The two attacks wrestled and pushed against one another, before eventually exploding. Hyperion was forced to step back from the explosion, unaware of Auroros having used it to come in from above.
Like a falling brick, the bird nailed Hyperion in the head, causing the giant to stagger onto his side.
The dragon howled in pain and rage as he once more got back up, only to have a beam slice down his back. The damage itself wasn't much, but the pain hurt, and he was getting sick of this imperfect mortal pulling off hit and runs...
So, he decided to bring out his secret weapon.
As Auroros came back down for another straving run, a horrible, shearing pain bombarded his mind out of nowhere. The bird shook his head left and right, trying to get it out, but it persisted, and grew worse every second.
And then, one of Auroros's wings moved against his will.
It smacked him right in the face, puzzling the aching warrior. He tried to look down at Hyperion, but his head refused to, and instead bent back as far as possible, threatening to snap.
And then, against his will, his body twisted downward and plummeted straight into the ground.
Hyperion chuckled as he saw the resulting dustplume. Manipulation of the mind was a lovely power that he only reserved when he either needed it msot, or was bored. And here, he was simply bored. The former ruler of the Abyss lumbered forward, eager to see if the impact had killed the Guardian of Eternity...

But to Hyperion's shock and surprise, he saw a blinding figure soaring out of the resounding dust cloud, feathery pinions beating into the sky, before the being dove down upon Hyperion with lightning speed. It all happened in a flash. In retaliation, Hyperion spat a fireball, setting Auroros ablaze. Not about to stop, Auroros collided headfirst with the titantic horror, the force of the blow enough to topple the scaly tyrant. Now in pain, Auroros slid across the ground, flames still burning.
Hyperion groaned in pain. The attack was fearsome in power! The titan was amazed. Yet, he gre irritated when he saw the Auroros was still alive and kicking despite the fireball, the landing, AND the collision with both him and the ground. Hyperion was about to launch another fireball, but his gaze was once more blinded by an eruption of radiant light. By now, Hyperion was beginning to see colors from his eyes beign exposed to so much powerful light, but Hyperion powered onward, his skin flaking from the superheated blasts.
Auroros hissed before he took to the skies, sensing his foe's location through smell and hearing. The bird beast spat a stream of light as he soared overhead, scorching Hyperion once mroe and turning the sandy earth into glass like particles. The dragon roared with fury as Auroros made another pass, spitting his sun ray down towards his ground bound foe...

Once more the dragon's wings came up over his head, and the beam splashed off the webbing. Withdrawing his wings, Hyperion bent down low, and grabbed the closest large rock he could. His eyes still flashing, he could still make out the outline of Auroros against the sky, and hurling the boulder with pinpoint accuracy, the ancient Abyssian horror nailed Auroros with the rock, sending the Guardian of Eternity right back to the ground.
Hyperion moved slowly toward Auroros. So many powerful attacks had taken their toll on the bird, who was laying on his back, a newly added bleeding wound running across his back where the rock had nailed him. Hyperion chuckled. "You tried to take on that which seeks perfection, and you have failed. Now, let me show you the true gateway to everlasting life, O incomplete being!" The dragon rumbled as he grabbed Auroros's throat and began to squeeze, slowly, but surely.
The bird thrashed around at first, his body growing hotter and hotter, until Hyperion howled in pain and was forced to let go. Auroros tried to get away, but Hyperion grabbed the boulder he had used before and prepared to smash it down on the demon hunter's head...

The heavy stone came down towards Auroros' head like ah ammer, threatening to crush it like a big ripe tomato. But the demon hunter would not let himself become killed so easily. As the rock neared his face, Auroros pulled his head down towards his body, avoding the rock, before he got to his feet, sensing Hyperion towering nearly 2 times higher than his own head was. In retaliation to the attack, Auroros spat his trademark sun beam at the dragon.
Hyperion blocked the attakc using his vestigial wings, before he lunged forward and tackled Auroros to the ground using his bulk. The sky beast cawed aloud in pain. Hyperion chuckled, but made the fatal mistake of locknig his eyes with Auroros' once more. Hyperion suddenly became overcome with another panic attack, which gave auroros enough time to blast the fire demon with his light blast. The scorching light unleashed a blinding blast of light and set Hyperion on fire, forcing the heat resilient dragon off and causing him to blink his eyes multiple times to recover his vision. Auroros shook his head and body, clearly in pain, before he once mroe took to the skies...
Hyperion fired a ball of flame at his avian foe, but Aurros was too fast and managed to outpace it. Auroros made a pass in the sky, diving down suddenly and slashing his claws across Hyperion's face before the titan could even realize what was going on. As Hyperion whirled himself around, Auroros dove once more, talons outstretched for more blood....

The dragon wasn't fast enough to deflect or avoid the hit. Like an arrow through the sky Auroros struck out at Hyperion, and clawed away at the dragon's face like a demonic parrot. The former ruler of the Abyss tried to shake him off, but blood now dripped down the body of the dragon as Auroros hept his assault on, before flying back aways.
The damage was appauling. Hyperion's head was covered all over in deep gashes and bite marks. One in particular was dangerously close to his right eye, and made blinking hurt. The dragon growled in irritation at his airborn opponent. It would suffer for doing this!
The flapping of Hyperion's wing sforetold Auroros that the winged lightning was coming, and the bird tried his best to avoid the homing electricity before hand. He launched his sun beam at the lightning, causing the two attacks to once more lock into a deadly beam battle...
But unfortunately for Auroros, Hyperion wasn't going to play by the rules.
A single fireball from the dragon's maw cut off the beam, and the resulting explosion sent the guardian of eternity crashing back down into the ground. How many times he had been sent abck down into the sand he didn't know, but every fibre of his body ached... both from the fireball to the chest, and the explosion, and everything else he had endured.
Aways off, the front feet of Hyperion began to glow once more as he prepared to unleash his fiery twister upon the bird...

