Time has past, and Phenoraixa had come accustomed to the UCA enough to be comfortable. However he still hated them for what they were making him do. He witnessed many fights and even the big rule breaking by Rektor, a monster that he familiarized with from his world, and the two brutes known as Thresher and Rosie who made themselves the stars of this place as personal fight favorites. Despite there power, he saw what happened to them when they did not cooperate... So being forced, her simply obeyed when the words came. "Phenoraixa, report to your teleporter pad." With a heavy sigh, he obliged and stepped onto the pad.
In a quick flash, he saw himself in a familiar place. For as far as the eye could see, mountains rippled across the land like granite waves. It was cool up here due to the altitude, and somewhat beautiful. It was a shame the UCA abused there power just for this brutish entertainment... they could do so much good.

A second beam of light pierced the heavens. As the column of energy faded, another giant was left in its place. The great beast- lithe and lean- was known as Drakia. Clinging to the ground in a cautious creep, she slunk forward, intelligent yellow eyes darting to and fro. The predatory reptile was still wary from her last battle, an intense brawl against a hell-raising dragon that had fought more fiercely than anything she'd ever encountered before. She never wished to be pitted against such a savage creature again. Slitted orbs scanning the rough terrain, Drakia saw that there was nothing but mountains and uneven ground for miles. For many beast, this might prove an issue. But not Drakia. She was agile and fast, easily able to move through this type of landscape. In fact, she could flourish in it. As a pleasant breeze blew past, the webbed spines on her back spread a bit instinctively. With enough wind or height, she could actually glide on these crimson fins. Yes, she decided, sitting on her haunches, this would do quite nicely.
Then she spotted the bird.
It was small for a giant, even shorter that herself on all fours. It was rare for Drakia to meet a beast that she outsized. It turned its gaze on her, head cocking thoughtfully. Unlike the cursed dragon, its eyes were calm and benevolent. This was no demon. But for Drakia, it might as well be. Dropping low with a hiss, she whipped open her spines. Her cat-eyes narrowed, pupils shrinking. The bird looked at her in confusion, not sure why he threatened her so. Turning its whole body towards her, it ruffled its wings. Flames flared up from its feathers as it did.
Recoiling like a snake about to strike, Drakia snarled.
She hated fire. Her battle with the dragon had left its mark, a permanent brand on her- an unconditional loathing of flames. And the creature before her seemed to be living fire, practically a breathing star. The air around its sizzled with heat, every motion created licks of flame from its body, and its very existence earned Drakia's complete hatred.
Lips curling, Drakia puffed herself out, ready for any challenge the firebird brought.

Phenoraixa's feathers fluffed up in a intimidating way. All honesty, it wasn't. Drakia knew that and made a B-Line right the bird with intent on killing the flaming beast. Phenoraixa opened his wings and flapped from the earth, letting the lizard barley miss him as he took to the air. The smartest move, so he though. But he couldn't expect what was next. Just as soon as Drakia whipped around, she had kicked off the mountain and glided right at him like a feline dragon from hell!
Drakia collided with Phenoraixa like a freight dragon on a kaiju level. Her sabre like fangs caught into the raptor birds shoulder and tore deep into the hot feathres. The phoenix cried in pain as he began to feel... But Drakia was not in much better shape either. The burning aura around his body was beginning to burn. Small blisters began to form and she was forced to recoil from the creature and glide back to a safe and cool distance. The cool mountain air did wonders for the burns as she glided along...
Phenoraixa hovered there, glaring at the creature in annoyance. A large bleeding mark was on his shoulder and it was not stopping. In fact it seemed to get worse. He realized that despite not sensing any evil in this creature, he could sense her confusion and hatred, like a cornered animal. He had pity for her. Of all the creatures he sensed here in this world that liked to fight and were evil, this was one was just an animal that had been beaten. He would have to defend with all he had, but without trying to harm her too much. Maybe in the end his restraint would win over her common sense.
