Thinking fast, Ketos grabbed a chunk of ice from the shattered tundra. With a great roar, he beamed it straight at Dragus. Caught off guard, the piece of ice nailed the chimera right in the throat. With a strangled grunt, the great reptile clutched at his windpipe, voice restrained by the sharp blow. Flickering stopping in its tracks, the giant stumbled about, trying desperately to cry out. With his for temporarily distracted, Ketos rolled to his feet and reared up with a snarl. He curled his lips and spoke slowly and carefully.
"Well... it seems you may stronger than I had suspected... a bit more than a big dumb brute..." The dragon narrowed his eyes dangerously. "But that won't be enough to save you!"
With a thunderous bellow, the Tyrant of the Seas charged Dragus.
Water rose from where the dragon's body had cratered the ice in a rapid stream, all converging on Ketos's clawed hand as he ran. The water covered and compacted over the hand, which he squeezed into a tight fist. As he closed in of Dragus- who had finally found his voice with a tremendous roar- the fist lashed out in a navy blue blur of bladed skin. As the sea monster's hand connected with the chimera's gut, the water exploded forward! Dragus was slammed back by a powerful spray of water, the forceful stream turning to vapor as it pummeled his flesh. Although he was able to keep himself upright, the reptile slide back across the ice, feet digging furrows in the frozen ground. Lunging again, Ketos took a wild swipe with his talons, aiming for Dragus's throat.
He shrieked in surprise and pain when the saurian beast chomped down on his hand instead.
Ketos thrashed with agonized screams, tail and feet beating the ice mercilessly. Reaching up, Dragus raked his own claws down the length of Ketos's trapped arm. The dragon grimaced in pain as his jagged skin was parted like butter. His blood soaking into the snow below in crimson sheets, Ketos growled, a low, rumbling sound deep in his muscular chest. Parting his jaws, he loosed a boiling rush of water! The geyser blast smashed into Dragus's face, quite nearly popping his open eyes from his skull. Releasing Ketos and scrambling away, the chimera pawed at his throbbing eyes furiously, unable to see.
Spying a long, spear-like fragment of the ice tower Dragus had clubbed him with, Ketos quickly snatched it up. Holding it like a bizarre javelin, the Demon of the Deep reared back an arm, smiling broadly, then hurled it directly at his taller foe...

Dragus screams in pain and stumbles to the side as the ice spear stabs into his thigh. Instead of immediately stopping to remove the spear, he fires his heat beam at Ketos to prevent the Tyrant from pressing the attack. It works, as Ketos stumbles back with a scorched face. With that taken care of, Dragus attends to the matter of removing the offending shard still lodged in his leg. He reaches down, gripping it in his jaws, and with a quick yank pulls it out, wincing in pain as he does so. Then, glaring at Ketos, he crushes it.
Dragus charges at Ketos, roaring in fury. He opens his maw, bolts of electricity crackling between his teeth, and lunges. The sea dragon roars in pain as the jaws slam shut on his neck, surging electricity into his body. Dragus maintains his grip on his convulsing opponent, lifting the sea monster up before hurling him off to the side. With his foe laying on the ground, still twitching from the previous attack, Dragus prepares to fire his heat beam.

(Sorry for taking so long, was gone for a while.)
Ketos was pissed. He was royally pissed. Here he was, the last of the great dragons and master of the sea, sprawled across some icy wasteland, twitching and drooling like some lesser beast. It was so humiliating, so degrading.
Without warning, a crimson column of thermal energy slammed into the sea monster's back.
Ketos reared up, snapped out of paralysis like a whip. Dragus's beam scorched his flesh, searing his bladed skin into black grit. Ketos wailed, spine arcing in his agony. When the beam ceased, he dropped back down limply, moaning in pain. After a few seconds of motionlessness, Ketos's lips curled venomously. The mutt... the damned mutt would pay. It would die, die like the worthless imitation it was under his claws!
A finned tail lashed out suddenly, nailing Dragus across the chest. The reptilian chimera was sent to the ground with a yelp and a new gash, blood trailing from his torso.
Before the titan could even attempt to stand up, the frozen terrain beneath him began to tremble. Snow took to the air in jumbled clouds. Bits of ice tumbled about wildly. The terrible sound of collapsing ice structures rang out across the tundra from multiple directions. For the first time, Dragus realized Ketos was on his feet, eyes blazing like blood red flames. The Demon of the Deep spoke through clenched teeth in a hoarse snarl.
"I... will... not... LOSE!"
The tundra erupted.
At scattered points all across the landscape, the ice shattered, seawater rising up in towering geysers. These streams of saltwater rose up, higher and higher, all spiraling together high above the two reptiles. Ketos raised his hands up to the heavens, battering Dragus with a hard glare. The dragon parted his lips as if he was about to speak, but no words came out. Instead, a long, ragged howl escaped the marine monster's fanged jaws. Ketos hurled his clawed hands down, training them on Dragus.
The water came down with all the fury of a raging waterfall.
There was no scream of fear. No shriek of pain. No wail of agony. There was only the deafening roar of water pummeling flesh, and the spray of crimson mist. It only lasted for a split second, but that single moment left Dragus bloody and groaning, laying weakly across the ice. Ketos found the sight delightful, flashing his spear-like teeth in a sadistic grin. Marching over to his downed foe, the sea dragon laughed heartily. Coming to a stop as he loomed over Dragus, the Tyrant of the Seas regarded him with a sneer.
In a blur of deep blue flesh, the dragon stomped his heavy foot down on the saurian's skull.
Dragus gasped, clutching at Ketos's ankle. His whole body squirmed, almost going into spasms. Ketos laughed again, spraying Dragus with spittle. Hoping to brain his chimeric foe, the dragon pressed down, pushing as hard as he possible could. Before long, something would have to give way...

