Ferrum Extremus (aka Destructor Mk. III)

Description: Being the final member of the Destructor line, and as such the most advanced prototype, Ferrum Extremus is far more advanced than his contemporary, the powerful but imperfect Destructor Mk. I. A deviation from the earlier, bulky models of Mark I and Mark II’s design, Mark III’s design is based around excellent defenses coupled with excellent offenses. Similar to the earlier destructor designs, the mech has long forearms and no discernible head. However, this is where the similarities end. A large dome-like structure sits in between its shoulders, where the machine’s single red optic resides. The dome can rotate 300 degrees in any direction, giving it superior vision range to the earlier prototypes, and has long, theropod-like legs, giving it unrivaled mobility. On its back are twin jet turbines, allowing it to fly at speeds surpassing Mach 5, and a broad torso that slims down as it approaches the pelvic region. Attached to its forearms are two massive chain guns, which fire rounds the size of a hummer towards kaiju at a rate of 5000 rounds per minute. In addition, it can withdraw these guns into its forearms in exchange for a large shield that can deflect nearly any projectile. Unlike its earlier cousins, this mech has standard hands in the form of 3 wicked, hook-like claws, which can be pulled into its forearm in exchange for a flamethrower, cryogenic cannon, a Taser, or a drill.
Personality: Ferrum Extremus is no more than a simple mech, similar in style and tactics as Ferrum- destructive but always loyal to his mission.

History: The final member in the line of Destructors, Ferrum Extremus – as the mech is known- is the first of the Destructor Mark IIIs- unique battle mechs that, unlike the current war machines of the Sheekhs army, the Mark II Destructors, are fast, strong, and well-defended. Rather than relying on incredible bulk to sponge hits and hitting hard back, the purpose of this mech’s line is to avoid damage and strike hard with powerful weaponry. It has been shipped to the UCA to test its combat capabilities, much like its technically inferior cousin.
Attacks:
- Mark XXVII Tartarus Hellcannon: Ferrum Extremus is outfitted with twin miniguns on its forearms. These guns fire rounds roughly the size of a hummer at kaiju at a rate of 5000 rounds per minute. The tips are hollow and are meant to fragment once they pierce through the kaiju’s hide, inflicting nasty internal damage.
- Mark III Optical Heat Beam: Extremus can fire a single red beam from its eye. The beam can carve its way into armor with its extreme heat.
- Interchangable hands: Ferrum Extremus can change his grasping claws into a variety of different weapons:
- Mark VII Hades Firegun: shoots out flames that burn at roughly 3,000 degrees celcius
- Mark II Cryogenic cannon: fires out a stream of liquid nitrogen, easily freezing and immobilizing any target, bar those immune to the cold or extremely hot.
- Mark XIII War Baton: An electrified club that can be used as a deadly blunt instrument. In addition, it is charged with 3,000,000 volts of electricity, which can be used to temporarily stun kaiju not resilient to electricity. Also very dangerous to most mechs.
- Mark II Giga Drill: A powerful drill made out of top-secret alloys. The drill can pierce nearly all armor due to its sharp tip and fast rotation speed.
- Hydraulic Kick: Unlike the earlier Ferrum Magnus, Extremus' legs have powerful hydraulic presses in them, and are long enough to deliver vicious, precise kicks with them. The kicks can easily floor a kaiju larger than it, and can send smaller kaiju tumbling backwards with its force.
- Mark II Kerberos Shoulder Cannons: Unlike Ferrum Magnus, Extremus' shoulder cannons are hidden within his shoulders and back. When needed, they will pop out, and can fire a volley of 24 missiles, 12 from each silo. Each missile is tipped with an anti-material head, allowing it to punch through all but the toughest of armors and detonate internally to inflict maximum damage.
- Mark III Olympus Breaker Cannon: Opening up its chest, Ferrum Extremus can unleash a powerful heat beam from its chest, easily decimating and vaporizing thigns in its path. Kaiju would be inflicted with horrible burns from a strike. Limited 2 uses.
Powers:
- Mach 5 Flight: Ferrum Extremus is an extremely skilled flier, and can fly at mach 5. He has surprising maneuverability in the air, thanks to special fins on his jet turbines.
- Mark II Destructor Legs: Basically, these are Ferrum Magnus’ hydraulic legs but better. In addition to allowing him to jump incredible heights, it also gives it incredible land speed and powerful kicks with its legs.
- Mark II Breaker Armor: Upgraded from the earlier Destructor models, this is both lightweight and sturdy. It is capable of withstanding extreme heat and cold, and is highly resilient to both explosive and concussive damage.
- Maark II Breaker Shield: Much like Ferrum Magnus’ shield, this shield can be used to protect the mech from nearly any beam attack and powerful physical blows, but it must withdraw its hands into its arm in order to do this.
Weaknesses: Despite being overall superior to Ferrum Magnus, Destructor Mark III still suffers from a few issues. Primarily, its much less rigid structure means that some parts of its body lack the powerful breaker armor, meaning its joints are much more vulnerable than the earlier models. In addition, its advanced circuitry makes it extremely weak to high currents and water damage.
