you da man HayesAJones.
The echoes of thunderous trudging disturb the sanctity of the forest and sends birds and various wildlife anxious and fleeing. From above, one could only see the movement of trees as some...thing, moved through the forest. Then, the inhabitant comes into view as it reaches a clearing. The creature is a new one, that's for sure. The kaiju appears to be made of wood/trees, and had some sort of kaiju-proportioned hornet's nest fused to its shoulder.
The behemoth Athujen releases his thunderous roar, calling out a challenge to any nearby kaiju.

A ray of light seemed to slice through the forest's thick canopy, before an ominous feeling of cold washed over the forest. The ground became frozen and some of the trees grew a layer of frost on them. a large, white shape appeared in the center, looking like a huge spiked chunk of ice. Suddenly, the block moved, the large spiked ridge turning out to be twin pearly wings. The majestic pinions stretched out wide, before a huge tail smashed into view, tearing a tree down and a large, horned head emerged from a cloud of dust and frosty mist.
The beast glanced about the woods, examining their beauty, before his gaze came upon the strange beast before. He almost couldn't see the beast, since it looked almost exactly like the other trees. But, there were some physical differences about this one, and they were obvious enough for him to tell the difference from the others. A gout of frosty air jetted out from the Arctic destroyer's nostrils. This creature was something unnatural... and should be put out of its misery. Kori Kahn bellowed a challenge, spreading his wings out wide as cold gases poured from his mouth like smoke....

Athujen bellows his thunderous growl (which spooks more wildlife). Before him stands some sort of lizard-like creature; one that has mastered the element of ice and cold. Never has Athujen had an opponent like this. The tree-based life form was buckles down to have some fun.
At first, Athujen harmlessly picks up the growling hostile life form. He holds it in the air and lets it dangle. He takes time to observe it, but if it was learning he wanted to do, he picked the wrong kaiju. Kori Kahn was too feral and horny to let this creature treat him like something harmless, so to prove just how harmless he was, Kori lashes out with his dagger-like claws.
The talons rip into Athujen’s forehead. The carvings had some chilled wood in the ravines. Overwhelmed by the unpredictable attitude his quarry took, anxious over the damage, and enraged that he even let it happen, Athujen holds his frosty enemy high overhead with his main arms. As quickly as he had been elevated, Kori Kahn is slammed full-force into the ground below. His mass crushes trees underneath-trees proportioned to humans-and they splintered against his flesh and icy armor like the toothpicks they basically were to such a behemoth.
Kori Kahn quickly gathers his bearings and prepares to rise to his feet. He gets as far as lifting himself with his forearms, when a sturdy blow lands on top of him. He couldn’t see, but Athujen had just lifted his front legs off the ground, in the air, and forcefully crashed them down on his opponent; instead of getting up, Athujen continues applying pressure-all 93,000 tons of it-on K. Kahn.
Such a strike warranted an angry shriek-like roar from the arctic antagonizer, and after a prolonged period of time dealing with the tree-ground sandwich, blood started to gather in his mouth. Such a relentless creature would not be intimidated- much to Athujen‘s displeasure. But then again, a worthy opponent wouldn‘t be deterred, now would he?
Before Athujen was done with him, the woodland monstrosity points his minor arms at Kori’s side-the right side, which Athujen was facing-and commands a flurry of sharp wooden shards to bombard the frosty critter’s exterior. Some merely break on impact and leave mere cuts, scrapes, nicks. Others pierce through the skin of the monster to a little degree and catalyze trickles of blood to slowly leak out. Kori merely growls, unwilling to give Athujen the satisfaction of knowing the effects his attack had.
Athujen takes a few steps back and allows his pray to stand. Kori had the unfortunate throbbing of the puncture wounds with the splinters protruding from them. It is an uncomfortable pain he feels, a mixture of soreness, stinging, and an itchy sensation around the wounds, though he had no means to scratch them. Not to Athujen’s knowledge anyways… For his final warning for Kori Kahn “not to do that again,” Athujen points all four arms at the quadruped and unleashes hell (in the form of countless Splinter Shards) on his victim…