When Drakia landed, she examined her body. Nothing too bad... first degree burns; being blisters mostly. It wasn't as bad as what that dragon had done. No time for relaxing though. The comet eagle swooped down like a proper bird of prey, claws extended for the finned lizard. Drakia quickly hopped from her place and to a lower rock, missing as the talons caught the mountainside and chipped away flints of stone.
Phenoraixa backed around, heading down after her. It was almost like nature taking its course, only this time the lizard could fight back against the hawk... in this case, eagle. She whipped around, bracing against a rock. Suddenly her flips flung open in less then a second with there bright colors. The bird flinched back in surprise, only to realize too late that it was a common animal tactic. Drakia had already lunged and tackled the bird down to the ground, slashing and biting at her in a fit of rage and fear of the fire.
Suddenly Phenoraixa's body pulsed and a wave of flame erupted in all direction. Drakia shrilled as her body was consumed in fire and blown back, and downhill while partially burning skin. What's worse, she was sent tumbling down the steep mountainside. Noticing that she was in trouble, Phenoraixa worked to get up despite his pain and went down after her, hoping to save her from more damage then necessary... with his claws, of course, and hopped that he could help her.

Drakia yowled indignantly as she tumbled down, body being battered and bruised. She prided herself on her agility, so such a situation made her blood boil. And it was all the stupid firebird's fault! A pair of talons plunged into her shoulders, embracing her flesh in a bloody grip. Drakia hissed sharply as she was heaved off the ground with shocking ease. Speak of the devil! As the lizard thrashed wildly in his claws, caterwauling in agony, Phenoraixa cringed inwardly. The she-beast was obviously in pain, and, unfortunately, he was the one causing it. He hated to harm a creature that wasn't decidedly wicked, but how else was he going to drop her on more level land? Although she was actually being assisted, Drakia took the good-willed action as an attack. And she was plain pissed about it. With a beastial snarl, she lashed out! Her spurred tail whipped up, cracking the air like a whip. The sharp, curved tip stabbed into feathered flesh just below the base of Phenoraixa's wing, goring the champion's side. Crimson feathers exploded into the air, and molten blood showered down on Drakia. The Comet Eagle shrieked, his pained cry piercing the heavens with its shrillness. Flinching violently, the noble bird dropped Drakia. Breaking her fall by whipping open her fans, the great reptile floated down like a parachuter. Landing gracefully on her long, muscular hind legs, Drakia shot a burning glare up at Phenoraixa. A growl rose in her narrow chest, a deadly twinkle in her slitted cat-eyes.
Legs unfolding like springs, the lizard lunged straight up!
Phenoraixa was a powerful flier, an aerial warrior of the highest degree, but even the most skilled flier couldn't stay afloat when a wrathful beast that weighs more than twice you do slams into your gut. Two lung-fulls of air and a bit of blood leaving his maw in a horse breath, Phenoraixa fell sideways from the air, wings hanging limply at his side. Drakia landed gracefully on her feet with feline elegance, tail lashing in self-praise. Phenoraixa landed on his face. Collapsing, the usually benevolent bird felt rage flare up in side of him. Righting himself with a sweep of his fiery wings, the Comet Eagle turned a smouldering gaze on Drakia. The creature was no more evil than he was, but it could certainly use a lesson in manors! Seeing the anger in the avian guardian's eyes, Drakia's view of the bird as a threat was further justified in her mind. She faced her flank to Phenoraixa, leaned to the side, and kicked out. Her clawed foot smashed into the bird's head so hard, the champion saw stars. Cranium snapping to the side, Phenoraixa toppled. Drakia's talons had raked his face, leaving powdery scratched on his beak and bloody gashes on his cheek.
Predatory instincts fully kicking in, Drakia pounced! Stretching out like a springing big cat, the massive reptile's jaws swung open, saber teeth stabbing down towards the fallen Phenoraixa like twin spears...

