Name: Zommaroch
Height: 66 meters
Length: 75 meters
Wingspan: 70 meters
Mass: 30,000 tons
Living Quarters
Zommaroch's home is the unofficial garbage dump of the UCA, as any amount of trash or left over from the other monsters is dropped into his room. The regen tank is hidden somewhere under one of the piles, which is just fine as the roach doesn't need it, while the warp pad is fixed to the wall where it can't be buried. Here the roach can feast on anything from rotting meat to plastic, along with a host of smaller mutant roaches that seemed to hitch a ride along with the giant and help him clean up the pit.
Description:
Zommaroch tends to take a very erect stance, legs under the body, back straight with the head slumped a little with the shoulders. Though he can take a more animal like one, pulling his body horizontal, tail straight out and head lifted slightly up, similar to depictions of dinosaurs. His head is round in shape, attached between the shoulders on a small muscular neck that is sunk into the armor until it can't be seen. The bug has a thin ridge of armor that circles around the back of his neck and dips a little low on the chest so that he can look directly down without problem. In the center of Zommaroch's head are his antenna, they swoop forwards at least five meters out from his head when at rest. When angered they lay flat against the bug's head, arcing out behind him. His head itself is very smooth, lightly armored a glossy when looked at in any light, as is most of his body. About where his top jaw should be hang a number of what look like small tentacles, though unlike those of an octopus they are round and lack suckers. The little tentacles hang down passed his lower jaws, hiding them from view as well as giving the illusion of a beard. Under the tentacles, he has his lower jaw, split into five parts, each is a armor like flap ringed with jagged fangs. Each of the five flaps are attached on a small arm like limb which is connected to the bottom of the head, fairly close to where the neck begins. The outer most is the largest, with the next pair half that size and finally the fifth flap in the center is little more then a sliver. When needed they can hook together for form a completed lower jaw or just stay apart to feed similar to a wood-chipper. His eyes are on the sides of his head, slanted inwards near the ends to give the insect binocular vision. The eyes themselves look robotic, consisting of a single glass like plate with no eyelids, it glows a dull red at all times, lacking any sort of pupil, though the eyes will get brighter the more emotional the kaiju gets. The over all build of the main body is humanoid, a strong chest, stomach and hips that are thin yet strongly made. The top pair of arms are very human like, long and thin they are best at delicate work, but in a pinch they can be used for battle. They end in a segmented hand with six fingers, each finger looks like a small insect's leg, but they clearly resemble a human hand. The sixth finger is a second 'pinky', only a little smaller then the first one. The next pair of arms are connected to joints which sit roughly on the end where the ribcage would have been, if the monster had one to begin with. These arms are bulky, almost twice the size of the main pair, they are longer, the forearms being heavily armored and ending in three large claw like fingers which are perfect for tossing would-be foes into the air. Only a little lower then the shoulders are the insect's wings. Zommaroch's wings look something like a moth wing, they are made up into two parts, though more angular and pointed at the tips. There is a small armored joint in front of the base of the wings, this can latch on to the shoulders, letting the wings drape down over the bug. This gives him a cloaked look, with the dangling wings ending just below his knees. The backsides of the wings are pitch black, as is most of the monster, however the insides are quite colorful. Near the base of the wing is a mix of reds, yellows and oranges which stretch out from there in long waving streams throughout all four wings. It looks very much like fire waving across the insides of the wings, being brighter and more condensed the closer it is to his body, while the markings are thin and faded near the tips of the wings. The legs have good strong thighs, built for running long distances in a short amount of time. They are of course segmented. Coming to a knee joint which bends backwards, similar to a bird's, before slanting down into a long flat foot. The foot itself has two segmented toes that point forwards, with sharp claw like tips. The third is much smaller, just coming down from the ankle to dig into the ground. Lastly is the tail, made out of hundreds of smaller circular like jointed, the tail itself is quite long, a hint of reptile in it's design. At the end is a club like bulge, though it can open up, looking a bit like a flower, the odd club is made out of hundreds of small insectiod leg like grapplers. The over all color of the monster is of course black, but there are hints of bright green on almost all of the insect's joints.