The splinter shards hurt, that was a definite for sure. The small yet painful little splinters dug into his scaly flesh, drawing blood from his unprotected sides. Kori Kahn was not about to let this fellow "protector" get the satisfaction of defeating the Lord of the North! The icy dragon snarled and quickly got to his feet, eying the natural creature cautiously. It was certainly a bizarre specimen- it took on the shape of a tree, and seemed to be completely sentient. Not only that, but it seemed to have an aura of arthropods swirling around it.
Absolutely disgusting. Something this foul was to be purged as soon as physically possible.
Kori Kahn roared at Athujen, before an aura of frosty air shrouded his maw. Suddenly, a beam of ice energy tore through the air and smashed into the tree, eliciting a painful sensation to the creature. A layer of ice quickly covered the frontal part of its chest, and killed some of the bugs that made themselves at home in its body. The bark soon began to shivel and die from the cold if the beast didn't let up. Thankfully for it, the dragon did, and Athujen rushed at him, bringing a giant wooden hand down towards his quadruped opponent. Kori Kahn Countered by chomping down onto the hand with his powerful jaws, his razor sharp teeth digging into the wood. It tasted terrible, but his plan was working, and more of the tree's bark became frozen with his icy breath within his maw's vice. Unfortunately, he began to feel a crawling sensation, and when he glanced at his leg, he saw a miniature legion of ants marching onto his flesh and preparing to harm him. Horrified, Kori Kahn released his grip, before the air became frosty and exploded outwards in a blast of frozen air, sending the tree beast flat onto its back, a layer of frost on his body, and killing the radioactive ants that had invaded his personal space. Completely revolted by now, Kori Kahn spat a trio of ice spheres at his foe....

Athujen sidesteps, letting the first sphere crash into the forest behind him. The next sphere, he crashes his right main arm into, unexpectedly creating a shroud of icy mist. Unable to see, the third struck Athujen square in the left shoulder. Kori Kahn waits several moments to confirm his opponent's state. All that time, silence. The mist starts to clear, but before it can completely dissipate, Athujen's thick tail lashes out like an angered rattlesnake. The limb's sharp tip spears Kori right in the left shoulder, causing a spray of blood.
Kori growls as Athujen steps out of the mist and raises his quarry into the air. He dangles the Northern kaiju while he drains some blood from the creature. The blood travels through the tail, into Athujen, and his body converts it into strength and energy. He moans out of satisfaction at his augmentation.
Next, Athujen flings Kori Kahn harmlessly into a cluster of trees. His blood lazily oozes from the penetration wound, sore and throbbing (and made more painful by the bits of Athujen that broke off from his tail and splintered inside the kaiju). The wooden being performs an action that seems like he's taking in a breath of air, then expels a anxious green mist. It engulfs the downed ice lizard, and its sickening effects begin to take effect. The effects include a fever, sweating which instantly froze on Kori's body, and his joints begin to ache like an elderly person. He tries to stand, but falls back down. He was dizzy, light-headed, and seeing double.
The most harmful effect of the toxic gas is the heightened sensitivity to his body. The splinter wounds feel like large brutal incisions, and he'd feel more comfortable just ripping off his arm with the impalement injury.
Athujen raises his right arm and aims it straight at his fellow combatant. A slew of shards propel from his palm, and gather around the left shoulder. The sharp little weapons penetrate around the wound, and even inside the wound! Kori shrieks out in sheer agony.
The effects of the gas start to wear off. Slowly, but surely, they dissipate. While he still had Kori distracted by his aches and soreness, Athujen picks up his opponent, and throws him down forcefully into the ground, attempting to slam the frosty lizard...

Kori Kan is slammed brutally into the ground, the force of the collision with terra firma kicking up a large cloud of dirt and dust. The ice dragon roars with fury before he blasts the wooden demon (at least to him anyways) square in the face with a blast of frosty energy. The tree monster groans as a layer of frost quickly covers its visage like a mask, and before one could notice, its entire face was encased in ice. Athujen could barely see Kori Kahn through the ice that had manifested upon his visage. The frost dragon, however, could see Athujen perfectly, and quickly cut off his blistering assault. Unfortunately for the tree beast, he wasn't doing it simply to let him recover.
While it was indeed partially about retaining his honor (for even the most evil and corrupt creatures deserved a few moments to recover their bearigns after a brutal assault), it was mainly so he could get in another attack.
Soon, Athujen managed to free his face from the layer of ice that had encased his head. Alas, he had little time to react after this, for kori Kahn struck him with astonishing power. The dragon's mace like tail smashed into the tree's body, spikes digging into his bark and sending him sliding backwards, his root like feet creating a deep rut in the forest earth. Athujen fired a flurry of splinters, but Kori Kahn froze them with his breath before they got too close. Suddenly, the frost dragon took to the skies in a single efficient beat, spitting a single ice sphere that struck Athujen in the chest, releasing a frosty mist. Athujen swung his arms about to clear the mist, but Kori Kahn was out of sight. Soon, he was seen soaring overhead, unleashing a stream of icy breath down from the heavens as he passed by over the forest.... and Athujen....