Auroros got to his feet as fast as he could, body aching and exhausted. He wanted to rest, but he knew he couldn't give in now- he had a battle to complete. With a beat of his wings, Auroros was once more off of the ground. Just in time, too- he could feel searing heat swirling below him like a vortex, the powerful suction threatening to swallow him up due to its great power. But Auroros endured, managing to get far enough away, much to Hyperion's annoyance.
"Damn you!" The titan of terror howled at the top of his lungs.
Auroros chuckled as he swooped in for another pass, but Hyperion was prepared this time. With a snarl, a flurry of lightning lanced forth from his pinions before it danced through the air, before tearing through Auroros' body. Paralyzing pain assaulted the sky dragon, eliciting a cry of misery from him, before he plummeted to the ground, colliding with an audible thud.
Auroros groaned, and could sense (and hear) Hyperion approaching. Thinking fast, Auroros unleashed a blast of light fro every inch of his body. Hyperion, predicting this, blocks the intense light with his wings, though it still gave Auroros enough time to get up and off once more. Hyperion snarled, charging up a fireball, but was caught off guard when a blinding sphere of light collided with his face. The Giant dragon howled angrily, blinded once more (plus with a slightly burned face), the titan grasping his face in discomfort and anger.
Auroros chuckled, as his talons came aglow. Suddenly, Auroros flung his talons at Hyperion like fiery boomerangs, the deadly weapons tearing into Hyperion's flesh easily, though the intense heat still did little to him. Soon, Auroros paused in the air, just as Hyperion recovered from being blinded, before a radiant beam of light tore towards the enemy dragon...

The dragon stod and took the beam to the chest. The impact hurt him quite abit, but he stood his ground. Once Auroros had ended the attack, the bird came diving in.
Just as he had hoped.
The dragon's wings began to beat, and Auroros, expecting another taste of winged lightning, weaved as best he could, but to his surprise, the lightning never came, and instead, the sand around him was churned up, the wings beating faster and faster, until a sandstorm was now underway. The Guardian of Eternity tried to lock onto his opponent, but sand was now getting into his eyes. He couldn't see anything, and he was now flying blind, which was never a good thing...
Especially when the ground beneath him was turning red hot....
A fiery pillar of molten energy spiraled up around Auroros and constricted around him. The bird let out a harsh cry of pain as his body was wrecked and ravaged by the fiery tiwster, until it faded 20 seconds later, but by then, the damage had been done. The bird dropped like a stone into the sand. His body was a horrible mess of burn marks and scorches, slash marks and bruises, all caused by Hyperion, who had now leapt into the air, ready to come smashing down on the bird...

Auroros, who had been badly battered by the firestorm, was in no shape to move. He closed is eyes, hoping for the pain to be sudden and short. And he got his wish. As Hyperion's tonnage slammed into Auroros, he swore that he heard something crack. But by now, the pain was becoming numb. His whole body had been so battered and bruised, he could barely feel a thing anymore. He felt.... odd.
But he was going to use this numbness while he could, because he knew it wouldn't forever.
The bird unleashed a blast of light from every inch of his body, stunning the titan long enough for Auroros to crawl out from under him. His mind was in shock, but like an automaton, Auroros marched on, his mind numbed and blank. The bird turned, before he flew, the pain in his wings feel-able even through his body's numbness. The sky beast buffeted Hyperion with a flurry of light-claw strikes, the boomerang-shaped light attacks cleaving into his skin, leaving deep cuts that were soon cauterized by the fiery heat. Auroros soared overhead, his body still numb, before he attacked once more.
A blinding beam washed over Hyperion, lighting the monster aflame and getting into the brute's eyes, causing him to howl in pain as his eyes were burned by the intense light wave. Auroros smirked, when a paralyzing wave of pain tore through his body. The numbing feeling had worn off, and now, Auroros was paralyzed with the sheer agony in was in. The feathered kaiju landed brutally on the ground, creating a massive plume of sand on impact. The bird got to his feet, squealing in pain, as he limped away from the still blinded Hyperion. The bird, willing up what little strength he had, soon aimed another light beam at Hyperion, the poor birdie barely being able to hold up his own weight by now...

(congrats, guys; first match where I used/tried out a new point system!)
A booming voice emanating from a hidden loudspeaker announces with an authoritative tone that stopped the monsters in mid-combat, "The battle is over, and a victor has been judged. The winner, is Auroros; I repeat, the winner, is Auroros! Monsters, prepare to be beamed back to your respective quarters."

The sky king cawed in pain, his whole body still aching from the pain inflicted upon him by the evil tyrant. But he had a newfound respect for the beast he battled. Auroros turned to the titan, body still bloodied, before he spoke.
"Good match, big boy. This ain't over yet!"
The feathered creature was then swallowed up by a beam of light, disappearing from sight...

To say that Hyperion was displeased was to put things very, very mildly.
The dragon howled in rage, raging and swearing and lashing out angrily. He had beaten his opponent to within an inch of his life, while th emighty dragon wasn't even aching that much. Sh how had it that he had lost to an imperfect being?
" IMPERFECTION! IMPERFECTION! I MUST STAMP OUT THE IMPER-" Was all he could rage out before he was teleported away, back to his chambers...