Having the respectable predator come down on him, Phenoraixa had right mind to defend at full force now that he was irritated. Just as the teeth were inchs away from goring his neck, Phenoraixa pulled his wing up with as much force as he could and a tsunami of fire with it. Drakia howled in pain as her body was engulfed in fire again. In her mind, images of her battle in the burning forest flashed in her mind. All that hell, from one creature... It all drove her even harder in this fight.
Drakia was sent reeling back, forcing to retreat for the moment. as she rolled in the rocks to smother her burns. She was far from done though. Phenoraixa sighed as he righted himself up and looked around. "Stupid ani-" he stopped himself, knowing better. "Now, now Pheno... Your mother taught you better." He took a deep breath and kept alert. He did not see the lizard, but he knew that she was there. Naturally he opened his wings and began to rise off the ground.
That turned out to be a mistake as Drakia suddenly flew in from out of nowhere and collided straight into the bird. The raptor was sent down to the ground and both began to tumble down the mountain. The two tussled and exchanged blows as they went. Both had there advantages here. Drakia, being a very cat like creature, was not being damaged as much by these falls. She as well had a serious weight advantage compared to her foe. Phenoraixa overall body was hot, and so this fall was hurting Drakia in turn with burns. His beak and claws were not exactly all that friendly either.
Finally the two were sent flying as they hit a ledge, now in mid air. Phenoraixa pulled free from the bird and now had a ruffled coat of feathers with patch's missing. Drakia was quick to glide to another ledge and cling with accuracy. The guardian had to admit, Drakia was unique and reminded him of Hera. That is, she was similar in many ways. The dragons he was use to were very prideful and could be greedy, where Drakia proved to be far more humble and truly neutral with, as far as he knew, a good heart at nature like many natural kaiju. But he could sense the lizards anger and hate, so now he was reminded more of the enemy he was accustomed too. He shouted to her in his vexed set of mind, "You stupid lizard, don't you see I sympathize with you? That I can see you are unhappy doing this and just like you?!" Arguing to any better side she had.

Sadly, the perfectly reasonable plead was lost on Drakia. Although she was intelligent and cunning, she could not understand the meaning of the bird's desperate words. Instead, all she picked up was the anger in the words. And nature had hardened her to always answer anger with anger, to fight fire with fire. Drakia let a small shudder go through her body. Anger and fire... that reminded her too much of Hera. As the memories of the berserk dragon floated through her head, she somehow connected Hera and Phenoraixa. In her suspicious and unnerved mindset, it made perfect sense. The two were one and the same, and she hated both of the damned fire-raisers.
Eyes shrinking into hard chips of loathing, Drakia sprung forward with a snarl!
Wheeling around in midair, the lizard's tail whipped out, cutting the air with a low whistle. The already bloody blade hacked into Phenoraixa's chest, feathers exploding from the bird's body. Stumbling back with a shriek, the noble avian thrashed in pain as the deadly tail tip was dragged across his flesh, hooked spur tearing into him mercilessly. As the sinuous tail finally ripped free- splattering a nearby rock with blood- Phenoraixa toppled, a crimson spray if his life essence escaping his gored breast. Coughing, the winged champion tried to right himself as soon as possible, wings pumping frantically. Experience told him what was coming next. With a yowl of excitement, Drakia pounced, claws spreading like a bushel of gleaming scythes. Just as Phenoraixa left the ground with a sweep of his mighty wings, he was cruelly slammed back down. Using one paw to pin down the smaller giant with her greater weight, Drakia plunged her other set of hooked claws into the bird's shoulder, earning a long, hoarse cry. If she could, Drakia would smile. She usually wasn't the out doing the manhandling. Flexing her claws within their bloody sheathes, the predatory beast sent icy waves of agony through her feathered foe. Rage and humiliation peaking, Phenoraixa snapped open his wings and sent a blast of scolding air out in all directions. Caught heavily by the surge of heat, Drakia was flung straight up, belly scorched badly. Whipping open her webbed spines, the wily reptile hung in the air, a strong breath keeping her afloat. Stretching her head down to inspect her burn underside, Drakia grimaced as she spied the nasty blisters all down her chest and stomach. Concern quickly becoming anger, the lizard shot a burning glare down at Phenoraixa, teeth grinding. The bird would pay...
