PHenoraixa was still recovering when Drakia came from behind. Those sabre fangs came down on the avian's shoulder. Fangs digging deep into his shoulder like two swords, causing him to screech in pain. In her anger for fire, Drakia began to shake her head furiously like a pitbull that had a bones. PHenoraixa was being tossed all over, forcing him to remain limp. He dare not fight this or else he would risk breaking bones.
Slowly drakia lowered her head and pushed her claw into the phoenix's back. She had right mind to tear off his wing and was going to do just that. But before Phenoraixa could allow that one to slide, he decided hell no. Once the thrashing had stopped, Phenoraixa's fire veil picked up like a bonfire. Flames suddenly erupted all around him.
That included Drakia.
In pain, she reeled back and backed away as her already burnt skin screamed in more agony as her nerves begged for relief. What she would give for a plant full of aloe and remedies right about now. Free at last, Phenoraixa turned and opened his beak wide. A jet of flames rushed forward and slammed into Drakia. Drakia cried out as more fire burned her skin. In fear and desperation for the pain to stop, she quickly backed off and ran uphill.
Phenoraixa had just about enough of this. He was going to end this now. Flames gathered around him, the wind picking up as the heat caused air to rise toward the clouds. The air combusted and a virtual firestorm appeared all around him. "Forgive me, Drakia..." He quietly said. Suddenly the flames began to move in form. They twirled in pattern, taking a shape. Soon it took a shape... the shape of a massive eagle. It towered over one-hundred meters and its wings spread even farther.
Drakia's eyes as the towering creature of fire stood high above her. Never had she seen anything like this... Hera just seemed all the less dangerous in this time of need. Phenoraixa flew up into the fire, entering the avatar that he created. With a loud cry, the avatar came alive and began to move as freely as the bird himself. Without hesitation, Drakia started to run since she had no chance against this thing. A loud eagle cry echoed out as the sun bird quickly fallowed. In one stride he slammed the avatars talon in the way of Drakia's path and blocked her. She skid to a stop and turned to run, heading underneath the fire and out the other side. The towering inferno turned around and gave chase. Rather, swiped its massive wing down at the fleeing lizard and stopped her. With no solid form, the wing did not hit Drakia in a physical sense. Instead, it was a wave of fire that scorched over he poor lizad with no remorse. Cries of pain came from her rolled over to a stop, thrashing now in agony once more as flames lapped over her entire body surface.
Phenoraixa saw the pain and wished that it did not have to be this way. Yet if he stopped now and gave her a chance, she would not return the kindness and most likely kill him. So without remorse, he rose off the ground, bringing the avatar of fire up with him. "This ends now..." He said as he left the flames. As he hovered, he raised one wing and thrust it forward. On command, the entire form of the avatar all came down toward Drakia without any restraint this time...