Dragus snarls in pain as Ketos grinds his foot down on his skull. The chimera’s spots begin to flicker and Ketos, recognizing the sign, immediately removes his foot. However, this was merely another ploy on Dragus’ part. As soon as the foot lifts, Dragus turns his head and fires his beam, striking Ketos in the face. As the sea dragon screeches and stumbles back, clutching his scorched face, Dragus gets back to his feet, firing a second beam in the process. This beam strikes his opponent in the chest, making the Tyrant of the Seas stumble back even further.
Dragus charges forward, spots on his black flickering. He raises an arm and, electricity crackling along it, swipes at Ketos. The sea monster is shocked and spun around by the strike, five fresh claw marks along the base of his neck, just above the shoulder. Dragus then spins on one foot, surging electricity through his tail as he swings it toward Ketos.

As the chimera's heavy, crackling tail whipped around, ready to club Ketos brutally, the dragon made no move to avoid it. Instead, he actually lunged towards it, arms swinging open. The electrified tail slammed into his chest roughly, forcing out a ragged breath, and he wrapped both arms around it. Even as the electricity surging through the muscular appendage snapped into his body, he kept his grip, enduring the pain and fighting the stiffness seizing his muscles. He was practically being fried from the inside out, yet Ketos snarled, showing his spear-like teeth in a fierce grimace.
He had sworn not to loose, and by the sacred fathers of dragon kind, he would not loose!
Gathering all he had left- in both body and mind- the Demon of the Deep began to wheel around, feet grinding into the icy ground. Being yanked backwards, Dragus howled furiously and pumped even more monster-made thunder into his foe. Although he twitched and drooled uncontrollably, Ketos kept spinning, hauling Dragus off the ground and into the air. A great roar ripping from his throat, the sea monster gave the saurian giant one last massive tug, and then let go. With a warbling wail, Dragus was sent sailing into the pale sky. Only staggering for a moments, Ketos steadied himself, then closed both his eyes and fists tightly. As Dragus plunged towards the ground, the ice groaned, water swelling beneath it. Just before the beast struck the tundra, Ketos snapped his eyes open to reveal two crimson flames, and two massive chunks of ice were thrown up by powerful surges of water.
The great sheets of ice clapped together, Dragus crushed between them!
Nearly collapsing from exhaustion, Ketos smirked a bit. There was blood drizzling from between the ice, the semi-translucent bulk stained a deep red. That would teach the damned mutt. Striding forward with a small grunt of pain, the bruised and beaten giant flexed his claws. When the twin masses of ice began to shudder, he picked up the pace, grin growing. Just as he pushed away the ice that trapped him, Dragus had his face smashed in by a powerful thrust of clawed hands, his snout pouring down blood as it was shredded. Unprepared for such a blow, Dragus toppled backwards, landing heavily on his back. With a small leap, Ketos jumped up and planted both feet into Dragus's gut! The reptile spat up a small rush of saliva and blood as he doubled over, gasping in agony. Before either combatants could reposition themselves, the frozen ground splintered and cracked dangerous.
Under the girth of two titans, the ice gave way, dunking both monster into the ice water below.
Quickly breaking away and rocketing from the water with a sweep of his tail and a bit of his hydrokinesis, Ketos landed back on the tundra, just on the edge of the hole he and Dragus had collapsed in. Quickly getting an idea, he turned around and clapped his hands together, eyes glowing crimson as he took control of the seawater around the chimera. As Dragus paddled towards the surface, the water around him tightened, squeezing him without restraint. Mashing his hands together with a malicious smile, Ketos tried to crush the reptile in a tomb of water...

