KC, you know I like ya' and all... But is it your time of the month or something? Wow. And there was me thinking that it was pretty obvious, in 2012, that this "time of the month" wasn't the only time girls could get annoyed. What kinda reply is that?

KC, you know I like ya' and all... But is it your time of the month or something? Okay. I'm on no real side for this combo debate. But seriously MM? That was a pretty jerkish reply.

Yeah... that really wasn't called for, MM. Not helping the situation, either.

Maybe this is one of those "forest from the trees" thing. Everyone's breaking down each others posts instead of looking at the big picture.
There seems to be a lack of consensus on what the big deal is. Maybe we should start over and see what's going on. As far as I can tell, IR says that a single combo can be more damaging than a regular hit, but the individual blows that make it up shouldn't be more powerful than a heavy blow to the head kinda thing. KC, Soundwave and the others seem to feel that this means combos can no longer be bloody. I know I've seen plenty of combos from before this clarification that were bloody, but not considered over-powerful. Harbinger, for instance, has regularly used a rapid jackhammer punch to the gut move, which trades power for speed. It still hurts like hell and can leave the target fairly injured, but a single rapid blow like that is usually insufficient to cause much harm, at least compared to a more powerful, focused punch.
Even monsters with claws get in on the actions. Carcharius does stuff like that where he'll rapidly slash at a target, but because he isn't putting his full power behind the blow, his claws don't penetrate as deeply. Kinda like a cat doing a rabbit-kick. A single kick is little more than a scratch, but combined, they can tear your arm up. I know from experience.
Anyways, that's my two cents. If I misrepresented anyone's point of view, I apologize. This is just how I'm seeing things.