Raising to his feet, Phenoraixa huffed irritably. He really didn't want to be part of this fight, but the reptile was seriously getting on his nerves! He still pitied the creature, realizing she was driven solely by fear and wrongly placed anger, but he would have to step up his game. Sharp pain shot through his chest and shoulder as he shifted. Wincing, the bird frowned deeply. Plus, if he was going to keep the other beast from killing him, he'd have to fight with everything he has. A vicious snarl from above drew his attention. Wings bursting into action, the firebird swoop backwards as Drakia came down like a hammer, paw slapping the rocky group where he had just been. Hissing in annoyance that her attack had failed, Drakia pounced again. Raising like a plume of fire, Phenoraixa danced around another swipe from the lizard's claws. A whip of Drakia's tail cleaved a few feathers from his colorful crest, he he still managed to duck under it. Landing on all fours, Drakia spat in fury. If the bird wanted to play that game, she'd just have to make a more direct approach. Leaping up again, the lithe giant snarled. Phenoraixa readied himself to dodge another swing. But he wasn't prepared from the lizard to simply lower her skull and smashed right into him. Wheezing as Drakia's headbutt emptied his lungs, the Comet Eagle went limp. Wrapping her claws around the bird's wing in a firm grip, Drakia held Phenoraixa out in front of her like a shield. As the two fell, the fiery guardian was set to absorb all of the impact when the two giant hit the ground...

the ground was racing toward him. He was dazed, but he had to force himself to get in gear before the impact. A fall like this would give nearly any monster, especially a flying avian one that has brittle bones, damn well near death. Before they could even get closer, Phenoraixa opened his beak wide and cried out a classic eagle cry, fallowed by a onslaught of flame pushing against the gravity that pulled him toward a unpleasant fate. Like a rocket, the force of flame slowed them down.
Much to Drakia's dismay, too. Using the bird for a cushion was not going to work now. Even worse, Phenoraixa turned his head and began to use the fire breath to make them spin in mid air! With the flames pushing them, they were quickly spinning faster. Time to abandon ship. Drakia jumped before she found herself dizzy and turned around, gliding to a safe spot.
Phenoraixa got one problem fixed. Now he had to get himself right up. Stopping the flow of flame, he began opening his wings and caught the air. The recovery was a bit sloppy and bumpy, but he managed to get himself balanced. His eyes explored around to see where he was; a few hundred feet from the ground and pain, and Drakia landing nearby.
Having the upper hand now, the sun bird banked hard and gave chase after Drakia. The cat like lizard was quick to flee since the shoe was on the other foot, so to speak. She was quick and agile, leaping from rock to rock with immense ease. Phenoraixa may have the air, but she had this uneven terrain aced. While in chase, PHenoraixa spat a stream of flame after her. At this point, he was just far too set on surviving this battle and beating down Drakia without making her anger and fear worse. He would have to try and talk to her after he wins... lore's. Once more Drakia proved that she was more then capable of avoiding attacks when she had the high ground. Though, Phenoraixa had the air and probably had a better advantage.
The chase quickly turned more perilous as the two turned a sharp corner in the mountain. A massive chasm stretched out, narrow and only about a thousand feet wide, but amazingly deep as the mountains are high. Seemingly Drakia had no more running ground. No problem, she did not need it. With a leap of faith, her spines whipped open and she was soon gliding to the other cliff side.