Personality: Zommaroch is a bit of a mystery in this regard, it doesn't like to be around other kaiju, insect or otherwise. It also seemed to hold a firm disgust of humans, treating them much like they treat normal cockroaches. However, Zommaroch will not just stand by when cities of being destroyed, it will go out of it's way and take care of the monsters who threaten these places. Some people believe it is because at heart the bug isn't all that bad, on the other hand it is very possible it only wants to protect the smaller roaches who live along side humans, saving the people is just something that couldn't be avoided. Whatever the reason, Zommaroch remains one of the most confusing kaiju on record.
Attacks:
-Caustic Foam: The roach can spew forth a stream of white form from his mouth, this wraps around a target and hampers movement. If not removed the substance will harden, becoming a true pain to get rid of in the middle of a fight. On top of all this, the foam is acidic and will eat away at the flesh of any monster it comes in contact with. Zommaroch is immune to the effects of the foam and can move freely in it or around it while his foes are being slowly melted.
Powers:
-Insectiod Strength: Zommaroch is incredible powerful, one arm is able to lift about 40,000 tons and hit with the same bone shattering force. But as this kaiju has four arms, it's strength is multiplied, making it one of the strongest monsters in it's size class. Combined with it's blinding speed, the insect is able to charge it's foes and let loose a torrent of powerful blows before skittering away in a flash.
-Roach Speed: Like the species it was evolved from, the kaiju is very quick on it's feet and can move quickly across the ground. Those who attack the roach find that they have a hard time tracking the monster as it blitzes around them, waiting for some sort of opening before it strikes. In the air, Zommaroch is not all that fast, it's wins let it fly about as fast as a human jet plane, but it is unable to really content with more powerful air based monsters.
-Beetle Armor: The curved shell of Zommaroch offers the bug a degree of protection against attacks. It is fairly strong and can hold up to a good deal of pounding, but compared to other armored kiaju it is second rate at best. However, the curve of the shell does help deflect bladed attacks, as they have a bad habit of just sliding off it's shell.
-Grappler Tail: Similar the arms, the grapple like claw at the end of Zommaroch's tail is able to lift about 40,000 tons, though it is slightly stronger then any single arm. Used as a fifth limb, it can be used to wail on foes or pick them up off the ground for a quick toss. A favored tactic by this kaiju is to grab the feet of legs of his target and pull them out from under the monster.
-Sensitive Feelers: As with any insect, the antenna of this kaiju is highly sensitive, acting as both the ears, tongue and nose all in one. It can collect a lot of information about it's surroundings as well as those it is fighting against. This gives it a slight edge if the kaiju in question is fond of hiding or if Zommaroch just needs to track some prey down.
-Roach Body: The ordinary cockroach is infamous for it's ability to survive and adapt to just about anything. Zommaroch has inherited this as well. The insect is not affected by any known poison or venom, it breaths through air holes in it's skin which are protected by a thick mucus webbing, keeping air born substances like gas or soot from choking it. The roach is able to go two hours without air, letting it be deep under the ocean or even in the vacuum of space for a limited amount of time.
-Roach Regen: (Skill is shut down and constantly monitored to make sure the bug does not find a way to fight the hourly injections) Zommaroch has a high regeneration factor which lets the bug grow limbs back in moments or even it's entire head in under a minuet.
-Viral Rebirth: (A special blend of alien fungicide and viral cleaners is applied to wherever the roach goes, to effectively shut down this skill.) If the body of the roach is somehow destroyed, leaving chunks too small to regenerate back to normal, Zommaroch may still live on. Where ever it goes, the virus releases spores that dig into the ground and only activate when the main cluster which lies with the monster is destroyed or left without it's host. These spores attack any member of the cockroach family, they then warp the bug's body until it resembles Zommaroch once more. Of course, the others which do not make it either turn into giant mindless cockroaches or just die out. Every spore has an up to date DNA memory of everything Zommaroch has experienced, which means the newly grown mutant is pretty much the same kaiju. This means that the insect will never fully die, it is latterly impossible to get rid of the kaiju unless your torch the entire Earth and even then chances are fair that it would find a way to live on.
Weakness:
-Lightweight: Zommaroch is built for raw power and speed, this doesn't leave much room for armor and while the bug might lift something nearly six times it's weight above it's head with ease, it doesn't take more then a light hit to send the monster roach through the air.
-Tinder: The virus which inhabits Zommaroch feeds off it's host's fluids and leaves the body a little dry. This means that just about any amount of fire or flame can turn the giant insect into a ball of fire, quickly burning away it's body. Because of this the GDF have special flame throwers attached to their mecha when ever Zommaroch comes out to play, which limit's the monster's destructiveness.
