THE SPIDER OF DISEASESVOLUCRIS -VS- THE GREAT WHITE FROST BEASTYAKURAArena: A cave system long conquered by the chills. It is filled with ice and snow, much like this: Ref: A good burdh. Intro: A brilliant flash illuminated the frost-filled caves, reflecting beautifully on the ice. If it had not been of the column of light appearing, the creature would have been nearly impossible to pinpoint because of how well it blended in the area. Recently, the UCA had gathered more Beasts from planet Colossus. The legends of Beasts and their fighting skills and powers were not unheard of to them, but whether these titans lived up to these stories was another matter. They would have to be "tested." The Frost Beast Yakura was one of them. Cool blue eyes detailing the cave, Yakura fell on her knees and hands. She could feel water running deep beneath, several hundreds of meters under her paws. She would likely not need it - the cave was already full of ice for her to use, and as a being that was one with her element, she could easily turn it into water. The mistress of the colds rose back to her feet, her cold breath creating plumes of mist. She had been told she was going to be fighting, but received no reason why. Paws clenching and opening, she thus waited for her opponent to make its appearance...

OOC: I doubt a human is a bird... but then again, I am not a major in biology
Yaku was not alone in the caverns, though she had no idea she was being watched. Before she had arrived, Volucris had been beamed in there, and now the arachnid watched the ice master with utmost curiosity. After the battle with Ziz that seemed to have taken an eternity, she was hoping that perhaps this creature would put up more of a fight... but that wasn't the only reason she was curious. she wanted to know just what sort of beast this was, what powers it wielded...
And what its blood tasted like.