Phenoraixa was right behind. He gained altitude and aimed to raise above the enemy for a strike from above. Given he was better in the air then she was, he was above in moments. In position at last, he dive down right after her. Seconds past and he was only a seconds away from digging his claws into her and tearing her flesh away. But Drakia had reached the other side and caught the rock, breaking into a run as she used her momentum to seemingly defy gravity and run along the surface like a basilisk runs over the water. Phenoraixas claws caught the cliff and scared it as gravity pulled him. He quickly kicked off and flew ahead again, realizing that he would have to try again or rather something else since Drakia probably saw that and figured out how to avoid.
Yet now Phenoraixa was below Drakia. As he began rising, Drakia kicked off again, toward the comet eagle. Her spines opened and she began gliding, but as she did, she passed the bird. In a loud cry of pain and the sound of a blade cutting through flesh, the lizards fins struck the raptorial bird with precision. Phenoraixa faltered in mid air as he was struck. A new gash went up his shoulder and around his neck and up to his neck a short ways. Thankfully it didn't go too deep as to cut off breathing or start death by lose of blood.
Now he was angry. He quickly flew after Drakia with intends to repay her for that one. Drakia caught onto the other cliff side and again was running. Phenoraixa fallowed, staying just behind her. This way he could not open himself to her frontal attacks. With her footing be lost as she ran, Drakia had to kick off into the air again. When she did this time, Phenoraixa finally raised into the air as quickly as he could, once more coming down with his talons extended like a Falcon aiming for a pigeon...

Phenoraixa came down like a flaming arrow, talons biting into Drakia's back like the blade of an avenging beast. The feline beast hissed in pain, spine arching in pain. As the bird's full weight came down on her, she collapsed, legs buckling at odd angles. Smashed down into the jagged ground, her jaw cracked against a rock, sending a spike of agony into her skull. Crying out like an eagle after a successful hunt, Phenoraixa stabbed down with his hooked beak. Drakia yowled at the firebird's vicious beak tore into her flesh, carving an ugly gash into her spine. Head whipped around on its muscular mount, Drakia stretched her gaping jaws forward. The open maw slammed closed around on of Phenoraixa's legs, saber fangs cutting deeply into the slim limb. The Comet Eagle was suddenly ripped from his bloody perch, wings beating frantically. But he was already firmly in Drakia's grasp. Raising to her feet with a muffled growl, the lizard shook her head violently, teeth shredding feathered flesh. Phenoraixa went stiff, a sharp screech exploding from his chest. Wheeling around in a great circle, Drakia hurled the noble bird away from her. Quickly coming to his senses, the avian guardian righted himself with a few stabilizing flaps of his wings. Hissing in annoyance, Drakia spied a loose pile of rocks in the corner of her eye.
For the second time today, the reptile longed for the facial muscles to smile.
Flattening his feather in an embarrassed manor, Phenoraixa exhaled a long breath, calming himself. Remember, he thought aloud, it's just an animal. Don't get too terribly excited. Immediately after he finished the thought, a rock smashed into the bird's head, nearly bowling him over. The living sun squawked in surprise and pain, a gash oozing on his brow. Another rock- smaller than the first, but moving faster- struck his chest, pushing him back roughly and widening the wound already there. That earned a sharp hiss of pain. A third rock sailed over head, luckily bouncing off the ground in front of Phenoraixa. But the fourth and last rock caught the birds squarely in one of his wing, jerking him to the side with a shriek. Hitting the group hard, Phenoraixa spotted Drakia looking at him through smug eyes, tail lashing in satisfaction. Kind eyes hardened.
That's it, screw keeping calm.
Becoming airborne with a powerful sweep of his wings, Phenoraixa swooped towards Drakia, a stream of fire billowed up from his gullet. Thinking fast, the lizard snatched up another rock in her maw. Pouncing, she trained herself at the incoming firebird. The blast of flames hit her straight on, but much of it was parted by the boulder jutting her her mouth. Searing licks of flames still tickled at her face and side though, leaving dark patches of dull aching all over her striped hide. Phenoraixa let his jaw swing open in shock, flood of flames ceasing, as he realized what was about to happen. Cutting completely through the fiery jet, Drakia collided with the winged protector. The rock leading the charge, Phenoraixa dropped from the sky like, well... a rock. Landing neatly, Drakia whipped around smoothly and sprang toward her foe's downed form. There was a large chip taken out of the bird's beak.