As the vast creature composed entirely of flames descended, as if some wrathful god of the hunt had sicked it on her, Drakia howled in fright. The thing was a terror, its mere presence turning the sky red and creating an unbearable heat. Drakia's eyes were wide and darting, desperate for some sort of escape, a way out, any way out. There were none. As the fiery eagle came down, it seemed like the end for the lizard. Despite all her cunning and prowess, Drakia was still an animal. And all animals will fight for survival to the bitter end. Whether with dignity or in shame, animals will do anything to prevent their own demise. This included Drakia. With a literal sea of fire threatening to turn her to ashes and erase her forever, the great reptile was terrified, filled with primal fear. But in the face of death, fear became determination. Determination became anger. Anger became fury.
And fury became madness.
The enormous mass of fire crashed into the ground, flames washing over the landscape in searing waves.
The fire engulfed everything, nothing spared from its burning embrace. Soil, rocks, and vegetation- it was all claimed by the flames, the incredible heat devouring everything. Watching as an absolute inferno rose in an instant, Phenoraixa lowered his head respectfully. It was done. However much he loathed the idea of ending a creature than had no real crimes to speak of, Drakia simply couldn't have survived that. Nothing could. Wallowing in his regret, the firebird waited for the announcement of his victory.
Somewhere from within the fire and carnage, a furious yowl found his ears instead.
Phenoraixa's head whipped up, eyes widening and jaw going slack. That cry! Could it truly be? But... but how?
A dark shape suddenly burst through a curtain of flames, another bestial howl tearing through the air. Phenoraixa gasped in horror as he recognized Drakia. The lizard's hide was burnt beyond recognition. Her stripes and dull color were gone, replaced by a uniformed charred black, ash constantly shedding off the crisped skin. The only thing was wasn't this same dark hue were the giant's eyes. And Phenoraixa could swear that the didn't belong to the same sly beat he fought before. These weren't the hooded, slitted cat-eyes that had considered him coldly and calmly, as if he was just another piece of prey. These were wide and bloodshot, pupils shrunk so small they were barely visible- the eyes of a demon. When Phenoraixa felt its crazed gaze scan him, he knew they were seeing a creature they already considered dead. The winged guardian stared in awe, shocked by both the brutality he himself had inflicted and of what Drakia had become. The lizard was possessed, the need to survive taking over her. Adrenaline roaring through her veins, she was in a kind of high. There was no though, just action.
With a world-shaking roar, Drakia charged!
Ripped back to reality by the tremendous bellow, Phenoraixa leaped into the air, wings pumping powerfully. But Drakia made a leap of her own, bounding straight at the fleeing bird. With a guttural snarl that ripped from her slavering jaws like a bark, the maddened lizard slammed her hooked claws into the champion's face. Claws parting flesh like butter, Phenoraixa cheek was torn open, blood spilling into his own mouth. Hammered by the stunning blow, the bird lurched back. But Drakia's whip-like tail cracked the air, wrapping around his throat. Yanking the Comet Eagle back with a twist of her flank, Drakia kicked out. Reeled back in, Phenoraixa plowed right into the devastating kick. The power of the blow doubled him over, as if he was a twig snapped easily in half, and Drakia's vicious claws bit deeply into his gut. Slumping over with a gurgle, the fiery raptor felt blood rush from his open stomach, its horrible warth soaking his midsection. Lips curled back in a permanent snarl, Drakia pounced on the downed protector. Rearing up with a savage cry, she slammed her paws down into the bird, both planted firmly into his bleeding gut. Phenoraixa's head whipped up with a strangled cry, a mix of blood and saliva spilling from his beak. When the lizard removed her paws, the head fell back down weakly.
Eyes still feral and wild, Drakia pulled her head back, neck curling into an S-shape, and lunged. Her jaws closed around Phenoraixa's skull, her saber teeth fitting snugly around the bird's neck, pressed gently against the back of his head and his chin. Excited by the blood she tasted, the predatory giant clenched her jaws, trying her best to crush Phenoraixa's cranium...

Phenoraixa screamed in pain as the pressure was so much. Pinned down and very little place to go, He endured the pain. In desperate attempt he began to release fire and heat like crazy to get her off. But this time around she did not let go. Most of her outside nerves had been completely destroyed and burned. The pain was not as severe so she did not release right away. That is until the fire went into her mouth and down her throat. A shrill of pain came from her and she let go, just enough time for Phenoraixa to leap up swing around with his wing, flames erupting from it in a wave.
The fire struck Drakia in the face and it made her stumble back. But she did not scream this time... There was simply no receptors in her face at all. Her head just slowly turned and she snarled in anger. Phenoraixa's eyes eye wide in fear. As best he could, he backed away and left a trail of blood from his bleeding gut. "Drakia, no... this isn;t your... its the anger and fear... Your not this monster..." His voice shaky. "I made a mistake... I should have just gave up and lost, look at what I made of you..." His fear was obvious for he did not try to hide it. No matter what, he could never lie to himself or those he hurt like this. This angry creature that lusted for blood was his fault... his doing and his shame. "Please..." He beseeches her in attempt to get her understand.