The Frost Beast's icy eyes detailed the arachnid carefully. Volucris was unlike any spider Yakura had seen - never before she had seen one with a relatively humanoid head. She was smart enough to presume that everything else was spider, not human, including webbing, which the arachnid fired in the direction of the crystalline-tinted Beast like a harpoon. Before it could reach her, Yakura's right paw raised in front of her in a halting movement, clawed fingers opened. A great block composed of sharp shards of ice grew from the ground under the influence of the Great White One's icebending mind. The cryokinetic, protected behind her frosty barrier, heard a crunching noise letting her know that the spear of web dug itself into the wall, some parts of it cut off by the sharp shards of frozen water. However, she was not satisfied with simply halting the attack. She wanted, and had, to do more than that. Yakura was never one to lend her foes the slightest opening. With Volucris' web still stuck in the ice, frost began to engulf it. The Spider of Diseases had tried to tug her webbing free at first, but by the time she resorted to attempting to simply cut the web off, it was too late. The cold had already frozen the web completely, as well as Volucris' abdomen. In her struggling, the eight-legged demon failed to notice Yakura tempering with the ice again. The portion of ice that separated her from her enemy was turned into a band of slippery ice - it would have tripped the spider over if she had not anchored her spear-like legs in the ice. The block of ice that Yakura had created became loose, its base separated from the flooring, while Volucris continued attempting to free herself. A tender-hearted Beast might have taken pity of the trapped spider and released her - they might have shown mercy.
The white creature, as cold as ice itself, offered none.
In one push of Yakura's foot, the block of ice was sent sliding fast directly into the trapped Volucris!
BANG!
The hurt demon emitted a muffled sound declaring her pain as the sharp block of ice rammed into her like a freight train on springs, pinning her against the walls of the caverns behind. Frosty crystals leaped into the creature's flesh like a legion of spears. Her own fangs plunged into her neck, forced to bend and turn against their owner. Though the impact of the block itself had broken the ice keeping Volucris trapped, it was not an entirely good thing - cut ice shards dug in her abdomen, painfully worsening the wounds with each movement. Worse yet, she discovered that Yakura was mentally keeping them in place, preventing her from removing them! Ichor welcomed the puncture wounds and was frozen on sortie. This brought some relief to the pain and bleeding... but only temporarily. It had not escaped the merciless Frost Beast's attention, who, with a slow and graceful movement, melted the ice, resuming the drawing of blood from the injuries. Volucris struggled to free herself, which caused more blood and flesh to be torn for the most part, but also resulted in her attaching a web to the ceiling and pulling herself out of the danger zone. It was not a moment too soon, because the block of ice exploded in a burst of shards under Yakura's command, nearly hitting the spider. As a rain of shards fell on the flooring with a melody of clinks, Volucris shot a a strand of web downwards. It curled around Yakura's neck like a snake, and lifted the Chiller up. Paws dangling in nothingness, a collar of sharp webbing coiled around the Great White Frost Beast's neck. It not only gouged a wound, but also cut off nearly half of the Beast's air - it did not affect her as much as intended, as Yakura was used to the low oxygen levels of her cold, mountainous home. A clear liquid slowly oozed out of her wound as the Cold-Hearted was brought just a little under the level of Volucris' head; the liquid was followed by a thick fog, and the arachnid only realized that taking a bite out of Yakura was not a good idea when it was too late.
It certainly did not taste as good as she thought.
The liquid nitrogen forced the oxygen out of the spider's lungs as it made its way down her throat. The nitrogen created severe frostbite, and the oxygen being pushed out of the way in Volucris' body only made this more painful, as her throat and mouth was frozen over. Assaulted by both the frostbite and the lack of oxygen, Volucris lost her grip on the ceiling. Quickly detaching the web around her neck with extended claws, Yakura thought fast. The ice below her split to open a dark pool in which the white yeti fell, and her foe smashed against the frozen floor a little further away.
CRACK! emitted the ice and Volucris' exoskeleton!
The patches of ice covering Volucris' abdomen, wounds and throat crunched, causing ice knives to stab in her flesh. Yakura was not left unharmed, however. In the water, it took her a moment to recover her bearings. The poison was wearing her down! Its effects were not felt for long, thankfully, as her cold blood froze it were it was. From there, the Beast was able to get it out of her system with her waterbending.
Yakura emerged from the water pool with a burst of water. Unnatural movement consisting of the water coiling around her and splashing against her leg was a good sign that her mind was at work. The water was absorbed in the tubes around her muscles, strengthening them as she threw more water on the slippery band of ice in front of her. A thin layer of frost formed under her feet; sliding on the ice would be impossible if she did not do something to neutralize her claws and foot pads that normally prevented her from skidding. The Chiller slid forward fast, the Colossian waterbender leaping in the air at the last moment. Before she impacted with her foe's throat, small spikes formed under her frosty shoe. WHAM! The spiked sole, backed by Yakura's enhanced muscles, kicked Volucris in the throat. Blood poured out, staining both her throat, chest, and Yaku's frozen foot. A large bruise could be seen forming - an affliction as painful as it sounded - and the spider could feel her heart beat in it. Pain radiated both inside and outside her throat, and it distracted her from her opponent, who had elevated fallen shards of ice dotting the floor and prepared to fire them at the spider...

Volucris body was riddled as the icy shards penetrated her exoskeleton. they were like the world's deadliest spider wasps, striking while she was hurting, and as blood dripped from her throat, the arachnid was not amused. Something she couldn't even take a bite out of? How uninteresting. Atleast that Ziz bird had tasted very nice with her blood. This was a foe she had to fight up close... and as much as she hated fire, she wasn't exactly a big fan of the cold either.
As Yaku tried to rise more icicle projectiles to launch at Volucris, the arachnid made her move! webbing fired from the arachnid's aimed abdomen, and scored a direct hit on Yaku's eyes! The frozen beast clawed away at the webbing, trying to remove it, but it only set up for Volucris's next course of action. With the webbing cutting into her flesh and proving troublesome even for her to remove, she was yanked from behind, another strand of webbing that Volucrus swung into one of the walls of the caver, With a sickening thud, the cave reverberated, ice shattering as the beast's own body was used against it. As the dust settled, Volucris smiled. That was for the damn kick!
She leapt forward, and aimed all 8 of her legs at where Yaku had been. She was greeted with the loving feel of flesh being pierced through from all 8 angles, then quickly leapt back to avoid prolonged nitrogen exposure. as she saw the nitrogen leaking out of the creature's body as it tried to rise, Volucris aimed her webbing up, and yanked down a large frozen stalactite. Before it could fall tot he ground, she grabbed it herself, and hoisted it onto her back, ignoring the chill that went down her spine as she prepared to ram Yaku with it, the sharpened bottom (Or top, stalactite study had never been her strong suit) aimed right at the frozen beast...

