The Arctic is the only region that’s actually split into two areas, those of course being the two polar ice caps. Both are essentially the same, with sub-zero temperatures being the norm and near-whiteout conditions common. The ice sheet is over a mile thick in the inland areas, but gets thinner toward the coast. Huge ice structures can often be found around the battlefield. When battles take place in areas with more uneven terrain, it’s not uncommon for fighting monsters to trigger large avalanches.
It should be noted that this region extends several miles past the edge of the actual ice caps, into the surrounding ocean. This allows battles to take place in the water with large icebergs acting as platforms.
