Name: Humulis
Height: 90 Meters Tall
Length: 190 Meters
Wingspan:
Mass: 70, 00 Tons
Description: When Humulis, a saurian pillar of muscle not unlike Titanosaurus or the Showa Godzilla, was first genetically engineered as a living terror weapon and war machine one name tossed around the laboratory was “Bland-o-saurus Rex”. It is not a unfitting name. Humulis could be any large, lizardy kaiju. His visage is that of any number of mass produced children’s dinosaur toy. Tall, lean and reptilian Humilis resembles some upright walking corruption of an ancient Carnosaur. Clad in warty, dusty gray skin that is mottled a blue gray along his back and shoulders. His head resembles a varanid lizard like a Komodo Dragon or a Water Monitor more so than any dinosaur however, with distinctive jagged black striping along his jaw. His deep set eyes are a brilliant green, with tiny circular pupils. His long neck, another varanid-like feature, is ringed with white bands. The pustules that cover his torso and limbs are a brighter yellow color. His chest and belly are free of these warts and are instead protected by a thick, leathery segmented armor. His feet are large and each has four toes that splay out broadly to provide him with extra stability. His most distinctive trait noticeable tail is unusually long, very thick and quite powerful. It ends in a rounded bulb of flesh covered in tough, oversized scales. While this bulb may seem like a good bludgeoning weapon, it is actually used to store fat and nutrients for leaner months. Humulis’ arms are long and powerful, and his hands are his second most noticeable feature. Humulis’ hands are unusual, first of all they posses two opposable thumbs each, in addition the three other digits of each hand are fused together into a single jagged bony plate.
Personality: Despite the fact that Humulis was designed, bred and born to be a weapon, he is in fact a rather lazy beast. He would much prefer to spend his days sleeping or eating rather than fighting or destroying things. When is introverted and usually prefers his own company, generally only happy when left to his own devices. Despite his laziness, Humulis is quick to anger and frustration. Being forced to fight other monsters at the whim of his captors annoys and infuriates him and he often takes his frustrations out on his opponents attacking furiously and without mercy once it becomes clear that the only way to return to his domicile is to fight. In battle, Humulis is defined by a efficiency and economy of motion. He wants to be done with the fight and be done with it quickly, he disdains the idea of flashy attacks and elaborate battle plans. In battle Humulis is direct and to the point, and his frustration and anger with his situation smolders in his green eyes as he glares loathing at everyone and everything around him. That said, Humulis is not a malevolent kaiju, just pugnacious and easily frustrated. When faced with an enemy who easily rebukes his opening attack or one that seems more powerful than him at first glance Humulis is likely to take a moment to sit back and consider his opponent. He won’t take very long to formulate a battle plan to overcome his opponent however, he wants to finish the fight and finish it quickly, but his natural stubbornness and easily bruised ego demands he give every battle his all. Unless his death is assured or an enemy proves to frustrating Humulis will never retreat from a battle. Humulis prefers close quarters, tooth and claw battles and will employ his Stinging Gas against enemies who try to stay out of reach of his arm blades or powerful tail in an attempt to annoy them into getting closer.
Attacks:
- Powerful Tail: Humulis’ tail is incredibly long, very powerful and prehensile. His favorite weapon and a versatile one. He can use it to (clumsily given its great girth) grapple opponents or bludgeon them.
-Hand Blades: Short, but impressive and imposing weapons. The three fingers on both of Humulis’ hands are fused into this stiff, bony plate which is often uses as both stabbing and slashing weapons. While they can leave gristly wounds they are far less effective against armored foes.
- Stinging Gas: A superheated oral spray of white mist, Humulis’ stinging gas is a long range weapon that only packs as much punch as the Original 1954 Godzilla’s nuclear beam. The Stinging Gas is hot enough to ignite wooden structures and melt steel but it is, in general, not as effective against most kaiju unless they have a particular weakness to heat. The real power of this gas is the fact that on contact with skin it causes a extremely irritating stinging sensation. While at first, this power doesn’t seem particularly impressive it can send sensitive foes into a frenzy and repeated uses can have a similar effect on tougher enemies. Humulis usually employs this weapon on enemies who rely on long range assaults or otherwise try to keep their distance from him in an attempt to goad them into losing control and rushing him. As irritating as the substance is, it isn’t unusual for the tactic to work.
Powers:
- Numbing Fluid: The warty pustules covering Humulis’ torso and extremities contain a pus which temporarily deadens nerve endings if they seep through the skin. Originally designed to cause complete paralysis in any organic monster that grappled with Humulis, the effects are far less devastating than intended. Generally this is only effective against thin skinned opponents however, and the effects only last a short time and the fluid only effects the area it touches.
-Energy Resistance: The overlapping leathery plate that covers Humulis’ chest and belly provide decent enough protection from edged weapons, but its real purpose is the ability to nullify attacks pf pure energy. While it doesn’t grant Humulis complete immunity from these weapons it does give Humulis’ vital organs much needed protection from the energy beams of long ranged foes. It provides no resistance to elemental attacks however.
Weakness:
-Tantrum: Easily frustrated, if he feels he is making no headway in a battle and can’t figure out an effective means of attack Humulis is likely to throw violent temper tantrums and in the height of this frenzy is just as likely to attack the landscape of the surrounding arena than he is his opponents. Smashing buildings and terrain with his tail and stomping his feet in frustration. Heedless of anything but venting his pent up aggression, this makes Humulis an easy target for a free hit or two.
- Slow: Humulis’ long, powerful tail comes at a price. It seriously hampers his speed, dragging behind him and weighing him down. While he is still a fast and furious combatant once he gets in range, the problem he often faces is getting to his opponents.
