Tenshi groaned as she began to stir. What... what happened? The last thing she remembered was getting banged around like the playtoy of an over sized dog...
Her eyes snapped wide open. She was starring at the floor, a good 200 meters below her, while dangling from an Agronium cage. And there were countless eyes looking up at her.
Her screams were only dwarfed by everyone else's laughter.
She curled up into a ball, hugging herself as she rocked back and forth. Was this Persephone's idea fo punishment? to be hung here for all to laugh and point at? She hadn't done any wrong... She didn't... She was a queen, the queen of heaven! This was an insult to her!
"Stop laughing!" She screamed. Alas, no one could hear her over their own chuckles and laugheter from those below. "I SAID STOP LAUGHING! I AM YOUR QUEEN!"

BOOM.
An enormous crashing sound rattled the cafeteria and shushed the laughter that echoed through it like a thunder crack.
BOOM.
Snickers turned to whimpers and smiles to frowns as the metallic crash of thunder sounded again, this time louder. Closer.
BOOM.
Slowly, the more meek-hearted among the crowd of Tenshi's hecklers began to shuffle away, and even the most bold among them at least hid their chuckling.
BOOM.
A towering form made up of dense flesh, molted hide, and bronzen armor moved in front of Tenshi, casting a broad shadow over the cage that held the shuddering Celestial.
BOOM.
Arc stared down at the tiny, caged figure before him, a dull purple light shining out from his dark sockets like laser beams and mist curling from between the serrated teeth of his skeletal cap. The massive alien gladiator tilted his helmeted head to the side. There was no malice or anger in his stare, unusual for one who had previously clashed with the arrogant earthen being and experienced the brunt of her ego. Instead, there was only curiosity. And perhaps the smallest amount of pity.
Arc had been caged once.
Arc hated cages.

A gruff voice rang through the hall, though its owner was nowhere to be seen. "My Queen?" There was a laugh, then a cloud of inky darkness seemingly blossomed from the ground, blanketing the floor in swirls of black and crimson. A large man emerged from its core, deepest eyes sizing up the Celestial.
"Now how did you get yourself stuck like that?"

"Shut up, just shut up!" Tenshi shouted at Garduk, not even bothering to look at Arc. She was now over her fright somewhat, and entering into her annoyed/angered state, her face red. "Some earth golem vomited all over me and turned the vomit into metal. Now I am stuck here, and some dumb angel took the cage and hung it up here. I don't deserve this treatment, or to be mocked at. Not by rusted piles of metal, and not by some creepy man born from darkness!"

The glow of Arc's shaded eyes grew brighter as he felt rage roll from the girl in waves. It was helpless, futile rage. The kind that could easily turn to poison in your veins. The kind that had once plagued him when he was turned from a creature of flesh and blood to the metal-boned warrior he was today. The herald of Rustred looked down onto his own limbs and felt helpless himself. If he could, he would free the young Celesital from her cage. But his hands, once capable of plucking fruit from thousand foot trees and holding young ones newly born into a tribe, had been sawed off and replaced with crude metal weapons meant for killing and killing alone...

"Quite the temper for a Celestial," Garduk smiled. He floated away from the floor and into the air, rising until he was at eye level with Tenshi. "You know what would cheer you up, Baby Cakes?" He raised her a bottle that he had been carrying. "A cold rum. Got it from the cafe. Help yourself."
He twisted his head. "What about you, Skull Head? You drink?"

Rum? The bottom of the barrel for alcohol? What kind of nonsense was this? A proper lady didn't drunk alcohol. And what was with this baby cakes name? She was not a baby, nor was she a cake!
"Eh, sure." She said, growling to herself as she took the bottle through one of the holes in the cage and drank it. It felt surprisingly smooth on her lips, a bit of a burn down her throat, but otherwise alright. She had had better, though. MUCH better back at home. "You know of my kind, but I have no idea what you are. You seem nice enough for a commoner. Tell me your name. I know who the walking flesh robot is..."

He grinned, and a black mass of nether emerged behind him, twisting into a crude chair. He sat down and leaned against the rugged backrest. "Name's Garduk. Big scary guy, one of the Three, destroys things, kicks puppies, yadda yadda yadda." He raised an eyebrow. "What about you, Baby Cakes? What they call you?"

"They call me Tenshi Hinanawi." The young Celestial snapped back, finishing off the entire drink. She wasn't going to get drunk off this. She had drank more potent shit back in Heaven. This might as well have been apple cider... "Queen of Heaven, and the greatest of those who survived the ancient cataclysm that wiped out our planet." She hiccup'd, her breath reeking of alcohol. "And a hell of a lot better than Persephone, I can tell you that much." She finally turned to face Arc, her eyes glazed over. "Hey, when did you get so loud? I thought you were the silent type."

Garduk chuckled again. Poor girl, couldn't hold her drink. One rum and she was hallucinating. Not that he cared, of course. It would just make the whole conversation funner.
"So that Persephone? Who's she? Enemy? Friend? Lover?"

"She's the Queen of Hell." Tenshi burped, tilting to the left, then to the right. She was perfectly fine... she knew she was. "Daughter of some Archangel figure, and an old friend of mine. Bit of a meanie as well, but hey, everyone here is mean."

Arc tilted his head as the girl fell deeper and deeper into inebriation. The curiosity in his gaze had turned to concern. He was not familiar with this humanoid habit of... "drinking," but it did not seem to be too beneficial to her. His glowing purple gaze then fell upon Garduk. The seeming man- though Arc knew better, he was far from human- was in no way a friend to the Celestial, he decided, even if he acted like it. He was merely using her as a source of entertainment. Encouraging her to drink more, mocking her when he was unable to do anything about it... Arc supposed that he was not all that different from his master Rustred in that aspect, but, unlike the Rusted One, he had done nothing to win his respect. For all his juvenile pranks and trash talk, the old one was still a a fiercely loyal champion to his kind. Arc saw no such redeeming feature in this fake man.
With a slow, meaningful wallop of his right arm, the ivory-topped warrior slammed his spiny mace into the ground, denting the gridded metal and throwing up a small spray of sparks.
It was not exactly a threat... not yet... but obviously still a warning. Arc had noted the girl's gal and tenacity with respect and he would not stand to see her tormented so.

Garduk threw out his hands. "Woah there, simmer down Skull Head," he half shouted, half laughed. "I mean no harm."
He returned his attention to Tenshi. "So if this Persephone is so mean to you, why stay with her?"

Arc relented, his mace falling static by his side once more. As long as the fake-man kept his questions civil, the silent one would be content to simply observe and stand guard for any others who might have less than savory intents for the girl. Though he would still keep one glowing eye focused on her current visitor...

"I stay with her... because she's a childhood friend of mine" Tenshi blurted, collapsing onto her back. She felt tired... so very tired already even after only waking up a few minutes ago. "It's sorta funny... back when we were kids, our positions were reversed. I was always the brave and authorative one, and she... she was the most timid, cowardly brace-faced girl you'd ever see. Just giant iron bracket braces and square glasses. A complete nerd if you had ever seen one, and deathly afraid of everything, especially bears."
