mole held its ground with maw wide open, screaming over and over again. For almost a minute Taninim fought against the pain until he began to give in. As his eyes began to roll, ion energy began to surge through his body. As blood seeped through his tight fingers, the monster leaned back, his jaws opening as a glowing orb of energy lifted into the air. Two more followed, and each one began to rapidly expand!
The Sub-Titan ignored the glowing objects as Taninim collapsed forward again, roaring in pain. However, a bright flash from above caught its attention. Before the mammal could look up, the ground around the beast was covered in a blanket of explosions. Dozens upon dozens of missile-like blasts!
The amphibian looked forward, snarling as the ion bubbles continued to rain hell down upon the titan. The mole's screams of agony replaced its sonic scream as pieces of flesh were launched from its entire body!
Shaking his head, Taninim stood up, ears ringing. The monster continued to shake his head as he wobbled from side to side, the pain making him dizzy. By now, the final blasts of the assault had stopped, but the ground was now cratered by dozens of impacts and the Sub-Titan was on its side, every square inch of its body covered in bloody wounds! It looked as if a raw piece of bloody meat!
But a sign of life came from the mammal as it twitched. Taninim saw this and groaned, growing tired of this grueling match. Before it could stand up, Taninim limped over, planting a foot on the side of its gory snout. As it whimpers, Taninim's maw unleashed another searing beam of energy... right into its own ear once more! If Taninim would be deaf for now on, he'd make sure his foe would be also!
The beam smashed hard, making the beast scream again as the energy tore into its exposed ear and detonated inside! As smoke and fire lifted up from the impact, Taninim stumbled back, breathing sharply as he collapsed to a knee...

The Sub-Titan gasped in agony, pain pulsating through his body in constant waves. Flesh shredded, blood drenching the ground, and barely clinging to life, it was a horrible sight, like a animated corpse. Most creatures would have perished long ago. Even some other kaiju would have fallen already. But not the Sub-Titan. It was not the strongest giant in the world. Far from it, it was nothing more than an over-sized animal. It had no beams or regeneration. All it had were its own claws and teeth. But those weren't its most dangerous features. No, the most deadly aspect of the great mammal was no weapon. It wasn't even tangible.
It was the beast's will to survive.
Even down and dying, the Sub-Titan still felt the need to fight, the need to survive. And it would do so by any means necessary...
With the very last of his strength, the berserk mole threw himself at Taninim!
The kneeling warrior was not expecting a retaliated, so he was caught off guard. The Sub-Titan slammed into him, tackling him to the ground. With a vicious snarl, the rodent-like gargantua lashed out with both heavily clawed paws! One set of claws disappeared into Taninim's jaws as the fish mutant cried out. The soft tissues of his throat torn and ravaged, the bioluminescent hero could only try to avoid chocking on his own blood. The others set of dagger-like claws stabbed into Taninim's face, punching through his cheek. With a hiss of pure fury, the mammalian behemoth clenched its claws and ripped Taninim's pierced cheek asunder, leaving a sizable sheet of gore in his fist. The benevolent mutant went into spasm of agony, eyes widened to a shocking size in his alarm. In an act of pure desperation, Taninim loosed a quick blast of ion energy. The particle beam engulfed the Sub-Titan's face, earning a squeal from the beast and forcing it back.
As the Sub-Titan pawed at its burnt face, Taninim rose to his feet, hands wrapped around his bloody mouth. Crimson waterfalls fell from the fish mutant's gaping maw, soaking the soil. Both giants were bad shape. The battle would be decided soon, so it was vital to let no chance be ignored.
The Sub-Titan was well aware of this.
Wrenching his paws from his seared face, the muscular beast rushed at Taninim. With a powerful screech, the bloodied mammal slammed its fist into Taninim's open gut. The devastating blow sent a shockwave into the fish monster's chest cavity, bludgeoning his already damaged innards. His organs pounded by the full force of the Sub-Titan's massive strength, Taninim was pushed back, nearly toppling.
But the Sub-Titan was far from done.
Lunging, the mammal clamped its jaws down on Taninim's neck. Shaking its head like a rabid dog, the burrowing giant tore at the aquatic monster's flesh. Taninim thrashed about, fist beating his attacker's chest with a power only granted to those in dire danger. But the Sub-Titan endured the blow and continued lacerating the mutated fish's warty skin, yellowed fangs now red. With one final tug, the Sub-Titan separated a good chunk of skin and flesh from Taninim. As if unwiling to give up a piece of his own body, a steaming gush of the heroic kaiju's blood followed. But the arc of life essence couldn't quite reach the Sub-Titan- with Taninim's flesh still hanging from its jaws- and instead fell to the ground, staining the ground black.
Taninim stumbled, in shock from the sudden blood loss. Letting the bite he took out of the fish-like warrior drop to the ground, the Sub-Titan pounced again. The great mammal struck its foe heavily in the chest and easily downed the hero. Pinning the stunned Taninim under its bulk, the vast mole let an age-old instinct take over in one last attempt to push the battle in its favor.
The instinct to dig.
That's right, the Sub-Titan was planning to burrow into Taninim's chest, claws already stretching towards the trapped giant's body...

