ooc: Lets get this wave'a'rollin
----
A crack of thunder and a flash of light, the first flash of light came down like a lightning bolt and with it the tachyon particles that carried the first to enter the arena. King of Ash, Ruler of the Adamant Continent, Lord Hurican! The dragon didn't even touch the ground. His wings carried him around the vast area. At last he came a halt and landed with all his weight upon one of the many perches, making the structure quake and buckle under his mass.
Then he demanded like the king he was BRING ME MY ENEMY SO I MAY RUIN THIS LANDSCAPE WITH HIS CHARD REMAINS!

A second beam of light entered the Arena, lancing into the middle of the pool. When the light receded, the waters frothed and boiled as Carcharius burst forth from below, saliva already dripping from his fangs.
"FIGHT! FEE...D ME!"

Seeing his foe appear, Thanatos shrieked out insults. "Miserable beast of the deep, you shall taste not a thing more then your own burned corpse! . The dragon kicked from his perch and raced forward with all of his weight carried upon his massive leathery wings. With his new brain power, Carcharius thought quickly before diving head first into the water and shooting forward with his fin splitting the surface with command!
The two were to meet head on, but at the last second, Thanatos veered to the side just as Carcharius exploded upward, claws extended to dig into and rend flesh! but her found none; nothing but air. He fell back down and into the shallow shoreline, quick to pick himself back up. Carcharius turned to face his opponent again but was met with a blast of flames that covered his entire front head. Immediately he held a arm up, catching the direct blast. His watery yet sharp skin sizzled as tongues of fire lapped at it. The flames stopped after a few seconds and Thanatos passed overhead to back around. Taking the time, the shark monster threw his arm and face into the soothing water to douse the stinging pain. Second and light third-degree burns at worse.
When the dragon came back around, Carcharius leaps forward and just underneath just before the flames hit him. Quick to reach up, his claws grabbed hold of the tail and dig his nails in. This move almost cost the king of ash to fall out of flight and into the water; a worse case scenario with a monster like Carcharius. Instead he fumbled and ripped his tail free, but not without deep lacerations from those devastating claws Carcharius sported on his fingers. Frustrated he missed, Carcharius sported a tantrum, roaring out gargled version of the word "damn".
Thanatos came again. Instead of more fire, instead he threw his foe for a loop. Carcharius braced for what he thought would be another pass... But when Thanatos came crashing claws first into him, the shark let out an audible yelping noise as his body skidded across the dirt. Lord Huricane wasted not a moment in digging his teeth around Carcharius's throat and trying to pull back to tear it out...

Carcharius reacted quickly, slamming his talons into Thanatos' skull, narrowly avoiding the monster's eyes but leaving a trio of bloody wounds across either side of Thanatos' face as well as eliciting a bloody cry of pain...with a side effect of causing Thanatos to release his grip. Carcharius snarled as he slammed his own jaws shut on the dragon's throat, his fangs easily penetrating the armored hide of the beast as he pumped the squamata full of anti-coagulant in the process. Thanatos managed to whip his tail around, slamming it upside Carcharius' head and dislodging the shark.
"You dare try to blind ME?!"
Carcharius only bellowed in response as he charged back into the fray, the force of his charge enough to pick Thanatos up as the two crashed in to the shallow end of the pool. The blood from both combatants now stained the waters crimson, the scent flowing through Carcharius' nostrils as he bit and clawed at Thanatos, leaving a series of bloody wounds across the dragon's hide before rearing back and preparing to slam his jaws shut on Thantos' spine...

Teeth came down, piercing into the armor plates and spines running along the backside of the dragon. The teeth would have done more if not for these hard bits and gave Thanatos not but a spare few moments to wheel around and bash the shark right in his snout with enough might to bust a few cartilage bits inside the beasts face.
Carcharius fumbled back from that blow and thrown back even further as the dragon lowered his head and slammed his thick, mighty horns right into the beast's chest! Carcharius fell onto his backside, quick to start getting up. Before he could though, claws gouged deep into the edge of his tail where the fluke meets the spine. His weight went up as he was pulled from the ground and into the air. Thanatos swung his foe around with that great muscle in his arm, bringing the whole fish around and releasing him, throwing him out and farther away from his precious water source. Carcharius bounced about four times before coming to a stop.
Stomping forward with one wing in front of the other, the dragon closed the distance within a few seconds. By then, Carcharius was on his feet and turned. His claws came out and caught the twin horns and dug in his feet. The ground gave way, making Carcharius skid back as Thanatos pushed forward. A brief stalemate of pushing and pulling, Carcharius pulled the dragon around and slammed his face downward into the dirt, but only for a brief moment. Thanatos flung his head up, bashing the horns against the lower jaw and making Carcharius to flinch back.
Taking up the moment, Thanatos brought his long talons back and swiped forward with all his might to give this beast a scar he would not forget anytime soon...