Sense dictated that Kori Kahn would be engaging Athujen again somehow, and while Athujen is not very intelligent...he possesses enough sense to see that. With his roots dug into the ground, he begins sucking up as much water as he could. The water strengthens him, and strengthens him enough to withstand the blast from Kori Kahn.
Kori Kahn circles overhead, waiting for the icy mist to clear to confirm the hit. Once it does clear, he disappointingly sees Athujen with all four arms crossed in front of him, nearly unscathed except for a few frostbitten areas around the arms, from the icy assault. Athujen lowers his arms and roars straight at Kori in an intimidating manner that was also a testament to Athujen's strength(s).
Kori heard a moist kind of noise; he looks to see the source. The source is his shoulder-mounted beehive, separating in half and revealing dozens of little eggs. The eggs crack open and a swarm of hybrid hornets hover out and quickly grow to kaiju proportions (not as big as a kaiju, but just insect sized to a kaiju, like Meganulon). The little critters travel to the icy opponent and land all over his body. Kori Kahn tries to ice (no pun intended) the little buggers, and succeeds with a few of them, but more took their place. The insects plant their stingers and inject their deadly, painful venom all over Kori's body.
After several seconds of trying to combat the pain of the sting…Kori just cannot take it. Not to say he’s weak; he’s actually proving to be one of Athujen’s most formidable combatants, it’s just that these hybrid insects are a blend of two of the most painful wasps out there and one of Athujen‘s deadliest attacks. The pain feels shocking- electrically. And throughout his body, there are throbbing sensations of burning heat, as if Kori was just subject to a flamethrower. Wherever the insects stung, the frigid flesh begins to decompose, leaving nasty blotches.
Athujen’s Paper Wasp/Tarantula Hawk hybrids reach the end of their short life cycle. With the last of their life and energy, they float back to the hive and land on it. As they die, they become assimilated back into the hive to be recycled. Next, Athujen trudges over to the fallen Kori Kahn and plants his right elbow “blade” firmly against the lizard’s throat. The tree kaiju slowly but forcefully drags the sharp elongated piece of wood across the lizard’s throat, literally tearing into the flesh. Zero degree temperature blood leaks out, and the incision is agonizing, but Athujen didn’t carve deep enough to knick anything vital to kill off his opponent so soon.
Kori musters up the strength to turn around and lash out. He sinks his fangs into the right minor arm. The unexpectedness of the attack catches the terrible tree terror by surprises, and he bellows a low-pitched growl (like a Big Daddy’s moan from the game Bioshock). So he inserts his sharp tail tip into one of Kori’s decomposing insect bites and commences draining blood. If Athujen had pupils in his eyes, they would roll back in ecstasy. The blood he is siphoning is putting him in a euphoric state of mind, and hurting Kori in the process.
Kori releases his locked bite on his enemy, but it takes a couple of seconds for Athujen to regain his senses and remove his tail. The tip of his tail feels cold from the freezing blood, but it was an enjoyable sensation while his body feels the cool temperature of the blood traveling through it. For his final attack, Athujen forcefully turns to the side and sends his massive, brawny tail tearing ass through the air and aiming to crash into Kori Kahn and send him back about 100 meters, into a cluster of thorny trees (almost like giant cacti)…

Kori Kahn, acting fast, quickly rights himself in the air with a quick flap of his wings, kicking up a cloud of dust and narrowly avoiding beign impaled by a wall of razor sharp thorns. This "guardian" beast was certainly proving to be a formidable opponent. The creature had absorbed some of his icy blood, and seemed to be syphoning it to power himself up. This disturbed the Arctic Destroyer greatly, if only due to the use of his very own blood in the process. The frosty titan bellowed at Athujen, who replied with a flurry of deadly splinters. the frost dragon gracefully flew out of the way of the flechette assault, before he dove down towards the tree beast, claws outstretched to strike his opponent.
Athujen had other plans for him. The tree beast smashed his heavy tail into Kori Kahn's head, a sickening crack beign audible before the dragon slid across the ground, limp, for a few moments. The dragon got to his feet, groaning with pain, but Athujen was already on him. Having little time to react, Kori kahn unleashed another blast of icy energy in al ldirections, sending Athujen onto his back and creating another layer of frost on the tree's waning bark. Athujen lashed out with a cloud of fearsome bees, but Kori Kahn blasted them with his frost breath, killing them instantly, before sweeping across Athujen's chest, damaging him further. The tree monster stood firm, however, and weathered the fearsome assault. He lashed out with all his might, but Kori Kahn was too fast for him and avoided the slow, debilitating attack.
The lord of the north countered immediately. The dragon's sharp talons raked thrice across Athujen's exposed sides, tearing deep gashes in the wood with each brutal strike. Ice hardened claws drew sap from the wounds. This creature may be stronger, but Kori Kahn had theadvantage of speed, and planned on using it to his full potential. As Athujen slowly rotated himself around to face Kori Kahn, the dragon sent a blast of icy energy straight at his face....