The mole's sounds of victory rang loudly as its deadly claws began to tear into the flesh of Taninim! Slash after slash, the mole burrowed into his foe's chest. As a spray of gore washed over the titan's face more again, Taninim's maw opened wide and a blistering beam of ion rage was cast forth once again! The beam struck the mole's forehead, engulfing it in fire and making the mammal fall away, crashing to the ground as its gory paws patted out the flame.
Covering his wounded chest with the palm of his hand, Taninim pushed himself to a stance and coughed blood. The hero snarled in rage as he watched his opponent recover. As it rolled onto its feet, the amphibian leaped into the air and came down on its back, sitting down on its back as if a bronco. The mole began to thrash, but Taninim pushed down, forcing its chest and stomach to the Earth.
Gripping the sides of its head, Taninim lifted its broken head and slammed it down with all of his strength! A cracking boom came from the head of the mole as its snout and teeth were bashed off the unforgiving ground. Chips of teeth began to fly away as Taninim continued to hammer the Earth with his foe's head! As a pool of blood formed from new and old wounds, Taninim lifted his head high into the air again.
Holding his victim's skull still, Taninim's maw opened wide once more! A brilliant glow came from his throat as he channeled more energy into his mouth. The mole began to squeal, but it was futile. Another beam was fired point blank into its head! As Taninim removed his hands from its side, a ball of fire rose up, followed by chunks of flesh raining onto both their bodies.
The mole collapsed, breathing sharply as blood continued to fountain from countless wounds with every heart beat. Taninim was winded and fell off its back, groaning as his body was beaten just as bad. With rivers of blood forming between them, both kaiju began to stir...

"ATTENTION! This match has concluded. The winner is...TANIMIN!"
The reason being that, while both opponents could really dish it out in melee, and the Sub-Titan really gave the hero fish a run for his money in melee, Tanimin just had some superior firepower to back him up. In the end, it was enough to tip the balance in his favor.
"This match has been concluded. Return to your quarters immediately!"

(Awesome match. Not surprised to see you win.)
The Sub-Titan couldn't understand the words being broadcast across the island, but he could understand what they offered-
Retreat. And survival.
Because of its sensitive eyes, the great mole couldn't be expected to enter the beam of light that would take it to its regeneration tank. So instead, the same dulled teleportation energy that had brought it here homed in on it and engulfed the Sub-Titan. With an electronic hum, the broken mammal was whisked away. Just before it disappeared, the rodent-like giant bowed its head to Taninim. To any animal behaviorist, this motion would be taken as a admittance of defeat. But to the everyday person, it almost looked like a sign of respect.
But that was absurd of course. After all, the Sub-Titan was no more than an over-sized animal.
***
The Sub-Titan suddenly found itself in the comforting dark of his quarters. It was in a huge, metal tank. This made the mole nervous. He didn't like being separated from the earth he called home. But, as the green, healing liquid showered down on him from the sprayers above, the Sub-Titan forgot all about his worries and drifted into sleep...

(OOC: Yes, VERY awesome match. Would LOVE to have a re-match... or maybe even a team up... later on.)
Every square inch of Taninim's body hurt. His green hide was completely covered in ed gore, but he survived. And more importantly, he won! The hero crawled to a stance, blood dripping from his maw. He looked up as a beam of light came down on him. The mutation closed his eyes, drifting into sleep as he was transported to the pods for healing...