Rearing up to her full height, Drakia allowed herself a quick purr. Then she lunged, bringing the rock in her jaws down like a hammer, aiming for Phenoraixa's skull...

Phenoraixa gasped as the rock started coming down. Without even thinking of where he would end up, he rolled away to avoid getting his skull smashed in with his brain splattered like a popped egg. Thankfully he was still on firm ground and quickly righted himself. He felt the sting in his beak from where a chip was missing. Drakia quickly fallowed up by leaping onto the bird and biting into his wing, causing him to cry out in pain. Fighting back, Phenoraixa kicked and clawed up at the lizards belly. His talons gored the lizards gut and she quickly jumped off before her cuts were spilled out.
Drakia growled and hissed curses to herself. She was so close to killing that damn bird and probably good spicy drumsticks. Putting one claw on a rock, she opened her fins and hissed at the bird. She knew better then to just throw herself into the fire while he was up and facing her, so she only growled and threatened.
With wariness, Phenoraixa picked himself up and backed up. Not for a moment did he take his eyes off this wily reptile, since he knew she would be on him in a heartbeat. His patience was waring thin with this one. Even Vastrato could be talked too and reasoned with, despite her grumpy and irrational disposition. This cat-like monitor lizard was just... But he stopped himself from labeling her as a bad creature. She was afraid and angry. He had to keep that in mind... then again, she did throw rocks at him.
Since there was no turning away, there was just one simple move left: Frontal assault. Slowly folding out his wings, he looked like he was about to take off. Drakia braced to leap into the air and knock him down... instead, with the raise of his wings, came a wall of fire that rose higher then either of them were tall. The heat was intense and even Drakia felt it, making her back away in fear of being scorched again like Hera had done. Without hesitation, Phenoraixa flapped his wings hard. As if on command, the wall of fire came tumbling down toward the fear filled lizard who turned to try and flee. Simply too late. A sea of fire consumed her, making her cry out in agony as fire washed over her entire body like a tidal surge of water.
The cries of pain and fear were too loud for Phenoraixa who quickly doused his powers. Within seconds the fire died away into smoke and thin air. All around there was little oxygen now from all the flames burning it up, but it was quickly returning in this cool mountain air. Drakia thrashed out in such pain. Her body was covered in second and third-degree burn marks. Much of her coloring was blackened or simply gone with her layer of skin. She was bleeding badly. The pain made her roll and twitch in immense pain and discomfort. Even some of her muscles showed.
Guilt washed over the sun bird. "oh what have I done..." He should have known better. This was sure to make the creature worse and probably never trust him at all. Trust and allies was something that was going to be needed in this cruel fighting circuit. In his good heart, he slowly approached. "Forgive me, I did not mean to harm you... Please try to understand my patience wore thin." He was being slow while keeping his voice calm and soothing as best he could. He was ready to jump back or fight though if she lunged.

Drakia was in a world of pain, her body and mind on fire. Thrashing wildly on the ground, she clawed and pawed at her own body, worsening the wounds that covered her lithe form. It wasn't necessarily the pain that drove her to such madness, but the deep, agonizing itching that just couldn't be quelled. Screaming loudly, she jumped to her feet. Her pain was forgotten as a rage unlike any other she had ever felt in her life overtook her. Her eyes blazed, her chest puffed out, and her spines whipped open. The bird, the damned bird! It was the bird's fault! Snarling loudly, Drakia prepared to pounced and rip into Phenoraixa with all her might.
Then the avian guardian's soft, sorrowful words floated into her mind.