Carcharius lashed out with one hand and caught the offending appendage before he began to squeeze, his teeth gritted together as his muscles bulged. Thanatos screeched in agony as something popped before Carcharius threw Lord Hurrican to the ground. Thanatos snarled in rage, but was rapidly silenced as as Carcharius gripped the dragon by the horns and repeatedly smashed his head into the concrete of the arena floor. Chunks of rock flew everywhere as blood began to pool into the crater. Carcharius finally released his hold, only to move to Thanatos' tail, as he lifted up the long, sinuous monster.
Thanatos bellowed as he whirled around, blasting a gout of flame at the shark's back. Carcharius snarled, pain flooding his senses for a brief moment before the heat killed many of the nerve endings, leaving him numb as his body cooked for a few moments. But this mattered little. Thantos was about to enter his domain, as Carcharius hefted the dragon up by the tail, spun him around once before throwing him into the middle of the pool. Thanatos sailed through the air before splashing down hard, with Carcharius jumping in right after him, his fins scything the water as he raced towards his prey.
Thanatos struggled to rise to the surface when Carcharius slammed into his midsection, fangs and claws digging into the softer belly of the beast, spilling more blood into the water as Carcharius ripped and tore, gorging himself on his prey, all the while readying his bladed tail fin to strike...

Thanatos begun to fight back, but the tail of the shark came about and slammed hard into his side. The pain made him gasped out, which was muffled due to the water all around them.
It was hard to fight something like Carcharius in this watery world. It seemed worse with his blood apparently urging on the attacker. Blood... perfect! While pulling the shark's face back and keeping him from another bite, he recoiled his head and opened his jaws. A massive cloud of smoke shot forth in a long string like fire... except underwater, the smoke disintegrated into the water, clouding it up. Carcharius recoiled as the black sooty water met his face, going as far as releasing his prey. The taste of burnt, sulfuric material being inhaled in his mouth, nose and gills was appalling! Even if he was a dumb, mindless eating machine, this would probably be unpleasant as Grimm's vomit going down his throat.
Pulling back into clear water, Carcharius shook his head. He snorted and hacked, clearing his nostrils of the noxious water. Swimming back up and out, Thanatos burst from the sea and up into the air... and he was mad. Rising higher and higher, he glared down at the water. "You dare manhandle me? NO ONE EVEN HAS THE RIGHT TO EVEN TOUCH ME! Flames lapped over his maw as he spoke. Rage flowing through him, he spat a pillar of flames that shot forward like a missile which crashed down into the water, parting it as the intense heat vaporized the liquid up. It was such a strong and hot blast that it pierced through and actually struck Carcharius in the back, sending him smashing into the bottom. The whole thing was followed with an explosion as the water was evaporating so fast it expanded faster then the air was allowing.
Against the bottom, Carcharius stirred, shaking his head. A massive burn mark on his back crackled and split, showing the bone beneath which was red hot. It looked as if the shark grew a patch of lava on his being. It stung like hell, but thankfully the water was easing it.
Again Thanatos pulled back his head, this time prepping a series of flames. It was time to make it rain the depths of hell from the sky and turn earth into a sea of flame!

As Thanatos unleashed hell, Carcharius was swiftly exiting the water and climbing the side of the fence. Falmes licked at him from below as he climbed to a platform, designed for Thantos to land on and now serving as an impromptu jump point, as the shark launched himself into the air. Thantos bellowed in surprise as Carcharius landed on him, grasping a wing and dragging them both down to the Arena floor several hundred feet below. The two twisted as they fell, but Carcharius gained the upper hand, finally managing to put Thantos beneath him as the dragon slammed into the concrete floor, cratering it deeply.
Carcharius, though a little wobbly, managed to grab Thantos by the horns as he repeatedly slammed the dragon's head to the floor before attempting to sink his talons into the dragon's back. But Thantos managed to retain enough of his senses to slam his armor plated skull into the shark's jaw, eliciting a grunt from the shark, but little else, as he spat out a few broken teeth before slamming his jaws shut on one of Thantos' wings The dragon bellowed mightily as Carcharius attempted to srtaddle the beast and bring all of his pointy appendages to bear against the dragon's armored back...