The Frost Beast of Onada attempted to dodge out of the way. She threw herself to the side, her upper body burying itself into a pile of snow with a muffled sound. The pointed structure, originally aimed at her chest, instead struck her tail. As pain writhed the appendage and nitrogen blood blurted out, Yakura clenched her paws and gently swooped one around her head. Following the circular motion, the snow that buried her was swept out of the way like grass in the wind. The white behemoth crawled to her feet, then placed her palms in front of her. Water snaked on the ground towards her, elevating into a column to reach her palms. Between them, an orb of water was formed, growing bigger at it absorbed more water. Steam soon appeared on the liquid construct, causing the gentle ripples of its sides to become more agitated. Soon, the liquid boiled, and Yakura thrust her arms forward, creating a superheated, highly pressurized geyser! Volucris' wounded head ducked just in time, but still gave the waterbender a target to hit - her abdomen. The geyser's power was enough to strip off armor and flesh, its sheer heat scorching the spider. When the water jet ceased, but still leaving hot, boiling water flowing down, the extent of the damage could be seen. The top of Volucris' abdomen had been stripped off protection. What remained of her flesh was red and overly sensitive; the subzero cold of the ice caves clashed with the hot, burning temperature previously endured. It was now cooling down, the boiling water returning to a calm state, and the cold was already pinching painfully.
Yakura's arms restarted motioning, performing graceful, enthralling movements as she controlled the water again. Eight spheres of water formed, and soon curled into spinning disks. The projectiles ensnared the first articulation of Volucris' legs, and swirled around them. Their spinning became closer and closer to the legs - they were simply gaining more momentum before actually striking, and soon enough, the striking came. The water's pressure and backing force, both its momentum gained and the power of Yakura's elemental mind, allowed it to pry the armor and flesh off in a fate similar as the one which the abdomen had suffered. The jets were shaped into circular blades as they continued spinning, tearing deeper. Armor, flesh, muscle and even nerves were torn apart under their wrath! The arachnid's blood spilled in eight great arcs, staining the icy flooring. Volucris was taken aback by the amount of pain she felt suddenly, legs trembling and her body buckling. Though she was still perfectly capable of walking, she was slower - slowed down by both pain and less connective tissue to control her movements. She settled with shooting a web to the ceiling to launch herself off the ground - and out of the way of another water jet from Yakura.
Volucris fell off the ceiling like a bomb with the intent of crushing Yakura under her generous bulk, but the Frost Beast was ready. A geyser of water caught the spider in the air, before it froze over. Claws made of highly pressurized water clenched around Volucris, chopping in her body like guillotines. They froze as well, trapping Volucris in a prison of ice claws and were quickly stained with her blood. Yakura's fist clenched and elevated slowly, raising the pillar of ice with shocking speed towards the cold, unforgiving ceiling dotted with frosty stalactites...

The arachnid screeched as she was propelled toward the ceiling. No.... she didn't want this! She didn't want any of it! Not at all! Her spear-like legs jabbed into the pillar of ice she was stuck in, and the ice pillar shattered from the simutaneous strike, allowing her to fall back to the ground before reaching the ceiling. That wasn't to say she was spared of injury, though. The landing caused what ice was in her to shatter and fragment, injuring her insides. As the arachnid rose onto her feet, her eight eyes locked upon the frozen master, who was turning what ice was there into a massive frozen spear...
Volucris growled, before aiming her abdomen. Twin stands of webbing fired right as the spear was thrown, one covering the thrown weapon, the other tethering itself onto Yaku. All Volucris had to do was cut her own connection, and the thrown weapon recoiled back like a slingshot back to its master! Yaku was nailed outside the head with her own spear, staggering her with a new bruise on her forehead. Sensing an opening, Volucris fired two more strands, only these were aimed to the side of Yaku. Once she had pulled back enough, she allowed herself to be flung into the frozen master.
The resulting impact shook the very caverns as Yaku was smashed into, being sent crashing against the ground as Volucris slashed across her chest with her legs, tearing through the beast's flesh, and allowing the frigid gas within to seep out. As Yaku finally stopped sliding, Volucris, looming over the beast like a predatory nightmare, bared her fangs, and prepared to bite down onto Yaku's skull, ready to inject venom into the beast...

