It was dark times, to be certain. It was as if the entire world had come crashing down all around them. What had they done to deserve such an uproar of villainy? Not only had the Maluvor been reawoken through the idiocy of two equally foolish beings, but a new threat, hiding behind a veil of secrecy, had now cropped up in the UCA. Add in some spectres from his "ally" Crigan's past, and things were quickly spiraling out of control. Auroros was full of emotions he was not used to- hatred, rage, disgust. His Emissary was in critical condition- he has requested for Emmanuel to pull her out of the UCA until she was fully recovered. Auroros wanted revenge, he wanted a way to kill the son of a bitch who had done this... he wanted to Maluvor destroyed, and for Selstar to suffer for his actions. Yet, Auroros felt that there was no one strong enough to do the job. Certainly not Crigsn... Quetzar was too busy, same with Talizan.... Behemoth's rage was too great, and Ziz's passion too strong... and Kori was too forgiving to fulfill the job.
Auroros hung his head low. It was time he made a vow to himself. A vow to better this world. But suddenly, his train of thought was disrupted when Kori burst into the hub behind him.
"Auroros!" The ice dragon shouted, his four massive paws striking the hub floor, claws scraping against the metallic surface. Auroros turned to face the frosty beat, empty eyes taking no heed to his presence. "I've heard most dreadful news, champion of justice. A foul scent falls upon the UCA once more!"
"I realize this, brother," Auroros replied flatly, his gaze not turning to face his ally. "A dark force known as the Maluvor have arrived within the UCA."
"Maluvor?" Kori inquired, approaching the god-bird with apprehension. "Who are these 'Maluvor' you speak of?"
"They are an evil rivaled by few within the omniverse," Auroros replied, unfurling his wings briefly before folding them against his sides once more. "They are seldom awakened, but when they are, they cause wanton destruction if left unchecked. A fool has brought them here in the hopes of controlling them... little does he know of the evil he has awoken."
"Why would he do such a thing? Fool," Kori growled under his breath. "Perhaps we can stop him before he manages to cause any harm."
"It is far too late for that, I fear," Auroros hissed, turning his face to face the scarred visage of his ally. "Selstar plans to use these immortal beasts to his own ends, and cannot be convinced out of it. I tried."
"So it appears slaying him is our only solution," Kori said with a hint of sorrow. There HAD to be another way to do this....
"Yes," Auroros spat. "I shall focus all my energies onto Selstar. He cannot be allowed to live any longer. With every breath he takes, we come closer to utter annihilation. Purging him, and the other evils who lay within this abyss will prevent any further harm from occurring..."
"Are you even listening to yourself?" Kori stated, shocked. "Don't you know who you sound like?"
"Indeed, I do, Kori," Auroros hissed. "But in order to see peace is restored, sometimes desperate measures must be taken. I'll do whatever it takes to see to it that the Maluvor are destroyed and the abominations that lurk within these very halls are purged."
"Just stop and think about this, Auroros," Kori stated, icy eyes narrowed and locked firmly upon Auroros' face. "You're planning to kill EVERY enemy of the peace? Does that not mean that the very heroes you've battled alongside are your enemy? We destroyed the peace of the UCA before the Great Beast awoke and threatened to consume our very existence..."
"That is why I must fight now, Kori!" Auroros roared. "I cannot allow another Orsa incident to happen. We narrowly avoided the beast's jaws before; we may not be so lucky this time. The Maluvor can think, can strategize; that was our advantage over The Beast. Here, we are outclassed and outmanned should they gather their strength. Now stand with me, or step aside!"
Auroros then shot past a distraught Kori, who watched his friend disappear from sight in a flash of light. This was more serious that he thought...