The bird's words were truthful, his plead genuine. Any creature with a good heart could see that.
But Drakia's heart had died back in the sea of fire.
There was now nothing left in its place but hate and rage. There was an emptiness in the lizard's chest, making her ache and crave fulfillment. And there was only one thing that would satisfy her now- blood. Phenoraixa's blood. Eyes hard and unforgiving, the burnt beast sprung. In self defense, the Comet Eagle clapped his wings together, sending out a blast of heat. The wall of compacted hot air slammed into the pouncing Drakia, sending her flying backwards. She felt nothing, her out layers of skin scorched too badly to feel pain. But the blow chipped away bits of her crisped body, revealing the pale gleam of bone at the tip of her claws and spines. And as she hit the ground, the dried, dead flesh around her tail cracked and splintered. Oblivious to it, Drakia rolled to her feet and lunged again. This time she caught Phenoraixa with a savage swipe, bowling the bird over in midair. Tumbling through the air, the noble flier squeezed his eyes shut with a gasp.
Forgive me!
An intense shock wave of fire exploded out from the bird, blowing away Drakia and righting him. The powerful blast further weakened the wearing flesh on the lithe giant's tail. Slamming against the ground, Drakia huffed in annoyance, more of her blackened flesh falling away in a flaky shower. As she got up, dark ash rose up from Drakia's hide like a cloud. Snarling in anger, the lizard lashed her tail sharply.
With a bone-chilling crackling, the flesh that covered a good two-thirds of her tail fell away, breaking up into grit.
Two jaws dropped in horror as Drakia's now skeletal tail fell to the ground with a limp clatter, the vertebrae knocking against each other. Phenoraixa gazed at the maimed appendage in shock, suddenly more sorry than ever before. A bizarre calm seemed to come over Drakia as she examined the useless length of bone hanging from the stump of her tail. Evil yellow eyes widened in realization. Bone? Yes. Limp? Yes. But useless? Perhaps not. With a quick flick of her flank, the black terror cracked the air with the bony remainder of her tail. In a flash of starch white, the chipped dagger point of the tail was buried in Phenoraixa's shoulder. The bird screamed in pain, head ducking down to jab at the blade with his beak. It was soon freed from the champion's feathered body, and retracted back to Drakia with another swift jerk. fascinated with her new weapon, the twisted predator twirled it about over her head, like a primeval flail. A new sort of madness descended upon her, a dark delight at what she could now do. Permanent grimace growing, the horror hunched down low, skeletal whip at the ready. Growling, she was clearly giving Phenoraixa a choice.
Die now, or steel himself enough to battle what he himself had created...

Phenoraixa huffed and stared down this new creature. New before had he to make such a dark choice such as killing an evil he created from a naturally good heart animal. This abomination... But now he had to fight. Standing up right and taking a deep breath, Phenoraixa spread his wings and did an almost fighting pose. "I can see your more to listening now... and I want to say I am sorry for what I have done to you..." His eyes narrowed. "But I made you this evil... I corrupted you and I never felt anything more terrible then turning you into this... this... thing...." His fire slowly built up from his feathers. "Now you only deal in absolutes and evil..." Fire came fro his wing tips, almost making blades. "I will do what I must..." Now it was time for no more holding back. It was all now too late and the only thing left was to put her out of her misery...
Drakia's eyes glared as she spoke with her body language... you will try... As her long boney claws gored the rock under him, her black cracked lips sneering in insanity...
Suddenly she jumped toward the bird, claws and teeth ready to tear and rip flesh from bone with most glee to kill. In reaction, PHenoraixa threw up his talons like a sword, catching the oncoming claws and allowing her own force to push him out from under her just from her claw coming down. Like a ballerina dancer, the bird twirled around and brought his other talon into Drakia's face with deep slashes. Drakia hissed in slight pain and turned back, jaws aimed for his wing. The sun bird was quick to twirl again, bringing his wing back in a back-slap with fire in the wake. Drakia flinched away, but only slightly to protect her eye. No use in losing an eye in this fight.
Now it was her turn. Swinging her body around in a broadside tactic that used her body as battering weapon. Phenoraixa got the wind buffeted out of him as he was knocked back and used his wings to keep himself from being bowled over. In response, his talon locked into her chard side and dug in. Drakia head a fit and brought her tail up like a scorpion that came down at the bird to gore his skull. Phenoraixa forced one claw out and captured the oncoming strike between his talons. "Oh no you don't!" He went one step further and pulled her own tail down and right into her own back. The lizard shrilled out as her torso got gored. Her insides still felt pain so it was unpleasant as having a parasite.
She quickly turned her head and caught Phenoraixa's long rooster/peacock like tail in her teeth. With all her might and the anticipation of tearing the bird apart, she pulled to try and get the phoenix off. He held onto her back with his talons, digging them into the hard and black skin that he burned away earlier. The feeling of his biggest feathers being pulled hurt like a fingernail being pulled from is root. "Let go of me at once!" He cried.
To free himself, it was time for something far more drastic. Already halfway on her back and side, Phenoraixa began to slam his beak down like a jack hammer into Drakia's back to try and tear open her spine and tear something vulnerable loose...