A mere moment after Volucris' fangs sank in Yakura's forehead, delivering its payload into the frosty queen's head, the frozen floor split open like a broken shell. A massive wave of water dislodged her from her prey, however. While the Spider of Diseases greeted the new arrival with a hiss full of hate, Yakura fully embraced it just like it would be expected of her. Her body floated calmly, whereas Volucris was caught in a whirlpool. The Frost Beast was trying to recover her bearings as the poison flowed in her head - she had to use her mind to pull it off and into the water, the water having formed a bubble to circle and remove it. The Chiller swam up to reach the surface. Without even having to move, she used her waterbending to pull herself directly on top of the surface of the water, stepping on it as though it was solid ground. Rising to her feet, she turned her body around to face her enemy, and her attention around to the harm she was about to inflict to her. A series of sharp waves, sharpened like razors and highly pressurized, slid against Volucris. They slit her underbelly open, and the water current that followed only opened the wounds further, openings agape like a monster's jaws. As her blood began to fill the water, her body cracked like a shell where the assault hit, Yakura yanked her out of the water. The struggling of the arachnid was not helping her to stay at the surface much, and she would drown if she wasted all her energy in wiggling and thrashing her legs in all senses. The Beast with the icy heart was not trying to kill her.
... Yet!
Yakura was still on the attack, however. Her mind lashed out once more, getting a grip of a portion of the poison contained in Volucris' left fang. The Great White Frost Beast forcefully ripped it clean out of the fang, creating a hole in its surface. The arachnid welcomed the arrival of the new wound with a howl, as Yakura froze the water around Volucris. Spears of ice dug into the spider's body like crystal knives, skewering her underbelly and back further. As unrelenting and cold as ever, the Frost Beast gave a quick movement of her fist, aiming to stab her opponent from side-to-side like food on a stick with the ice columns...

Volucris cried as the ice columns stabbed into her sides, spilling her blood among the ground. She was confused, hurting, and pained. This was not what she had wanted. She was a predator, a master of ambush and murder, not some play toy for an ice sculpture! Desecrating her very fang, a gaping hole where her venom had once been... She needed a way to get the upper hand again!
And she did just that, in while she was stuck in the ice, she could maneuver her abdomen just enough to fire a quick blob of webbing at Yakura's face. The ice beast grasped at the blinding webs, trying to tear them back off. Volucris broke free of her icy tomb, face red and fangs crackling together as she leapt upon the ice monster. She reared up on her back four legs, and brought her front four into play. Yakura found herself being pummeled under a barrage of legs smacking into her, cuts and slices running along her body. As Yaks stumbled back, Volucris fired a strand of webbing at her legs, then yanked. This caused the temporarily blinded monster to fall onto her back, and Volucris began to bind the downed monster up, the webbing digging and slicing through Yakura's skin even as it froze....

AAAH I FORGOT THAT GIRA POSTED I'M GOING TO POST NOW DON'T HURT ME
The strands of web froze against Yakura's body soon after it carved slices into it, but it had the positive effects of stopping the drawing of her nitrogen blood and trapping Volucris against her as before. The Frost Beast made a waving motion of her arm, and a torrent of water struck Volucris. It ripped her webbing off her, bringing along strips of ripped flesh.
Tentacles formed of water grabbed the arachnid, smashing repeatedly against the ground. As her covering crumbled under the strikes, the appendages froze as they wrapped around Volucris' wounded throat, aiming to choke the demon...

