Hey, Dragonangel. It's good to see you again.

I think what happened is interest pretty much just kind of fizzled out. We weren't getting new members to replace those who left (some of which were the most active and included the site's owner), so it became quieter. Like a chorus slowly dying down, with nobody to pick up the singing.

I think the format itself just could not be sustained indefinitely. As fun as it is to stomp things and think of creative ways to outdo your opponent, most people do like to create stories as well, and there was only so much to do with the "imprisoned in an arena" setting. There were the characters' clashing of ideals that would go with the physical fights (like the rivalry between Quetzar and Cyber-Thresher) or repeated encounters between fighters that could make for interesting arcs of sorts, but that was about it.

I also think maybe it was just time to move on. It was like "Okay, we've done this for a while; now how about we try something different?"

For me, personally, the main reason I wasn't doing much is I just found it too tiring to write three attacks every post (well, technically four, due to the undecided one at the end). You had to post in rather quick succession too, and think of new attacks every time, which could get tricky if you were hit by an uninspired bout. It takes me a while to write things due to my bad attention span, so posting here often made me feel a bit drained. I still wanted to keep playing, but with nobody else interested, I just followed other people into different RPGs.

That said, many of us (Giratina93, HayesAJones, Danzilla1996/Corzak, KK, MM, IR and Kiryu2012) can still be found on Toho Kingdom. Most of us in the RPG section, actually (minus IR and MM, since neither of them roleplay anymore). You can always stop by there.

So now that it's safe to say IR's not looking, we can get the monsters back together and break out of the UCA, right?
