Name: Mara
Alias: N/A
Height: 5ft 10
Weight: *Bolt of lightning strikes the scale*
Description: An average heighted woman with long blonde hair, and faded red markings on her face in the form of triangles. She wears a simple blue short and short jeans that are ripped at the sides, as well as a pair of worn out sandals on her feet. Her eyes are dark red in color, and a pair of small fangs are visible, even when she has her mouth closed, as they protrude past her lip.
Personality/History: Mara's life has been one filled with ups and downs, and has been a roller coaster few wifes would dare want to be subjected to. She was the only daughter of the chief of her tribe, a nomadic people that lived in the ashes of a once great civilization. As one of the only children around in her tribe, it was her job to be the maintainer of the shrine of the Goddess of the Land, Lavidana. Her life was relativly simple: Keep the shrine clean, keep it on her at all times as the tribe moved, and listen to her elders. As a timid, placid girl, she found few friends on the human side of things. But when the tribe situated itself near a large river, she found herself making friends with a giant mermaid named Charybdis, the self proclaimed "God of the Waters". The two enjoyed each other's presence, a sort of friendship that lasted even after they left for the desert. Charybdis followed her, seeing how lonely the girl was for a friend, while taking on a human guise to be with her new pal.
The days of a nomadic lifestyle ended when one night, Mara was awoken from sleep by seeing the entire sky light afire. She dashed out of the cave they were living in, and saw a man that looked to be her age crash into the very earth, burnt and near death. The entire tribe, horrified by what had happened, prayed to the Goddess of the Land to save the poor man's life, and the goddess responded, though the people were unaware that the man himself was a god, the Death Deity Ragnok, now known as Crigan. Upon seeing the recovered form of the human-formed Crigan, Mara felt herself fall for him, and he her. So, with the consent of both the Goddess of the Land, and Mara's father, the two were married, and as an extra blessing from Lavidana, the land was restored from a dry wasteland to a thriving savannah.
Within a decade, a new kingdom had been built where the remains of the old one had been, and Crigan and Mara's marriage flourished. Gifted with children and grandchildren, both felt as though they had entered the happiest time of their lives. The friends from both parties, Lavidana and Charybdis, stopped by from time to time to check up and have some fun, but for the most part, Mara and her offspring were left in the dark as to Crigan's true identity. She was a perfect wife, loving and caring for her husband, while helping him with the domestic duties and in hunting. She was a kind, considerate woman, still rather timid, but now developing a far sterner backbone, and even some manipulative skills on the line, getting Crigan to do things for her sake without him realizing she was pulling his strings.
The fifty years of happiness and bliss came to a tragic end, when an old evil from Crigan's tormented past in Hell located him and his wife, and set phase 1 into action. A deadly fire overtook the house, and though no one was harmed, Crigan's eldest son and Mara witnessed Crigan's true form as he was forced to use it to save those trapped in the fire. Realizing that the man she so loved had lied about his identity, the aging Mara's trust in him began to crack, which was just what the Devil Queen Persephone so desired. when Crigan was away, she snuck in, and like the proverbial serpent in the garden, made Mara question the very man she so loved. That doubt was all that was needed for the evil spirit she implanted in the woman to take over, twisting the once loving and gentle woman into a sinister and malevolent nightmare, one who would torment Crigan's life for over three hundred years. family was lost, friends murdered, and the very kingdom he had helped create betrayed him and was razed to the ground due to the malevolent actions of Persephone and Mara.
And then, during their stay at the UCA, the unthinkable finally happened. After being persephone's lapdog for centuries, the evil spirit within the woman was struck down and subdued. The original concious, that of the timid scared woman, was allowed to retake control over her body. Horrified by the terrible actions she had caused, tormented from the abuse put on her by Tel during the Championship bout, and fearful of the dangers arriving at the UCA after the Orsa incident, she has resigned as a fighter, in hopes that she could escape the terrible nightmares that had been subjected to her for so long...
and yet, evil still finds its way back into her heart...