Athujen catches a glimpse of the approaching ice blast and turns around quick enough to shield himself with his back. The ice beam bombards the area of bark for a couple seconds, then Athujen counters by raising his arms, aiming them behind him, and fires off some splinter shards. Kori Kahn dodges them, like Athujen figured he would. The attack was just meant to force Kori to stop his.
Athujen turns to face his mortal enemy. As he stands there, he absorbs a little water to refresh himself. As he does this, blinding white heat/energy begins to peek out of the chest port's cracks and warp the space around the frontal section. Now, the chest port blossoms; it opens its "petals" to reveal an overwhelming buildup of the sun's heat/power. Athujen bellows as he unleashes a massive beam of pure searing sunlight.
The superior beam engulfs Kori Kahn; if there were spectators nearby, they would see just a blurry silhouette engulfed by the overpowering Solar Beam. Kori shrieks awfully as Athujen's attack melts his dorsal and frontal ice armor, burns his skin, and causes incomprehensible harm.
Athujen concentrates the beam for 5 or 6 seconds before "calling off the dogs," as the expression goes. His chest petals fold back into place while steam leaks from the cracks as it cools down. Athujen takes a moment to gather himself after calling upon his deadliest attack. On the ground, Kori lies limp on his stomach. Severe blisters decorate various points around the frosty reptile's body, patches of skin horribly blackened and infected. and throbbing with acute pain, and tenderness. The injuries are coated in dried blood and casually leak puss. As cold as he was, Kori wasn't exactly having an easy time cooling his body back down. His front and rear ice armor weren't completely melted, but they also weren't what they were at the beginning of this example of Mortal Kombat.
To buy himself some extra time to compose himself, Athujen sends a telepathic command to the colony of mutant Bullet Ants surviving inside his person. On cue, a little over 2 dozen ants march out from access points throughout the wooden beast's hollow body. While he remains parked, Athujen's Bullet Ants take their places around Kori Kahn's body and immediately inject him with their venom. Kori's body comes to life with even more discomfort as the ants' venom take its course. The burnt and infected skin that is stung pulsates with a sharp, warm sensation. Kori Kahn retaliates by exerting a minor rendition of his Absolute Zero pulse to free the insects and shake them off. They shatter into pieces on contact with the ground.
Athujen roars and mourns the loss of some of his loyal soldiers. He keeps his major arms limp at his side but raises his pair of minor arms. They send a volley of piercing thorns into the now-standing Kori Kahn's left side, which has a big black splotch of damage. The projectiles tear through the tender flesh like it was tissue paper and catalyze a discharge of blood and puss.
Kori Kahn has some difficulty standing with the acute surge of pain originating from the further-injured site of his body. While Kori's attention is divided, Athujen exhales a cloud of his infectious gas to sensitize his enemy's wounds, and increase the pain Kori Kahn is experiencing...