All of Drakia's anger left her in one long breath. Her body deflated, her spines slowly folded against her flank, and her eyes widened in confusion. The bird's words were... soothing. There was no anger or hate or aggression, just regret. That couldn't be right. Drakia eyed Phenoraixa warily. Was this some sort of trick? Or... was the bird truly sorry? Eyes gleaming with hope, Phenoraixa hopped forward, wings flaring. He was getting through to the lizard! Fantastic! In that instance- with Phenoraixa before her, wings open and flickering with flames- a memory flashed through Drakia's mind, a violent, chaotic memory of flames and battle. For a split second, Phenoraixa was replaced with a savage image of Hera, jaws open, claws spread, and eyes glowing. The dragon's form was silhouetted by a blazing forest, trees shattered and blacked behind her. The dragon's dark shape was practically the shadow of death, the bride of Satan himself. Drakia's pupils shrunk to furious pinpoints, a mix of fear and rage consuming her.
With a deep, guttural snarl, the great reptile lunged, reason overshadowed by instinct!
Phenoraixa took to the air in a flash, adrenaline roaring in his veins. He screeched in alarm. What had happen? He had been so close! Drakia fell just short of striking the bird, claws flashing out bitterly. But as she soared below the rising guardian, her razor-sharp spines snapped out in a crimson flash. Phenoraixa threw his head back in a pained cry, feathers and blood raining down in a fiery shower. Several deep gashes were gouged into his flank, a cold numbness already forming around them. Going limp, the bird plunged, But before he hit the ground, something long and sinuous wrapped around his neck like a noose-
Drakia's tail.
The lizard hit the ground running, Phenoraixa yanked after her with a strangled gurgle. Bounding and jumping over the rough landscape, Drakia took her feathered foe for one hell of a ride. The Comet Eagle was dragged across the unforgiving ground, bouncing off boulders and jagged peaks. A wide trail of blood and tissue soon cut through the mountain terrain. Desperate for release, Phenoraixa loosed a massive blast of fire. The searing plume was undirected, but managed to totally engulf Drakia's hindquarters. The feline reptile yowled in agony, her haunches blackened and burned to a crisp. Stopping on a dime, she wheeled around and hurled Phenoraixa into a particularly large rock. Watching the champion suffer as he slammed into the boulder, rolling off with a groan, Drakia gave herself a good shake. A dark cloud of charred skin and flesh rose up off her backside, revealing ugly patches of raw tissue. Snorting angrily, she turned a glare at Phenoraixa. The firebird was slowly getting up, feathers and gore littering the ground around him.
Growling deep within her thin chest, Drakia charged. Whipping around on her flank as she neared the bird, one of her long, lean hind legs lashed out in a blur of striped hide and ivory claws...

Phenoraxia threw up a wing and flinched in pain as the claws slashed his wing. In response he pushed forward and batted the lizard away with a light gust of wind. Drakia hissed in pain as her burnt skin screamed in response. She backed for her own good as Phenoraixa rose flames around him to discourage her from just attacking. In fear of the flames, she kept her distance.
Again Phenoraixa tried talking sense. "I am doing my best to to help you. I can no do that if your so intent on killing me in place of another." In a moment, Drakia seemed confused. In her head she could see the images from her fight with the fire breathing monster that nearly killed her. The images came and went, back and forth between the two of what she was seeing now and what she experienced. The pain was to great for her to forget... In her fit of anger and fear, Drakia lunged despite the fire that surrounded the bird. In his own fear to harm her more, he quickly pulled the flames away and threw up both claws on his feet.
The two collided, claws interlocking with claws. But Drakia was simply bigger and heavier, toppling over the bird as she snapped at his neck. It took all the birds focus to keep his neck from being snapped in those sabre teeth. He had to get free with the minimal damage as possible. A quick flick of his wings and a small flash of embers came up on both the lizards sides, striking her with a light attack. Already in pain, she quickly pulled away and thrashed around.
Taking the moment, Phenoraixa quickly got up and lunged forward and slammed himself right into the feline wannabe with hard force, bowling them both over and down hill. The two tumbled and began to exchange blow for blow. A claw to the beak, a peck to the cheek; a slash on the side and a bite to the torso.