Dragus gurgles in pain as the water pressure increases. Gritting his teeth, the spots on his back flicker before discharging electricity all across his body in a vain attempt to release the water’s crushing grip. When after several seconds that produces no results, he begins firing his beam, sweeping it around in wide arcs. Huge swaths of water are turned to bubbles of steam, but it’s ultimately of little consequence. The entire ocean is against him. With blood leaking from his ears, nostrils, and the corners of his closed eyes from the incredible pressure, Dragus resigns himself to his fate... for about half a second. His eyes snap open and, with a muffled roar, fires his beam once again. Instead of sweeping it around aimlessly, this time he fires directly upwards. The beam plows through the weakened ice at the edge of the hole through which he and Ketos had fallen, striking Ketos directly under the jaw. The Tyrant of the Seas roars in pain and stumbles backwards.
His foe’s concentration broken, Dragus is freed from the crushing tomb of water. He rockets to the surface, quickly clawing his way out of the hole. Wasting no time, the chimera roars and charges forward, lowering his head. Ketos begins to summon a pillar of water from the hole in the ice, but Dragus is on him before he can do anything with it. The dragon’s eyes grow wide as the chimera’s horns bury themselves in his gut. The pillar of water collapses back into the hole as Dragus heaves Ketos into the air, roaring in fury. Ketos hacks up a glob of blood onto Dragus’ back, at which point he somehow has the presence of mind to notice the chimera’s spots are flickering. Before the dragon can do anything else, Dragus begins surging electricity through his horns. Ketos howls in agony as electricity is pumped into his body. He begins clawing at Dragus’ face and neck - the best retaliation he can muster under the circumstances - but Dragus refuses to relent. He fully intends to keep this up until his foe is no more.
Dragus continues to surge electricity into Ketos, and eventually the dragon’s struggles begin to weaken. Sensing victory within his grasp, Dragus digs deep to give a final massive surge to finish his foe off. But no matter how hard he tries, he just can’t muster anything stronger than what he’s already putting out. After another couple seconds, the current begins to weaken and sputter before dying out completely. His electrical organs are completely drained! With a snarl, Dragus weakly dumps Ketos onto the ice in front of him, flakes of fried flesh and blood crumbling off his horns. He takes a few steps back, panting heavily, fatigue evident in his movements. He drops to a knee and looks at Ketos. Smoke rises from the charred holes on the sea monster’s stomach as well as his mouth and nostrils, but he’s still alive as evidenced by the slightly larger puffs of smoke from his mouth and nose each time he exhales. Dragus can only hope that will be enough to end this, because he has nothing left to give.

"Attention! Cease combat immediately! The winner is Ketos! Return to your quarters immediately."
Ketos wins by a hair, if only because he had some nastier options and tactics at his disposal. Dragus, while powerful, could only seem to match Ketos in brute strength, although that flash fry there at the end nearly evened things up between them. Still, it was a pretty brutal match and an interesting read. If Dragus had been just a smidge stronger, he would have pulled off victory.

(Awesome match, IR. Hope to clash again sometime.)
Even sprawled across the ice, his innards half-fried, a broad grin split Ketos's face as he heard the announcement of his victory. Chuckling softly, the sea dragon slowly drug himself to his feet, lips curled in a sneer. A beam of light raced down to the the tundra behind him. Ketos knew it would return him to his quarters, but he wasn't ready to go yet. Turning smug eyes of Dragus, the Tyrant of the Seas hacked out more mocking laughter.
"Hear that, scum? I won. You've fallen against Ketos, ruler of the oceans and last of the great dragon." The arrogant beast snorted. "A mutt like you loosing to such a superior creature is only natural."
He had no idea is Dragus could even understand his gloating, but it made him feel better.
"Hm... perhaps I should end you right here. It would an act of mercy by this-"
As Ketos took a menacing step forward, agony exploded into his gut. He nearly collapsed, doubling over and clutching his midsection with a howl. His insides were on fire! That last attack was just too brutal for him to continue. The dragon snarled in fury. That meant leaving like a good little monster. The thought sickened him, but...
Ketos roared in anger. Fine! He'd leave Dragus to wallow in his failure.
Turning his back on Dragus, the ancient marine titan stumbled weakly into the teleportation beam, both yelping in pain and muttering under his breath about 'damn humans' and 'stupid mutts' all the way.

Dragus growls. He lost. Despite that, the chimera isn’t angry. Both he and his foe had pushed themselves to the limit. They left everything on the battlefield. Given that, how could he be upset at the outcome? Suchodon had earned his respect the same way, after all.
With a grunt, he stands up and turns around. He steps into the beam of light, and a moment later he’s back in his living quarters. He limps over to the regeneration tank, the doors sliding shut behind him, and closes his eyes as the soothing liquid begins washing over him. Within a couple minutes, the tank is completely filled. Dragus exhales a stream of bubbles and drifts off to sleep as the healing liquid does its work.