Kori Kahn attempted to hold his breath as the deadly cloud of gas advanced towards him. He knew its effects all to well now, and wanted to avoid it. He spread his wings side and flapped them, and, with a couple beats, dispeled the foul fume from his area. As Kori Kahn breathed, panting from holding his breath, saw the large tree guardian burst into his view. Unable to react, he took a fearsome wooden fist across his face, sending the frosty overlord backwards across the ground and skidding into a tree. Kori Kahn, dazed from the hit, shook his head about, regaining his focus quickly.
But the damned thing had disappeared from his sight. Kori Kahn stomped to his feet, the side of the tree that he had slammed into now frozen from the dragon's icy aura. The Arctic Destroyer kept his wits about him. His eyes panned the arena, and his ears were perked for something- anything- to alert him of his opponent's presence. nothing. Just dead, pure silence. it perplexed Kori Kahn- where had the creature gone? Why was it no longer nearby? Suddenly, he heard a rustling of leaves nearby, followed by brief movement in the brush. Kori Kahn crouched low, treading lightly across the forest earth, each of his steps leaving the ground a bit less lively than it was before. He approached the spot he had seen the creature. But, he saw nothing.
Suddenly, he sensed movement to his right flank, and he jumped on the opportunity.
The dragon quickly rotated his torso towards where he had sensed movement, and, sure enough, Athujen was swinging a wooden fist down towards him, intent on crushing the dragon. Kori Kahn countered with a blast of blistering cold straight into the tree beast's chest, pushing him back a couple meters and once again froze a bit of his chest. The tree beast let out a groan of despair- one that touched Kori Kahn. It was a depressing sound- almost like the sound of a dying animal. Was he really in the right? Was it right for him to do this to an innocent creature, one that sought only to protect its home? Was it much different from him, and his goal of protecting his people- a goal he had ultimately failed? Kori Kahn didn't have much time to ponder this, for the tree monster was already on the attack.
Seeing he had little choice, Kori Kahn spat an ob of ice into Athujen's face, creating a cloud of mist and distracting it long enough for him to smash his tail into its chest, forcing backwards a good 10 meters. The dragon lept backwards in order to distance himself from the monster. His epiphany was eating away at him still, but he had little choice right now. Maybe in the future they could be allies, but right now, he was forced to battle him, and so it will be carried out. Regret painted across his face, the dragon spat anothr blast of ice breath at Athujen...

Athujen swiftly turns sideways to allow the blast of icy energy harmlessly strike the ground. He raises and aims his left minor arm, and rockets a volley of splinters at Kori Kahn. The sympathetic kaiju's [rear] left leg, adding more decorations sticking out of his body to Kori Kahn. As he returns to facing his foe, Athujen's shoulder-mounted hive splits open. Kori Kahn knows what is about to come...
The mutated Paper Wasp/Tarantula Hawk hybrids float to their quarry and like before, sting. Four of the airborne terrors sting the rear right leg, while six or seven attack the front legs. The familiar pain of their venom overwhelms the frosty lizard's senses; but like the proud fighter he is, Kori growls through the pain and hides his discomfort.
Athujen calls his swarm back, where they become part of the honeycomb. Athujen trudges over to inspect his prey, but Kori thrusts his penetrating horn into Athujen's front right leg (the knee). It pressures through the bark, and while it rests inside the impalement wound, Athujen roars with fury and crashes his [major] right arm on the ice elemental's cranium. After about four strikes, Kori retracts and brings his horn with him, but forcefully tears it out and takes some chunks of bark with it. A couple of bullet ants poke their heads out and get comfortable with the new access point for exiting and entering.
Finally, Athujen engulfs Kori Kahn in a cloud of the poisonous gas. They bring out added pain and discomfort. Kori winces, and has a harder time holding in his suffering.
For his final attack, Athujen brings his front legs up before sending them slamming down. Athujen intends to crush his prey beneath his mass and strong legs...

Kori Kahn groaned, managing to glance up in time to see the massive, bulky arms comnig down at him. The pain from the previous attacks was excruciating, and was further exemplified by the stange venom of both the wasps and the venomous mist the tree beast expelled form its foul maw. Yet he couldn't help but not want to fight it. Then, the arms slammed down on his torso, making the dragon snap back to reality and let out an unearthly screech of utter suffering- somethnig uncharacteristic of one as stiff upper-lipped as Kori Kahn. The pain from the blow awoke a rage in Kori Kahn, before he retaliated with a blast of frost to the creature's face, encasing his visage in a layer of ice.
The forest guardian clawed at his face with his larger arms, as his smaller arms clawed at where Kori Kahn was. The Arctic Destroyer got to his feet, achy from the venom's effects. However, he could feel them slowly wearing off, which was relieving to Kori Kahn, for fighting while in such agony was somethnig he couldn't even fathom. As the tree beast smashed open his icy mask, Kori Kahn slashed him across the face with razor sharp claws, the hardened talons tearing a claw mark deep into the bark and drawing sap. Athujen grumbled with fury, before he took a swing at Kori Kahn.
The dragon opted to snap his powerful jaws around the arm, freezing over more of the tree bark with his chilling breath at close range. As Athujen reached his free arm and two minor limbs towards the frost dragon, Kori Kahn released his jaws on the arm and hopped backwards, avoiding his wooden foe's strike. Kori flaps his wings, kicking up a cloud of dust, before he spits a trio of ice spheres and takes to the skies....