Finally they hit a large boulder and they came to a stop. In effort, Phenoraixa tore away and flapped his wings to pull off the ground. Drakia fallowed, just barley missing his leg. Now that he was in the air, he hovered there as he caught his breath. His short break did not last long. Drakia quickly pounced onto the boulder and jumped at the sun bird. Phenoraixa was keen to dodge and moved from the line of sight. But Drakia landed on the steep mountainside and ricocheted right back at him.
He was knocked from the sky again with the weight of this lizard coming down on him. This time around he managed to pull away and recover from being attacked, with the lose of some of his feathers. Drakia was not without fault either. She continued to glide down the mountain and away.
Having the moment, Phenoraixa decided it was his turn to attack. Apparently there was on reasoning with her like this... so he was going to have to beat her down and then try to reason with her, if he doesn't happen to make it worse to begin with. Letting gravity take part, Phenoraixa dived after her. His body erupted into fire and his body turning into a flaming meteor of sorts, racing down after the lizard like a missile with his sharp beak first...

Wings tuck snugly against his side, Phenoraixa plunged down like a flaming arrow, rapidly burning up the distance between him and his prey. Drakia, who could only glide so fast, had absolutely no chance of countering or dodging the winged avenger as he descended upon her. With a piercing eagle screech, the firebird collided with the lizard, hooked beak tearing into her side. Drakia gasped in agony as a large gash was carved into her flesh, blood pouring from the ghastly wound in crimson sheets. Lashing out in her great pain, the giant reptile caught Phenoraixa upside the head with a flailing paw. The feathered champion squawked in alarm as he was shoved roughly...
... right into a cliff face.
The Comet Eagle cried out in horror as he was ground against a sheer wall of unforgiving stone, his feathers and flesh ripped away in an instant. He was only in contact with the rocky surface for a second or two, but at the speed his was moving, he left behind a grotesque amount of tissue. One side of his body was now raw and oozing, all the blood and inflamed flesh matching his red hued plumage. Groaning in utter agony as the fierce wind ripped at his vulnerable and massive wounds, Phenoraixa banked, breaking away from Drakia in odd, lop-sided flight pattern. Predatory senses taking over, the lizard gave chase, kicking off the cliff with an excited yowl. Drizzling a scarlet rain over the uneven landscape, Phenoraixa was struggling to keep in the air, each pump of his wings sending a fresh burst of pain through his body. He nearly went limp when Drakia slammed into him from above, more falling than gliding. Letting the bird do all the work, the great hunter stabbed her saber teeth into Phenoraixa's back. The bird gave a long, shrill scream, head rolling back in a small spasm. Drakia relished the salty, metallic taste of the blood than flooded into her mouth, tongue lapping and nostrils sucking in the coppery smell greedily. Unfortunately, the small matter of getting close to shattering against the ground interrupted her. Reluctantly unsheathing her fangs and leaping from Phenoraixa, the lizard glided to safety, landing firming on a large boulder. Turning in a lazy matter and sitting daintily on her haunches, the lithe beast watched her foe plummet through hooded cat-eyes.
Free of all the extra weight, Phenoraixa's wings exploded into action, beating the air furiously. He was going to hit the ground, that was unavoidable. But if he could act fast enough, he might be able to avoid serious injury. Adding to his frantic flapping, the fiery defender breathed a jet of flames, the powerful stream slowing him immense before-
CRASH!
Feathers and blood scattered around his sprawled body, Phenoraixa coughed weakly. It was nowhere near his best landing, his whole body aching and crying out in distress as he breathed, but at least he was alive.
Hoping to fix that, Drakia pounced down from her rocky perch with an annoyed snort. Why couldn't the bird just die? Bounding across the jagged terrain with feline grace, the lizard made a tremendous spring, soaring at the downed Phenoraixa with claws spread and eyes glinting...