Deformed face twisting in agony, Drakia thrashed as Phenoraixa hammered away at her spine. With each blow, a huge chunk of her flesh was carved away and crimson blood stained her black shell. Much longer like this and she risked loosing the use of her hindquarters forever. Releasing the bird, she sprung away, back legs kicking wildly. Soaring up into the air with a sweep of his fiery wings, the firebird cried out angrily. Circled as Drakia hunkered down warily below, Phenoraixa prepared himself to end this. He was responsible for the creation of such a monstrosity, so he must find it within himself to erase her all well! A fiery aura formed around the champion, who was summoning his power. It was flames that created this abomination, and flames would end it!
With an eagle screech, the Comet Eagle breathed a massive blast of fire down, the searing jet totally engulfing Drakia.
The stream of flames lasted for nearly a minute, it heat eating away at the terrain itself. But as it faded, Phenoraixa couldn't believe what he saw- Drakia, completely unharmed, glaring up at him like a demon. With her charred husk of skin protecting her, the fire simply rolled off her blackened hide. In fact, all the blast did was ignite numerous embers embedded in her burnt form, which glowed eerily against her twisted body. Leaping straight up, a gray trail of ash hanging behind her like a comet tail, Drakia attacked!
Sharp, gnarled claws ripped up at one of Phenoraixa's wings, spilling blood and dicing feathers to bits. Stumbling midair, the firebird dropped down some, wings pumping frantically. Swing her hooked claws down now, Drakia clubbed the winged protector over the head, talons biting deep into his skull. Plunging, Phenoraixa streaked towards the ground, a shower of blood following him. Eyes glowing in sadistic delight, Drakia dropped down after him, fins ripping to burnt shreds as she fell. No longer than a second after Phenoraixa slammed into the ground, Drakia landed heavily atop him, saber teeth stabbing into his back, one on either side of his spine. Shrieking in agony, the bird struggled mightily, adrenaline-fueled strength threatening to throw her of.
With a hideous, slavering, joyous snarl, the black terror leaped off, boney tail cracking the air like a bullwhip as she did, blade slicing the air cleaning towards Phenoraixa...