Carcharius had another thing coming if he thought it would be that easy. Thanatos bucked and thrashed violently. Long, serpentine body undulating up and down with great muscle, Carcharius simply could not get a good grip. If this shark should have remembered anything with his new brainpower, it was that trying to stand on top of one of these dragons was a roller coaster ride out of hell.
But the difference here is that Thanatos was bigger and stronger then Hera was.
Suddenly the ground sank beneath both as the dragon lifted off the ground with a beat of the king's mighty wings! It took all Carcharius had in his arms to cling, his nails dug deep into the dragons backside. Blood flowed from his long nails... but Carcharius was about to be in even more pain then he was causing his quarry.
Soaring high into the top, near the very top of the chain link fence dome... and then he banked hard! Leaning inward and using gravity to aid in speed, he slammed Carcharius into the chain fencing as the fell! Carcharius screamed as friction and the rough chains dug into his back and fin, tearing skin and flesh as they went. . Hurican turned again, freeing the shark from the pain.. for the moment. Thanatos decided why not go further? Racing all the way across the wing as fast as he could manage, he turned with Carcharius facing out...
crash!
Using the shark like a cushion, Thanatos slammed full force into one of the stone perches set around the ring. The pedestal cracked and quivered from the impact. Carcharius was busted up bad... internal damages were so severe that the shark gagged and vomited up a lake of thick, warm blood out and all over his foe and the floor. Before he could fall forward, Thanatos pulled his claw back and thrust forward, slamming his claw into the sharks head and slamming the beasts skull back into the wall with no mercy.
Claw still around Carcharius's snout, the dragon pulled forward to throw the beast out into the open area for more of a beating.

Carcharius felt himself be dragged onto the open floor as Thantos' tail coiled around and lashed him across the back. But he didn't feel it, much like he no longer felt his other myriad wounds. Bloodlust clouded his thoughts, pushing weak notions like pain from his system. As Thanatos prepared to strike again, Carcharius rolled to the side as the tail crashed down on empty pavement, before latching on to the dragon's tail. Jaws strong enough to crush tittanium armor performed the same action on Thantos' tail, as rivulets of blood flowed from the various puncture marks.
The dragon bellowed in fury as he tried to reach Carcharius, but the shark mutant stayed outside his reach, doggedly holding on as he pumped more anti-coagulant into the wound. Thantos decided that if simply thrashing about wasn't going to dislodge the shark, then he would take to the air once more. What he hadn't counted on was Carcharius scrambling atop his back the moment began to beat his wings. With talons sunk deep into the flesh of Thantos, Carcharius began to bite and claw at the dragon's back, leaving more nasty wounds in his wake. Thantos bellowed in fury as he tried to buck the shark off, but Carcharius was still clinging tightly. But with his jaws clamped down on the dragon's neck, he had to make do with his other weapons, as he tail reared back, ready to perforate the dragon's flank...

As the tail gored deep, Thanatos shrieked. He felt the sharp edge bore deep into his abdomen, insides being cut and torn as well.
Not that he was about to stand for it. Since the shark was on his back again, it was time to repeat the last move. But Carcharius, smart as he got so far and probably getting smarter as he was biting into the dragons mutagenic tissues, hopped off the dragon's back just as they gained altitude. This shark wasn't gonna go through that, again.
Up in the air now, Thanatos turned and glared down at his foe while he hovered in the air. He could see the wild change in the beasts eye... how the scent and taste of blood must enhance the creatures abilities somehow. Just like a predator of this type. His next move was a smart one, something unexpected if one knew Lord Hurican. Flames shot from his jaw and down at Carcharius, but not to hit him. He aimed precisely and quickly, burning a ring of fire all around the beast. Carcharius only swung around, eying the wall of flames around him. Then, Thanatos brought both his wings around and clapped his claws together. The wall of fire enclosed and imploded forth, enveloping the shark in a firestorm! The result was a massive plume of chaos and fire that rose into the sky with Carcharius in the center of it all.
Now all that seemed to be left was a bonfire with the tender being the sharps scorched body. Thanatos slowly landed and stared at the fire. "Hmph... Mindless...!! his eyes widened as the saw the mound of flames rise. Carcharius was plenty alive! Chard and with second degree burns, he walked out of the fire with white, doll-like eyes. Carcharius was too deep in his bloodlust to be bothered by even fire. But somewhat sentient, he reached up and patted out the flames on his shoulder and face that clung stubbornly. He glared at the dragon and spoke one long, loud word. "FFFOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!" the shout was powerful, sending air past Thanatos as a gale of wind. Was he getting stronger? to the point his voice did THAT?
No, Thanatos would not buy that. "You should have stayed down! he howled as he threw himself forward, with Carcharius charging as well. But Thanatos struck first, landing his powerful claw across the chimera's face with a loud crack, followed by another from the other side.
Following that, Thanatos lunged, jaws poised to grab the gill area and tear it out if he can manage that much.