the icy tendrils were to be denied the opportunity to choke out Volucris's life, however. Even in her smashed state, the arachnid wasn't going to go down. Her fangs sunk into the icy tendrils, and shattered them, freeing her from their grasp, but not without personal injury.
"GYAAAAH" The spider howled as the hole in her fang was subjected to the freezing ice. She tried to grab her aching fang, to give it some pleasure, but there was no way she could ease it away. "STUPID GODDAMN IC-"
Her groaning was rewarded with a massive wall of ice slamming into her side, sending her flying into a wall. As she lay there, stunned and bruised, Yaku slowly approached the very ice wall she had conjured already reforming into a sword along her hand. Volucris recovered just in time to use one of her legs to block the sword swing from Yaku, the ice beast's face a silent, unreadable mask as it tried to swing again. Once more, a leg came up to block it, and this time, two more struck Yaku in the chest, slicing through the flesh and pushing her back aways. As liquid nitrogen spilled from the new cuts, Yaku was greeted by a surprise headbutt to the stomach from the spider, which sent her skidding across the icy cavern floor. As Yaku rose, Volucris fired her webbing up at the ceiling, at several rocks which hung above Yaku's head, before yanking down, causing a small rockslide to fall toward the ice beast...

The stones dropped on the frosty queen, bruising her white body. Her nitrogen blood responded immediately by bubbling out of the slices caused by the rockfall, as Yakura rose to her feet. Her dense body helped her "tank" the brutal impacts - it was built to withstand the crushing depths of the ocean which the Chiller loved to drift into. Though she was wounded, the Frost Beast remained cold and unbreakable, and motioned a clap with her hands. The movement itself was gentle, without any haste, but the walls of cold water that followed were not. The arctic waves slammed Volucris from both sides, crushing her like meat in a sandwich. Armor was cracked and blood squeezed out of the vein-like cracks, as Yakura followed this with an uppercut movement of her fist, causing a wave to lap up to Volucris' wounded abdomen. Spikes were shaped into the waves as it carved the spider's flesh and rattled her innards violently. Though the wave soon relented, the Frost Beast did not. She brought her fists together, and the water responded by forming two pillar that quickly froze over. The monuments impacted on either side of the demon's skull, leaving it cracked and bleeding. Finally, Yakura clenched her fists and thrust one forward, summoning another wave whose tip turned into ice dotted with shards. She guided the wave directly into her opponent's injured chest...

Volucris howled as the spikes sunk into her flesh and carapace, spilling precious blood onto the icy floor. How was it she was getting beaten so badly?! This was a disgrace, a herasy to the mighty cave spiders of eons past! All she had wanted, was to prove herself worthy of being Queen, a birthrite robbed of her by her own sister, who broke out of her egg just a second earlier. With her sister getting special privilages and becoming the new Spider Queen, she had been relegated to being just a normal child, forgotten and uncared for by all around her...
NO, SHE WOULD PROVE HERSELF!
letting a primordial shriek escape her mouth, the spider went berzerk, leaping upon Yakura and pummeling the ice beast with her razor sharp legs. cut after cut appeared on the face and neck of the creature, before she had to leap off to avoid a massive wave of water. Latching herself back onto the ceiling, she then pushed herself off, ramming into Yakura like an arachnid missile. nitrogen bubbled out of Yakura's wounds as she was floored by the bulk of the spider, her very form crashing to a stop as it slid into a large protuding rock in the ground. Stars were what Yakura saw from that impact to the back of her head...
taking advantage of the situation, Volucris wrapped her two front legs with webbing, turning them into pseudo fists as she reared up, preparing to pummel Yakura in the stomach with her new toys...

Yakura was struck by the "web fists" in the stomach, the impact digging her in a crater of her own shape. Though the wind was knocked out of her, she still showed little reaction. By chance, the impact had thrown a fountain of water upwards, which the Frost Beast quickly caught a hold of. The droplets froze and turned into ice shards, before the Chiller sent them assaulting Volucris like icy javelins. They planted themselves both into wounds and out. Adding to the soreness, Yakura armed her knee with a sheet of spiked ice, driving it into the demonic arachnid's stomach. She had taken the care of filling the tubes around her muscles with water to increase their density first. To top it off, the Frost Beast launched her opponent against the wall of the cavern with a large pillar of ice to her chest, and drove it even further...
AUGH. This turned into a lazy post when my brain got tired of losing the post to silly page refreshings.