The whip slashed down the birds back, making him cry out in pain. Another whack and another strip of blood went down the birds back. Slowly he began to rise, but another and another strike hit him in the back. Drakia was thoroughly enjoying this as she punished the bird, satisfaction coming from every new red streak going down the avian's back like lashes from a whip.
When she tried to lash him again, Phenoraixa turned and caught the tail with his clawed talon. "Enough of this!" He opened his wings and took off into the sky. Divine strength with him, he took Drakia with her. A trail of smoke fallowed her as she was pulled into the sky. After reaching far off the mountains and into the clouds, Phenoraixa released Drakia and allowed her to fall. A loud shrill of terror echoed through the mountains as she feel toward the earth. With her wings so burnt, she could not even catch air. This time she would not be saved by Phenoraixa. He just watched, sighing. "I envy you..."
As she feel, he dive bombed after her. His body erupted into flames as he did. Before he reached her, he banked hard and turned around. BANG! He struck her hard from the side, making her spin in mid air. Then he came around from underneath, slamming her hard again and making her spin the other direction. Then from above, then the side, then from the other side all over again.
After several strikes he stopped and flew above again. "Your end is now." Body turning into a flaming arrow, PHenoraixa dive bombed after Drakia like a meteor from the heavens and with just as much force. He left a comet like tail of fire and heat as he rocketed toward Drakia, intended on blowing her into oblivion with the impact...

As Phenoraixa roared down like Drakia's celestial judgement, time seemed to slow down for the lizard. With her foes coming down upon her in the form of a fireball, she struggled to keep fear from overwhelming her, but eventually beat it back. With a surreal sense of calmness, she examined her options. She couldn't escape. There would be no gliding from her with her so fins torn and burned. And there weren't any solid surfaces from her to kick off. Could she somehow counter? But... but that would mean getting close to the flaming bird. She couldn't imagine herself going anywhere nearing the living inferno with being totally consumed by fear.
But... what if she let it? Isn't that how she gained as these new powers? Fear was a powerful motivator, perhaps the greatest of them all.
So why get in its way.
She let all her fear flow freely as Phenoraixa closed the distance, head lowering and eyes squeezing shut as he prepared to collide with the falling reptile, shattering her. Drakia's terror built up, swelling far more than she believed it could. And as it grew, she felt it filling her, threatening to burst free. And the instant before Phenoraixa struck her, it did.
Eyes snapping open to reveal what could only be described as pure insanity mixed with a healthy dose of homicidal rage, Drakia lashed out with her hind legs!
The burnt beast's gnarled claws slammed into Phenoraixa's shoulders, closing immediately in tight, bloody grasp. As the Comet Eagle came down at full speed, instead of being shattered like glass, she was shoved aside. And with a mass more than twice his suddenly latched to his shoulders, the firebird went into a violent spin, flames extinguishing almost immediately. Both crying out- Drakia in dark delight, and Phenoraixa in alarm and horror- the two locked figures barreled down in a wild roll, each tumbling over the other. Phenoraixa screamed frantically. Had Drakia gone crazy? Such an impact could kill them both! When he saw the wicked joy dancing across the lizard's face, he suddenly had his answer. As the two plunged, the winged champion unleashed the biggest flame he could muster. The blast of fire spiraled around the dueling giant in a searing wheel. From afar, it must look like some god was playing frisbse with a small star. Phenoraixa's hope were that he could slow their joint descent enough to avoid any mortal or crippling injuries.
With one last excited yowl from Drakia, the wheel of flames exploded into the ground.
Fire swept over the terrain as the fennul of fire broke apart. Lurching clumsily from the flames, Phenoraixa flew painfully on his side, blood soaking into his feathers. The bird almost dropped from the sky when he saw Drakia leap out after him. The reptile was just as badly hurt as he was, if not more, but didn't seemed bothered by it. In her berserk state, Drakia could temporarily push aside things like pain. With a quick kick and a flick of her skeletal tail, the charred demon launched into a fierce spin, like an organic whirlwind, claws and teeth first. The black-and-ivory twister slammed into Phenoraixa's chest he he stared at it in awe, mangled claws drilling into his chest. The feathered protector wailed in pain. Dropping, Drakia was forced to end her spin and land neatly on all fours. But as soon as she did, her boney tail whipped up. Guided by pure instinct, Phenoraixa jerked to the side as the bone dagger struck, the blow meant for his heart only goring his ribs, sending blood and tissue raining down on the Ash Queen. With an annoyed hiss, Drakia tore free her tail with another hot sprinkle of life essence, enraged state fading. The sadistic killer may have missed her mark, but she rarely made that mistake twice.
Springing straight up at Phenoraixa, Drakia whipped her jagged spines open, hoping to spear the firebird on them...