Carcharius got lucky, as he shifted forward just slightly, Thantos' jaws closed around his back, near the dorsal fin, as opposed to shutting over his gills. Carcharius bellowed in fury as he reached back and grabbed Thantos by the horns before flipping the dragon over. Even as this maneuver resulted in the loss of a chunk of flesh from his own body, Carcharius didn't even feel it, as he wheeled on the downed dragon and drove his talons into the exposed flesh of the monster's belly.
Thantos bellowed as the claws sank into his flesh, but before he could bend his neck to unleash burning hell, Carcharius removed one of his claws and grabbed Lord Hurrican by the throat, before slamming the monster's armored head back into the pavement multiple times. Although his skull was thick, there was still only so much Thantos could take from someone as strong as Carcharius, as a blood smear could be seen in the little crater Thantos' skull was making.
Carcharius finally relented when it looked like Thantos might have been knocked silly. But he still hungered for blood. And there was plenty to be had in the bleeding wounds on Thantos' chest. But to get at them, he would need to open the gap, as he sank his modified pectoral fins into the wounds, before ripping them downwards like knives, carving a pair of wounds along the dragon's belly. Blood sprayed everywhere, covering Carcharius in its glorious stench, as he gripped Thantos by the throat, pinned one wing with his other hand, then prepared to squeeze the life out of his prey...

Gagging on as the hand grasped tighter, Thanatos was beginning to choke. His struggling which was great made it worse as his muscles begged for air, but he was finding none. Every moment was becoming more urgent then the last.
But Thanatos was not out of tricks just yet! His glowing, his body began to heat up. In a flash of fire, the entire serpentine body ignited in a flash of fire, turning the dragon into a living torch. Carcharius was startled by this odd turn of events. He released the dragons neck and shielded his face. Pain wasn't a problem, his nerves were virtually numb by now. However he could not eat food that was literally on fire, or even touch it for long. With his new brainpower, he realized that full and well.
Thanatos picked himself up, taking in deep breaths. From under his horns, he glared up at the shark. Flames lapped over his entire body, reaching up into the air. "Now you'll learn the hard way not to play with fire... he spoke, fire coming from his maw with each word. The fire grew higher, and higher. Now the whole dragon was a living torch, casting a red light all around him. Spreading his right claw, he swung out as if to claw. the flames jumped from his wing and shot out in wave of fire, curving from the side. Carcharius moved quick, hoping forward. Only his tail was struck, burning him, but otherwise okay.
He did not however avoid the next wave. Just an immense force of fire and heat, striking Carcharius like a massive uppercut. Carcharius was sent back and tumbling from the blow. More burns covered him now. Some areas that were becoming black and chard by now. Not a inch on him was wet anymore. Nothing but dry, toothy skin that looked bleach white instead of moist grey. Trying to get up and dodge, Carcharius was hit again and this time sent flying all the way back into the arena's wall again. This was not his day. Only thing keeping him burning forward was the mutagenetic blood in his gut from the dragon he as fighting.
And Thanatos was just riding on his high like a king would. "Where is that vicious predator instinct now? You were pretty big once you had me down a second ago! Come on! Charge right into me! Tear off my limbs! Hit me! FIGHT ME! One fallback to being this prideful... and it was THAT.
Fire built up within his teeth, boiling up and over his teeth. No more messing around and holding back. Pulling back his head in a strike position, the flames built for a full powered release of fire and fry the shark where he stood.