Again Phenoraixa had to move fast or die. He threw out his talons and caught one of the attackers spines to avoid them going right through him and probably cutting him in half or worse. Instead of getting impaled and cut up, he was pushed back as he held tightly to Drakia's spine like a bird on a stick.
She began bucking and thrashing to try and throw off the guardian, kicking and shrieking, but PHenoraixa held on like a champion. Despite his injuries and wounds, he was hanging in there. But for how long? Phenoraixa held a spin in each as Drakia bucked and thrashed. It was like a kaiju sized rodeo on a mountainside. With all the damages that he taken, there was not much else in him. Yet he would have to go on. The sun warrior opened his wings and flapped hard, pulling Drakia off the ground and up into the sky and forced a somersault. Drakia was wheeled around and slammed face-first into the unforgiving rock that made up the mountainside.
A moment later and Drakia righted herself with a dazed face, but it was so brief that she was un-phased. Phenoraixa backed up, wings spread wide to detour her with the threat of more fire. Drakia was afraid at first, remembering the flames... then her eyes turned red and she lunged without preservation. Phenoraixa was rolled over and pinned by the lizard, and the two began to fight and struggle. Drakia clawed and slash down at the bird, cutting up his face and neck. In turn, Phenoraixa slashed at her cut and tore away several pieces of burnt skin.
With one big heave, Phenoraixa shoved the cat like lizard off and she rolled downhill for a short distance, easily righting herself. Phenoraixa got up and braced, ready for more as Drakia hissed and snapped her teeth in anticipation of tearing that birds head off.

"Attention, this match has concluded in a DRAW! Cease combat and return to your quarters immediately."
Reasoning being that, while Phenorexia posessed exceptional firepower (heh), his relative frailty and Drakia's power and agility helped him to keep up in damage output. Not to mention that both sides fought extremely well.

As the words boomed over the mountain terrain, Drakia recognized that they signaled the end of the match. But she wouldn't accept that. No, she was going to kill Phenoraixa! With a slavering snarl, the mad beast pounced at the firebird, jaws open and claws spread...
... only to be engulfed by a teleportation beam.
***
Drakia crashed into her own living quarters. She jumped to her feet, head whipped around in fury. When she saw the bird was gone, she hissed savagely. Her regeneration tank was filling with the soothing green liquid that she once used to heal her wounds. She didn't bother getting in it. With her burnt skin and adrenaline still rushing through her veins, she felt very little pain, despite her great wounds. They would heal on their own, lost in her blackened hide. Instead, the burnt beast lunged at the wall of her pin, clawing at the energy barrier. She wanted out. In her struggles to escape, the embers embedded in her flesh ignited a fire. Slowly, the flames started to spread. Eventually, they were burn her tropical dwellings to ashes.
Drakia didn't care.
And she cared about was escaping. And taking her revenge on the damned bird. It was hurt her beyond compare, her fear and hate turning her into a monster, a creature of merciless brutality and sadistic delight. A monster among monsters.
With a hideous howl, the UCA's newest horror threw herself at the wall again and again, all the while think of Phenoraixa's blood on her tongue.

Phenoraixa was so relieved when the words came and ended the match. He was even more relieved when Drakia was no longer in sight. Once it was safe, he feel over and collapsed onto the ground with hard breathing. So weak he was, that he had to teleported manually from the spot to his tank. He laid inside the tank, being sprayed with the regenerative green liquid on him.
At first he though he was going to die for what, the two-hundredth time? But no, not this time around... though he would have deserved it. After what he accidentally done, he was so ashamed that he could keep himself in solitary for a long time.
But he couldn't. This place owuld force him to fight again. Something he really did not want to do...
